Hymn 618. The sower went forth sowing

The sower went forth sowing;

The seed in secret slept

Through days of faith and patience,

Till out the green blade crept;

And warmed by golden sunshine,

And fed by sliver rain,

At last the fields were whitened

To harvest once again

O praise the heav’nly Sower

Who gave the fruitful seed,

And watch’s and water’d duly,

And ripen’d for our need.

2:

Behold! The heavenly Sower

Goes forth with better seed,

The word of sure Salvation,

With feet and hands that bleed;

Here in His church ’tis scattered,

Our spirits are the soil;

Then let an ample fruitage

Repay His pain and toil.

O beautiful the harvest

Wherein all goodness thrives,

And this the true thanksgiving,

The first-firsts of our lives.

3:

Within a hallowed acre

He sows yet other grain,

When peaceful earth receiveth

The dead He died to gain;

For, though the growth be hidden,

We know that they shall rise;

Yea, even now that they ripen

In sunny paradise.

O summer land of harvest,

O fields forever white

With souls that wear Christ’s raiment

With crowns of golden light!

4:

One day the heavenly Sower

Shall reap where He hath sown,

And come again rejoicing,

And with Him bring His own;

And then the fan of judgment

Shall winnow from His floor

The chaff into the furnace

That flameth evermore

O holy, awful Reaper,

Have mercy in the day

Thou puttest in Thy sickle,

And cast us not away.

Thank You Jesus,

Salvation Prayers

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your Will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Hymn 644:  I Have Been To the Fountain of Cleansing

I have been to the fountain of cleansing

And plung’d neath the life giving flow

‘Tis the blood shed of Calvary’s mountain

That makes the soul whiter than snow

CHORUS

O yes it makes whiter than snow

The blood cleanses me, this I know

Since it c1eans’d me from sin

I have Jesus within,

His blood cleanses whiter than snow

2:

I have been to the fountain of cleansing

Found peace in the crucified One

All my sins by His grace have been cancelled

And heav’n in my soul is begun

3:

I have been to the fountain of cleansing

And glory is flooding my soul

Hallelujah! My heart is rejoicing

His blood makes me ev’ry white whole

Thank You Jesus,

Psalms_51-2: Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Hymn 645: I’ve a Saviour, kind and tender,

I’ve a Saviour, kind and tender,

I’ve a Saviour full of grace,

And a smile of winning sweetness

Ever beams upon His face:

In my heart’s shrine of affection

He shall hold the highest place.

CHORUS

How I love Him! How I love Him

Since for me He bled and died

How I love Him, yes I love Him

More than all the world beside.

2:

For my sake He came from heaven

To this world of sin and shame;

Bore my guilt, though He was guiltless,

And though blameless, took my blame:

Can I ever cease to love Him,

And His goodness to proclaim?

3:

Though I’ve often been unworthy,

He has constant been, and true;

Though I wronged Him, He forgave me

When I would my vows renew;

Though I spumed Him, He with kindness

My rebellious heart did woo.

4:

I’ve a Saviour, kind and tender,

He would be your Saviour too;

Will you not accept the pardon

Which He freely offers you?

Take Him now as your Redeemer;

Earth has not a friend so true.

Thank You Jesus,

Hymn 646: O what a wonderful, wonderful day

O what a wonderful, wonderful day

Day I will never forget;

After I’d wandered in darkness away,

Jesus my Saviour I met.

O what a tender, compassionate friend –

He met the need of my heart;

Shadows dispelling, With joy I am telling,

He made all the darkness depart !

CHORUS

Heaven came down and glory fill my soul,

When at the cross the Saviour made me whole;

My Sins were washed away

And my night was tuned to day

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul!

2:

Born of the Spirit with life from above

Into God’s family divine,

Justified fully thru Calvary’s love,

O what a standing is mine!

And the transaction so quickly was made

When as a sinner I came,

Took of the offer Of grace He did proffer –

He saved me, O praise His dear name!

3:

Now I’ve a hope that will surely endure

After the passing of time;

I have a future in heaven for sure,

There in those mansions sublime.

And it’s because of that wonderful day

When at the cross I believed;

Riches eternal And blessings supernal

From His precious hand I received.

Hymn 648: I’ve believed the true report

1:

I’ve believed the true report,

Hallelujah to the Lamb!

I have passed the outer court,

O glory be to God!

I am all on Jesus’ side,

On the altar sanctified,

To the world and sin I’ve died,

Hallelujah to the Lamb !

CHORUS

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

I have passed the riven vail,

Where the glories never fail,

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

I am living in the presence of the King.

2:

I’m a King and priest to God,

Hallelujah to the Lamb!

By the cleansing of the blood,

O glory be to God!

By the Spirit’s power and light,

I am living day and night,

In the holiest place so bright,

Hallelujah to the Lamb!

3:

I’m within the holiest place,

Hallelujah to the Lamb!

I have passed the inner vail,

O glory be to God!

I am sanctified to God

By the power of the blood,

Now the Lord is my abode,

Hallelujah to the Lamb!

Hymn 650: ‘Once I Fought to Conquer Sin’ – A song of victory through Jesus Christ, who triumphs over sin and brings peace and contentment

Hymn 650: Once I fought to conquer sin

1:

Once I fought to conquer sin,

While it reigned my soul within;

Till my Saviour came one day:

Then He triumphed over all

When He heard my pleading call

And He took my sins away,

CHORUS

He took my sins away,

Took them all away

Christ the Saviour took my sins away

Contentment fills my soul

His Spirit has control,

Since Jesus took my sins away.

2:

O the wonder working pow’r

In that happy, blessed hour

When my Saviour spoke to me,

And I heard the precious word

From this wonder working Lord,

When from sin He set me free.

3:

Are you struggling for the right,

Jesus has the power and might

He will help conquer sin;

He will take its power away

He will come with you to stay

And will give you peace within.

Love is a Choice: Bobby Schuller’s insightful devotional explores God’s gift of choice, the essence of love, and our daily freedom to express it

Love is a Choice

“And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.’ ”

Genesis 2:16,17

One of the most powerful things we learn from the account of Adam and Eve and their time in a world without sin is that the God of Creation treasures choice. It’s easy to wonder why He put that forbidden tree in the garden, isn’t it? Why not just design a place where people could live happily ever after without having to face temptation? Yet the truth is that the tree provided the basis for a genuine connection between the Lord and His people.

You see, optionality and freedom are essential components of love. Without them, we wouldn’t appreciate the gift of someone choosing to be in a relationship with us. Jesus chose to leave His Heavenly throne, endure suffering on the cross, and redeem us out of love. By allowing Adam and Eve the choice to obey or stray, He opened the door to relationship and bestowed upon humanity the greatest gift: the freedom to choose. This liberty means we are not mindless robots, but autonomous beings capable of truly experiencing love.

My friend, it’s important to remember that love is a choice, and each day you have the freedom to express it. No one in your life owes you their love, nor do you owe them yours. You can choose to give and receive this precious gift because God loved you first, and you want to share that love with the world. The Lord has given you the ability to choose relationships, both with Him and with others. Therefore, commit to inviting everyone you meet to experience His boundless and everlasting goodness.

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for choosing to love me. I choose to love you in return and to give others the same opportunity.

Reflect on the powerful lyrics of Hymn 654, ‘Full Salvation! Full Salvation!’ celebrating the complete redemption and cleansing offered through Jesus Christ

Hymn 654:  Full Salvation! Full Salvation

1:

Full Salvation! Full Salvation!

Lo! the fountain o-pen’d wide

Streams thro’ ev’ry land and nation

From the Saviour’s wounded side.

Full Salvation! Full Salvation!

Streams an endless crimson tide.

2:

Oh! the glorious revelation!

See the cleansing current flow;

Washing stains of condemnation

Whiter than the driven snow;

Full Salvation!

Oh! the rapturous bliss to know!

3:

Love’s resistless current sweeping

All the regions deep within;

Thought and wish and senses keeping

Now, and every instant, dean;

Full Salvation!

From the guilt and power of sin.

4:

Life immortal, heaven descending,

Lo! my heart the Spirit’s shrine!

God and man in oneness blending

Oh, what fellowship is mine!

Full Salvation!

Raised in Christ to life divine!

5:

Care and doubting, gloom and sorrow,

Fear and grief are mine no more;

Faith knows nought of dark tomorrow

For my Saviour goes before.

Full Salvation!

Full and free for evermore.
