Luke_18-27: And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God
Text.
Zechariah 4:7
“Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. ”
Introduction.
Once in a while, we are confronted with mountains that challenge our progress. What do we do in such a situation? This is our focus today.
Response To Progress Challenging Mountains.
To Turn Back And Refuse To Continue Moving Forward.
Numbers 14:1-4
“That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud.
2 All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!
3 Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”
4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”.
This is a very wrong way to handle a mountain. Never quit an assignment, good deed or project because of a mountain:
Hebrews 10:38
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”.
To Walk Round The Base Of Such Mountains.
This Means:
(i) When You Have A Problem And You Do Nothing About It
(ii) Or You Say Disheartened Prayers About It
(Iii) Or You Try To Solve It Applying The Wrong Measures. Such Response Is A Wasted Effort.
To Climb Such Mountains.
Numbers 13:30
“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”.
To be able to stand on your challenges, you must first realise your spiritual position and placement in Christ and strive to enforce powers vested in you:
Luke 10:19
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
You May Choose To Make A Way Through Your Mountains.
Isaiah 43:19
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Exodus 14:21-28
“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,
22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
23 The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea.
24 During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.
25 He jammed[a] the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.”
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”
27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward[b] it, and the Lord swept them into the sea.
28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.”
To bore a hole through your mountain, you will definitely require the help of the Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 4:6
“So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”.
To Blast It Out Of The Way.
Joshua 6:20
“So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.”.
To experience this, you must be prepared to receive instructions from God, on how a particular mountain should be levelled and adhere strictly to it. You must also be prepared to send high praises to God so that He can send a dynamite to pull down your mountain.
CONCLUSION.
It is the right step that gives you result, not just any step. Ask for grace to always take the right step in handling mountains.
