Marriage: Not a Cure for Loneliness or Sadness

Marriage is not a cure for loneliness.
Marriage is not a cure for horniness.
Marriage is not a cure for sadness.
Marriage is not a cure for emptiness.
Marriage is not a cure for brokenness.
If you get married expecting it to resolve all these issues, all you really did was make breaking up more expensive. Love is for everyone, but marriage is for the matured.
Instead of praying for an opportunity, first ask God to prepare you for the opportunity so that when you receive the blessing you can handle the measure of responsibility attached to it.
Many are asking for something that their character cannot maintain. Marriage is too big for you to enter into with little understanding.
Marriage is not an experiment. It’s a divine covenant that you enter into advisedly, soberly and reverently. You don’t get married to just try it out. You get married to LIVE IT OUT, WORK IT OUT AND LOVE IT OUT!!!
Many people have a plan to build, but not a strategy to sustain and maintain what they’ve prayed for. Longevity must be a part of the blueprint. If God’s kingdom is eternal, then what we build must be built on longevity in mind. It’s bigger than cosmetics and having a sexy curves and pretty face.
Anyone can engage. Anyone can elope. Anyone can exchange vows… but can you endure?
Forever is such a long time to be miserable!
Marriage is not an experiment. Don’t try it out. Go into it knowing this is what you want, where you want to be and who you want to be with or else your experiment will become an experience you desperately want to escape.
Everyone wants the wedding, but can you stand the marriage? Most of us only love based on condition and convenience.
Can you stand the test when God allows your marriage boat to rock just a little or will you jump ship?
You have to want more than just the pretty pictures. It’s about having something REAL AND WORTH PRESERVING.
Being married won’t heal you and being single won’t kill you. Don’t rush. Don’t force it. Don’t be desperate for it and don’t settle just for anyone.
A lot of people promise FOREVER until they realize how much work FOREVER is.

Tell Them About Jesus.
Matthew_5-16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven
Text.
Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 5:19
19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
Introduction.
Talking about Jesus is a command by the master Himself. This is called witnessing. Anyone who has experienced Jesus is compiled to tell the world about the Saviour of mankind. The grace we need to talk about Jesus, may we receive it in Jesus Name. Amen!
What Can We Talk Or Tell About Jesus.
1. We Can Tell Of His Power To Save.
Matthew 1:21
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matthew 9:1-6
Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.
2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”
4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?
5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.”
2. We Can Tell Of His Power To Heal.
Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
3. We Can Tell Of His Power To Deliver.
Mark 5:1-13
And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
4. We Can Tell Of His Power To Transform Lives.
Acts 9:1-20
And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
Conclusion.
Every genuine Christian will surely have something to tell about Jesus in his or her life. What can you say about Jesus?

Text.
John 1:1-14
Introduction.
There has never been any man who walked on the face of this earth like Jesus Christ. He is God who became man. John 1:1-14.
There Is No Name Like Jesus.
Philippians 2:9-11
“9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father..”
All Begins And Ends With Jesus.
Colossians 1:17
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
What Jesus Did For Us.
No man has done more for the human race than Jesus Christ has.
Matthew 1:21”And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Jesus Saves By His Blood.
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Jesus Heals By His Stripes.
1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Exodus 15:26 “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
Jesus Delivers By Being The Truth.
John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Jesus Supplies Through His Riches.
Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Jesus Protects Through His Superior Fighting Ability.
Philippians 2:9-11
“9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Psalm 24:7-10
“7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.”
WHAT JESUS EXPECTS FROM US.
He expects certain things from us in return. He expects us to have faith in Him, submit to Him, Obey Him, win souls and follow them up until they become established and to watch and pray.
1. Prayer can determine who is chosen and who is not for a particular position. Although merit and hard work are vital criteria for being chosen to occupy a vacancy at the top, however, prayer can produce mercy, which can reorganise the situation in one’s favour-
Zechariah 1:17 “The angel also told me to proclaim: “The Lord Almighty says that his cities will be prosperous again and that he will once again help Jerusalem and claim the city as his own.”
Matthew 20:16 “ So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”
2. Not only will prayer determine who is chosen, it also determines what we inherit or possess. How a need is met can be determined by the type of prayer that is made- Psalm 47:4 “He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved” Prayer is heaven’s currency for purchasing your blessings. The blessing you take from heaven’s store house will depend on how much you paid in prayer.
Conclusion.
Pray until your joy is full (John 16:24)

Conqueror Of Death! Jesus!
Revelation_21-4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away
Text
1 Corinthians 15:54-57
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Introduction
Death is the opposite of life, the departure of life. It is the separation of the body, soul and spirit. The body is destroyed and the spirit goes back to God.
What Are The Causes Of Death?
- Disobedience to God
James 1:15
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. -
Sin
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -
Dishonesty
Ezekiel 22:13
Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
- Pride
Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Ambition for power
Act 8:19
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
Who Can Conquer Death?
- Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 15:15
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
- Those Who surrender their lives unto Jesus Christ
John 10:10

How Do We Conquer Death?
- By rapture
1 Corinthian 15:55
O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?
By living the life of holiness
1 Peter 1:15-16
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Conclusion
Jesus Christ died that you and I mighty live.
Philippians_3-10: All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death

Thank You Jesus
“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21
Matthew_1-21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins
It’s hard to imagine what it was like for Jesus to live under the shadow of the cross every day of His life. Even as a lad in Joseph’s carpenter shop, nailing those nails into a piece of lumber, He must’ve thought about the day when those soldiers would drive the nails in His hands and in His feet.
One of my favourite pictures of Jesus portrays Christ as a toddler. It’s the end of the day. He’s playing next to His father, Joseph, in his carpentry shop and the sun is setting. And as Jesus is kneeling down handling some metal spikes, the shadow of a cross is formed on the ground over His shoulder.
Jesus lived every day of His life in anticipation of that moment when He would give His life on the cross for our sins. So it was no surprise when He, at about 33 years of age, was arrested, beaten, and sentenced to die for the sins of the world.
And even harder than that is to imagine that when He died, He made a way for you to have a relationship with God. So thank Jesus today for what He did for you and, if you haven’t already, accept the gift of salvation He’s given you through His death and resurrection.
Jesus Lived Every Day In Light Of What He Would Do For You On The Cross. So Thank Him And Trust That He’s Saved You From Death!
1-Peter_2-24: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed

My Jesus Loves To Heal, Deliver, Prosper And Save People
John_9-25: He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
John 14:7
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
Someone once told me that just because you ask God for something, it does not mean that He will give it to you. Quoting 1 John 5:14–15, he said that we first have to ask according to His will before He hears and gives us what we ask of Him.
Of course, we do not ask for things that are against God’s will or Word. But what is normally implied in the earlier statement is that we don’t always know what God’s will for us is—“what will be, will be”. But didn’t Jesus say, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father”? (John 14:9) This means that if you want to know what the Father’s will, mind, heart or attitude toward you and your family is, just look at Jesus in the Gospel stories.
So if your child is sick, is it God’s will to heal him? Well, look at Jesus and see how He ministered to children who were sick—the Syro-Phoenician’s daughter who was demon-possessed (Mark 7:24–30), Jairus’ daughter who was dead (Mark 5:22–24, 35–43), and the widow of Nain’s only son who had died and was about to be buried. (Luke 7:12–15) Jesus cast out the demon. He raised the dead. He healed them all!
Beloved, don’t say, “We can never know God’s will. Sometimes He heals, sometimes He doesn’t. He may bless us, but He may also take away our blessings.” The Jesus of the Bible never made anyone sick. He never made anyone poor. He made the little become much with 12 baskets full of leftovers. (Matthew 14:20) He gave a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish to fishermen. (Luke 5:6–7)
My friend, the Jesus of the Bible loves to heal, deliver, prosper and save people. This Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) And He says to you today, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” So you can know God’s will for you. You can see what He will do for you when you know the Jesus of the Bible and what He did.

I Love You Lord! Happy Birthday Jesus
Deuteronomy_6-5: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

I have discovered that everyone wants to love God. At least, everyone wants to show God that they love him. Oftentimes, people have asked me, how do I know if I love God? The answer is simple.
In 1 John 14:15, the Bible says, “If you love me, keep my commandments”. That is very direct and simple enough to understand. If you say you love God, just do what He says. In verse 21 of the same chapter, the same condition is repeated. The proof of your love for God is in your willingness to obey His voice. Do not just read the Bible for religious exercise; keep His words. And you say, it is not easy to keep God’s commandments. Yes I agree, but at least, you must be seen to be making efforts.
You see, righteousness is a practice. There is the righteousness that God gives to us which we receive when we get born again. He makes us righteous. Now, after you are born again, you start to practice righteousness; just like a baby is taught how to sit down. You know when a baby is newly born, say a few days old, you cannot force the baby to sit down. But after some weeks, the mother begins to teach the baby to sit down, from there the baby is taught how to crawl, how to stand; one step at a time. When all these things are happening, the baby will be falling and rising. Now, will you say because the baby is falling and rising, he should not practice anymore? Of course not.
Some of us believers do not practice righteousness. Many times, we forget how we used to practice sin… Some of us became chain smokers because we practiced smoking. The first day I tried to smoke, I was choked but that did not deter me. I kept on practicing until I perfected the act. The same way you practice righteousness. You must purpose in your heart that when you see something in the scriptures, you want to act on it. That’s how maturity comes.
The Bible says in 1 John 5:3 that “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments and His commandments are grievous”. They are not as hard as you assume. Mind you the commandments are not given to please God but for your own good.
Decide today to love God, not in words, but in deeds. Then watch Him embarrass you with His blessings.

O Lord Give Me The Boldness To Always Step Out In Faith, To Demonstrate Your Awesome Power To The World

O Lord Give Me The Boldness To Always Step Out In Faith, To Demonstrate Your Awesome Power To The World
“And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”
Mark 16:20 (KJV)
After the Lord had spoken and given instructions to his disciples, He was received up into heaven. Immediately, they went forth and began to preach everywhere. And as they stepped out in faith in obedience to God’s word, God’s power was demonstrated mightily.
Do you know what the church has done? We decorate our stained windows. We have a good choir and smiling ushers and greeters. We preach good sermons. And we are now sitting down in church waiting for sinners to come to us. We make the church beautiful and use all kinds of media promotion. But that is not God’s strategy. God’s strategy is that power is released in obedience. Power is not released when we act contrary to divine instructions.
In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the word of God declares: “and it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God to observe and to do all his commandments,…………all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee” (KJV). Notice that God began to work with the disciples when they chose to function in obedience. “The Lord working with them” God is saying in essence; the new strategy is that I am not going to do it alone. “We will work together”. The disciples went everywhere. They did not sit down in church. We have not seen signs because we are sitting down.
According to Ephesians 5:30: “we are members of His body, of his flesh and of his bones” (KJV). That means that the anointing can only flow today through us. We are the body, He is the Head. The head can’t get things done without the body. Jesus cannot heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils or do good to any person if you don’t do it. No one can experience Jesus if you don’t step out in faith to demonstrate His power. May the Lord give you boldness. Amen!

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

It Is Awesome For God To Send His Son Jesus Christ To Die In My Place

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:12-13
Salvation is a wonderful gift of God to mankind, it is awesome for God to send His son to die in our place and thereby redeem us from sin and satan and reconcile us to Himself. It is a free gift from God and once we confess our sins, ask for forgiveness and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we are saved, it’s straightforward.
Nevertheless, many Christians struggle in their walk with God, as they feel once they get saved things just begin to work out, they feel they ought to become holy and immune to temptation automatically. Our text today makes it clear that, there is work to be done on our own part, it is like the case of a student who wants a university degree and has been given a free entry and scholarship into the university, the student still has to study, he can’t just assume he will graduate automatically without any effort on his own part, he has to attend lectures, study hard, write exams and pass.
So our walk with God requires ‘work’, we have to cultivate, carry out the goal, and fully complete our salvation; we need to work it for it to work for us. We need to know that it is a walk of Faith, (2 Corinthians 5:7), and not of fear that comes from sight walking, when we pray, we should believe that God will answer and ‘act’ accordingly.
We also ought to walk with self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ.
Most important of all , we must know that we cannot do it by our power, and that it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in us [energizing and creating in us the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
It becomes easier when we have more of God in our lives and less of ‘us’ in us.
Confession
I will not be lazy with regards of my salvation, I have the grace and strength to continuously work it out. Hallelujah!
