The Power Of Praise And Worship.

The Power of Praise & Worship

By Dr. Dale A. Robbins.

Acts 16:23-26 “And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
(24) Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
(25) And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
(26) And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

This Bible story begins the unjust arrest of Paul and Silas. Because they had cast a spirit of divination out of a girl, the local Philippian authorities beat them and then threw them into a jail cell. Besides the trauma of the severe beating, they were fastened in stocks which clamped their arms and legs in an immobile position, causing cramps and loss of circulation. The atmosphere there was depressing. According to the standards of that day, a prison was more like the resemblance of a dungeon. A dark, damp, stench-ridden place, with no facility for waste or comforts of any kind.

Yet, in spite of the throbbing pain in their bodies and the disheartening atmosphere, at midnight Paul and Silas were heard praying and singing praises to God! What a strange sound this must have been to the other prisoners, who were used to only hearing the groans or cursings of those who had been beaten.

Then suddenly, there was an earthquake that shook the prison! The doors flung open, and amazingly, the bonds of Paul, Silas, and every other prisoner were released! What caused this mighty discharge of power?

Praise Elevates us into God’s Presence and Power

Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts above their troubles and enter into God’s presence and power. Through praise and worship their hearts were raised into the joyous presence and peace of God, and provided God a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances.

The Bible says that God inhabits in the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is not merely a reaction from coming into His presence – Praise is a vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence and power of God! Praise and worship is the “gate-pass” which allows us to enter the sacredness of His glory. The psalmist writes, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalms 100:4).

This corresponds with Jesus’ teaching, that His presence will inhabit the gathering of believers who congregate in His name: “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). A “gathering in His name” means that Jesus must be the focus, the center of the assemblage. He must be the one preached about, sung about — the one praised and worshiped. “I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee” (Hebrews 2:12). Consequently, Christ’s presence, along with His virtue and anointing, is manifested in this type of gathering.

Have you ever noticed when “gifts of the Spirit” operate in a church service? The power and anointing of the Holy Spirit usually becomes evident, subsequent to a time of worship and praise. Some think that worship is a response after the Holy Spirit moves upon them. However, it’s the other way around. God’s presence responds when we move upon Him with worship! Lifting up Jesus Christ through praise and worship invokes the Lord’s presence and power to flow in our midst.

What is Praise?

Praise means “to commend, to applaud or magnify.” For the Christian, praise to God is an expression of worship, lifting-up and glorifying the Lord. It is an expression of humbling ourselves and centering our attention upon the Lord with heart-felt expressions of love, adoration and thanksgiving. High praises bring our spirit into a pinnacle of fellowship and intimacy between ourselves and God — it magnifies our awareness of our spiritual union with the most high God. Praise transports us into the realm of the supernatural and into the power of God. “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance” (Psalms 89:15).

There are many actions involved with praise to God — verbal expressions of adoration and thanksgiving, singing, playing instruments, shouting, dancing, lifting or clapping our hands. But true praise is not “merely” going through these motions. Jesus spoke about the hypocrisy of the pharisees, whose worship was only an outward show and not from the heart. “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me” (Matthew 15:8). Genuine praise to God is a matter of humility and sincere devotion to the Lord from within.

Unpretentious praise and worship pleases the Lord. He delights in the love and devotion of His children. According to the scriptures, the various expressions of praise bring blessing to the Lord. He eagerly awaits the fragrance of our affections, desiring to manifest His sweet presence and power in our midst. “…the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him” (John 4:23).

Praise to God is a Lifestyle

All too often, praise to God is something that many people leave at church, an event that happens only when they come together with other Christians. However, praise should be a part of a believers lifestyle, inter-mingled as a part of their daily prayer-life. At work, in the car, at home in bed, or anywhere; praise to the Lord brings the refreshing of the Lord’s presence, along with His power and anointing. “…I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalms 34:1).

Praise is an expression of faith, and a declaration of victory! It declares that we believe God is with us and is in control of the outcome of all our circumstances (Romans 8:28). Praise is a “sacrifice,” something that we offer to God sacrificially, not just because we feel like it, but because we believe in Him and wish to please Him. “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name” (Hebrews 13:15).

Praise Sends the Enemy Running

Since praise manifests God’s presence, we also realize that praise repels the presence of the enemy, Satan. An atmosphere which is filled with sincere worship and praise to God by humble and contrite hearts is disgusting to the Devil. He fears the power in the name of Jesus, and flees from the Lord’s habitation in praise. “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God” (Psalms 50:23).

When the children of Judah found themselves outnumbered by the hostile armies of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, King Jehoshophat and all the people sought the Lord for His help. The Lord assured the people that this would be His battle. He told them to go out against them, and He would do the fighting for them. So what did the children of Judah do? Being the people of “praise” (Judah actually means Praise), and knowing that God manifests His power through praise, they sent their army against their enemies, led by the praisers!

So on they went, ahead of the army declaring, “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endureth forever!” And the scripture says, “…when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten” (2 Chronicles 20:22).

When God’s people begin to praise His name, it sends the enemy running! I challenge you to become a person of praise, and you will experience the release of the power of God!

Some Biblical Expressions of Praise

Declaring of thanks (Heb. 13:15)
Clapping hands and shouting (Psalms 47:1)
Musical instruments and dancing (Psm. 150:4)
Singing praise songs (Psalms 9:11)
Psalms, hymns, & spiritual songs (Eph. 5:19-20)
Making a joyful noise (Psalms 98:4)
By lifting our hands (Psalms 134:2)
By being still (Psalms 4:3-5, 46:10)
By being loud (Psalms 33:3, 95:1-6)

Through Faith We Understand That The Worlds Were Framed By The Word Of God

THROUGH FAITH WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE WORLDS WERE FRAMED BY
THE WORD OF GOD

Through faith we
understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3)

The Greek word translated “framed” in the opening scripture
is “katartizo” which is to repair,
frame, perfect, mend, or restore. In other words, through faith we understand
that the worlds were repaired, framed, mended, restored and perfected by God.
This lets us understand the power of faith because that was how God framed the
visible world from the unseen.

Another word to study in the opening scripture is “world”,
which is translated from the Greek word “aion”. “Aion” refers to the structure
and administration of one’s life; how things go with you from day to day,
including how they affect your hopes and aspirations. It is the world’s system
with respect to socio-economic structures and environmental management of a
period in human history, including its arts and sciences.

The creation account in the book of Genesis informs us that
God made the whole world by speaking forth His Word. He called forth the light,
land and sea creatures, as well as everything else that He made. He had inside
Him the kind of earth He desired but He needed to speak forth the Word to bring
to pass what He desired. Each time He spoke, the Holy Ghost acted on those
words and caused what God spoke forth to appear.

As God’s children, this is also true about us, for we’re
made in His image and in His likeness. There’s a creative power in us, a
divinely enabled ability to create the kind of life or environment we desire.
We can order the circumstances of life to conform to the image we conceive in
our spirit. We can alter our destinies and change the course of our lives by
speaking words in faith and calling forth the things we desire to see in our
lives.

This is the key to recreating one’s life and living in
victory continually. Start speaking and calling forth today what you want to
see in your life and the Holy Ghost will incubate on your words and make them a
reality. Thus, it doesn’t matter what has happened in your world – your “aion”
– you can recreate your world! You can frame – perfect, mend or restore
everything in your “aion” by declaring faith-filled words.

CONFESSION

Dear Father, I
declare in the Name of Jesus Christ that the lines are falling unto me in
pleasant places; I’m experiencing fruitfulness, peace, prosperity and
productivity in every area of my life, for You have perfected all that concerns
me! Therefore, I experience absolute success and victory today, and declare
that everything in my aion is perfected in line with Your Will and destiny for
my life. Amen!

My Christian Confession: Angel Power Confession

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Angel Power Confession

Because I am the righteousness of God, angels have been sent to minister to me. They respond to the Word of God which I speak. Therefore, I loose angels with the words of my mouth.

I say today, let the Lord be magnified who takes pleasure in my prosperity. In the name of Jesus, I command the angels to bring to me prosperity in my spirit, in my home, in my body, in my family life, and in my finances.

I declare promotion and command the angels to bring promotion into my life. I have a blood-bought covenant promise from God Almighty to multiply exceedingly. Therefore, I confess I am exceedingly fruitful and blessed, right now, in Jesus’ name! I command the angels of God to go and bring this covenant to pass in my life now! I have the power to get wealth, and release the angels to bring wealth into my life.

I declare right now that I am healthy, healed, delivered, and freed from the bondage of sin. I am the head always, and never the tail. I am above only, and never beneath. I lend, not borrow, and everything I put my hands to prospers.

I walk in the favor of God and my favor is increased even as I am speaking. I have more than enough money to pay every bill that comes in, and I declare I am totally debt-free now! I have the authority of Heaven and in the name of Jesus, I declare that whatever I bind on the Earth, is bound in Heaven, and whatever I loose on the Earth, is loosed in Heaven.

I am free from unforgiveness and I set my will to forgive anybody for anything, no matter what! I walk in the love of God toward everyone, no exceptions! I send my angels forth right now, to do God’s pleasure and bring these words to pass. Angels, go now, and minister prosperity unto me, in Jesus’ name!

Father, I thank You in advance for all You have done on my behalf. Like You, I’ve declared what will be and am committed to calling those things that be not as though they are. Right now I rejoice, and I’m exceedingly glad that you have granted to me the petitions I have requested, while I am yet speaking. My total life prosperity is settled now, and with great expectation, I will continuously speak faith-filled words, and allow my every word and thought to confirm what I believe I have received, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

O GOD, BE KIND TO ZION AND HELP HER;

REBUILD THE WALLS OF JERUSALEM. AMEN! (PSALMS 51:18)

Thinking On God’s Word (The Bible) Is Much More Than Positive Thinking. Build Your Life On Jesus Christ

Jesus

THINKING ON GOD’S WORD (THE BIBLE) IS MUCH MORE THAN
POSITIVE THINKING. BUILD YOUR LIFE ON JESUS CHRIST.

Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are
just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever
things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things (Philippians 4:8)

The things listed in this scripture are by no means
exhaustive. Paul only wanted us to have the idea of the kind of things God’s
children should think or meditate on. Some people think positively according to
the teachings of intellectual men rather than according to the Bible. That’s
not correct!

You have to understand that nothing else can put you over in
life except God’s Word. Thinking on God’s Word (The Bible) is much more than
positive thinking.  The Bible says,
through knowledge shall the just be put over, that is, delivered into their
inheritance (Proverbs 11:9). I want you to realize this is not talking about
knowledge of science or philosophy; this refers to revelation knowledge, which
the Holy Spirit imparts to you as you study God’s Word. Man can only give you
his philosophy; his wisdom never works.

It’s a shame to find how people respect men who have acquired
a lot of money and become famous, but forget what really matters. True life is
only in the Word of God; you must realize that! Don’t build your life on some
philosopher; build your life on Jesus Christ and His Living Word – The Bible.
God’s Word gives life. Think on it. Let it fill your thoughts morning, noon and
night. Whatever things are pure, just, honest, lovely, of good report, full of
praise and virtue are what you should think on I don’t think there’s anything
in all of creation that can be truer, more just , more honest, lovelier and of
better report than the Word of God. It’s actually an exhortation to think on
His Word. Spend time daily to think on God’s Word. Your words and actions are a
function of your thinking. If you think right, you will talk right and you will
surely live right!

Whenever you find yourself in a challenging situation,
instead of thinking on the problem and magnifying it, simply get hold of God’s
Word and begin to think and meditate on it! As you reflect upon God’s Word, there’ll
be a transformation, a metamorphosis, a transfiguration that will bring about a
solution and a permanent change in your life.

PRAYER

Lord, Your Word is in
my heart and in my mouth, I meditate upon it day and night and thereby make my
way prosperous, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Saved By Grace. Salvation. Jesus Christ Did It All For You

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOU WERE SAVED BY GRACE, YOU WON’T
STRUGGLE WITH YOUR SALVATION. JESUS DID IT ALL.

Your days of struggling are over! Struggling with your
salvation, health, finances, job, or relationships will come to an end the
moment you realize Jesus did it all for you. He became poor that you, through
His poverty, might be made rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 tells us, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye
through His poverty might be rich.”
When this scripture becomes real to
you, you won’t struggle with lack anymore; when you know that you were saved by
grace, you won’t struggle with your salvation by trying to work for it anymore.

It would be a tragedy for you to seek salvation and
deliverance all your life when you have actually been delivered already. You’d
never be truly happy because the purpose of the sacrifice of Jesus would not
become a reality in your life. In this state, you won’t be able to accept
forgiveness as you will always feel you were committing the same sin over and
over again.

Eternal life starts here on earth! It’s the good life in
Christ Jesus. It brings righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. When
you allow God’s Word to gain ascendancy in your life, you’ll begin to live the
God-kind of life. He’s taken you out of darkness into His marvellous light.
You’ve been liberated!

When you accept that He has overcome the world, you will
live the overcoming life (1 John 4:4). You might be thinking you can’t prosper
except you work very hard. Remember, as faith without works is dead, so works
without faith is dead. When you work, work with faith; work with confidence,
not with doubt. Let the scriptures become real to you. When you’re starting
anything new, start with faith and not with hopelessness, frustrations and
struggles. You’ve been made free. Live without doubts; enjoy a life without
struggles.

CONFESSION:

The lines are fallen
unto me in pleasant places and I have a godly heritage. I don’t need to
struggle for any good thing in life, for God is My Chosen and Assigned Portion,
He has brought me to a good place and He maintains my lot, Amen!

Submit to God’s leadership and God’s authority

THE BIBLE: SUBMIT TO GOD’S LEADERSHIP AND GOD’S AUTHORITY

You’re the product of the information to which you expose
yourself. You’re the result of the leadership to which you submit yourself.
There are different forms of leadership in the world, but there’s only one
which is of God; that’s the leadership of the Word of God.

Some people listen and hearken to all sort of information,
refusing to be guided by God’s Word. Most of such people are ruled by their
senses and therefore estranged from God. The Bible says, “They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children
of God…”
(Romans 9:8). Whenever you open yourself to unrestricted
information, you’re bound to yield to all kinds of worldly advice, which are
void of the revelation of God’s Word.

You must make up your mind that God’s Word would be the only
compass that guides the course of your life, and not what someone who doesn’t
even have the Holy Spirit says.

You can’t live the rest of your life on the opinions of men
and women that have nothing but human experiences to share with you. Don’t
build your home on fickle counsel that’s constantly changing with the senses
and times. Rather, build your life on the proven and tested Word of God that’ll
never change. This is the reason you must let His Word abide in you richly.

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father,
I recognize that Your Word is not of men, but the divine light. I yield my
whole being to its leadership or rulership today and by it I find my way
through life.  I declare that the Word of
God is my light and life, in Jesus Christ Name. Amen!

Once God Anoints You With The Holy Spirit Nothing Can Stop You

ONCE GOD ANOINTS YOU WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT NOTHING CAN STOP
YOU!

Once God anoints you with the Holy Spirit nothing can stop
you anymore. The anointing maybe unseen and unheard, nevertheless you can see
what the anointing does.

The anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit that rests on
a man. It brings the glory of God upon your life and gives you direction in
life. When that anointing rests on you. It’ll change you from an ordinary man
to a supernatural being: “And it shall
come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy
shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed
because of the anointing”
(Isaiah 10:27).

The anointing imparts authority to your words and brings
grace into your life causing you to walk in divine favour. Things just fall
into place for you; failure, poverty and defeat become separated from you. This
is why the Bible says, “….all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according
to His purpose”
(Romans 8:28).

When you receive that anointing upon your life, no weapon
fashioned against you shall prosper. If you would receive the anointing of God
into your life, you’ll only see progress. The Bible says, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more
and more unto the perfect day”
(Proverbs 4:18). There are no ups and down
for the man that walks in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. You don’t have
failure today, success tomorrow and then failure. Rather, you success shines
brighter and brighter to the perfect day; you just keep moving forward, making
progress unto perfection.

These are the kind of things the anointing of the Holy
Spirit will do for you.

PRAYER

Dear Father, my heart
is open to see the revelations of Your Word. Let Your Spirit reveal the many
hidden treasures and benefit residing in me by virtue of Your anointing upon my
life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The Fruits Of The Spirit (Love, Joy, Peace, Long Suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Self Control)

HOW WATERED IS YOUR TREE? THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIRT (LOVE,
JOY, PEACE, LONG SUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, SELF CONTROL)

The easiest way to identify an apple tree is to check its
fruits. In the same way, the Christian is identified by the fruit he or she
bears. The Lord Jesus said, “Yes, the way to identify a tree or a person is by
the kind of fruits produced” (Matthew 7:20 TLB) and how true this statement is!

The fruits you bear must be an evidence of the Zoe; the God
life in you. In other words, your life is the product of the influence of the
Holy Spirit in your spirit. Love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control as itemized in Galatians
5:22-23, are the fruit of the recreated human spirit; one that’s fashioned in
the image of Christ. Hallelujah! You’ve been endowed with power and anointed to
bear divine fruit. Nothing can stop you! All you need do is position yourself
in the right environment.

You’ve been endowed with power to cast out demons, to speak
with new tongues, take up serpents, to lay hands on the sick and have them
recover. If you drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt you.

How watered is your tree? Where is it located? What kind of
fruits is it producing; edible or poisonous.

To produce the right fruits you have to stay in the right
environment. The right environment is the river side, where you feast on the
Word, at all times. You must manage your tree very well because our Lord Jesus Christ
said, “…..by their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:20).

PRAYER

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR
FILLING ME WITH YOUR SPIRIT WHO UNVEILS THE WORD TO MY SPIRIT CAUSING ME TO
ABOUND IN YOUR LOVE AND INCREASE IN KNOWLEDGE AND IN ALL JUDGMENT; THAT I MAY
APPROVE THINGS THAT ARE EXCELLENT, BE SINCERE AND WITHOUT OFFENCE TILL THE DAY
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST; BEING FILLED WITH THE FRUITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHICH ARE
BY CHRIST JESUS, UNTO THE GLORY AND PRAISE OF GOD, AMEN!

Holy Spirit Can Help You Today

HOLY SPIRIT CAN HELP YOU TODAY

But as many as
received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that
believe on His name (John 1:12).

As Moses was growing up in the house of Pharaoh, he
perceived that he would be Israel’s deliverer and he began to think of how to
accomplish this mission; how to bring his people out of the bondage of slavery.
He got an idea and soon began working on it. He decided to take the Egyptians
out, one by one. He started out and killed the first one. He however didn’t
have the opportunity to kill the next one before trouble came and he had to
escape from Egypt.

It’s possible you’re in the same situation as Moses was. Everything
around you points towards the direction of unfulfilled dream. You want to be successful;
meanwhile everything around you looks bleak. Like Moses, you feel as though you’re
pushed to the wall. The ready solution seems to take matters into your own
hands even if it means defrauding others. I’d like to remind you that true and
lasting riches come from God alone. You can become the dream that God has for
you only through the agency of the Holy Spirit and not by getting involved in
the wrong stuff.

Moses kept going in
circles until he encountered God at the burning bush. It was there that God spoke
to him and corrected his ways. Moses realized that violence wasn’t going to
work and he needed the Lord’s help. Violence can only lead to bondage. Let God
help you today as He did Moses; let Him help you bring the vision of your heart
to reality. Choose to go the supernatural way today. The Lord Jesus is calling
you today, just as He called Simon and his brother, Andrew:”Follow me” He says,
“and I will make you what I’ve chosen
you to be.”

PRAYER

DEAR FATHER, YOUR
WORD IS MY LIGHT BY WHICH I FIND MY WAY. I COMPLETELY TRUST IN THE ABILITY OF
THE WORD TO MAKE ME THE PERSON YOU WANT ME TO BE. I YIELD TO THE TRAINING OF
THE HOLY SPIRIT, IN JESUS CHRIST NAME, AMEN!

Touch Not God’s Anointed, And Do God’s Prophets No Harm (Psalm 105:15)

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Image via Wikipedia

God said to Abraham
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee….”

(Genesis 12:3). Isn’t that ironic! Because of Abraham the blessings of God will
come upon a man. On the other hand, the lot of another man because of Father
Abraham is curse. Anyone who comes against you has positioned himself under a
curse and as such he’ll live in misery the rest of his life. It makes no
difference if it’s one person, two, ten, twenty or more people; they are all
operating under a sealed fate.

This is why you
should be very careful about the things you say about any man of God. Sadly, some
Christians have constituted themselves to be critics of some kind in the house
of God; they are apt to criticize men whom God has anointed. These people would
only get themselves into trouble for God hasn’t given any man such
responsibility; that’s God’s sole responsibility. Miriam was a prophetess and
Moses’ sister. However, when she spoke against Moses the Lord rebuked her and
she became leprous (Numbers 12:1-10). If God could do that to a prophetess,
don’t you think even worse could happen to any other person!

Any man who harms His anointed ones has brought a curse upon
not only himself but also his household and many generations after him. God
Almighty said “…..Touch not my anointed,
and do my prophets no harm”
(1 Chronicles 16:22).

Remember, the same fire that gave light to the children of
Israel also placed great darkness upon the Egyptians. I urge you to keep away
from anything that may cause the Holy Spirit to turn against you.”

Don’t touch them with your pen or your publication.

PRAYER

Dear Father, help me
keep my tongue and lips from transgressing against you, through my comments
about men whom you’ve anointed. Let my words be full of grace that it may edify
all that hear me, and strengthen their faith in You and Your prophets, in Jesus
Christ Name, Amen!

When your spirit is aglow with the power of God, you’ll be able to influence people around you

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

To glow means to radiate light or heat or both. The Bible
tells us that there’s a spiritual glow about the children of God. That radiance
of divine energy is sparked off by the presence of the Holy Spirit and can be
seen on the believer. This means, you’re not empty for there’s power inside
you; you actually radiate some divine energy from within you into your world.

When your spirit is aglow with the power of God you’ll be
able to influence people around you for Jesus. However, one of the devil’s
strategies is to neutralize that radiance of the Spirit. He’ll stop at nothing
until he has dowsed your fire and stopped your influence in your environment. Since
he couldn’t stop you from coming to Christ, he’ll work to ensure you join the
“Silent Majority”. The “silent majority” are those who wouldn’t use the tools
God gave them to exercise control over their lives by the Word. As a result,
their lives are easily controlled by circumstances or situations.

“Never lag in zeal (and) in earnest endeavour, be aglow
(and) burning with the Spirit serving the Lord”. (Romans 12:11 AMP). In other
words, do not become languid and dull.  This
is the way some Christians are today. They’re uninterested in spiritual
activities. Such folks have no zeal; they are spiritless. Now, that doesn’t
mean they don’t have the Holy Spirit. Rather, it means they’re without
spiritual fervour. A child of God must not be that way.

Don’t ever become spiritually inert among people with whom
you live or work. It’s compulsory for every believer in Christ to be aglow in
the spirit. Regularly do a self – check or self – appraisal to determine the
level of your zeal for you can actually tell whether or not you’re aglow in the
spirit. “Don’t burn out; keep yourselves
fuelled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master
(Romans 12:11 MSG).
You must maintain your spiritual fervency and keep your spirit aglow at all
times.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I stir
my spirit up as I pray in other tongues. I am energized and my spirit is aglow
with the anointing and your grace. Amen!

Bible – Prepare your heart for the word of God by speaking in tongues at all times

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

If you want a harvest of crops from your seed, you must sow
in a fertile ground. A good farmer wouldn’t sow his seed just anywhere. He’s
trained to cultivate the soil so his seed can produce much harvest. The Lord
Jesus likened the heart of man to the soil in the parable of the sower in Mark
4:2-8. In the same vein, if you want the Word of God to produce results in your
life, you must prepare your heart to receive the Word.

The first thing you must do is, cultivate the ground of your
heart in readiness for the seed of the Word of God. The Bible says, “…….Break
up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns” (Jeremiah 4:3). This is done
by praying in other tongues.

When you pray in other tongues, you’re actually charging up
yourself (1 Corinthians 14:4). That way, you become more susceptible to the
move of the Holy Spirit and you can easily pick up revelations from the realm
of the spirit. Soon, you’ll begin to declare faith-filled words as they well up
from your inner man. These words act as the water and fertilizer for your
heart. Keep at it, until you’re charged to maximum.

The next thing you must do is to quieten your mind to
receive the Word. The reason your mind is important is that it is the doorway
to your spirit. As such, it must be kept quiet to avoid being distracted by
what I call “spiritual noise”. When you’re distracted your mind easily wanders,
and you can’t receive the right thoughts from the Word. There’s a great difference
between listening to and actually hearing the Word. You listen with your ears,
but hear with your heart.

I encourage you to make effort always to create the right
environment for the Word of God in your heart. This is how to make the harvest
of the Word of God thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as was
planted in your heart. Make every Word of God count today!

CONFESSION

I REFUSE TO WALK IN
UNBELIEF; I HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE WHERE THE WORD OF GOD OPERATES IN MY
LIFE IN SPITE OF THE PREVAILING SITUATIONS. I CONSTANTLY GAZE AT THE WORD AND
REFUSE TO BE DISTRACTED FOR AS I CONTINUE TO LOOK I’M BEING TRANSFORMED TO THE
IMAGE OF HIM THAT CALLED ME. HALLELUJAH! AMEN!!

God Has Given You The Victory, So Stand Firm and Be Unmovable

2 kings
4:8-37 narrates the inspiring story of a Shuna-mmite wowan. Whenever the
Prophet Elisha went to shunem, he stayed in her house. However, this woman and
her husband didn’t have any child. When Elisha discovered this, he told her to
expect a son, and in due course, she had a son.

Trouble
struck few years later when the child died, but the woman knew what to do. She
quickly dashed off to the Prophet Elisha with only one declaration on her lips,
“It is well”. Though there was a problem, she kept affirming that all was well.
She had an expectation, and she held on to that expectation even when it seemed
impossible; she kept on declaring it until she got it.

Just as this
woman did, you have to look at your situation through the eyes of your spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 says, “…..thanks
be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable…..”
Another
translation says, “……stand firm, let
nothing move you”
(NIV). God has given you the victory, so stand firm and
be unmovable. Don’t allow your thoughts and senses rule you, let God’s Word and
His Spirit direct you.

When trouble comes, God’s will is for
something good to come out of it. At such times, you must remember He is with
you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. If He delivered you in the past,
He will do it again. Call those times of deliverance to remembrance and express
your gratitude to God for them. That’s how to trust God and hold on to Him with
joy even in adversity.

What problem
are you facing today? Put God’s Word first, declare what He says about that
situation; be steadfast and unmovable in Him and declare with joy that all is
well! Amen!!!!

CONFESSION

I DECLARE THAT IT IS
WELL WITH ME. I’M NOT MOVED BY WHAT I SEE IN THE NATURAL BUT STAND FIRMLY ON
GOD’S WORD; AND THE POWER OF GOD IS RELEASED TO CAUSE A DESIRED CHANGE AS I
SPEAK THE WORD TO MY SITUATION IN JESUS CHRIST NAME. AMEN!

Holy Spirit is With You Forever

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

And I will pray the Father, and He
shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever (John
14:16).

Some Christians
think the Holy Spirit sometimes goes on a break, or takes a recess just because
at such times they didn’t “feel” His presence. You don’t have to “feel” God to
know that He’s with you. Rather, you ought to know that He’s with you always,
because the Word says so. Jesus said, “…….and,
lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen”
(Matthew
28:20). He didn’t say, “I’m with you only
when you can “feel” that I am.”
Many have reduced their experience of Christianity
to the carnal realm of feeling, and that’s so wrong, for we walk by faith and
not by sensory perceptions (2 Corinthians 5:7).

But you
might want to ask, “What if someone, having received the Holy Spirit at the New
Birth, backslides and feels that the Holy Spirit has left him or her, is this
just a feeling or was the Holy Spirit actually frustrated with all the sin in
such a person?” Well, God is not a man (Numbers 23:19), and He doesn’t act like
some earthly parents who wouldn’t relate with their kids for doing something
wrong. Sadly, this is the poor perception of God that some folks have.

That you did
something wrong won’t make the Holy Spirit leave you. Remember, you weren’t
made right with God because of your own righteousness; it came because God gave
you His righteousness. Thus, His presence with you isn’t dependent on what you
did right or wrong, or the way you feel. His presence is dependent on His
infallible Word; because of His love! That’s the reason He’ll never leave you
nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Read again
the words of Jesus in our opening verse, He said”And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter,
that He may abide with you forever”
(John 14:16). God the Father, through
the Holy Spirit abides with you forever, not sometimes. Don’t consider what
your feelings tell you. As long as you haven’t wilfully rejected Christ and His
sacrifice of salvation for you on the Cross, the Holy Spirit cannot and will
not leave you!

Even when
you err and start feeling as though the Holy Spirit has left you, it’s still
the Holy Spirit who guides you unto repentance, proving His presence with you
even at such times. If He left you, you could never return to Him! But He
wouldn’t, for He’s with you to fulfil His ministry in your life, till Jesus
comes. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

PRECIOUS LORD, I THANK
YOU FOR THE RICH FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHICH I ENJOY LAVISHLY TODAY,
AND FOREVER. WHAT JOY TO KNOW THAT I’M ORDAINED INTO THIS WONDERFUL UNION AND
FELLOWSHIP WITH YOU FOR ETERNITY! AMEN!

Faith, Hope and Love

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

And now abideth faith, hope, love,
these three, but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Faith, Hope
and Love are the three creative principles of the human spirit. They are also
abiding principles, as indicated in our opening verse. This means that when all
else fail, these tree principles will remain; they’ll never pass away.

Animals
don’t have and can’t exhibit these principles, for they are qualities of the
human spirit. They are factors that help us understand and appreciate the
yearnings of the human nature. They help explain why we are the way we are, and
why we do things the way we do. When you get to understand faith, hope, and
love, you’ll understand yourself much better and also understand things about
God that you never knew.

Like all
laws, these three principles of faith, hope, and love don’t function on their
own; they must be applied or acted upon. Faith, hope and love are in your
spirit, but that doesn’t mean they are going to work on their own. You’re the
one to make a choice to act your faith, to always be hopeful towards God and to
walk in love.

With your
faith, you can do anything (Matthew 17:20): then, Romans 5:5 tells us, that
hope never disappoints.

The reason
hope doesn’t disappoints is that the love of God is shed abroad in our heart by
the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Love in your heart gives life to your faith, for
the Bible says faith works by Love (Galatians 5:6). When you activate these
three principles in your life, you’ll be extraordinarily productive.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank You for granting
me understanding of faith, hope and love; I function today with these higher
principles of the kingdom, and declare that they’re producing positive
supernatural results as I put them to work
in my life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Follow The Holy Spirit At All Times

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth,
is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself,
but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things
to come (John 16:13)

One of the
things you must do throughout this year is to yield to the Holy Spirit and
follow His guidance and counsel in all your dealings. No other personality in
this life is worth following but the Holy Spirit. He’s the greatest friend and
teacher you could ever know; he’s the One called alongside to go with you, and
to be with you and in you! He’s the One who guides you into all truth and
brings His Word to your remembrance.

Following
the Holy Spirit means yielding yourself to Him through the Word of God. You
cannot follow the Holy Spirit except you’re yielded to God’s Word; doing what
He says. This will reflect the beauty of God in you and help you live a more
excellent life. You’ll find yourself making the best decisions and the right
choices always. You’ll do the right thing the first time, be at the right place
at the right time and live an inspiring life.

How
important it is to be led by the Holy Spirit of God in all your affairs! No one
but Him can give you the true counsel and guidance in life. So be sure to yield
to Him with all your heart. Isaiah 30:21 says “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying. This is the way,
walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”

Also, He said through the Psalmist in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I
will guide thee with my eye”.
This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit in
your life, take advantage of it today and you’ll never lose your way.

CONFESSION

I YIELD MYSELF TO YOU
PRECIOUS HOLY SPIRIT TO BE LED, INSTRUCTED AND DIRECTED IN ALL MY DEALINGS
TODAY, AND THROUGHOUT MY LIFE TIME! AND ALSO AS I DO THIS, MY ENTIRE LIFE IS
TRANSFORMED FROM GLORY TO GLORY, IN JESUS CHRIST MIGHTY NAME. AMEN!

Christians Are Called To Inherit Blessings And Not A Curse. You Can not be Cursed!

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh,
but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1)

According to
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome “I encountered a Christian woman recently who, on
account of certain misfortune she suffered over a period of time, came to the
conclusion that her predicament was the result of a curse. She wanted to know
from me if it was possible for a Christian to be under a curse. I explained to
her from the Word that a Christian can’t be under a curse because the Bible
says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation,
superior to satan; and so cannot be under a curse”.

A Christian
is called to inherit a blessing and not a curse (1Peter 3:9). This was the
promise of God to Abraham in Genesis 12:3: “And
I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee
shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
As believers in Christ, we have inherited the
blessing of Abraham. So the Bible teaches in Galatians 3:29: “And if ye be
Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Ignorance
of this truth is however the problem of all those who believe the reason they’re
not doing well in life is because they are under the influence of a curse or
some voodoo spell.

If you’re
born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, no one can place a curse on you! Even
if they tried, it wouldn’t work, for the Bible says no weapon fashioned against
you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Numbers 23:23 says, “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any
divination against Israel……”
 So you
see, you don’t need any deliverance or special prayers for a curse to be lifted
from your life, for the truth is, you cannot be cursed.

Look at it
this way, if you were to be cursed as a child of God, who is to see to it that
the curse produces result? Is it the devil? You’re more powerful than the
devil. Is it God? God is your Heavenly Father, why would He supervise a curse
against you? The only Christian, however, who can be under a curse, is the one
who is at variance with the Word of God. When you ignore the Word of God, you
take yourself outside the protective cover of the Word, and that in itself is a
curse. But as long as you stay in the Word, you’ll be like a tree planted by
the rivers of water; fruitful and productive for eternity! Praise God!

PRAYER

DEAR FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR YOUR
WORD. IT’S IN MY HEART AND MY MOUTH TODAY! I MEDITATE UPON IT DAY AND NIGHT AND
THEREBY MAKE MY WAY PROSPEROUS. I CANNOT BE CURSED BECAUSE YOUR WORD IS MY LIFE
AND YOUR BLESSING REMAINS MY PORTION, IN JESUS CHRIST NAME. AMEN!

In The Name Of Jesus Christ Of Nazareth Heal The Sick

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Stained glass at St John the Baptist’s Anglican Church http://www.stjohnsashfield.org.au, Ashfield, New South Wales. Illustrates Jesus’ description of himself “I am the Good Shepherd” (from the Gospel of John, chapter 10, verse 11). This version of the image shows the detail of his face. The memorial window is also captioned: “To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of William Wright. Died 6th November, 1932. Aged 70 Yrs.” (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Then He called His twelve disciples
together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure
disease. And He sent them to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick
(Luke 9:1-2)

God wants us
to pray with faith, boldness and the expectation that what we decree in prayer
will come to pass. He has given us the authority in the Name of Jesus to issue
decrees with daring audacity and have them established.

Some
religious folks however gripe at our boldness, asking, “Who do they think they
are, giving such decrees?” They expect us for instance, to pray and ask God to
heal the sick, instead of taking it upon ourselves to command the sick to be
healed in the Name of Jesus. Well, first of all, the Bible never says we should
pray to God to heal the sick rather, we’re to heal the sick.

There’s no
place in the Scripture where God asks that we pray to Him to heal the sick. In
Matthew 10:8, Luke 9:2, Luke 10:9, Jesus charged the disciples to heal the
sick; He didn’t ask them to pray to Him or to the Father to heal the sick. In
Mark 16:17-18 He said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my
name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall
take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they
shall recover”
. Jesus made it clear that we believers have been given the
authority in His Name to heal the sick.

In the third
chapter of the book of Acts, while Peter and John were at the gate of the
temple called Beautiful, they met a man who was impotent in his feet, never
walked from birth. Notice Peter’s language to the man: “…..Silver and gold have
I none; but such as I have give I thee:
in the Name Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk”
(Acts 3:6). He
didn’t pray that God should heal the sick man. He was conscious of the
authority he had and knew that though he couldn’t give the man money at that
point in time, he could ‘give’ him healing in the Name of Jesus.

The nature
of God has been imparted to your spirit if you’re born again, therefore you’re
to reign as a king in life (Romans 5:17 AMP).

When you
pray for the sick, made bold decrees! Command the devils responsible for the
sickness to come out and that the sick be healed in the Name of Jesus. Expect a
change every time you issue such commands. This is the kind of prayer James
refers to as the prayer of faith in James 5:15.

PRAYER

DEAR FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR MY WORDS
ARE IMBUED WITH AUTHORITY FROM SPIRIT. THEREFORE, I SPEAK FORTH
AUTHORITATIVELY, HEALING THE SICK, CLEANSING THE LEPERS, RAISING THE DEAD,
CASTING OUT DEVILS, AND DEMONSTRATING GOD’S LOVE TO MY WORLD, IN THE NAME OF
JESUS CHRIST, AMEN!

Enjoy Your God’s Given Life.

Jesus

Image via Wikipedia

When your
alarm clock goes off in the morning do you wish you could just stay in bed? Do
your struggles and responsibilities weigh you down with frustration, boredom or
hopeless? If these sentiments describe the way you feel about life, then you
are not enjoying the fullness of life that Christ offers. He is not only our
saviour but also our burden-bearer. God wants you to have a much better life –
one that you enjoy! God will give you the ability to enjoy life, no matter what.

Here’s how you can enjoy your life

Notice God’s
gifts and thank Him for them. Make it a daily practice to thank God for each
new day when you wake up from bed.

Throughout
the day, keep your mind on the good things in your life for which you’re
grateful. Don’t forget to acknowledge basic blessings such as your ability to
breathe, eat or smile.

Turn your
worries into prayers. Whenever a worry enters your mind, find a promise of God
that responds to it and turn it into prayer point. Know that worry can’t accomplish
anything good, but faith in the LORD has great power, since nothing is
impossible with God!

Be specific
as you share your concern with God and trust Him to answer your prayers in the
right way at the right time.

Look for
fulfilment in the right place. Stop looking for true and lasting satisfaction
in the wrong places, such as through your work, personal pleasure or
accumulation of knowledge or material possessions. Realize that only God can
provide the fulfilment you seek. Make a strong relationship with Him your top
priority.

Prayer: Lord, I celebrate your
goodness in my life and thank You for Your mercies! Amen!

Psalm 63:1-11.

Faith Is Based On The Word Of God, Not “Optimism”

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

So then faith cometh by
hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

The faith that works and produces result is the one that’s
based on God’s Word. Someone may say, “I’m very hopeful and confident about the
future; I’m optimistic that the miracle I’m expecting will come to pass!” as
beautiful as that may sound, it’s not faith. You must have the Word of God as
the basis for your believing and confession, for faith is based on God’s Word;
it’s the response of the human spirit to the Word of God.

Faith is expressed when you act on the Word. The Apostle Paul
expounded in the Book of Romans how Abraham demonstrated strong faith on the
basis of what God told him in Genesis 17:5 “……for
a father of many nations have I made thee”
. hence the Bible says “He staggered
not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving
glory to God” (Romans 4:20). Abraham had God’s Word as evidence and spoke in
agreement with God; that was how his faith prevailed.

Another example is the story of the Syrophenician woman in
mark 7 ; a remarkable example of true faith. Her young daughter had an unclean spirit,
so she came and fell at the feet of the Master and beseeched Him to cast the
devil out her daughter (Mark 7:25-26). But in verse twenty seven, Jesus said to
her, “……let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the
children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.” Her response was “……yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table
eat of the children’s crumbs”
(Mark 7:28). Commending her faith, the Lord
Jesus said “…..For this saying goes thy
way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. And when she was come to her house,
she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed”
(Mark
7:29-30). Observe that she acted on what Jesus said and went home; when she got
home she found her daughter healed. She didn’t act on mere optimism or impulse
of what she thought would happen, but on the Master’s infallible word.

Mere optimism is not a substitute for faith, for it doesn’t
have its foundation on God’s Word. It doesn’t matter how much you anticipate or
are hopeful for the best possible outcome in an endeavour, it still wouldn’t
work if your hope doesn’t translate to faith. True faith transcends the realms
of human theories, reasoning, impulses and optimism because faith is spiritual
and only come to you through the Word of God. So, for your faith to work and
produce results, it’s got to be based on God’s Word.

PRAYER

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, I
REJOICE TODAY AT YOUR WORD THAT’S BUILDING MY FAITH STRONG AND ENRICHING ME IN
ALL THINGS. YOUR WORD IS MY LIFE, AND THE LIGHT THAT SHOWS ME HOW TO WALK IN
THE PATHS OF VICTORY, PROSPERITY AND SUCCESS, FROM DAY TO DAY, IN JESUS CHRIST
NAME, AMEN!
