10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
LESSON INTRODUCTION:
There is no mountain, human obstacles, family evil pronouncement, Almighty God cannot pull down or address but the factor to get it done is recorded in Matthew. 11:12 i.e being violent. Jacob wrestled with God until his destiny which was plagued with curses was divinely visited and corrected. To become honourable, be ready to enforce your liberty.
The solution to one’s situation begins with positive reaction to change it.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: WHO IS JABEZ?
Jabez was from the tribe of Judah (praise) but was living in sorrow. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.
At the beginning of his life, his mother commissioned him to life of sorrow. 1 Chronicles 4:9
He rejected evil spoken to his destiny by his mother.
Hard time, life of struggles, reproach continued in his life until he (Jabez) reacted.
Jabez initiated the process of solution for himself by calling on Almighty God for intervention. Jeremiah 33:3.
He told God what he wanted:
1) God to bless him.
2) God to enlarge his coast i.e prosper his work.
3) God to keep him from all evil and disasters.
4) God to delete from his life things that is causing him to grieved.
He refused to accept defeat. Numbers 14:28
He quit the sorry state and delivered his generation from unknown embargo.
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: YOUR INPUTS TO GREATNESS IS REQUIRED.
What are the inputs?
Have perfect relationship with Almighty God.
Be determined to succeed, never receive “no” for an answer.
Go to the source of your problems and address it. 2 Kings 2:19-22.
Be prayerful. Mark 9:29
Obedience will sustain your greatness. 1 Samuel 15:18-22.
Maintain your stand with God, keep on lane, and remain focused till the victory is won.
Self-control and discipline is required. Genesis 49:5
SUMMARY: Christians should always be ready to reclaim everything belonging to them.
CONCLUSION: Everyone created by God has mandate of walking in dominion, though there are adversaries to contend with, from immediate family to extended family members, neighbourhood, working place, e.t.c. This is the reason Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 16:9, that great and effectual doors are opened but there are adversaries to contend with. Fight for your destiny!

INTRODUCTION: Life is a battle. As children of Light, we often find ourselves in battle against forces of darkness, however, there are assurances in the scripture that as long as we remain in the light, we are winners all the time. May these prayers, grounded in God’s Word, strengthen our faith and equip us to stand upright in victory over all enemies in Jesus’ name.

INTRODUCTION:
Man, though created in God’s image fell and lost smooth fellowship with God. God sent His only son, Jesus Christ to pay the price for the sin of man through His mercy, therefore as many that will confess and forsake their sins, the Lord is ready to forgive by His mercy. It is time to cry to God for mercy and forgiveness.

PRAYER GUIDE FOR 2024 CONGRESS
Exodus 40:34-38
Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the Tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
Preamble
We have been having Holy Ghost Congresses, but the theme for this year’s edition is unique. “Onward Christian Soldier” as given to our Father in the Lord. Pastor E.A. Adeboye. There is no doubt that God is about to do unique things in our lives, in our families, in His church and our nation. From the above passage, the uniqueness of the Lord’s doing in the lives of His army has to do with His glory and His abiding presence, as we can see by the symbol of fire and the cloud in the onward journey of Israelites on their way to destiny. Therefore let us be expectant of great manifestation of glory in this year’s Holy Ghost Congress as we use this prayer guide through the period of fasting.

DAY 5: STANDING UPRIGHT IN VICTORY
BIBLE TEXT: Psalms 20:8, 16:6
INTRODUCTION: Life is a battle. As children of Light, we often find ourselves in battle against forces of darkness, however, there are assurances in the scripture that as long as we remain in the light, we are winners all the time. May these prayers, grounded in God’s Word, strengthen our faith and equip us to stand upright in victory over all enemies in Jesus’ name.

1. Father, we thank You for assured victory, by delivering us from the hands of all our enemies in Jesus’ name Psa 34:17

DAY 6: PRAYER MINISTRY

INTRODUCTION:
Prayer is communication between man and divinity. When prayer is effective it avails much. God wants to do many things on the earth today, but it can only be accomplished through the active prayer ministry of the churches. Through prayers we bring to pass the will of God on earth.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, thank you for instituting the ministry of prayers and teaching us how to pray in Jesus name. Ps. 100:4.
1. Father, thank you for who you are, the Almighty, the one who speak of a thing and they come into existence in Jesus name. Ps. 95:2-3.
2. Father, thank you for answering our prayers whenever we call upon you in Jesus name. Jer. 33:3.
3. Father, thank you because there is none like unto Thee, glorious in Holiness fearful in praises in Jesus name. Ex 15:11
4. The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercy we thank you for saving us, in Jesus name. 1 Sam. 2:1-10, 1 Peter 1:1-3.
5. Father thank you for saving us and giving us your wisdom to know the truth. Thank you for the revelation of knowing you in Jesus name.

4. Father; thank you for your usual protection over your children in the past Congresses. Deuteronomy 31:6
5. Father, as your people travel for the Holy Ghost Congress, let your presence go with them in Jesus’ name. Exodus 33:14-15

DAY 8: SOWING SEED OF DESTINY

INTRODUCTION:
It is an ordinance of God, that as long as this earth remains, the time to sow and reap will remain operational. Destiny is what God has predetermined a man to be and to become, in His Divine will. However, what you do and what you fail to do, are seeds sowed that largely determine your experience or harvest in the future.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, I thank you for opening our eyes to understand the principle of sowing and reaping in this kingdom in Jesus name.
2. Father, for every principle I have transgressed, let mercy reign over judgment in my life, in Jesus name. Mat7:8

Introduction: The presence of the Lord is our sure guarantee for progress as Christian Soldiers of the Cross. Whenever the glory of God is absent from our tabernacle joy will be elusive as sorrows will be inevitable. As the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys because God was with them, let us abide always in His presence

Youth is the time of life when one is young. A time between childhood and adulthood and the glory of a young man is their strength. It’s a time that young fellows need to travail in prayers to be able to achieve their destiny and live a fulfilling life

INTRODUCTION: The real battle of life is not physical, hence not visible. For example, emotional and spiritual battles. The scripture says, For we walk in the flesh we do not war after the flesh. Hence, the weapon of our warfare are not physical, they includes, forming alliance with Jesus, studying the word frequently, fervent prayer particularly in the Holy Ghost. etc.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, we thank you for opening our eyes to understand that our warfare is not with flesh and blood but with invisible forces. 2Co10:3
2. Father, we thank you because the greatest battle was won on the cross at Calvary through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev12:11
3. Father, we thank you for redeeming us from the kingdom of darkness into your marvelous light. 1Pe2:9
