Keep Off From Sin

Psalms_119-11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Romans_6-14: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Text:
1 John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Introduction:
Sin simply means “Simple Instruction Neglected.” The opposite of sin is holiness, comparing the lifestyles of two different people; you discover that a sinful person is not as blessed as a holy person. God’s Word tells us that He is not deaf that He cannot hear us but our iniquities (Sin) has kept us away from His reach and He is calling unto us to come to Him today.

 
Isaiah 59:1-2.
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Why we must keep off from Sin

1. Sin keeps us away from God’s reach.
Isaiah 59:1-2
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

2. Sin causes unanswered prayers.
Isaiah 59:2b
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

3. Hell fire is the destination of all unrepentant sinners.
John 3:18-19
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

4. The wages of sin is death.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Conclusion:
Sin is a barrier in our life and can be prevented if only we believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our personal Lord and Saviour.

Who plays the game of marriage alone?

Hebrews 13:4: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Some people have turned their spouse to a spectator. They’ll organise the match, play the match, referee the match, score the goal and obviously celebrate the win or lose alone. They will often wonder why their spouse is not carrying the trophy or handkerchief with them. Who plays the game of marriage alone?

 
Most times when two people are arguing, chances are they are both right. In marriage however, arguing to win the battle of “who is right” may cause more harm than intended. The key to healthy disagreement is to learn when to compromise. It takes wisdom – sometimes we have to “give in” to allow our spouse win so we can both be winners in the end. It may not be wise to say that the man should always be the one with the final say, except in a situation where a man marries a robot with no mind of it’s own.

 
There are issues that needs women emotional reasoning while some issues will demand man’s logical reasoning. Both reasonings are important to help the family move forward in a healthy way. His ways should be her ways and her ways his ways…. marriage flourishes where “my way” becomes “our ways“.

 
There can be two captains in a boat, as long as they are working in turns…. one does the day shift, while the other person does the night shift. If it is your spouse turn today, reason and compromise so there can be more thoughts to decide on. Going on and on defensively though you know what your spouse is saying is right – because you don’t want to accept defeat will only make your marriage ship capsize.

 
Couples have to be sensitive and sensible enough to know when to back off from an argument. Remember, it’s all about team work. Those who dominates never gets required support for success.

 
A successful marriage can only be achieved where couples work together as a team rather than competitors.

 
Don’t be Mr or Mrs “I know it all“, give your spouse some chance too. After all you married him or her to complement your weakness in building your strength.
No one likes to be a spectator…. especially where the issues are our issues.
It takes two, to Tango…..!

No Woman Nags Without A Reason

Proverbs_31-30-1: Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised

She returns from work and meets you already home, seated and watching soccer, with your favorite magazine in your left hand and remote by your right hand side. She returns from work and you’re not yet back, without taking off her work cloths, she dashes into the kitchen to put up dinner before you’re back.

Food is ready, you eat and dash to bed, you want some loving up and she declines.. It happens for days. She’s losing her glow and she gets easily angered, and you’re asking what’s the matter? Uncle, why are you not sensitive?

 
I know the woman’s place is in the kitchen, that’s how we came to meet it, it doesn’t matter if she works and brings in the highest pay…. But she’s still human and gets tired too.

 
When she’s drained, she might suppress it so you don’t say she’s complaining, it will definitely blow out someday and it won’t be beautiful.

 
Your Royal Husbandness, there’s nothing demeaning for you to help your wife in the kitchen. You might not even do anything, but the little fact that you’re in the kitchen with her after a hard day’s job is a consolation for her. Even if she’s a house wife, the task of taking care of even one child is already hectic, if you doubt me, try it for few hours. This has nothing to do with equal rights, I’m talking about love here, about helping your better half and supporting her as she makes your house a home. If you get back from work before your wife, it’s a good thing you help her out with the kitchen. Don’t wait for her to return and start running around to make you food when you have two hands and can as well cook, it’s you being inconsiderate.

 
Again, instead of asking her for some loving at night, offer to give her some massage, it will be more soothing to her, and while at it, try to find out how her day went. Even housewives have their bad days, we never know which inlaw came by to say something hurtful to her, or a bad phone call or a fight with a friend… It could be anything.

 
She is nagging because she has a lot suppressed, that’s the frown on her face, that’s the dragging of her feet, that’s the slamming of the door, that’s the hiss and sigh, that’s the tantrum, that’s the expressionless face, that’s the forlorn look. A lot is buried inside, she wants to talk about them but scared of being misunderstood, help her let loose Mister.

 
You’re not a husband when you can’t understand your wife’s pains and struggles, and rather pass it off as “she’s a nagging woman, my wife nags a lot“. Find out why she’s nagging, find out what’s bugging her, and work it out with her.

 
You see that woman, she’s not your paid chef, she’s not your live-in domestic staff, she’s your wife and mother of your kids…. She deserves all the help she can get from you, and that’s the prove of your love for her.

A fulfilling and highly satisfying marriage can be the most critical factor in achieving happiness throughout life. A good marriage can be one of the life’s greatest joys and the single most important factor in making life worthwhile.

 
Although people get married, it’s more difficult to stay married. Obviously we have a strong desire to be married but we lack understanding about what it takes to make marriage work.

 
So why do we keep marrying when marriage is so often fraught with difficulties? People marry for love, companionship, for a family. They marry for friendship and intimacy. The promise of love and happiness appears so desirable that we think we can beat the odds! Even when it is widely published fact that half of all marriages end in divorce, people still marry.

 
So before you begin the marriage journey, you need to go through a thorough counseling session by a highly qualified Christian marriage counselor. Because marriage means forming a connection deep enough to last a lifetime. So you need to be cautious because the moment you feel that buss of excitement with somebody new, you’re flooded with ‘Go for it!’ chemicals. But they are designed to produce children, not happiness. So you end up hooked up with the wrong partner.

Being a man material is different from being a husband material. The process of man becoming a husband is as tough as trying to refine a precious stone. And because most men can’t withstand the heat, they are simply trapped in their man’s mind and couldn’t really migrate their nature to becoming a husband. Your ELEGANCE catches his ATTENTION, but your INTELLIGENCE convinces him!

NAGGING irritates your husband, but your “Constructive Silence” weakens him!

Remember that the “boyish” character in your husband comes out occasionally, But your ability to always handle it, is a sign that you are a MATURED WIFE!

 
Every man has “Secret Struggles and Pains” including your husband, if you should ever find them out from him, Please exhibit the greatest maturity by asking the Originator of your marriage, (God) to help you with USEFUL IDEAS, that you will suggest to him (your husband)! In the long-run, your WORDS matters to your husband than your “LOOKS“! So always invest the RIGHT WORDS!

 
Earn your husband’s respect and he will consider you as the yard-stick for all his actions! Learn to mould your husband’s moods, and he will naturally give you his “FUTURE” as he recalls your maturity in the past issues!

Note that, WOMEN are everywhere, but REAL WIVES are scarce, let the QUEEN in you come alive, and your husband will always hold you in a very HIGH ESTEEM!

Every time you and your spouse pray separately for one another, great things happen in your relationship. Prayer is truly powerful. But when you pray together, that power increases tremendously, and so do the results. Going to God in prayer as a couple benefits your marriage in several ways:

 
PRAYER PROMOTES UNITY

 
On the day you and your spouse were married, you become one in the eyes of God. From that moment on, however, there is still a process of becoming one in your everyday lives. The living out of this unity doesn’t just happen; it takes time and effort.
The most difficult thing about a marriage is that there are two people in it. If you were just trying to work through things by yourself, you could certainly do a good job of it. But in marriage you have to mesh your dreams, desires, attitudes, assumptions, needs and habits with those of your spouse. The effort to do so can cause strife. When you pray with your spouse, you are drawn into unity with God and, as a result, with one another.
Praying together promotes good communication and emotional intimacy. Just as physical intimacy reaffirms your oneness, so does praying together. When you pray as a couple, you are not only communicating with God, but also with each other. You can learn so much about one another by sharing prayer requests and listening to each other pray.
Praying together invites God to work in your relationship. For a marriage to last and be happy and fulfilling, three parties need to be involved: the husband, the wife and the Lord Almighty.

 
All marriages have problems because they are made up of two imperfect people. But if you add the presence of a perfect God, then you have unlimited possibilities for drawing closer to the perfection God intended in marriage. Whether that happens is determined by how frequently and how fervently God is invited into your relationship. The more you pray together, the more you will see God do great things.

 
I know that praying together works because l have seen its power demonstrated in marriages, even in mine. Over the years husbands and wives have struggled with many different issues, and at times felt all hope were lost. Yet in those moments of despair, God intervened; He changed hearts and taught how to make our marriages whole.

 
A husband and wife certainly can’t change each other, and they can never change as much as they would like. But God can change them both if they invite Him to do so. No matter what struggles a couple have, if they keep praying together, they can see things turn around.

 
If you or your spouse feels uncomfortable or embarrassed praying out loud in front of the other, don’t be discouraged. Many people have felt that way and overcome it. Ask God to help you. Ask Him to teach you and your spouse how to pray together so you can have the marriage He wants you to have.

The only thing that will keep that marriage is KNOWLEDGE.

 
Forget about your age and how long you have been in marriage, what you don’t know is beyond you.
