Are You A Doer? Or A Hearer Of The Word Of The Lord?

2 Kings 23:3-4

“Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the LORD all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.”
NKJV

I’ve met many Christians who know the Bible inside and out. They can quote scripture after scripture, word for word with verse references and even comment on the meaning. I’ve met fewer who actually do The Word Of GOD. This astounds me. What if a 16 year old kid memorizes the driver’s exam study book and aces the exam, but then goes out and runs every red light he comes across? He’s going to get hurt and will probably hurt someone else in the process. The same is true with the Word of God. Think of some Christians on street corners with sandwich boards and megaphones hardening the hearts of everyone around them. They have the ‘head knowledge’ but they have not made the ‘heart application’.

To the other extreme are Christians who use church as a social club. They nod their heads and ‘Amen‘ the pastor, but their day to day life speaks nothing of following Jesus Christ. Solid biblical teaching assigns the hearer the responsibility to act on what they learn. So, where do you fall in this? Are you a Doer or just a Hearer of The Word Of God?

Life Lesson: We need to be acting on the Word of God.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me. Please forgive me for times when I have failed to live by Your Word. I thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to make doing what You tell me the priority in my life. Help me to love You and to love others. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

“I will make the people who oppose you afraid of me; I will bring confusion among the people against whom you fight, and I will make all your enemies turn and run from you. (Exodus 23:27)

Read:  Exodus 23:27-30

One of the benefits of God’s presence is fame. In the world, people go to ridiculous extent just to be famous; but do you know that if you can pay the price to be a carrier of God’s presence, you will attract honour, fame, popularity, promotion and joy? Joshua became famous through God’s presence.

So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country. Joshua 6:27

Joshua never thought he could step into the shoes of his master Moses. By the time God chose him, he battled with fear for some time. God had to keep encouraging him. What assisted him to succeed was the presence of God upon his life. As a result of this, not long after, he became known locally and internationally. If you want to be known or to be popular, simply key into God’s presence, be a carrier of His mighty presence and in al little while, you will become famous.

On the other hand, God’s presence can bring terror upon the enemies. When believers flee before their enemies, I begin to wonder what has gone wrong; it should be the other way round, for God has promised us that no enemy would be able to withstand us. Genesis 35:5 says:

Any they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

When God places His terror upon your enemies, they will be afraid of you. They will be incapable of hurting you, anyone or anything associated with you. This season, the terror of God shall come upon your enemies, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen! You shall be UNTOUCHABLE to them. From today, your enemies shall be afraid of you, Amen! Any of them that planned to harm you will receive a divine rebuke. Do not fear the enemy. Stop running from them. They will be the one running from you. Every blessing that your enemies have stolen shall be restored with speed this season in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

PRAYER POINT:

Dear Heavenly Father!

Send Your Fire upon every device of the enemies meant to cause accidents on our roads this season, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Max: What about your health?

Paul:  My body is beaten and tired.

Time and Opportunities

Time and Opportunities

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. (Psalms 32:6)

Read: Numbers 14:35-45

Time is an asset given by God to man. However, its illusionary static nature when considered over a short span deceives men. Time is slowly ticking away, quickly converting every second in the present into a thing of the past. How you relate with time will determine whether you will succeed or not. In Numbers 13 and 14, God asked the children of Israel to go and possess the Promised Land, a great opportunity. So they sent 12 spies to check it out and report back to them. Ten of them gave an evil report by stating all they saw physically and concluding that it would be impossible for them to take the land. On the other hand, Caleb and Joshua gave a good report by saying that the problems in the land were no match for the God of Israel. When they revolted against God and His servant Moses, God stepped in and plagued the 10 spies who brought the evil report and they died before the Lord. By the time the congregation realised their error they said they had sinned and were now prepared to go to the Promised Land as earlier instructed by God, but God said it was already too late. Their fate had been sealed! All who left Egypt from age 20 and above were to die in the wilderness without entering the Promised Land. Only the teenagers and children would make it. That is a classical case of missed opportunity in time.

No level of tears could turn the hands of the clock backwards. One lesson here is that the time you perform any assignment for God is very crucial to Him. If God asks you to do something, He also has the time that is right for you to do it. If you choose to do it at a time other than His time, it may not have the same desired impact or the missed opportunities might become irrecoverable or recovering such opportunities might come at a high cost. Whatever God instructs you to do, be in a hurry to do it except He instructs you otherwise. Is the Spirit urging you to pray?   Pray now! Please suspend all you are doing and obey, if not, by the time you think you have time to pray, it might be too late. Some people are sowing their seeds too late. Some prayers are done too late. Some acts of obedience are coming rather too late. Many people are surrendering too late. Don’t be a victim of opportunities lost in time! If you follow divine timing, you will never do anything too late.

Key Point:

The devil and the spirit of death, use the illusion of the constancy of time in deceiving those who defer their salvation to a later date thinking they have a lot of time.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Guidelines for Money Management: Tithe

I ask you, is it right for a person to cheat God? Of course not, yet you are cheating me. “How?” you ask. In the matter of tithes and offerings. A curse is on all of you because the whole nation is cheating me. Bring the full amount of your tithes to the Temple, so that there will be plenty of food there. Put me the test and you will see that I will open the windows of heaven and pour out on you in abundance all kinds of good things. I will not let insects destroy your crops, and your grapevines will be loaded with grapes. Then the people of all nations will call you happy, because your land will be a good place to live in.
Malachi 3:8-12
Let me give you some very practical rules, guidelines to correctly
managing God’s money. First, when money comes and you receive your
check, sit down and write out your tithe on the gross. When you write
out your tithe, you get the blessing. And the blessing, as we know,
will make you rich!
Secondly, give a tithe to your savings account. Why is that important?
Many people live check-to-check and they do not have money in the bank.
When something negative happens to them financially, it quickly
destroys them because they don’t have any money. Your goal should be to
have enough in your savings account to live in the same way that you
live now for six months without income. Three months coverage is good,
but six months is better because you will find another job in six
months

Get Ready! Jesus Is Coming Soon!

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins

Get Ready! Jesus Is Coming Soon

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 25:13.
This verse concludes the parable of the ten virgins, where five had oil
in their lamps and were ready to go out, and five were foolish and
missed the marriage.

In the seven churches Jesus addressed in
Revelation 2 and 3, there were people in every church who had received
eternal life, whose names were written in the book of life. Satan had
infiltrated six of those churches, and to those Jesus said: “To him
that overcometh those issues….” The overcomer was found ready.
This verse contains the point of the parable: watch therefore. In other
words, be ready, because you don’t know the time when the Son of Man
will come. Being ready means to be faithful. It means to be true.
To be ready, you can’t lose your first love. You can’t be a
compromiser. You can’t deny Jesus. You can’t allow false doctrine. You
can’t get caught up in all the pleasures of this world. You have to
overcome those problems, act on the Word, and keep a proper focus.
Prayer for Today
Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to be ready! I want to be true! I want to be totally sold out to
the purposes of Your kingdom. I will stay true through Your grace and
Your power! In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

God’s Kind Of Faith

English: Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey

God’s Kind Of Faith

Matthew 8:9-10, “For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”

MATTHEW 8:5-13, LUKE 7:1-10

There were only two things in all of scripture that caused Jesus to marvel. They were (1) the Centurion’s faith and (2) the Jews’ unbelief (Mk. 6:6). A faith that made Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith, marvel is worth examining. This centurion believed that the spoken word of Jesus was sufficient to produce his miracle. He didn’t need Jesus to come to his house. He had faith in Jesus’ word. Therefore, we can see that the person who simply believes the written Word of God is operating in a much higher form of faith than those who require additional proof. Compare this centurion’s faith with the “little” faith of Thomas in John 20:24-29!

Thomas refused to believe what He couldn’t see or feel. Our five senses were given to us by God and are necessary to help us function in this life. But if we do not renew our minds to acknowledge the limits of the five senses, they will keep us from believing. Faith can perceive things that the senses cannot (Heb. 11:1).

The type of faith that Thomas operated in was a human or natural faith that was based on what he could see. Jesus said there was a greater blessing to be obtained. That greater blessing comes from using a supernatural, God-kind of faith that is based only on God’s Word.

Jesus and God’s Word are one (Jn 1:1, 14). Believing God’s Word is not just putting your trust in some printed words on the pages of a book we call the Bible. There is much more involved. It is a relationship with a person, the person behind the words. Get to know Him through His Word.

Obedience to God is an expression of our love for Him

READ: 1 John 2:3-11

Whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. —1 John 2:5

The apostle John wrote his first epistle to encourage believers not to just look like real Christians, but to prove they are genuine by how they live. The evidence that a person’s faith is real is not found in some mystical experience with God. The proof that people truly know and love God is found in submitting to His authority and to His Word. John writes, “But whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:5-6).

If we claim that we have been transformed by the gospel and intimately know and love God, we should validate it by our obedience to His Word. —Marvin Williams

And then ignore what you have heard;
Instead obey God’s will for you—
Be doers of the Word. —Sper

Ignorance is not Bliss

For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:6
The Bible is a manual for living. Christians need to read the Bible to discover the wells of truth flowing from its pages. The Bible tells us God‘s view of life. It tells us His desires and His promises for His children.
All the knowledge you need can be found within the pages of this precious book. God in his infinite wisdom gave us a manual on how to correctly apply knowledge God’s way, and that is True Wisdom. Those who fail to utilize the Bible rob themselves of divine wisdom and are filled with only man’s limited knowledge.
Too often God’s people perish because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). God doesn’t want His children to be ignorant. Ephesians 4:18 says, “They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.”
My friend, ignorance is not bliss! It is a ploy of the enemy to rob, steal and destroy you and your life.
But God has given you wisdom, knowledge and life-it’s all explained in His book.

Bible Study For The 60th Annual Convention Of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God “Come Up Higher”

BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE

Introduction:

Everything about our God is upward. He is higher than the highest, Ecclesiastes 5:8 and more powerful than anyone, Psalms 91:1. His throne is above any other, Isaiah 66:1. Consequently, He is always wanting His children to come up higher. May you be moved higher after this study in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The Basics Of Christianity:

Certain things are basics to Christianity. These include Divine selection, Salvation, Sanctification and Baptism in the Holy Spirit. (Ezekiel 36:24, John 6:44; Ezekiel 36:25; 1 John 1:7; Ezekiel 36:26; Jeremiah 17:9; Ezekiel 36:27; Acts 1:8)

There Is A Lot More Than The Basics:

Not only can you have numerous gifts of the Holy Spirit, you can become a mighty vessel unto honour in God’s hands. (1 Corinthians 12: 8-10; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 3:1-8, Acts 5:1-11; Acts 5:14-16; Acts 19:11-12; Acts 9:36-42).

CONCLUSION:

You can still make it to heaven, if you in addition have the fruits of the Holy Spirit and live holy. (Matthew 7:21-23; Galatians 5:22-23, Hebrews 12:14)

For I Know The Thoughts That I Think Towards You, Says The LORD, Thoughts Of Peace, And Not Of Evil, To Give You An Expected End

Česky: Kříže - symbol utrpení Ježíše Krista a ...

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end

Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

God has a plan and a purpose for your life. There’s no evil in that plan. I’m so glad to know that when I am in a battle, when I am facing struggles and need, and when it seems as if I am in my darkest hour the last thing I have to consider is where God stands. He stands at my side. He stands on my behalf. He’s got my back. He’s got my front. Though a thousand would fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it will not come near me. The angels of the Lord are encamped round about me.

God is with you, too!

You never have to wonder who brought you trouble. You can rest assured that God will bring you out. You don’t have to reason or wonder if it is too hard for God. You can know that nothing is impossible to Him. When you are in a battle, never give thought to who brought the problem. Always think upon God, because He is your answer.
God is not the problem!

Put Your Trust In God

Psalm 56:4 says:

“In God I will praise His Word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”

David faced many troubles, just as you and I do. We face troubles every day from demonic sources, from the ignorance, hatred, and strife of men, from the tongues of men, from men who are learned and unlearned, believers, and unbelievers. It seems as if we can be totally overcome and overwhelmed if not for the fact that God is on our side. In this scripture we see that we need not fear what flesh can do to us. This refers to what can happen in the world, the things that can be birthed and set in motion against us. God is our refuge, and we are to trust Him and look forward to His deliverance in Jesus’ name.
Trust God!

Set Free!

You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Romans 6:18, NIV

With blood flowing from His wounds and streaming down His face from the thorns in His brow, Jesus stood before Pilate. As part of the Passover celebration, it was Pilate’s custom to release any prisoner the crowd chose. It just so happened that “at that time they had a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas. So . . . Pilate asked them, ‘Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus Who is called Christ?'” (Matt. 27:16-17, NIV)

The rulers shouted back, “No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” (John 18:40, NIV). Barabbas! Barabbas was a thief and a murderer and a rabble-rouser! The religious leaders of Israel were demanding that Barabbas be set free and Jesus be crucified. And so Barabbas became the first person to be set free by the death of Jesus.

Jesus died, not just in the place of Barabbas, but in your place and mine. Because He died, I am free! Free from my sin and its penalty.

Greater Love Has No Man Than This, That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends (John 15:13)

TRUE LOVE!

www.DiscoverGOD.com

The plan seemed so wonderful at the time. During the summer of 1969, more than 100,000 people would camp out in a pristine glade in upstate New York where everyone would get along and love each other. This meeting was part of the hippie movement. Their slogans expressed noble ideals: love, not hate; peace, not war. One of its cornerstones was “free love.” Hippies thought they could find love through sex.
The Woodstock Festival culminated a national “Love-In.” But instead of the expected 100,000 hippies, 1.5 million long-haired young people wearing beads and feathers flooded the area for three days.
Was Woodstock really a place of peace and love? Peter Townsend, a member of the band The Who which played during Woodstock, said, “What was going on off the stage was just beyond comprehension—stretchers and dead bodies, people throwing up, and people having [drug] trips…I thought the whole of America had gone mad.”
Tempers flared; people were assaulted. Nudity, sex, and drug dealing were everywhere. And they left behind acres of trash. What was supposed to be a monument to free love and brotherhood was actually a hedonistic mess. Selfishness and a disregard for others reigned.
Everyone wants to be loved. But what is love? Tragically, our world understands very little about true love. We must turn to our Creator to understand what love really is. His love is not just words on a page, but was demonstrated in the deepest kind of sacrifice—Christ’s death on the cross.

Your View of God Really Matters …

Compare the world’s concept of love — self-gratification — with God’s concept of love — selfless sacrifice for others. If we all loved each other as God loves us, what practical effect would that have in your community? In your church? In your family?

Obedience Keeps Us Covered

Obedience Keeps Us Covered

Many people believe in the Bible, but it is important to act on the Bible. In order to build our lives in righteousness, we must walk in strict obedience to the Word of God. By doing so, we will gain the covering of the protection of the Lord. God is continuously trying to bring protection, peace and joy into our lives, but when we walk outside of the laws of His kingdom, He is restricted by our own actions. God made us free moral agents with a will to choose of our own accord. Our lives become the sum total of the choices that we have made, yet many of us still blame God for the delays and disappointments in our lives. The foundation of our lives will only be as strong as our obedience. To build our house upon the rock that can never be torn down by the winds and storms of life, we must be obedient to the Word. We must study and place it in our hearts, so that we will never come out from the protective covering of the Lord.

Scripture Study

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” (Matthew 7:24, KJV)

Be like the Father

This week’s characteristic of the Father’s family is action – we must act on God’s Word in order to have the covering of God’s protection.

What Are You Planting?

Galatians 6:7-8. (NKJV)

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

The world teaches you that if you’re cunning and slick enough, you can fool, trick, and deceive almost anybody. But, no matter how many people you may fool, God is never fooled! Whatever kind of seeds you plant, you can be sure that in time you will bear the same kind of fruit. If you sow ungodly seeds, you will reap ungodly fruit. If you spend all your time indulging your flesh – that which is temporal – in the end you will have nothing but death and destruction. So we need to be cautious of what we are planting. So, begin right now to invest or plant good seeds in the Kingdom of God. Only what you do for Christ will last. Only what you do in God’s Love, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will be found worthy before His throne.

Forever Remain Blessed!

“Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.”
NKJV

In this verse, we see that it is God who works the miracles out among people, not Paul. This is an interesting section of scripture that some have twisted for their own monetary gain in the selling of such items as prayer cloths and other “miracle producing items”. The miracles were not from the handkerchiefs nor from Paul, but from God. These were merely the instruments God used. We should desire to be God’s instrument. God used unexpected means to restore health to those who were ill.

The Bible is a supernatural book. Jesus, our leader who died and didn’t stay dead, offers us eternal life. While this passage is not a model for ministry, it does demonstrate that God can work through various unconventional means to draw people to Him. God used Paul to heal people then, and God still uses people today. Did God use Paul to heal everyone that he came across? No. Some were healed and some were not. Remember, Paul prayed for God to heal him and apparently Paul was not healed. We should pray for God to heal others and even expect God to heal them while trusting in His will.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 “Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” NKJV

God said to Paul, “I am not going to heal you but give you the grace to get through it.” Sometimes God doesn’t heal us and take us out of our situation or condition, but He gives us the strength to go through it. When He heals, we give Him the glory. When He doesn’t, we are made stronger in our walk with Him.

Life Lesson: God can and does heal people.

Dear Heavenly Father:
Thank You for loving me. Thank You for giving me the strength to endure the difficulties of this world. Please help me to keep my focus on You and not on those difficulties. I pray this in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

If I Just Touch His Clothes, I Will Be Healed

A High Hope

She thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed”. Mark 5:28

The Gospel of Mark tells the story of a woman who suffered from a bleeding disorder for many years. She was among a crowd following Jesus and believed, “If I can reach him—just touch his clothes—I’ll be healed.”

A risky decision, don’t you think? To touch Jesus she’ll have to touch the people. If one of them recognizes her—hello rebuke, good-bye cure! But what choice does she have?

She has no money, no clout, no solutions. All she has is a crazy hunch that Jesus can help and a high hope that he will!

Maybe that’s all you have—a crazy hunch that Jesus can help and a high hope. You have nothing to give. But you’re hurting. And all you have to offer him is your hurt!

Faith is the belief that God is real and that God is good. There was no guarantee for the woman. She hoped he’d respond. She longed for it—but she didn’t know if he would.

All she knew was that he was there and that he was good.

That’s faith!

Counting The Cost Of Being A Disciple

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Counting the Costs Of Being A Disciple

If one of you is planning to build a tower, you sit down first and work out what it will cost, to see if you have enough money to finish the job, if you don’t you will not be able to finish the tower after laying the foundation; and all who see what happened will laugh at you. “This man began to build but can’t finish the job!” They will say…….in the same way, concluded Jesus, “none of you can be my disciple unless you give up everything you have”.

Luke 14:28-30; 33

Jesus is talking about counting the cost of being His disciple, but He
uses an illustration based on common sense. Any individual who is going
to take on an endeavour first of all sits down and writes out a budget.
Part of being a good steward over what God has given you is being an
individual who budgets, an individual who will take the time to be
faithful in little and in much.

The kingdom of God does not consist of people who only get saved, and
then lay back and never do another thing. We need to do everything
necessary to be faithful in God’s work. We must budget and know
what’s happening with everything that comes through our hands!

He Which Sows Sparingly Shall Reap Also Sparingly And He Which Sows Bountifully Shall Reap Also Bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6)

He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6).

MORE THAN JUST SOWING AND REAPING

LUKE 6:38, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

LUKE 6:17-49

This verse reveals one of God‘s cardinal laws that will work in the spiritual realm, as well as the physical world. Just as we “give” seed into the ground to receive back multiple seeds, so it is with everything we give. Whether it’s money, possessions, an emotion such as love or hate, prayers, or our time, we will reap a harvest of whatever we give. We reap exactly what we sow and proportional to the same measure that we give (Gal. 6:7-8).

“He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully” (2 Cor. 9:6). This law works on positive or negative things that we sow

Although this is an unchangeable law of God, it can be overcome by a greater law in much the same way that we can escape the law of gravity by using the greater laws of thrust and lift. The negative things we have given don’t have to come back to us if we apply the greater law of forgiveness (1 Jn. 1:9). Likewise, the good things we have sown can be voided if we don’t continue in well doing (Gal. 6:9).

God is our source, but God uses people. If we pray for finances, God is not going to make counterfeit currency and put it into your wallet. He will use people to get the money to you. So, it is not always as simple as praying for money and receiving it the next minute. We need to believe the Lord hears and answers our prayers, and then pray for the people He’s going to use to deliver the answer. This could mean any number of people such as our employer and the people who buy our goods. Ultimately God is your source, trust Him.

God’s Gracious Invitation

God‘s Gracious Invitation

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and
he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my
throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in
his throne

Revelation 3:20-21
I have heard verse 20 preached as an altar call for the sinner, but
when you see the context, you realize it has nothing to do with the
sinner, even though millions have been saved with this invitation. The
Lord is standing outside the lukewarm church Laodicea and saying, “You
have kicked me out. If you let me back in, we will have dinner together
and I will share with you my revelation.”
Jesus is seated at the throne, the right hand of God, which is the seat
of all authority and power in the universe. The overcomer is on a
throne next to Jesus. The overcomer, the true church, has a throne and
authority just like the Father. They rule. They reign.
Believer, do everything you need to do in order to be an overcomer. Be
true to God. Stay in His Word. Be guided by the Holy Spirit. Stay
faithful unto the end.
Prayer for Today
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are righteous, and You are holy. You have all authority and power,
and through Your Word and Your Spirit I confess that I am an overcomer.
In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Be Holy For I Am Holy

Holiness Is Not an Option

But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; or it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
Peter 1:15-16
Holiness is sanctification and separation unto God-which is what we are called to as believers.
Preachers of old like John Wesley knew that holiness was a command and not an option. They lived their lives in humble dedication to God. They served God, worked tirelessly, studied God’s Word diligently and prayed without ceasing. Psalms 65:4 says, “Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.”
Today many of the “successful” churches thrive on flowery sermons designed to appeal to intellectualism or materialism. They neglect talking about self-control, discipline or a life of holiness. The truth is that personal discipline and holiness before God go hand in hand.
In Leviticus 19:2 God says, “‘Be holy because I, the Lord your God, Am holy.” What does that mean? Your life should be one of diligent Bible study, daily communication with God through prayer, fasting and service. As you do this, you will be set apart to be used by God.
