King Of Kings

King of kings

What make a king different from other people? Although a king looks just like any other person yet he is not an ordinary person. One difference is that everything he touches becomes unique. If an ordinary person sits on a chair, it remains a chair no matter how flamboyantly designed it is, but if a king sits on a chair, it becomes a throne. When an ordinary person wears a cap, it remains a cap, but when a king wears a cap, it becomes a crown. Walking stick in the hands of an ordinary fellow has no special value, but if that same walking stick is found in the hands of a king, it becomes a staff of office. One of the titles of our Lord is KING of kings. This is an amazing title because it carries His brethren along. That is, if you belong to Him, you have automatically become a king under His kingdom.

If there is one word that clearly demarcates a king from his subjects, it is the word “Control”. When the question, “Who is King here?” is raised, we are indirectly asking who is the one in control. Unlike the limited spheres or control operated by earthly kings, The King of kings, The King of kings controls the heavens hence He can decide to open or shut it because it is the work of His hands (Isaiah 66:1; Malachi 3:10). He also controls rainfall hence Amos 4:7 says He can cause rain to fall on one part of a city and leave the other part dry. He controls the earth as Psalm 24:1 says it is His, with everything in it. By His power over the earth, He can make it to bring an increase and ensure you reap from seeds sown. If you relate very well with Him and make Him happy, He will cause the earth to always give you a good harvest. Moreover, He can fight using the earth. He can cause the earth to open and swallow the enemy (Numbers 16:32). He can also shake the earth at will. In Acts 16:25-26, when some people tried to terminate the ministry of His servants – Paul and Silas – God shook the earth, and opened prison doors. This season, the Lord will shake the earth in your favour and break every evil chain holding you down, Amen!

Cultivate a good relationship with the King of kings today.

Prayer Point:  The heart of every king is in the hands of the King of kings. Ask Him to influence them to work in your favour, Amen!

On His robe and on His thigh was written the name: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORD.” (Revelations 19:16)

Delight yourself in The Lord

Psalm 37:4: “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart”

So many Christians are preoccupied with fulfilling their purpose in life. Rather than looking for the purpose, PURPOSE TO PLEASE THE LORD.

Delight yourself in Him and He will unveil that which He has called you to do! Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

From Hot For Christ To Dead To Christ

I know what you have done; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! But because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth! You say, “I am rich and well off; I have all I need”. But you do not know how miserable and pitiful you are! You are poor, naked, and blind.
Revelation 3:15-17

The word “Spit” means to vomit you up. In order to vomit something, you
had to have ingested it at some point. It was in you. It was part of
you, but it became so troubling to you that it had to come out.

This church is prosperous and has allowed its prosperity to dull it. Many times people start out working hard and experience success. They experience blessings. The pressure isn’t on
them anymore. Their bills are paid, and things are going well. That zeal becomes dulled, and they become lukewarm.

To God, being lukewarm means that you were on fire and then you became cold because good things were happening. You became prosperous. You were enjoying good health. Your children were doing well. Life was good. And instead of that firing you up, you became lukewarm. God is not against prosperity, but He is against prosperity changing you.

I know of a man in our church one time who didn’t have anything going for him. He wanted to learn the Word of God, so the pastor taught him. He became prosperous; in fact, he became a millionaire. But when He became wealthy, his zeal disappeared. We stopped seeing him at church; he had other things to do. The end result was that he became very cold to the things of God and backslid. He ended his life by committing suicide. Yes, it is possible to go from being hot to being dead.

Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father!
All that I am and all that I have belongs to You. You gave me strength
to prosper, and You have blessed me. I praise You for being true to
Your name and Your Word. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Years ago, when I was a student at the University of California at Berkeley, I developed a friendship with a fellow student who had suffered a terrible loss. His child had died and his wife had left him because she couldn’t deal with the pain.

One day, as my friend and I were walking down the street, we found ourselves behind a dishevelled mother with a grubby little boy in hand. She was angry at the child and was walking much too fast, towing him at a pace his little legs couldn’t maintain.

We reached a busy intersection where the child abruptly stopped and his hand slipped out of his mother’s grasp. She turned around, spat out a curse, and trudged on. The little boy sat down on the curb and burst into tears. Without a moment’s hesitation, my friend sat down next to him and gathered the little guy in his arms.

The woman turned and, looking at the child, began to curse again. My friend sighed and looked up. “Lady,” he said softly, “If you don’t want him, I’ll take him.”

So it is with our Father in heaven. He too has known great loss and loves us just as tenderly. Even if our friends and family forsake us, our God never will (Ps. 27:10). We are ever in His care. —David Roper

Proverbs 30:4-5: “Who has mastered heavenly knowledge? Who has ever caught the wind in His hand? Or wrapped up water in a piece of cloth? Or fixed the boundaries of the earth? Who is He, if you know? Who is His son? God keeps every promise He makes. He is like a shield for all who seek His protection”
An average believer makes a casual commitment to God and
serves Him only because of what He can do for them. Let us never
forget WHO HE IS! He is THE MIGHTY GOD and deserves reverence and
full devotion. It’s time to make the adjustments and serve Him
because of Who He is.

Engraved in God’s Heart

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Engraved in God’s Heart

The finger of God is an agent of creation and a mark of God’s authority. They were also used in writing His laws. Deuteronomy 9:9-11 says God wrote the Ten Commandments with His finger on tablets of stone. Every author writes a book or put words and sentences together in order to convey certain ideas or opinions for others to read. The fact that God wrote the Ten Commandments with His own fingers established the fact that He and not Moses is the Author. God not only writes on stones, He writes on men. After Cain killed his brother Abel and God judged him, he requested for a reduction in the punishment, being scared that anyone who sights him might kill him. As a result, God wrote on him – He put a mark of “Untouchable” on him so that anyone who saw him from that day would not touch him. With God’s mark on Cain, he was free to serve his punishment without anyone touching him. Even today, God can put a mark upon you which will make you untouchable. Paul had this mark. He says: “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. Galatians 6:17”

This mark is also a mark of divine ownership. In other words, when the finger of God writes on you, the enemy will immediately realise that you are a property of the King of kings and so they cannot just toy with you. Paul got his divine branding in the course of being persecuted for Christ. Have you been so branded? Apart from this, God said a time was coming when He would write His commandments on the tables of the hearts of men and they shall serve Him with ease. That time is now! Today, as you study His Word daily, ask Him to inscribe His laws upon the tables of your heart so that you will no more stray from His Will (Hebrews 8:9-13).

Servants are branded and their owners recognise them by the mark on them. Do you have any mark that identifies you as God’s property? Is His mark of ownership vivid? Are His laws written in your heart? Have you become untouchable? If any of these is lacking, run to the cross today!

Prayer Point: Father! Give me hatred for sin. Help me to hate sin as much as You hate it! In Jesus Christ  Name I pray, Amen!

Never Give Up Attitude

Never give up attitude

Dear Friend,

There has never been a greater opportunity for the church of Jesus Christ to shine with the glory of the Lord. However, we must make certain we develop a “never give
up” attitude. Proverbs 24:16 “for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises
again…”

In every circumstance of life there are choices to be made. You must decide what
you will do in times of crisis, when you make a mistake, or when you experience
failure. It’s not about falling, it’s about rising again. Your enemy is intimidated
by your tenacity to never quit and to never give up.

So today I boldly decree your attitude is right, your faith is focused, and you
are expressing the reality that satan cannot win if I don’t quit. Hallelujah!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

• I shall continually meditate and stand on the Word of God
• I will not be a dwarf in the spirit
• I shall live holy
• I shall grow in the things of the Lord
• I shall come to the full measure of the statue of Christ
• My walk with God will daily be deeper and stronger
• I am a friend of God
• My life will bring glory to the name of the Lord

The Prodigal Son

Return of the prodigal son (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The Prodigal Son

A teenage boy once borrowed a fast car, and in a drunken stupor, sped through his home town at 180km/h. Since everything was horse-driven in his home town, there were no laws against speeding. So the town council passed a law saying that 80km/h was the maximum speed, and that any transgressors would be fined N 10,000.00 for every km/h over the speed limit. On his way back through the town, the speedstar decided to pull the same prank. He was apprehended, tried and found guilty by his father, who was the town’s only judge. He was fined N 1,000,000.00 and because he had no money and no word of defence the teenage boy was led off to prison.

As he sat in despair in prison, his father appeared at the gate, and told him he had sold all his prized possessions and paid the fine for him. The son couldn’t believe that he loved him that much. They embraced like they never had before and walked off in a new-found relationship, bonded together with love.

We have all broke God’s laws, a multitude of times; the greatest which says “LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND” but God came to this earth in the person of Jesus Christ, and paid the fine for us. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE”. The Bible says “He Who Has The Son, Has Life…….

Ask Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins. Thank Him for He suffered on the cross in your place and say I put my entire trust in you as my Lord and Personal Saviour, Amen!

Change is coming

Change is coming

1 Corinthians 13:10

“But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away with.”
NKJV

Most all of us hate change. We like our routines and desire to walk through life not having to change it up too often. Maybe this is because we like to feel we are in control and anything we are not ready for frightens us. Well friend, there is something coming that I pray you are ready for. This change will affect you, me and everyone on the face of our planet. It’s something far more powerful than a war or natural disaster, in fact, it’s not a something at all – it’s a someone.

Revelation 21:4 “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” NKJV

In the blink of an eye, every follower of Christ on earth will be made new. The old will pass and the new will come. We will see our Lord face to face and our lives will never be the same. Yes, this change is the greatest change of all, but we must be ready or we’ll miss it. You see, we do not know the day or hour of this change, but we do know how we can prepare. God’s Word is clear. We have a choice here on earth to follow Him and find forgiveness of sin and hope of heaven or reject Him and find judgment. If you have never asked God to forgive you of your sins and trusted in Jesus as your Saviour, then today is the day. There are many promises in the Bible, but tomorrow is not one of them. Pray to Him today and you’ll be ready for the day when everything changes for eternity.

Life Lesson: One day everything will change – everything.

Dear God,
I know that I have done wrong things. I pray that You would forgive me of my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and that He was raised from the dead. Today, I trust in Him and ask that You fill me with Your Spirit so that I can share this wonderful news with a lost and hurting world. In Jesus Christ  Name, Amen.

Yours Kindness Quotient

Your Kindness Quotient

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10

What is your kindness quotient?

When was the last time you did something kind for someone in your family? What about your school or workplace?

Who is the most overlooked or avoided? A shy student? A grumpy employee?

Maybe he doesn’t speak the language. Maybe she doesn’t fit in. Are you kind to this person?

Kind hearts are quietly kind. They let the car cut into traffic. They let the young mom with three kids move up in the checkout line.

Paul writes in Galatians 6:10: “When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.”

The neediest person you meet all week may be the one sitting behind you in worship service. People are watching the way we act more than they’re listening to what we say!

The Antidote for Fear

The Antidote for Fear

Trust in God; trust also in me.

John 14:1, NIV

Jesus commanded His disciples to “trust in God; trust also in me.” The antidote for fear is faith.

When I toss and turn in the middle of the night, worried and fearful over something that is impending in my life or the life of someone I love, I am comforted and calmed as I meditate on Who God is. It helps me plant my faith in Someone Who is bigger than my fears. I just fall back on Who God is and rest in Him. He cannot be less than Himself! And my God is God!

Next time you feel afraid, make up a list – not of your fears but of the characteristics of God. Find a Scripture verse or passage to substantiate each one as you reconsider your situation in light of Who God is. Then, if you feel it would be helpful to list your fears, make sure beside each one you write down the attribute of God that applies. The secret to peace lies in your focus.

Just for You

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
Psalm 65:7-9

I’m about to tell you something that may stretch your imagination! You don’t have to agree. You don’t have to buy it. Just think about it!

If you were the only person on earth, the earth would look exactly the same. The Himalayas would still have their drama and the Caribbean would still have its charm. The sun would still nestle behind the Rockies in the evenings, and spray light on the desert in the mornings.

If you were the sole pilgrim on this globe, God would not diminish its beauty one degree. He’s waiting for you to stumble into the den, rub the sleep from your eyes, and see the bright red bike he assembled just for you!

He’s waiting for your eyes to pop and your heart to stop! In the silence he leans forward and whispers… “I did it just for you!”

Our Home, God’s Church

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Our Home, God’s Church

The church is not a gathering of strangers, like fans at a ball game who just happen to be sitting next to each other. The church is a community of individuals spiritually linked together with the purpose of reflecting and legislating the values of the kingdom of God.

The church is critical in the process of growing mature disciples who imitate Jesus Christ because Jesus is relational. Jesus Himself stated the key identifier that would tell us who were His disciples and who were not, and that is our love for one another.

God’s people are so vitally connected that we’re like members of the same physical body. The parts of your body are in a relationship with the other parts. Just smash your thumb or stub your toe, and you’ll have a good biblical reminder of the interrelationship of your bodily members. Once you disconnect a body part, you cut off its ability to function because it is separated from the source of its life.

That is why Paul calls the Church the “household of God.” Your home is supposed to be the place where you give and receive love unconditionally. It takes more than the paid professional staff in a church to produce this kind of love. It has to come from each one of us toward each other in dynamic relationships that encourage and edify each other.

For God’s Kingdom

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Keeping Up With the Joneses

English: 4 days of Evangelism Training in Sout...

Keeping Up With the Joneses

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in
whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to
be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I
am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and
to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me

Philippians 4:11-13

People get into financial trouble when they violate the scriptural principle of not coveting. To covet is to long after something. We’re
supposed to fix our desire upon Jesus. He is the one whom we long after
and follow.

The mentality of the world (and a lot of believers stay in the way of
the world) is that they have to keep up with the Joneses. Or else they
have big eyes, desiring everything they see. When people run after
money so they can be fulfilled, they are guilty of coveting. Coveting
gets you into trouble.

God has promised to give you abundance because He loves you and you
obey Him. But life is not based on what you have. Your life is in
Jesus. He is your sufficiency. All the rest is just bonus material that
God gives you to use as you bring more people to Jesus.

God Or Man Pleasers

John 5:43-44, “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?”

JOHN 5:28-47

This is in reference to the fact that Jesus came in the power and authority of His father to point men to Father God. Jesus existed before His advent on this earth in the form of God and was equal with God. Yet, He humbled Himself and became a servant while here on earth (Phil. 2:6-8).

He did not come to promote Himself but to give His life to provide the way to the Father (Jn. 14:6). In the same way, the Holy Spirit does not exalt Himself, but points all men unto Jesus. Jesus came, meek and lowly, totally submitted unto and seeking only to please the Father.

This is radically different from the way so called “great men” present themselves. The Roman Caesar of Jesus’ day proclaimed that he was God and demanded worship. Lesser leaders ruled by exalting themselves over the people they governed; but, Jesus showed us that “whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mt. 20:26-28).

If we are concerned about what people think in an attempt to gain their approval (or honour), we will never take a stand in faith for anything that might be criticized. This one thing has probably stopped as many people from receiving from God as anything else. You cannot be a “man-pleaser” and please God at the same time. Commit your all to Him – every thought, word, and deed.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalms 119:105

God Has Stacked the Deck!

Followers of Jesus Christ have a tremendous advantage that allows us to navigate the peaks and valleys of this world. God in His infinite wisdom created a manual for living that encompasses life from its beginning to its end.

It tells us all the attributes of the God we serve, chronicles His walk on earth and prescribes our path to eternal salvation. His manual covers all aspects of life. It leaves us without any want for knowledge.

Yet in spite of God’s best efforts, many believers are confused and disheartened. Our confusion comes from not reading the Scriptures for all they are worth.

The Lord urges us to meditate on His Word. It is a “lamp onto our feet and a light unto our path” (Psalms 119:105). When digested, His Word illuminates the path before us, allowing us to have insight and foresight.

Oh, what a blessing for the believer who spends time in the Word. There is no problem too difficult, no circumstance too overwhelming, no situation beyond comprehension. Get into the Word; God has already provided the answers. It’s all in His book… the Bible. Study His Word today.

Your Pay Day Will Come

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Your pay day will come

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed towards His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (Hebrews 6:10)

Apart from the possibility of encountering an extraordinary blessing on an ordinary day, another lesson from the story of Moses recorded in Exodus 2:5-10, is that God has different ways of rewarding His own. Hebrews 6:10 says God does not forget your labour of love. Every seed you have sown into the kingdom shall attract its reward. Have you been a blessing to your spiritual parents? You shall be rewarded. Every work or effect, as long as it is an act of faith, will elicit Heaven’s reward. After Moses was born, his mother was able to see beyond the physical that he was a child of destiny and so, contrary to the king’s decree and probably pressures from those around, she decided to hide the child until she could hide him no more. She wanted God’s purpose to be accomplished in the life of her son, and so was prepared to risk her life in the process. What if the soldiers had found the boy in his hiding place? She could have lost her life. God saw her act of faith and took over from where she stopped. Eventually, God decided to pay her for her faith and sacrifice.

“And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her. Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages.  And the woman took the child, and nursed it.” (Exodus 2:9). God knows how to reward His children. He also has diverse ways of doing this. He can reward you directly. He can reward you through your husband, wife, child or relative; He can reward you through your place of work, He can reward you through an old but forgotten acquaintance; He can reward you through those you do not know. He can even reward you through your enemies. In the case of Moses’ mother, God rewarded her faith by reuniting her son with her under the tightest security arrangement. Also, she was handsomely paid to do what she knew best-taking care of her son. She became the only Israelite woman that the government paid and protected to keep her baby alive, while all other baby boys were condemned to die. Not even the Egyptians babies got one hundredth of such privilege! Are you afraid to take a step of faith? Go ahead and take it; you cannot tell what it will deliver to you. Are you a teacher of toddlers and teens, or are you a parent taking care of your children? Do it faithfully and the owner, The Most High, will more than handsomely reward you.

Key Point: Many parents will lose their earthly or eternal reward for failing to take adequate care of their children.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
