God wants us to defeat our foes

God wants you to defeat  your foe“I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and   over all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19).

Satan was “the anointed cherub . . . You were on the holy mountain of   God; you walked in the midst of the stones of fire. You were blameless in   your ways from the day you were created” (Ezekiel 28:14-15). However, here is   the clue to Satan’s fall, “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;   you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendour” (vv. 17-19).

The Enemy knows his fate, but he is counting on the fact   that we do not. When he was cast out of heaven, he misled a third of heaven’s   angelic force. The chaos these fallen creatures create at times is still   under the watchful eye of God. Nothing that happens on the face of the earth   goes unnoticed by Him. God is never out of control or overpowered. Once Satan   was a beautiful creature—one that had access to God’s throne room. Today he   is a castaway and can only appear before the Lord when he is summoned.

Why does God allow evil to exist? Why does He allow the Enemy to touch   our lives with sickness and suffering? None of us have the perfect answer.   However, we know without a doubt that God is at work, and He has not   forgotten His creation. He uses every trial we face to draw us closer to   Himself. Also, do not become discouraged if you are facing difficulty.   Instead, cling to the One who has the ability to save you from all evil.   Satan’s trickery may have enticed many of God’s forces to believe that they   would be better off without Him. However, the same does not have to be true   for you.

Adam and Eve fell for the Enemy’s lies, but you can say no to each   one. Peter calls us to be on guard and ever alert to the Enemy’s assaults and   attacks (1 Peter 5:8). Ask the Lord to give you His discernment so that you   will know when you are about to step over the threshold of His safety and   blessing and enter the darkness of Satan’s domain.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and   defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Record your thoughts, learn to take notes during sermon

Worship is a way of life

One of the most exciting things you can do in your Christian walk with the Lord is to keep a journal of all that He is teaching you. Exodus 24:4 says,Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord.” In other words, he did not want to miss or forget anything. He took notes! If he were attending church with you, you could expect him to pull out a notebook and start jotting things down. Why? God directed Moses to do this because he was the one who would communicate what God said to the nation of Israel.

Today, godly men and women teach God’s truth, and we would be wise to pick up the habit of taking notes, as God taught Moses to do. Actually, the human mind has to hear or record a fact at least three times before it is committed to memory. Sometimes, it can take hearing a fact up to fourteen times before it is actually stored in our knowledge base.

This is why when you walk up to your pastor at the end of the worship service and commend him on his sermon, you pray that he does not ask you to repeat his main points back to him. It also is the reason you can gather over lunch with family and friends and exclaim how much you learned at church, but when you are asked to tell what you thought was the highlight, your mind goes blank.

Learn to take notes. Record your thoughts, and then, when you are alone with the Lord, ask Him to affirm what you have heard in and through His Word. Godly messages never conflict with what God has written in the Bible – it is the infallible Word of God. This means that it is God’s Word to us, and nothing about it can be changed or taken away.

We live in a devious world because Satan is constantly enticing us away from God’s truth. As you worship the Lord, ask Him to make you aware of the Enemy’s subtle and dangerous scheme. There is only one way to worship God, and that is with the entirety of our hearts and minds.

Worship is not a place or an event. It is a way of life.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

True worship begins with a heart that is totally turned towards God

True worshipbegins with a heart that is totally turned towards GodImagine what it would be like to step inside your church sanctuary on   Sunday morning and witness the vision that Isaiah saw. He writes, “I saw the   Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe   filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings . . . One   called out to another and said, ‘Holy,   Holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.’ And   the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called   out, while the temple was filling with smoke” (Isaiah 6:1-4).

This had to be a glorious sight! But it also was one that   conflicted Isaiah’s heart because he knew that he was guilty of sin.   Immediately, a godly sense of fear swept over him, and he cried out, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am   a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes   have seen the King, the Lord of hosts” (Isaiah 6:5). When we become aware   of God’s holy presence, we won’t be able to stop ourselves from worshiping   Him and seeking His cleansing for our sins.

However, if we become so entangled with sin and the pleasures of this   world, we will fail to sense the need to worship God. In fact, our spirits   will be dead to any true praise. Instead, we will yawn and check our watches   to see if the preacher is preaching longer than he should.
Isaiah realized there was a problem in his life—it was one that needed to be   addressed immediately, so he could do what God had called him to do. Many   times, we miss God’s best for our lives because we become too busy for   worship. When we take time to worship God for who He is—righteous, loving, and   infinite in power—our hearts will be lifted, and our lives will be changed.   We will cry out, “Holy are You Lord and   worthy to be praised!”

True worship begins with a heart that is totally turned toward God.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and   defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Worship God with your whole heart

Worship God with your whole heart

As consumers, we have little interest in leftovers. We don’t like to spend our money on flawed products. When we pay for an item or a service, we feel that it should be the best that company has to offer. This is true of God, but to an even greater extent.

Adam and Eve taught their sons Cain and Abel how to worship God in an acceptable manner. Yet when it came time to do this, the quality of Cain’s offering was not pleasing, and it was not given with the same passion as Abel’s. God does not have favourites. He did not choose one over the other because He liked one brother better than the next.

Abel simply understood the principle of worship and offered God the very best that he had. Cain, on the other hand, offered what he could gather quickly – an apple from here, a pear from there, and a clump of grapes. It is also interesting to note that Cain’s life is one that was filled with a desire and passion for what God had cursed in the garden at the fall of mankind – the land. Abel offered God the very best of His flocks – the fattest lambs – because he understood that worship came from a heart of love and devotion.

This concept is not just about giving money to the Lord on Sunday. He established guidelines for our giving in order for us to remember that He is the One who enables us to make a living. More importantly, it is about how we live our lives. Are we totally committed to the Saviour? Do we love Him and want to worship Him on a regular basis? Or do we just pray when we have a need of Him and go to His house when it is convenient? Those who worship out of convenience have hearts that contain a character flaw – a bent toward Cain’s nature.

This does not have to be true of your life. Ask God to show you any area where you are not fully devoted to Him. Remember, worship is something we do with our entire life.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

You are a good candidate for a miracle

God is working on your behalf, trust Him

2 Peter 3:9

Has there ever been a time when you felt so bound by your circumstances that you thought you would never be released? Without a doubt, Peter’s situation, from a human standpoint, seemed impossible. However, from God’s perspective nothing was further from the truth. It was an opportunity for Him to display His awesome power through Peter’s life.

While the church was praying for his release, Peter was resting. In fact, he was asleep! Most of us would have been awake, anxiously watching the door and wondering what was going to happen next. But not Peter. He was in the centre of God’s loving will. Life is not void of trouble and heartache. Sometimes His plan for us includes difficulty.

When trouble strikes and you feel as though your world is falling apart, do you have this same type of faith? Many of us don’t. We may start out thinking, “Now Lord, You know my needs. Please help me.” However, when time drags on and the door to freedom remains closed, we begin to wonder what has happened to God. Has He left the scene? The answer is no. He is right where He always is – beside you, with you, and living His life out through you.

Peter was not worried about tomorrow because his eyes were set on Christ. Being handcuffed to him was probably similar to being chained to the apostle Paul. We can imagine that at every opportunity, those who were guarding him had the opportunity to hear about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

“The Lord is not slow about fulfilling His promises” (2 Peter 3:9). What may seem like forever to you is not even a moment to God who is infinite and eternal. Peter’s amazing release came at just the right time – the middle of the night. When life appears the darkest, the light of God’s hope will find you. Your Saviour is working on your behalf, and He will answer your prayer.

If Satan has hemmed you in on all sides, if he has handcuffed you and you see no way out, then you are a good candidate for a miracle!

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

God is your everlasting peace

God is your everlasting peace

There was a lady who lived out in the country and never had electricity. Finally, her family made arrangements so a line could be run out to her house. However, after six months, she had only used one unit. Company officials decided to drive out to her house to make sure nothing was wrong. When everything checked out fine, they asked her if she was enjoying having electricity. “Oh my, yes,” she replied.

Then one of the representatives said, “Well, tell us how you are using it.” The old woman paused for a moment, and then, with a gleam in her eyes, she explained. Each evening, as the sun was setting, she turned the lights on long enough to light her kerosene lamps—and then turned them off! She was still living a kerosene existence when she could have been enjoying the comforts of having electricity.

God has given us tremendous power through the presence of His Spirit. Yet many times, we fail to use it. Instead, we settle for much less by relying solely on our human ability. There are certain things God never meant for us to handle on our own. We may be fine when it comes to choosing which shirt to wear in the morning, but when life becomes stormy and the winds begin to blow hard against us, we need an omnipotent Saviour.

In Acts 12, we learn that Peter was arrested and that no amount of human effort could free him. However, the supernatural power of God did. The Bible tells us that the church was praying fervently. This means they were praying without ceasing, knowing that God had the power they lacked to release the one they loved.

What are you wrestling with today? Have you rolled it over onto the Lord through prayer, or have you lit a room full of kerosene lamps? Stop struggling on your own and turn on God’s power through prayer and faith. Allow Him to be your strength and your everlasting peace.

God wants to use the problems we face to demonstrate His awesome power and ability. Are you willing to allow Him to do this?

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Worship begins in your heart

Worship begins in your heart.

Usually, there will come a time when God will test the depth of your   devotion to Him. In Genesis 22, He tested Abraham‘s faith beyond anything   imaginable. The Lord instructed Abraham to take his only son, Isaac, and   offer him as a sacrifice. For a moment, draw this parallel in your mind: God sent   His own Son to earth and willingly offered Him as a sacrifice for our sins.   Was God’s request of Abraham a foreshadowing of what would come? Perhaps.   However, the one thing we want to focus on here is that Abraham was willing   to obey God. He did not talk back, make excuses, or turn away from God. He   just obeyed – knowing in his heart that the Lord would provide the right   sacrifice.

When they had reached their destination, Abraham spoke with words of   faith as he told his servants, “I and the lad will . . . worship and   return to you” (v.5). When it came to the actual moment of sacrifice,   God stopped him. “Abraham! . . . Do not stretch out your hand against   the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you   have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me” (vv. 11-12). God did   not want Abraham to harm his son. He was just checking Abraham’s devotion.

How often have you faced a difficult situation and thought,   “Lord, You can have anything, but please, just don’t take ______.”   You can fill in the blank for yourself. In this situation, Abraham would have   written in the name of his son Isaac – the answer to the promise God had   given him years earlier. Sadly, while God longs for our fellowship, the one   that loses out in this case is the person who fails to enter His gates with   thanksgiving. He does not need us, but we definitely need Him.

Is there something that you are withholding from God? Could it be a   relationship, dream, idea, or pursuit? Worship begins in the heart.   Therefore, always be willing to obey the Lord by letting go of anything you   deem more valuable than your relationship with Him. When you do, His goodness   and mercy will be poured out in abundance for you.

God never sends a test our way just because He’s in a testing mood. He   has a specific purpose in mind. Usually, it is to draw us closer to Himself.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and   defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)

Little Chukwuemeka is a very good example of how kids think. He doesn’t ask his parents where his morning, afternoon or evening meal will come from. Neither does he fret over his clothing or shelter. He assumes all these things are his natural right and true to this they are.

It is ironic that most of us adults do not see God in this way. We end up doing all the worrying for God. Jesus said “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest upon your souls”.

The lesson here is simple and straight forward; the rest Our Lord Jesus Christ is talking about is not just our salvation, it covers every area of our lives, our finance, health and family. Let us learn to rest in the Lord. We can’t worry and “add a cubit to our height”. The carrier of the load is not complaining, why do you worry? Peter said; cast your burden upon the Lord. Why not pray and trust Him!

Stop carrying God’s load, He is not complaining!

The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and His ears are open unto their prayers

“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)

It is not how long we spend on our knees; nor how eloquently presented our prayer are before God’s throne of mercy; nor how long they may be; nor how sweet they may sound to the ears; nor how argumentative we are; nor how meticulous we are in presenting our prayers before God that moves God. No!

God looks at the heart! (1 Samuel 16:7)

Going to church, keeping vigils, and being actively involved in church activities are all good, but if you are not fervent, devoted, diligent, sincere and honest in your prayer life, you are missing out a lot.

God is not interested in numbers, eloquence, and length of time but a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite hear He will not despise (Psalm 51:17)

Pray and offer yourself to God in obedience.

Look upon God in prayers at all times, not just as the last resort, or because you have no other place or deity or human being to turn to.

Let prayer be the key of the morning and the bolt of the evening.

Get hold of God through honest fervent prayers!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

KNOWLEDGE IS
POWER

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..……” (Hosea 4:6a)

Knowledge
indeed is power, so the quest for knowledge is a worthy pursuit as it is many
times the one factor that distinguishes the potentials of one person from that
of another.

Influence
comes with knowledge, and so does the capacity to lead others. People who have
sought to exercise power over others have succeeded largely by denying the
subjects access to knowledge or information, or the ability to independently
acquire knowledge.

It is true
in the physical as it is in the spiritual, and since we straddle both realms,
we are invited to show ourselves approved of God through study, a workman that
does not need to be ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15), rightly dividing the Word of
Truth.

While study
makes us stand shoulder to shoulder in a competitive world, the
self-application required will not always be leisurely as could be seen in
Ecclesiastes 12:12 “My son, there is something else to watch out for. There is
no end to the writing of books, and too much study will wear you out” (GNB).

Ecclesiastes
12:9 says “But because the Philosopher was wise, he kept on teaching the people
what he knew. He studied proverbs and honestly tested their truth”, which is the
complete opposite of the methods of our leaders today.

NOTE BOOK: The fear of The Lord is the beginning of Wisdom; and the knowledge of The
Holy One is understanding! (Proverbs 9:10)

God Sent His Word, and Healed Them, and Delivered Them From Their Destructions

HE SENT HIS
WORD, AND HEALED THEM, AND DELIVERED THEM FROM THEIR DESTRUCTIONS

Psalm 107:20

Psalm 107
gives a graphic picture of those who are in trouble. It says “Fools because of their transgressions, and
because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of
food; and they draw near unto the gates of death” (
verse 17-18). Who are
these “fools?” it’s talking about those that reject knowledge of God’s Word.
They experience all kinds of trouble in their lives because of their ignorance
of the Word.

Then, the
Bible says they “cry unto the Lord in
their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses”
(verse 19). But
how exactly did the Lord save them? The Bible says, He sent HIS WORD, and healed them… “His answer
to their crying was to send His Word! This is the principle you need to
understand today. God’s answer to
whatever trouble anyone is facing is to send His Word!
It makes no
difference what the trouble is; whether it’s sickness, bankruptcy, marital
problems, or failure at school. Once you have God’s Word in that area, you have
the answer. God’s answer is to send His Word.

The Word of
God produces in your life whatever it talks about. If it’s a message of healing
and health, it will heal you if you receive it into your heart. If it’s a
message of prosperity and material wealth, it will produce the same in your
life. That’s why you cannot afford to miss church services or neglect your
times of Bible study, because the answer that you need is right there in the
Word. Every day, open your spirit and welcome the Word into your heart. As you
do this, it will produce that which you need in your life.

CONFESSION

I welcome the Word of God into my
heart today. It produces in my life everything that it talks about and
navigates my life in God’s Will for me. I love God’s Word and I yearn to
receive more and more of it every day, because it is God’s answer to all life’s
questions! In Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not lack

Inspirational Bible Verses

THE LORD IS
MY SHEPHERD I SHALL NOT WANT

God Is The
Source Of Our Supply! Amen!

Psalm 23:1

A dear lady
once shared an amazing testimony with me – she had no job or means of income,
thus for several years, she couldn’t pay her mortgage bills. A number of times,
the bank had called her and because she couldn’t pay, she was taken to court.
However, one day during the period, she saw a pastor on TV and started
listening to the message of the gospel. On her first appearance in court, the
manager who came representing the bank told her “lady, don’t cry. It’s going to
be okay!” there and then, all her debts were cancelled! What a Mighty God we
serve!

If you’re
born again, it’s important you understand that God is your Source of Supply.
The government will never make you rich for no government was designed to make
anyone rich. When you recognize the Lord as your Source and Provider you’ll
discover that your financial prosperity has nothing to do with government
policies or the state of the economy in the country where you live. That’s when
you realize that it’s possible to be admitted into school while someone else is
paying your tuition! That’s when you become conscious of the fact that you can
own a car without paying for it, you can live in a house that you didn’t build
or pay for, just as the Bible says: “And
the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister
unto thee….”
(Isaiah 60:10)

When you
recognize the Lord as your Source, you’ll never lack food, shelter or clothing,
rather you’ll have all your needs met, for they that seek the Lord shall not
want any good thing (Psalm 34:10). Even without seeing the physical amount of
money, you’ll never run dry, because God is your Source!

Learn to
believe and trust the Lord to take care of you; He is more than able to give
you much more than you could ever need! He wants you to always have more than
enough, so that besides having all you need for yourself, you can be of help
and a great blessing to others as well.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father! Thank You for
the teaching of Your Word that I’ve received today! I declare that You’re My
Source and My Great Provider; therefore all my needs are met according to Your
riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I rejoice for Your wonderful blessings I enjoy
every day, and thank You for making me a blessing to others, in Jesus Christ
Name! Amen!

Worship Is Sacrifical

WORSHIP IS
SACRIFICAL

READ: Genesis 22:1-14

“Take with you words,
and turn to the Lord: say unto Him, ‘Take away all our iniquity, and receive us
graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.”  (Hosea 14:2)

Worship is
not just singing worship songs or bowing down before God because of our
expectation of what to get from Him.

Worship is
multifaceted; it is more than singing songs of praise and dancing or giving to
God. Singing or other means of worship are just the acts of worship, but our
heart connection with God is the most important and honouring to God i.e.
having a heart that sings worships not just a mouth that sings worship songs.

Looking at
Abraham, our father of faith, in that time and age there was no church where
praise and worship could be conducted yet he knew that worship in the sight of
God meant life.

The secret
of worship, as required by God is obedience and faith. In our case we may
consider an Isaac to be our quality time, that which cost you something, our
possessions or even our careers or ministries.

Abraham did
not kill his only begotten son eventually, for God provided a ram of worship.
God blessed Abraham for bringing a life offering to Him. He ultimately yielded
his life to God. God cut a covenant with him there and blessed him.

Make me a worshipper, and one after
Your Own heart, O Lord!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from
all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Jesus can set you free

Know God, Be Strong

CHRIST JESUS
CAN SET YOU FREE

“Turn [me] back to You, O LORD, and
[I[ will be restored……” Lamentation 5:21 NKJV

Any habit
you cannot break, or that you refuse to break, is a habit that has the power to
break you. Are you dealing with appetites that are out of control? Do you
struggle with compulsion that bring moments of pleasure followed by days of
remorse? Do you go through periods of abstinence, only to be followed by
seasons of indulgence that leave you defeated and condemned? Christ can set you
free! The Bible says, “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and
power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the
devil…..” (Acts 10:38 NKJV).

It’s not
what you go through in life that messes you up; it’s what you keep going back
to! Are you tired of saying, “I’m not going to look at it; I’m not going to
listen to it; I’m not going to do it,” only to go out and repeat your old
patterns over and over? Here’s a prayer for you to pray, a prayer God will
answer: “Turn me back to You, O LORD, and I will be restored, in Jesus Christ
Name I pray! Amen!”

Ask God to
turn your heart back to him, because the truth is, you can’t do it for
yourself! You say, “But my friends and family have given up on me.” God won’t!
The Psalmist wrote “Many are they who say of me, ………There is no help for him in
God……But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One Who lifts up my
head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me” (Psalm 3:2-4 NKJV).
Jesus Christ can set you free, so turn to Him today!

Therefore if the Son makes you free,
you shall be free indeed!
(John 8:36). Hallelujah! Amen!

May Our God The Almighty prosper
Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name,
Amen!

Honesty

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Image via Wikipedia

HONESTY

Truthful lips endure
forever, but a lying tongue last only a moment. The Lord detests lying lips,
but He delights in men who are truthful (Proverbs 12:19, 22 NIV)

For more than 30 years, I have stressed that the bottom-line
to real Christianity is having a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus
Christ. I have consistently worked at this. I spent three hours daily with
Jesus Christ in morning devotions; attended prayer meetings and church; taught
the congregation in the church about Jesus Christ; walked two miles, five days
a week; and even become a vegan all in an attempt to connect with Jesus Christ.
But something was missing.

And then it happened. I found the missing link: HONESTY! A personal, intimate
relationship with Christ Jesus isn’t possible unless you are completely honest
with yourself and God. For the first time, I cried out “Honestly” to the Lord,
begging Him to cleanse me of every sin in my life. I thought I was a pretty
good person until the “little skeletons” started falling out of my closet and
then the big ones. My soul was crushed, yet I begged God more and more to show
me what I needed to do to “come clean” in my relationship with Him.

What has this experience done for me? As I have recognized
how my Heavenly Father has blessed me “over and beyond measure” despite my
sinfulness, not holding me in captivity but showering me with so many
undeserved gifts. The question comes to my mind: what will He do now that my
heart is totally surrendered to Him and ready to receive His grace? The thought
just blew my mind!

2ndly, I now try to see people through the eyes
of Jesus Christ. I see what they are becoming, not as they are now! Gone is the
legalism. The whole world looks different!

My plea is, don’t just lay in church and miss eternal life,
as I almost did. Be honest with yourself and God.   As
Martin Luther King Jr. said, “I’m free at last; thank God Almighty, I’m free at
last. And it feels so good.”

Have you been honest with God or are you harbouring some
secret sins in your life? Ask God what it will take to “come clean” with Him,
and see what skeletons fall out of your closet. – By Olujoba

The Virtuous Woman

Image via Wikipedia

THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN

What a girl to do?

Some people have the mistaken idea that a woman should be
very concerned about her looks, up on the latest fashions, and look out for
herself.

But that’s not what God describes in the Bible. The woman
described in proverbs 31 is an excellent wife and mother. She is able to
balance both career and family. It may surprise you that her appearance is
never ever mentioned! This is because the best kind of attractiveness is an
inward beauty. It comes from a woman’s character.

See this woman as an inspiration to be all you can be!

Who can find a
virtuous and capable wife? She is worth more than precious rubies. Her husband
can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She will not hinder him
but help him all her life.

She finds wool and
flax and busily spins it. She is like a merchant’s ship; she brings her food
from afar. She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and
plan the day’s work for her servant girls. She goes out to inspect a field and
buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She is energetic and
strong, a hard worker. She watches for bargains; her light burn late into the
night. Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fibre.

She extends a helping
hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.

She has no fear for
winter for her household because all of them have warm clothes. She quilts her
own bedspreads. She dresses like royalty in gowns of finest cloth.

Her husband is well
known, for he sits in the council meeting with the other civic leaders.

She makes belted linen
garments and sashes to sell to the merchants.

She is clothed with
strength and dignity, and she laughs with no fear of the future. When she
speaks, her words are wise and kindness is the rules when she gives
instructions. She carefully watches all that goes on in her household and does
not have to bear the consequences of laziness.

Her children stand and
bless her. Her husband praises her. “There are many virtuous and capable women
in the world, but you surpass them all.

Charm is deceptive,
and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly
praised.  Reward her for all she done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
