Psalms_25-2: O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Hebrews 3:15

Read: Hebrews 3:13-15
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Ezekiel_36-26: A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Beloved, if God indicates to you His desire to use you in building His kingdom in one capacity or another, do not hesitate, because He may just use someone else if you do. One of my pastors and I once went through an experience relevant to this subject. During the early days of building the Redemption Camp, when things were very rough and tough, I practically lived at the camp, as I tried to ensure that the little we had was efficiently utilised. On a particular day, we were in need of a certain amount. This pastor came to me and we exchanged pleasantries, after which he told me what he came for. I knew that he had the money we required, so after we were done with his purpose for coming, I told him I urgently needed an amount to solve a problem. He said “Okay sir, I will pray about it“, and he left. This happened on a Saturday. By Monday, he came back to say he was now ready to give me the money, but I told him the need had been met. “Daddy, I am not leaving your office until you take the money“, he protested.
I then replied him, saying “You said you wanted to go and pray about it. Continue with your prayer. What God wanted done has been done.” That day, he resolved that although he had missed out on that opportunity, he would not suffer the same fate again. He decided to stay back at the camp and handed his business over to his wife. He has been of tremendous assistance since then.

When you hear a call to partake in a kingdom project, do not delay unnecessarily, or else, by the time you are ready, the work would have been done without you. When some people make pledges towards the Holy Ghost Congress meetings we hold in December, a lot of them fail to redeem theirs. In spite of this, the Congress still holds, and by the grace of God, we are never in deficit at the end of any Congress. In addition, it is important to know that the Almighty God can transfer wealth from one person to another. In 2 Kings 7:1-11, Samaria was besieged by the Syrian army, to the extent that some women began to eat their children. God declared that the situation would change within 24 hours, and it was so. How? He simply transferred wealth from the Syrians to the children of Israel. If you fail to use your God-given resources for His kingdom, you may be calling for God to transfer them to those who will use them to glorify Him.

God Prefers Obedience To Sacrifice. PROMPT OBEDIENCE. By Pastor E A Adeboye

Read:

1 Samuel 15:22-23

22  And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

23  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

In the service of God, sacrifice is good. God expects all His children to present their bodies as a living sacrifice to Him. He also expects our sacrifice to be holy and acceptable (Romans 12:1). However, He makes it clear that He prefers obedience to sacrifice. Jeremiah 7:23 says,

“But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.”

Obedience is the act of doing what one is told to do. In the spiritual sense, obedience is total submission to the written and spoken word of God. It is an express but conditional commandment of God. In Exodus 19:5, God instructed the Israelites to obey His voice:

“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:”

One distinguishing characteristic of those who are great in the things of God is prompt obedience. The Bible contains so many stories of men and women who became great for God as a result of their obedience to His word. A classical example of a person whose lifestyle was defined by prompt obedience was Abraham. Other heroes of obedience include Joseph, Joshua, Ruth, David, Elijah, Elisha and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Obedience entails learning (Hebrews 5:8). It involves God taking you to His own school of theology. Here you are stripped of all knowledge and pomposity in order to obey God in simple holiness and truth. Obedience requires sincerity, genuineness and love. True obedience comes from a heart of love. It is real and not mere eye service. Obedience requires boldness. It takes boldness for a child of God to obey Him in this world of perversion and outright corruption. It takes moral courage to live holy and move against the tide of sin. Don’t be a moral coward. Be bold enough to say “No” to all acts of unrighteousness. Speak out against sin anywhere you find yourself.

A true Christian is one who is neither ashamed of the gospel nor a shame to the gospel. You can overcome the fear of man through reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit. Obedience requires humility. It takes the grace of God to obey God all the way to the end. Are you facing persecution because of your obedience to Christ? Don’t give up! Don’t compromise your stand. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted from the path of obedience. Obedience must not be done haphazardly. Disobedience is rebellion, which is likened to witchcraft (1Samuel 15:23).

Action Point:

Obey God, obey those who share the truth with you, obey your leader and obey your body when it needs rest.

Do not be afraid; only believe. Just Trust!

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Mark 5:36

Like a little child, we often complain how scary it is to walk where we can’t see. We’ve reason to be cautious. We have absolutely no vision beyond the present.

Jairus was the senior religious leader in the synagogue, the best-known citizen in town! But when he approaches Jesus, he’s a blind man begging for a gift.

“My daughter’s dying. Please come! Put your hands on her so she’ll be healed and live!”

Before Jairus gets very far, he’s interrupted by those who tell him “Your daughter is dead. There’s no need to bother the teacher anymore.” But Mark 5:36 says,
“But Jesus paid no attention to what they said.” I love that line! Jesus instead compels Jairus to see the unseen!

“Trust me,” Jesus is pleading. “Don’t be afraid—just trust!”

You Know God’s Voice

John 10:3 says: “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.”

When we are born again, we have a supernatural knowledge of the voice of God. We know the voice of the Father. We are not carried about by the voice of a stranger, and we don’t listen to our senses. We don’t listen to other people, unless they are representative of the voice of God and the Word of God. And we don’t listen to deceptive voices. We are not moved by circumstances, but we are moved and led by God’s Word. You know God’s voice. Wait upon the Lord. Let Him speak. When He speaks, you say, and you do. There’s where the rubber meets the road and faith is born, when you hear God and you put action to what you hear.

Hear Him!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Marriage Day

God‘s commandments are not intended to make us miserable–they’re meant for our own happiness

COMMANDMENTS LEAD TO HAPPINESS

Matthew 5:32, “But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, save for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

MATTHEW 5:31-32

God’s commandments are not intended to make us miserable–they’re meant for our own happiness. Satan‘s lie in the Garden of Eden caused Eve to question God’s motives behind His command (Genesis 3:5).

Malachi 2:15 says God hates divorce. God doesn’t hate the people who divorce. He hates the act of divorce because of the damage it does to people. God loves people.

Today, people see divorce as an easy way out of marital problems. But this is based on the misconception that the mate is the problem–which is rarely the case.

People who blame their mate for their problems give in easily to divorce, thinking that a new partner will solve the situation. Yet second marriages have over twice the failure rate of first marriages. That’s because we take ourselves and all our unresolved problems into the next marriage.

You can’t control other people–not even your mate. But through obeying the Lord, you can control yourself and have fullness of joy. God’s commands tell us what will produce true happiness for us.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Doing The Word Of God

And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses

Exodus 12:35

The key to getting the power is in this verse: doing according to the

Word. The Israelites had received the Word of the Lord, but the Word

they received from the Lord came through a man. Lightning has to strike

some people before they will do what they have to do. They will sit

down with the pastor and he will tell them, from the Word, what they

need to do, yet they won’t do it because they didn’t get spiritual

goosebumps. Then they ask, “Where’s the power, God?” Well, they didn’t

do what God said.

The Israelites had not talked to God personally. They just trusted that

God knew what He was doing when He put Moses over them. So when Moses

said that this was what God wanted them to do, they did it. They were

obedient. Obedience allows you to be God’s  magnet. The magnetic

field makes the object a magnet. Your magnetic field is the anointing

of the Almighty God. It is the blessing, grace, and God’s ability that

causes blessings to come your way.

How long will you slumber, O sluggard? It is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it

READ: Proverbs 6:6-11

How long will you slumber, O sluggard? —Proverbs 6:9

While studying the book of Proverbs in my small-group Bible study, our leader suggested that we change the description of a lazy person from a sluggard to a slacker (6:6,9). Ah, now he was speaking my lingo. I immediately started thinking of all the people I consider to be slackers.

Like the men and women who fail to teach and discipline their children. Or that guy who refuses to help around the house. Or those teenagers who neglect their studies and play Internet games day and night.

If we’re honest, we’re all susceptible to this. What about being a “prayer slacker” (1 Thess. 5:17-18), or a “Bible-reading slacker” (Ps. 119:103; 2 Tim. 3:16-17), or a “non-exercising-of-our-spiritual-gift slacker” (Rom. 12:4-8), or a “non-witnessing slacker”? (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

If we are not doing what we know God wants us to do, we are certainly spiritual slackers. In fact, when we refuse to obey God, we are sinning.

Listen to these challenging and convicting words from the book of James: “It is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it” (4:17 NLT). Let’s not be spiritual slackers. —Cindy Hess Kasper

When we know what God wants us to do,

But then we refuse to obey,

We’re ignoring the voice of the Lord,

And sinfully choosing our way. —Sper

We may make excuses for not obeying God, but He still calls it disobedience

Obeying God’s Instructions

Obeying God‘s Instructions

by Pastor Andre Butler

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said

unto Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand,

there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my

word.” And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, “Get thee

hence and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith,

that is before Jordan.” And it shall be [when you’ve done what I’ve

told you to do], that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have

commanded the ravens to feed thee there-

1 Kings 17:1-4

God’s ability to get wealth to you is dependent upon your obedience to

Him, even on the receiving end. God prepared a miracle for Elijah, but

God gave him very specific instructions: get out of here, go east, and

hide by the brook Cherith. Only God could have gotten provisions to

Elijah in the middle of a famine. Cherith may have been the only brook

with water left. Only God could have known that.

Sometimes people think that wealth and blessings will only get to them

when God uses other people to put money in their hands. No, God may put

an idea, concept, or insight in your heart as a vehicle to get the

money to you. If you know the idea is from Him, ask him what the next

step is, and take that step. Obedience is the master key to receiving

God’s will.
