But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): Romans 10:8
God’s Word is the weapon we can use to defeat the tricks of the enemy. The Bible calls it “…the sword of the Spirit…” (Ephesians 6:17), with it you can cut out anything that’s not in line with God’s will for your life. But to get it working, you’ve got to get it into your spirit!
As you study and meditate on the Word like you’re doing now you’re getting the Word into your spirit. So, make it a habit to daily fill your spirit with the Word, that’s where your victory is!
Joshua 1:8
CONFESSION:
The Word of God is in my heart, and in my mouth, and I speak it forth in faith and power, to destroy every evil work of the enemy, and establish the will of God Almighty! Hallelujah! Amen!
Thank You Jesus,
Salvation Prayers
If you don’t Know Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour and would like to accept him into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour, Please say this prayer:
Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your Will for the rest of my life. I welcome everyone to the presence of the Most High this morning; I want to acknowledge life, that I’m standing here is only by the grace of God and I thank God for that, and I know it’s the same for you, for every one of us, so we thank God for life. I would like to acknowledge in his absence, our father in the Lord, the APICR of Region 11 for giving me this opportunity to share the word today, thank you daddy, God bless you in the name of Jesus.
Before we go into the word today, I would like to make two announcements – the first one is the prayer chain; tomorrow by the grace of God, our prayer chain, the topic is ‘The Supernatural Help’, our text is taken from Psalm 121: 1 – 8; then the second announcement is around our Evening of Hymns, everybody will receive a copy of this by the grace of God after this service as we’re going out, please if you need more than one, take it, the idea is to give other people and use it to invite, we are inviting you, so you go out and invite other people, it’s a provincial program and we want as many people to be part of this program especially here, it’s the first of its kind, it’s inaugural, please come. Evening of Hymns, Sunday 22nd at 4 pm, it will not take time, maximum 2 and a half hours so that you still have time for late in the evening and also to prepare for Monday, and the dress code is white, but please let nobody say I won’t come because I don’t have white, a touch of white or even if there’s no white please come, the white around will whiten you, hallelujah!
So we go into the message for today, please turn with me to Psalm 23 – by the way, the hymn and the choir ministration already prepared a ground for my message, so thank God for what He’s doing; “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord today, tomorrow, this week, this month, this year, forever more, praise the Lord!
The topic before us this morning is Who is Leading You?, please ask your neighbor who is leading you? You know it’s easy to ask somebody a question, now ask yourself, who is leading me? The other way to look at it is who are you following? And then who am I following? Many of us know about following – I’m following this person on Instagram, who are you following?
Quick definitions – to lead is to guide on a way, especially by going in advance; to lead is to guide, to lead is to direct on a course or in a direction; and to follow is the other side of it, to move or to come after a person or something that is already going ahead. So if you take the first one, who is leading you, you’re looking at who is guiding you, who is directing you; if you say who are you following, that is who is ahead that you are coming behind from, praise the living Jesus!
So this message, who is leading you, it suggests that there is someone that is going ahead of you that you are following, that you’re coming after; the message is to stimulate us to hold on fast onto our Christian journey, taking after the One that is going before us, is also to help us to direct the steps for those who are following in the wrong direction to help us realign, it will also encourage those who have not even started at all and they are wondering where are they going to get on the track and start this same journey.
By the grace of God, in the course of this message we’ll look at a few lessons and if time will permit we’ll close it today; so the first lesson is that everyone is following somebody, there’s at least one person next to you, everyone is following even though we all want to be leaders in our respective vocations, circles or ministry, in everything that we do, the truth is that we are following someone else, at least we are all being led and as a result we’re also being influenced to do what we are doing. In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Apostle Paul says be ye followers of me, even as I am also of Jesus Christ; he’s saying you are my followers, but even me I’m following Jesus, hallelujah!
Under this first lesson, Ecclesiastes 3: 11-13 tells us that God makes everything beautiful in His own time, and in verse 12 it says that there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can; as long as we can therefore says that the life that we have is a journey as long as we can. There is a journey, this journey is full of uncertainties, on this journey we are faced with a lot of decision- making situations, decisions like today should I come to church, what dress should I wear; sometimes on this journey it feels like we’re on the mountain, everything is working, economy is increasing, businesses are doing well, bonuses are coming in, dividends are flying in every now and then, the children are doing well in school, business as well, promotions every month, like we’re on the mountain.
And some other times on this journey it’s like we’re in the valley, like nothing is working, what’s happening in this economy, what’s happening to our business, what’s happening in our marriage, what’s happening to my finances, where am I going, what’s tomorrow looking like, it’s like we are in the valley.
And some other times it feels like a war zone, every now and then you have to war, you have to do something; and some other times is like it’s peace like a river, it’s the journey of life, it’s quite easy to get carried away, perhaps to lose it or to become overly excited when it feels like we’re on the mountain, and also when it feels like we’re in the valley it’s also so easy to say God where are You, where’s Your face, and also to lose it, this underscores the need for us to follow someone or to be led by someone who knows the way or who knows where it will all end.
Then like every other journey the journey of life has a terminal point, has a final destination, hallelujah! Ephesians 3: 1 & 2, to everything there is a season, and every activity under the heavens has a time. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to harvest; so there is a final destination to this journey, and when I said the final destination, it even goes beyond just the going away from here, if you are following a leader who knows that at the end of this, because there’s a final destination there will be accountability, even in the course of the journey of life as you are following him, the leader also is preparing you to become accountable.
But if you are following a leader who feels that after this there’s nothing else, let’s all end it here, it will also reflect in the way we live and then we live as if there’s no care, live carelessly, desperately, recklessly as if it will all end here, but there’s a destination and what is this destination, the final destination of this journey is not just when we close our eyes and there’s no breath again, the final destination of this journey is in eternity, either eternal life or eternal damnation.
So if there is a leader who thinks that there’s nothing about eternal life, it says let us finish it here, but a leader who knows that there is still accountability afterwards says live your life in such a way that when you transit then you will make the best of it, hallelujah! Therefore, every man, every woman needs a leader; every man, every woman needs a guide in this journey of life.
In Acts 8, there is a story there that many of us are familiar with; there was an Ethiopian eunuch, he was reading the Bible and the Spirit of the Lord led Philip and said ‘go to him’, and as soon as Philip got to him, he greeted him and said do you understand what you are reading? And the eunuch says how will I understand when there is no one that will share with me, that’s from verses 32 – 35; and the example of this eunuch is like our lives, many people go through life but the question is do you understand this life that you are journeying on?
The truth is that we do not know except there is somebody that will interpret it to us; many of us are living, there is this Yoruba saying that ‘aba ni ikan n da, ikan kan o le mo apata’, what does that mean, ikan is termite, anytime when we see termites hill we say these things are beautiful, it wasn’t because they are intelligent, they were just trying and it turned out to become a termite hill, praise the Lord! So many people without a guide, without a leader in life will just be living life and end up anywhere.
In Luke 6:39, the Bible says “Can the blind lead the blind?” The answer is simple, to the extent that the road is straight, the blind who is leading will continue, but when he also gets to a point where it’s difficult, he falls, the person following him falls also, that underscores the fact that we need a leader, somebody who knows the way.
Lesson number two, that every one of us will therefore have to choose a leader, this choice may be by default, you do nothing, a leader will be imposed on you and you know that leader that will be imposed on you if you do nothing; you do something, you are deliberate about following a leader then he leads you in the way. There are three possible options of leaders on this journey of life; it could be a man, can be the devil and it can also be God, praise the living Jesus!
Many people pattern their lives after a man, they look at a man and say this man is successful, I want to be like him, do you know who he’s following? That’s why you find many people successful out there in the eyes of the world but to God they are not, and then you find that one CEO of this global all over the world one day wakes up and committed suicide at age 42 and you wonder ‘ah, but everything was going well’, it’s because he’s a man who is going on a journey alone and does not know where it will end and he doesn’t know where to go, praise the living Jesus!
Many of these leaders also position themselves over us so that you don’t see any other person; leaders, please if people are following us as everybody has somebody also following, let us also lead them after the One that we are following who we’ll soon see very shortly.
In 2 Samuel 15: 11-13, is the story of Absalom; Absalom was the first son of David, he was very charismatic, he created a kingdom in a kingdom; while his father was a king, he would tell people anytime you want to see the king come to me first, let us talk about it and he will counsel them, he’ll tell them what to do, even maybe possibly resolve them so they don’t need to go to the king. Over time he acquired fame, was very charismatic, then one day he decided that he too can become king now, so he chose to go with 50 horsemen, but 250 people followed him, guess what, one of the advisers of his father followed him, what did they see, a charismatic Absalom, but what happened to Absalom at the end of the day, he died abruptly because he was going nowhere, because he was just a man walking and a lot of people queued behind him.
Brethren, let us be mindful of who the leader that we follow is; if you are following a man, I’m not saying don’t follow any man because everybody must follow a man, but follow a man that is following a leader who knows the way, praise the living Jesus! The reason is that sometimes also the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked, who would have thought in Genesis 4 that Cain would lead his brother and when they got to the field he invited his brother, come let’s go to the field and he killed him there, that’s a leader, somebody was following him and he killed him, the heart of man can be deceitful, praise the living Jesus!
There was this story about four years ago, I think a few of us will remember it, some school students – four of them, girls, left the school under the understanding that they were going to see the uncle of one of them, so they went with the taxi, when they got there and they finished, only three came back into the taxi, so the taxi driver was curious and was like where is the fourth person, I think he didn’t get a good answer, out of the curiosity of course he blew the alarm and they found that the other three had actually conspired to go and donate her to an herbalist, so the supposed uncle was a herbalist and they wanted to use her to make money, that’s a leader, the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked, praise the living Jesus!
The second type of leader is the devil, Satan; the devil as we know is on the prowl to populate his final destination, he doesn’t want to be alone. In 1 Peter 5:8, the Bible says be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour; the only thing that the devil is interested in are the people that he will roast, he is very cunning, he comes in a very cunning way.
Genesis 3:1-6, we know the story, the serpent went to Eve, he did not say don’t do what God asked you to do, he said did God ask you not to eat any of these trees, did God ask you not to eat anything at all? Then she said no, God said we should eat everything except this one; see where he started from, he said no, even that one you can eat it, nothing will happen, try it, you will see you’ll be like God – deceitful, cunning, that’s the devil, and what was he interested in, he found that God was having a daily relationship, communion with man and he was envious, he needed to destroy that, he couldn’t stand the fact that the position he lost, somebody else has taken that position, hallelujah!
He comes like a spirit of wrong counsel, he leads people – his captive to do the wrong thing and he’s the same person that will go and blow alarm before God and say see the person You want to bless, see what he’s doing. In 1 Kings 13, there was this story of the old prophet and the new prophet, God has given the new prophet an instruction, go, deliver my message, don’t eat anything, don’t go into any house, turn back and go back to Jerusalem, and he was already doing that until an old prophet came to him and said even me I’m a prophet like you now, just as you were going, an angel told me that I should ask you to come back – spirit of lie.
And then he went supposedly to a prophet like himself, and as soon as they were on the table eating, the Bible says then the real Spirit of God now took over that old prophet and prophesied that because he disobeyed God he would not make it back home, and indeed he did not make it back home because on his way a lion attacked him and he was torn to pieces, he was killed, nobody could touch his carcass, everybody came there and saw it, because the devil wanted to roast somebody, that’s who the devil is as a leader, I’m trying to expose the devil, he makes his followers to feel very comfortable that even in the wrong, that it’s the right thing they are doing; they are doing the wrong things but he wants them to be comfortable they are doing the right thing, how?
2 Corinthians 4:4, the Bible says the God of this air has blinded their mind, so what he does is that because sometimes we are wondering can’t this person see that this is wrong, they can no longer see because the god of the air has blinded their mind so they could not see it again, so they will be doing the wrong thing until whatever is used to block their mind is taken.
In the Book of Acts 7, a young man called Saul was part of the people who were there when they were killing Stephen, he was an apprentice so when they were doing it they gave him the clothes, you watch over our clothes, then he graduated in chapter 8; the Bible says that he now began to persecute so much that the Christians began to scatter; and then in Acts 9, on his way to Damascus to do the same thing that he has perfected over time, then God arrested him and then that which the devil has used to blind his mind was taken away and he saw the light and the Saul became Paul who became the greatest apostle of this new testament. I pray if there’s anyone here today whose mind the devil has blinded, the Lord Almighty will visit you this morning and He will lift whatever veil the devil has put on you in the mighty name of Jesus.
So who is the third leader that we can consider? The third leader is God, our Lord Jesus Christ, who is He? He is the way, so when we are talking about the journey of life and somebody introduced Himself in John 14:6, says ‘I am the way’, if He’s the way, mind you, none of the other people have come to tell us that they are the way, so they couldn’t lie about that, there can be only one way, so the One who says I’m the way truly is the one to follow because He knows where to take you, hallelujah!
He is the light of the world; in John 9:5 the Bible says as long as I am in the world I am the light of the world’, what does it mean? The world is like a dark place, if you don’t know what you are doing you’ll be groping in the dark, but if you have the light of the world as part of your journey, He illuminates your path and then you can see more clearly, praise the living Jesus!
I remember many years ago, I was working in an organization where the only thing that you can predict they will do is that they will lie, the only thing that is predictable is that they will do it wrong, so it was like running against an institution. So one day one of the top executives called me, he said Tunde, I’ve watched you, this your God just continue to serve Him; he said you are like a man whose eyes were covered, blindfolded, and they left you to go on a landmine and you navigated in such a way that you did not detonate any of those. They wanted you to do something but it never happened but you did not know that they were plotting behind you; because there is somebody who is called the Light, even in the darkness of the world the light will take you through. I pray for you today, it does not matter what you are going through, in the mighty name of Jesus the light of the world will shine for you in the name of Jesus.
He’s the Author and Finisher of our faith, the meaning of that is that He was there when you were created; Author, He knows why you were created, He knows where you are supposed to be at a certain time, so if you are not there if He’s the One leading you, He will tell you you need to be here. He knows when you will run into troubles and He has a solution for your trouble because the Bible says right from the foundation of the world His works are known unto Him, so He knows when there will be problem and He has solutions to your problem, so if you are not following this person, life will be suboptimal.
He’s the Bread of Life; what does that mean? He’s the Sustainer, when you get to a point where you are famished, lack of ideas, lack of the will, lack of zeal to go, the Bread of Life is there to sustain you, the Bread of Life is there to energize you, the Bread of Life is there to keep you going; He’s the Bread of Life, John 6: 35, I am the Bread of Life, praise the living Jesus!
Then He knows your struggles, He sees your challenges, He knows them, He has passed through similar challenges when He was here, He can fix them, He knows your name, He knows your every breath, He knows when you rise up, when you are doing well, He knows when you are down. In Exodus 3:10, the Bible says, and the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people (God knows), and I have come to deliver them, hallelujah!
Who is this God? He is full of compassion and love, even when you are already following a bad leader, because of His love and compassion He will still come to you, praise the living Jesus! Psalm 145:8, the Bible says the Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; He’s slow to anger, and great in mercy; Lamentations 3:22, His compassions they fail not, because they are renewed every day; what you did yesterday He wrote it off, you started on a clean slate today.
To round it off, He’s all powerful, He can do all things; if you’re in the valley, His hands are long enough to go there and bring you out; if you are in trouble, His hands are long enough to keep you; if you are going through tough times, He’s able to unwind situations to work in your favor.
Proverbs 21: 1, the heart of kings and men are in the hands of God and He can fashion it like rivers of water to favor His children; He’s the creator of the whole universe; Psalms 62:1, once He has spoken, twice I have heard, power belongs to Him.
So lesson number three, now we’ve seen that we need leaders, now we know the leaders, those who can lead, your success or otherwise in life and your final destination is a function of who is leading you, do we agree with that? Your success or otherwise in life, one, and your final destination whether eternal life or eternal damnation is a function of who is leading you. The devil does not know any other place to go, he knows that he will end up in hell, the end of the devil is the lake of fire, the only place the devil can lead anybody to is the same place because he doesn’t know anything better; if it’s a man that is leading you a man will get to the middle of the road and then say I don’t know where else to turn to, so the person will be stranded.
If you are following a man, there will be disappointment; if you follow the devil, there will be shame, there will be pain, there will be injury, there will be afflictions; but if you follow God, Jesus Christ, you are bound not only to enjoy this life but also enjoy the life that comes after, hallelujah!
So brethren, I bring before you this morning the Lord Jesus Christ who is the real deal, He’s the real deal, compassionate and loving, He’s a guide of life and He covers our back in the battles of life.
We have a few examples in the scripture, Moses; Moses was born under circumstances that were very questionable but then God protected him, it was God that led his mother to go and throw him in water, it was God that led the daughter of Pharaoh to come at that same time, it was God that led her to pick him to the palace, it was God that led Pharaoh not to say this is not mine, look at his color, but in spite of that they raised him; it was God that led him to go to Median, it was God that led him back to lead the people. A life that is led by God is a life of success, a life that is led by God is a life of victory, hallelujah!
Another example is Judas Iscariot; even though the Master says I will help you, Judas Iscariot says I have another leader and the leader gave him an idea, I will make you rich quick, how about giving you 30 shekels of silver; he said ah, that’s a lot of money, but you have to do something simple for me, (you know how the devil does, he pushes people first on a slope where you can’t come back again); he says all you just need to do is identify your Master; haha, that’s a simple thing now, I will do it for you, but unknown to him as soon as he did it guilt took him over which was devil’s plan to slaughter him, you can see the different leaders, praise the living Jesus!
What determines or how do you know who is your leader or what determines who your leader will be? One point, the spirit that is in you determines who is leading you. Romans 6:16, know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? If you yield your body and say Satan you are the master, lead me, then that is because that’s your spirit, that’s who leads you, but if the spirit that says I’m after Jesus Christ, that’s the One that will lead you, so what is your choice today brethren?
Are you going to take salvation or are you going to harden your heart? Hebrews 3:7 & 8 says don’t harden your heart today; don’t harden your heart when the call comes; are you going to live in righteousness or to continue to live in sin? Hebrews 1:9, God has loved righteousness and hated iniquity, so if you want to follow God you need to love what He loves – righteousness. How does God lead? God is the same forever, brethren, He does not change; there’s this song ‘He changeth not’, He doesn’t change, Arugbo ojo, Ancient of days who remains the same forever’.
Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ yesterday and today and forever; Malachi 3:6, I am the Lord, I change not, and that’s why ye sons of Jacob are not consumed; He changes not, so His methods and ways remains the same.
So how does God lead? By His Spirit, of course we know if your spirit determines who you follow, then He leads by His Spirit. John 4:24, the Bible says God is Spirit, you want to follow God, your spirit must communicate with His Spirit. How does God lead? Through His word; for example you are hearing the word this morning, Psalm 119: 105, your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path; Psalm 119:11, your word have I hid in my heart so that I will not sin against you. How does He lead? By speaking; Samuel, Samuel, Samuel, speak Lord – by speaking.
How does He lead? He uses signs; Moses got into the field and saw bush burning but not consumed. How does He lead? Through dreams and visions; Paul had a dream in Acts 22 and he knew that even though there will be shipwreck there will be no loss of life.
Benefits, when God leads you what do you stand to gain? When out of these three possible leaders you choose God, what do you stand to gain?
Number one, when God leads you, you know that you can never miss the way because He is the way. When the way leads you you’re already on the way, you can never miss; so this issue of life, you get to one point they said you are going to start again, you get to one point they say things are no longer working, brethren, when God is leading you, because He’s the way you can never miss the way.
When God is leading you what people struggle with you will do it effortlessly. Genesis 24, Abraham sent Eliezer, go and get a wife for my son, big task, but it must be from this, this and this, but because God was leading, God positioned everything, in one minute everything was done. From today in the mighty name of Jesus, those things that you are struggling with, as God begins to lead you, effortlessly you will make results in the mighty name of Jesus.
When God is leading you, you will surely reach your destination. When a man is leading you he gets to one point and says I don’t know where to go again and then all of you are stranded in the middle. When the devil is leading you, he takes you off tangent away from your destination; but when God is leading you, He knows the reason why you were created, He takes you through that path until you get to the end, you cannot miss it when God is leading you, hallelujah!
When God is leading you, you shall not lack any good thing. That passage we read from, Psalm 23, the Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want, (why?) Because He makes me to lie down in green pastures, (abundance), and He leads me. When God is leading you, He will give you the grace to please Him. Psalm 23:3 says and he restores my soul, so every time your soul is weakened He gives you strength again to continue. When God is leading you, divine provision and overflowing provision shall be order of the day; verse 5 says you prepare the table in the presence of my enemies and overflow, when God is leading you that is it.
When God is leading you it shall be blessing forever; verse 6, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, that’s what happens when God is leading you, hallelujah!
Brethren, in summary, this our month of divine favor, do you know that to have God leading you is favor? Exodus 33:13 & 14, now therefore I pray thee, if I have found grace; another translation says favor in thy sight, show me the way, meaning lead me, and then God said in the next verse, I will not only lead I will go with you, hallelujah! So when God is leading you, you’ll find favor and you will exhibit the character of the person that leads you: if it is God you will show the kind of God, if it’s the other way you will show the fruits of the other way.
Your success in life brethren, is determined by who is leading you; He doesn’t give unconditionally, God doesn’t give unconditionally; when you follow man it ends in disappointment; if you follow the devil it ends in disaster, but if you follow God He takes you to a brighter tomorrow, praise the living Jesus!
The devil knows where he’s going, so anybody who is following the devil, the only way the devil can succeed in leading anyone is by deceit, is by lies, is by manipulation, and shrouding things in darkness because every reasonable person knows what is good and what is bad but the devil had to now use those things, hallelujah! But God is open, praise the living Jesus!
Jesus Christ is the way to the Father, we established that already, let us be sure that we take the right decision today brethren, as to who is leading you. If God is leading you, you will have a successful life and after this life you will end up in eternal life; if the devil is leading you, the devil will give one and take 10, that’s how the devil operates; he gave Judas Iscariot 30 shekels he took his life, if God is leading you, even after this life, John 14: 1-3, He said I have gone to prepare a place for you and then I will come back to take you, so that the place where I am there you will be also, praise the living Jesus!
However brethren, the first step to have God to lead you is to surrender to God; that passage we read from said to whom you yield your spirit or your body, that’s the one that you will obey; you must first yield your body to God, you must first yield, when you yield you surrender to Him and say from today I put my hands in Your hands, lead me, He will lead you gladly, He’s waiting for you.
So before we go to pray I would like as many of us who are here, you are not sure who is leading you, three different categories: you are not sure who is leading you, to be very sure come and accept Jesus, surrender your life to Him; the second category is you know and you know who is leading you, you know it’s not God, it’s either a man who doesn’t know where he’s going or the devil, you know in your heart of heart, please come and surrender your life. And the third category, if like Judas Iscariot, once you followed God but then when the allure of life flashed into your eyes you went back and took the offer of the devil, come back home.
If you are here this morning you want to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, you want to start life afresh, you want to anchor yourself into the real deal – Jesus Christ…
[Altar call]
Brethren let us rise up, let’s begin to pray, our first prayer is a prayer of thanksgiving, let us pray and say Father, I thank You, I thank You Lord for Your favor, I thank You for Your mercy, I thank You for Your leading; thank You heavenly Father, glory be to Your name forever more, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Interestingly when our mommy was preaching about two weeks ago, she made reference to a song, ‘I have decided to follow Jesus’, so after doing everything yesterday night, I didn’t even know, from nowhere that song just came, I said ah okay, so maybe this is the season for that song. So I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back, that’s going to be our next prayer point because the meaning of having God to lead you is saying I have decided to follow Jesus, what happened to Judas Iscariot will not happen to me in the mighty name of Jesus.
So we are going to pray: Father in the name of Jesus, please help me to follow You and You alone from today and forever; help me oh Lord that I will not go back, I will not go back into the world; help me oh Lord to follow You, Father please lead me all through life in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You heavenly Father, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Finally, I want us to take a prayer point for our nation; Father, please visit our nation, visit our leaders, whatever You will need to do let them follow You, let us turn that to prayer points.
Psalms_86-11-1: Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

2-Peter_3-10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Praise the Lord! Shall we pray; immortal and invisible Father, the Father of light, the giver of life, the joy and the hope of mankind, we bless Your name this morning; thank You because it has pleased You to spare our lives to witness today, today no doubt is a day that You have made and we rejoice and be glad in it,
Father please accept our thanks in the name of Jesus Christ.
Lord we have come before Your presence, firstly to worship You and secondly to have our strength renewed and so Lord we pray in the name of Jesus that first and foremost Lord, today You will register Your presence in our midst in Jesus name; You will encounter us in Jesus name; every constricting spirit using our lives for profit contrary to Your purpose in our lives, Lord You will destroy in Jesus name.
We pray today in the name of God the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit that You will grant us total victory oh Lord from the spirit of divination in Jesus name; bless us with the blessings of the Lord and at the end of everything today, You will take all the glory; You have brought us this far Lord, please see us through.
The rest of this year is committed onto Your hands Lord Almighty, according to Your word, let every day that comes be better than the previous one in Jesus name. Thank You Father, in Jesus wonderful name we have prayed.
I welcome everyone of you to this glorious service in the name of the Almighty God; personally I want to say that I am grateful to God for the gift of life and of course for His grace upon us. I also want to appreciate you, like I told the workers in the morning that it’s been a blessing partnering with you, you’ve touched me in the most sensitive part today; when I realized that my birthday will fall on Sunday I was not comfortable with it because I would have loved all the things to be my text message, ‘happy birthday’, I say happy birthday to everybody but coming to face you and Pastor Jenrola only came to inform me, ‘sorry sir, we have something to do’. I encountered the same pleasant surprise during the workers meeting and I want to say that we are grateful to every one of you, you are one of the best congregations we have ever had to do with and I say this with every sense of responsibility, I’m sure by now you know who I am and what I stand for, the day I want to express myself even if you bring a gun you know I will still go ahead and say it because I know a man can only die once and I say this that you are one of the best congregation ever, and I don’t see you as congregants but I see you all as brothers, as friends and of course as partners in the kingdom’s business, and I want to promise you one thing that we will not take you for granted, we will not take your love, the care you have shown, everything that you’ve been to us we will not take for granted for whatever reason.
I shared with the workers in the morning according to Shakespeare, he said that the love that we share, the love that we show goes round, sometimes to become a
Challenge; when you show love to those who appreciate, not to ingrates, the love that we show correspondingly becomes a challenge, so I must tell you that today, I stand before you as your pastor carrying a huge burden of the love that you have shown, but I pray that God in His infinite mercy will continue to take good care of you and will continue to bless you for us in Jesus name. I appreciate you all, God bless you!
Acts of Apostles 16, I’m sure you know to recall, today is the last Sunday of the month of April and that suggests to us that we are making steady progress in our journey to eternity, I’m sure somebody will say what is he talking about? Life is a journey onto death, we only have today and none of us can boldly talk about what happens tomorrow, but by faith we’ll all appropriate a better tomorrow, so our tomorrow will be all right but we need to note that we are making progress in our journey in the year 2025 and the good Lord that has brought us this far will see us through in Jesus name.
Acts of Apostle 16: 16 -19, “And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying”; I decree once again that every spirit that is being used against you to make you a profit to their masters, contrary to your own knowledge, the Lord will put an end to it today in Jesus name. 17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, these men are the servants of the most high God, which shew
unto us the way of salvation. 18And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved (I pray that every one of us will come to that point this morning to say look, enough is enough) turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. 19And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers”.
Today by the grace of God, I’ll be talking to us briefly on the topic “Overcoming the Spirit of Divination”; in Numbers 23:23, the Bible says surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: (It says) according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, what hath God wrought! I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that from today, every enchantment against you, the Lord will destroy; every divination deployed against you and your loved one will not stand in the mighty name of Jesus.
Talking about the spirit of divination is talking about the spirit of oppression, prolong cruelty and unjust treatment; when someone will just decide to be cruel, to treat you with indignation, to undermine your whole being, to make you look ordinary so that you can look like nobody and life on its own is a cycle of continuous warfare and breakthroughs, one breakthrough leads to warfare and another warfare leads to another breakthrough, and like I said before, Williams Shakespeare said the love that follow us sometimes is also our enemy, in other words, the more you achieve in life the greater the challenges you face, and I always tell my friends jokingly that if you don’t want to have problems then don’t pursue the cause of success, if you don’t want to be envied then don’t dare to make progress, because the day you decide to be an extraordinary man then you must be ready to face extraordinary challenges, if you remain low nobody will bother about you and that’s why this saying resonates with me that when you make progress people will envy you, but when you are low people will pity you, but guess what, it is better to be envied than to be pitied. I pray for every one of you under the influence of my voice this morning that never again will you be pitied.
Brethren, the higher a monkey climbs the more it becomes more exposed to danger; those of you who are from the village like myself who have hunted monkey before, you hardly see the biggest of monkeys, it is those small ones that you will see, they’ll be jumping from here and jumping there, the big ones usually go on top but that is their major problem, it is when they climb beyond branches you’ll now say ah, that is their mama oh, that is their baba, the next thing you fire; nobody (and that is the truth) will want to bother himself with an irrelevant fellow, nobody will want to bother himself with somebody that is just down, but I pray today in the mighty name of Jesus that every one of us, wherever you are, regardless of your level, God will lift you up in the name of Jesus.
So therefore, there is no vacation in our prayer life because the Bible says for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, that is Ephesians 6: 12, it says for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Let me tell you that life is more tragic than [inaudible] they gravitate to you when they have something to get from you, the moment they find out that you have nothing to give, they abandon you. In Matthew 13:25, it tells us that it was where men slept that the enemies came and sowed tares among the wheat, but I decree concerning you today that every tare the enemy has sown in your life, today they shall be uprooted; the one that have been sown into your finances, today shall be uprooted; the one that is sown to your health that is making you unbalanced, you are up today tomorrow you are down, every day you are looking for doctor’s attention, I decree, everything that the enemies have sown into your body to weaken you, to make you of nobody health-wise, the Lord will take away today in Jesus name; and everything they have sown into your finances that is making you to work like an elephant but yet eating like an ant, today we mark its end in Jesus name.
Brethren, the nature of our warfare determines the strategy that has to be adopted in tackling the camouflaging divination or of oppressing spirit; Bible scholars agree that the word translated as the spirit of divination, (I was surprised)| is also known as the ‘constrict spirits’, that is a spirit that folds around someone and presses the fellow down. I don’t know how many of you that watched Nat Geo Wild, you have seen a python, when a python captures its prey, what it does is that it folds around that prey and before you know it, it begins to constrict until it suffocates its prey. There are many of us that are wrestling with the constrict spirit, the spirit that folds around you and make life unbearable for you, but as long as God lives, today will mark their end in the name of Jesus.
The spirit of divination is also the spirit of distraction, it doesn’t matter wherever useful tips – useful and insightful presentations are being made, you will be looking at your phone; when things that will benefit you, that will transform your life are being said, it makes you to look elsewhere, don’t forget knowledge is power, what the spirit of divination makes you to do is that it makes you not to gain knowledge so that you will remain a captive.
The spirit of divination is a spirit of manipulation, it manipulates you, it tells you things that you wish to hear, things that you love to hear as against the raw truth so that you can be delusional and become weak, ignorant.
The spirit of divination is a spirit of deception, you enjoy deception, there are people who love to be deceived. Somebody once told me, I know that person was deceiving me but I was enjoying it, I said Jesus Christ, how can you enjoy deception, how can a man, a rational being enjoy deception; you know somebody is deceiving you and you say honestly I knew he was deceiving me but I was enjoying it and I was following, it could be the effect of divinition on that person, every spirit that makes you to enjoy deception the Lord will destroy it today in Jesus name.
The Bible says there is no relationship between light and darkness, the light shineth into darkness and darkness comprehend it not; in fact, the moment I know that you are deceiving me, that moment you lost me because there is a spirit in me that will not accept, I don’t enjoy lies.
The spirit of divination is the spirit of suffocation, you find out that before you collect your salary, your salary is #2 million but debt of #8 million is already
waiting for you, so financially you are suffocated, before you pay one another one – I remember in 1986 when I was working, I came to Lagos, my salary was #100, those were the years of NPF, we were paying National Providence Fund #2 and my paye then was also #100, so my total take home was 96 naira but I find out that before the end of the month I will have taken gari, I would have taken Geisha, I would have taken Titus on credit, that woman beside the house has a permanent notebook for me, she knew I will pay but I was under the spirit of divination; by the time the #96 is paid, I will go to Cut Chicken in Yaba, there were two major eateries there then – Cut Chicken in Yaba and another one in Pa;mgroover, I’d go and give myself a treat before I get home to pay the debt and start accumulating another. I pray today in the name of Jesus, everything that is suffocating your life, maybe in the financial world, in your marital experience, in every area of your life, God Almighty will drown them today in the name of Jesus. Everything that is not of God, by the apostolic authority, I stand on the exalted order of God and today being my birthday, I decree in the name of Jesus that none of you will leave here with shackles, with problems that you brought here today in the name of Jesus Christ.
In most nations of the world, the python spirits are at work causing marital issues, they engender financial breakdowns and creates all manners of problems, is a spirit that operates within the neighborhood, spirit of divination, you have people around you who you think they are your friends but they are never your friends. Somebody approached me some years ago, we were classmates where we were doing our Masters long time ago and it’s a lady, she said something that really put my mind on inquiry, she said sir, let’s be careful, these people you are playing with, ti a ba n sere, e je ka fi aye ija sile; I said wow, you know the Bible says abundance of what is the heart the man speaketh, when you tell me oh, if you are playing with somebody you have to create room for conflict, then there is no loyalty, the test of loyalty lies on your trust in that fellow that you are relating with until he or she proves otherwise, but if ab initio you have a relationship and you have already created a kind of a rule that one day there’s going to be a problem, you are not a friend. I decree today in the name of Jesus that every activity of unfriendly friends in your life, the Lord will expose in Jesus name.
But I tell you, for the spirit of divination to operate in your neighborhood, there must be a relationship, there must be a link because without a link there’s no way they can find expression and that’s why if you are not in Jesus Christ, you provide express links for this spirit; however, Jeremiah 12:14 says something and that is a big consolation to every one of us, it says thus saith the Lord against all mine evil neighbors, (so it is not today that there are evil neighbors, even from the Bible times there have always been evil neighbors), (it was Jeremiah) that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them. I stand on the authority of the word of God today and I decree in the mighty name of Jesus that God Almighty will pluck out all your evil neighbors – evil neighbors at work, evil neighbors at home, the one in your community, even the one in the church, God will pluck them away in the name of Jesus.
He said those things that are touching your inheritance, good health is part of your inheritance, joy is part of your inheritance, peace is part of your inheritance, good children are all part of your inheritance, anything that is touching them will touch fire today in the name of Jesus. And Jeremiah said God will even pluck out the house of Judah from among them, what that means is that where there is need for you to be relocated you’ll be relocated; where there is need for you to relocate, to change position, maybe at work, maybe at home, God will take you to that lofty place, the place of joy, the place of favor, the place of breakthrough, the place of fulfillment, if you believe that shout hallelujah.
Apostle Paul, after being grieved by the girl with the familiar spirit in our scriptures today, that is Acts 16:16-18, he said who is this lady? And he rebuked the spirit, and the Bible says he delivered the girl in the name of Jesus, and what that simply means is that even the girl was being used, the master was using her to profit, she was being used for gain with the spirit of the devil in her life but that day, she came face to face with a man of God and she was set free.
Now brethren, there comes a time in life where you need to take a stand and break away from evil forces, you don’t have to be comfortable with your situation; there are many of us going through terrible situations yet we are safe to be comfortable, the children of Israel went through cruelty in the hands of the Egyptians and what did they do, they cried unto the Lord until God heard their voice, God heard their cry and God intervened and I want to also encourage us that in such situations we also need to be mindful of what we say, not that ‘oh I am doomed’, remember in the mouth lies the power of life and death.
Paul says wait a minute, something got to be done, but it was not the first day, she was tolerated for a while until the man of God came back to his face, he said what is going on here? Brethren, don’t tolerate evil, what you tolerate is what you accommodate, when you don’t tolerate you cannot accommodate; I pray that from today, your life will become a no-go area to the devil in Jesus name.
The spirit of divination operates in every facet of life; like I said before, financial, marital, natural and of course even spiritual and etc., but I decree today in the name of Jesus that you will not be strangulated in life.
Now very quickly, what do I need to do to be free from the spirit of divination? Number one, you must submit yourself to God and resist the devil. James 4: 7 says submit yourself therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you; but you need to remember that you cannot fight for yourself, you need a higher power, you need a stronger power in Jesus Christ to take over your battle.
Number two, repent from your evil deeds and turn to God, the great deliverer. Acts 3:1 19, it says repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
And of course number three says the wickedness of the wicked must be put to an end, according to Psalm 7: 9. Paul was able to confront the demon possessed lady and of course abated that spirit of evil in her life; it says oh let the wickedness of
the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
So for God to minister to you, for God to break the spirit of divination, you must align yourself with God, you must be on the same page with God, you must repent of your sin and you must be willing to carry God along henceforth in your journey of life.
Shall we rise on our feet; today is your day, how many of you want to be free from the spirit of divination, then say to God, God, I am here today, thank You for bringing me here today, thank You for making it possible for me to be part of this gathering, take all the glory, take all the honor and take all the adoration now and forever more in Jesus name.
Now we want to raise some prayers and I want us to pray; the first prayer, you are going to cry to God and say Father, please deliver me from the influences and the effect of the spirit of divination in my life in the mighty name of Jesus. Father, please deliver me oh God from the influences and effects of the spirit of divination in every aspect of my life from today, oh Lord Almighty God, hence forth in the name of Jesus. Thank You Father because You have answered, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
In Matthew, the Bible says while men slept, the enemies came and sowed tares; manipulation, the man thought he had good plants unknown that it has been counterfeited; so you are going to cry unto the Lord and say Father, please uproot everything that the enemies have sown into my marriage, into my finances, into my health and etc in the name of Jesus. Father please uproot every tear, every seed that the enemies have sown in my life, in my body, in my health, in every area of my life from today in the name of Jesus.
Every plan of the evil one, every plan of the evil neighbors, my Lord and my Father, we pray that You will frustrate in the name of Jesus; Father that You will destroy in the name of Jesus, thank You blessed Savior, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
You are going to cry to the Lord and say Father, you know we talk about evil neighbors, people with the spirit of python, they come to suffocate, they come to manipulate, they come to strangulate but from today you are free from them. You’re going to cry to the Lord, say Father, please frustrate every activity of the pythons operating in my neighborhood in the mighty name of Jesus; every activity of the pythons, every activity of the spirit of divination operating in my neighborhood, Father please frustrate in the name of Jesus, thank You Father because You have answered, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
We are going to cry out to the Lord and say Father, please break, severe every link between me and unfriendly neighbors in the name of Jesus. Father please break, put asunder every link between me oh God and my evil neighbors, my unfriendly friends in the name of Jesus; Father Almighty God, frustrate and break into pieces oh God, every relationship, every link between me (oh God) and my evil neighbors, thank You glorious Father, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
In Jeremiah 12:14 that we read, it said I will pluck out everyone that is touching the inheritance of God for my life; it said I will even pluck out the house of Judah from among them. God is ready to relocate us, God is ready to repackage our life, God is ready to restore those things that have been stolen away from us, therefore you are going to cry out to the Lord and say Father, according to Your word, please pluck out everyone touching my divine inheritance in the mighty name of Jesus; everyone, every spirit, every human, everything that is touching my divine inheritance that will not allow me to get married, that will not allow me to get job, that will not allow me to be stable, that will not allow me to have a sound health, everything Lord Almighty God that is touching my divine inheritance, Father please uproot today, Father please destroy today in the name of Jesus; let me see Your hands upon my life and let Your name be glorified, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Brethren, you’ll all agree with me that the church is being suffocated just as the nation is not free; our morning dew today, we talked about the suspension and implication of naira for crude but whichever way you look at the matter, the thing get as e be, the country is under suffocation, there are some people who are just hellbent not to see this country make progress; Plateau state has become a a place of the blood, maybe we’ll name it another Golgotha; Plateau, Benue, Kogi, bandits. I read last night, the legal adviser of a local government has been kidnapped and of course though we cannot deny the connivance of some of the locals but we know the major people who are spearheading this.
We are going to cry to the Lord and say Father, every activity of the miscreants, every activities of the spirit of divination deployed against the church, deployed against our nation to suffocate our nation, to subjugate our nation, Father destroy them in the name of Jesus, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
And you are going to pray, every spirit that is making you for profit, they are profiting on you without you knowing, they are using you for gain, they are using you for profit, by the power that is in heaven, today marks your freedom in Jesus name. I want you to cry unto the Lord and say Father, please deliver me from those spirits that are using me for profit against Your divine purpose for my life in the mighty name of Jesus, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
I join my faith with yours and declare your victory completely in the mighty name of Jesus; by the authority of the most high, I prophesy today that the snare is broken, the weight of your divine benefits shall be notably great in the name of Jesus. From today, by the power that raised Jesus from the dead, you are far from oppression, you are far from error in the mighty name of Jesus.
Every bait that the enemies has put in place to lure you just for destruction, every bait that the enemies [inaudible] will be exposed and destroyed; your hand shall be strengthened and from today you’ll walk in dominion, so shall it be for so we decree in the name of God the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Let somebody shout hallelujah!
My God will bless you, never again will you walk back to captivity in the mighty name of Jesus. But if you are here you have not surrendered your life to Christ, all eyes closed now, I was going to leave but it just occurred to me because the Bible says sinners are meant to travail, sinners are meant to suffer and the only thing that can free you from the spirit of divination is your confession and repentance…
[Altar call]
Acts 3:19 says repent ye therefore so that your sins may be blotted out, in order for the time of refreshing to come and the time of refreshing comes from the presence of the Lord; come and say yes Lord, I surrender to You and to no other; I surrender to You and onto no man, when God has your back all those spirits will not be able to come near you again and from today you become the carrier of the power of God, you become the carrier of the Holy Spirit and from today no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper, and from today every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment shall be condemned, so shall it be.
I pray mercy will prevail for you, your sins are forgiven and your names are written in the Book of life; thank You for Lord because You’ve answered, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. God bless you, have a wonderful week!
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

1-John_4-4: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
[1]In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
[2]Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
[3]Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
SCIENCE OF HEAVENLY PLACES (EXPLORING THE UNSEEN REALM TO INFLUENCE THE SEEN REALM).
SCRIPTURAL TEXT:
Ephesians 1:1-3
[1]Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
[2]Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Yesterday we explored the first entity in the heavenly places that contends with reality of Spiritual blessings in Christ are thrones.
Thrones are Demonic Spirits that operates via an Altar in a bloodline.they regulate possibilities by ensuring a bloodline erects a Demonic Altar that serves as thrones.
Judges 6:1-24, is a rendering of how thrones can capture a covenant people of God and allow anti covenant realities to find expression.
Dominions are Spiritual entities that dominate a race, tribe, and territory with compelling forces. They capitalise on thrones to execute darkness in a territory.
If Satan has no legal Ground in a place,he can’t dominate a territory.
A typical example of the operation of dominion is the activity of Goliath against Israel.
Dominions dominate thrones.
1 Samuel 17:1-11
[1]Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.
[2]And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.
[3]And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
[4]And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
[5]And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.
[6]And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.
[7]And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.
[8]And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
[9]If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
[10]And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.
[11]When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
When dominions speak, thrones quake.
King Saul was initially regulated by the Administration of God Almighty, but in I Sam 15:22, a throne activity was activated by the Rebellion of Saul.
The Spiritual realm is a legal realm, foe every Infraction in the Spirit through sin, iniquity and Transgression, Dominions are activated to
1. Intimidate.
2. Harass.
3. Besiege.
4. Dominate in Slavery.
Dominions are intelligent Spirits of darkness that performs this four actions on territories.
When Throne of Righteousness is lost , Dominion of darkness will prevail, this is a major insight in Spiritual warfare.
Goliath threatened a sitting King, Sitting Governor of a realm ,King Saul and Saul could not Speak nor stand because Saul lost the battle of thrones.
1 Samuel 15:22-23
[22]And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
[23]For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
In God’s education on Spiritual matters, Rebellion is equivalent to Witchcraft
Stubbornness is equivalent to Iniquity and Idolatry.
Any believer, God’s covenants that opens doors to Demons through this acts of violation will be dominated.
A Goliath is a strong man assigned by Dominion to ensure your throne tribe, treasure are colonised in slavery.
And please not that Goliath had Stature, Systems of warfare( in fact the bible analysed his Artillery) but the strength of a Dominion is not size, nor stature,Goliath himself when engaging the Stage of colonising Israel the second time after the bondage of Egypt, he told David where is control tower room is,
1 Samuel 17:42-44
[42]And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
[43]And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
[44]And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.
Is the activity of gods…the Bible says Goliath carried mobile Shrines of gods, idols with him that gives him confidence to take a territory.
In case there is Dominion that is in your office Space and has vowed to delay your promotion, and you notice the domination continues, please note ,that physical personality is powered by a Spirit personality called Goliath, and without Spiritual ranks ,Goliaths will not go down.
When you see political Goliath holding Nigeria in Custody, is not by policy is by the battle of the gods…
Goliath trusted more in his gods than his guns. Is unfortunate today Believers trust their Tents than Spiritual Altars.
Dominions are specialist Demonic Spirits that operates with Curses from Deities to trap a territory.
Imagine David was empty of Spirtual Encounter, Goliath would have colonised Israel again.
Dominions used the following devices to trap territories
1. Curses.
2. Enchantments
3. Intimidation
4. Corruption.
5. Bribery.
6. Ignorance.
7. Spiritual negligence
8. Spiritual misappropriation.
David was a balanced Spiritual warrior.
David was Skillful in his Hands as Warrior and Skillful in his Heart as a Worshipper.
Dominions are in your office Spaces, they will come against you with
1. Spear. Lust of eyes
2. Shield. Lust of the flesh
3. Sword. Pride of life, to ensure no Saviour rise up in your bloodline, no star shines in your territory because they rely on utterances and Enchantments of Curses of gods to trap destinies. This dankness technology can’t be handled by will power, choice or motivation, it can only be by the name of the LORD…How is your Spiritual Ranking,
How to deal with Dominions.
1 Sam 5:1 Samuel 5:1-6
[1]And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.
[2]When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
[3]And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
[4]And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
[5]Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.
[6]But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
Dagon was the god of Philistines, and the Philistines found a way to trap the ark of covenant because the carriers of the Covenant open a loophole for Satan to transact.
The way out ,that a functionary of the Spirit must cry to God to be Jealous over his people again.
How us that Done?
Psalm 74:20 gives the Answers to deal with dominions.
Psalms 74:19-20
[19]O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.
[20]Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
Have respect for your Covenant oh LORD?
Do you know what the New covenant in Christ Jesus emphasises……
Covenant in Christ is enforced by Contention.
1 Tim 6:12, Isaiah 49:24-26
1 Timothy 6:12
[12]Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Isaiah 49:24-26
[24]Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
[25]But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
[26]And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
The heavenly places is the Unseen realm where Christ is the Governor of the realm called the Throne of Grace.
In Psalms 110:1-2
Psalms 110:1-2
[1](Psalm of David.) The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
[2]The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
The heavenly places is a realm of Unseen realities that regulates the seem realm.
Christ Jesus has been enthroned as LORD and CHRIST,
Acts 2:36
[36]Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
The first Adam lost all the blessing and economy of God to Satan and that singular Infraction coronation as the god of this world.
2 Cor 4:3-4
2 Corinthians 4:3-6
[3]But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
[4]In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
[5]For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
[6]For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
When first Adam lost the treasure to a thief called the Devil, God chose the last Adam Jesus Christ and hid all the spiritual blessings of redemption in him.
That is why, you will see words like in him, in whom, in Christ, as the access point to dominion.
The heavenly places is a throne of Administration by light.Light is the facility to expose darkness and light is what that shines and reflect what heavenly places administers.
Christ is the Administrator of divine Supernatural realm and the chief operator that makes the realities of entities of heavenly places a possibility.
All things are possible with God but it will take a believer that travels through the wheel of the Spirit of wisdom, Spirit of revelation to access the Spiritual knowledge needed to Activate dominion of our faith.
Psalms 110:1-2, Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies, there are enemies with Prophetic metaphors that must be confronted in order of
1. Principalities
2. Powers
3. Rulers of darkness in This world.
4. Spiritual wickedness in high places.
These enemies will confront our reality in Christ before it becomes a possibility.
In case there is a barreness or blockage in a family line, that matter is already settled in the heavenly places however, the Holy Ghost is waiting for a functionary of Christ to engage him in priesthood by praying the prayers of Apostle Paul in Eph 1:17-18
Ephesians 1:17-18
[17]That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
[18]The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Spirit of wisdom gives Direction
Spirit of Understanding gives illustration about a matter: Visions to expose and explain a matter in details
Spirit of knowledge gives Information about the matter.
These three are called the revelational gifts that regulates the heavenly places.
The Holy Ghost is the umpire of the heavenly places with an infrastructure called the Spirit of truth because there are other Spirits in heavenly places called Spirit of Error that sponsors Spirit of divination.
Acts 16:16, 1 John 4:1-2, because there are channels in the kingdom of darkness, fallen angels on disguise permeating and frustrating the agenda of God on the Earth.
Jude 1:6-9
Jude 1:6-9
[6]And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
[7]Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
[8]Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
[9]Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
For instance ,if there is a necromancer in your family, he has an ability to summon darkness over the entire bloodline and cast shadow of death on them unless a functionary of light press for the prayer to open the eyes of understanding to see the secrets behind the matter.
God is a God of secrets.
He dwells in secret Psalm 91:1
And sees in Secret Matthew 6:6-9 that is why you must befriend the HolyGhost to drive you into the business of redemption contained in heavenly places.

MEMORY VERSE: “So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city” (Joshua 6:20).
TEXT: Joshua 6:1-27
New of Israel’s miraculous passage across flooded Jordan spread far and wide and sent shivers down the spines of the inhabitants of Jericho and beyond. Their fear was reinforced by earlier reports of the manifestation of God’s power in drying up the Red Sea and the defeat of the Amorites (Joshua 2:9-11; 5:1). Three unique events preceded the conquest of Jericho: the circumcision of the children of Israel at Gilgal; the observance of the passover at the plains of Jericho; and the appearance of the “captain of the host of the LORD”. These events, which took place in the previous chapter, were indeed, necessary spiritual preparations for the challenging task of conquering Jericho and eventual possession of Canaan. This study examines the divine strategy for the conquest of Jericho, the commitment, patience and the consequent fall and destruction of Jericho as well perseverance of Israel in following God’s command and as Rahab’s deliverance with her family.
DIRECTIVE FOR THE CONQUEST OF JERICHO (Joshua 6:1-11; Zechariah 4:6,7; Matthew 23:13; 1 John 5:4,5; 2 Chronicles 20:15-17)
Jericho was surrounded with a high, wide, well- fortified and formidable wall so that it appeared impregnable by the enemy. The fortification must have given a sense of false security to the dwellers of the city. The thickness of the wall can be better imagined when we remember that Rahab’s house was built on it (Joshua 2:15). As impregnable as Jericho wall appeared, “…the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour” (Joshua 6:2). The gate of the city was barred, access to the city denied and any form of commercial activity outside the wall was suspended because of the children of Israel. As they advanced towards the city, God planted the dread of Israel in the minds of the inhabitants, including their warriors, according to Rahab’s earlier confession (Joshua 2:9). In contrast, God expects His people to demonstrate faith and confidence in Him in times of battles and challenges of life (Isaiah 43:1,2; 2 Timothy 1:7). All the precautions the inhabitants of Jericho took only represented man’s futile efforts at averting divine judgment and consequences of persistent sinning. But we must commend their vigilance and measures taken to secure the city. It is an example of how true believers are to be sober and vigilant and keep their hearts with all diligence (1 Peter 5:8; Proverbs 4:23). We are to be security conscious despite divine promises to keep and preserve us because the days are evil. The strategy for the destruction of Jericho was God- ordained. He gave Joshua details of how to conquer the city. “And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him” Joshua 6:3-5). The victory was to be won God’s way and in obedience to His command. This uncommon military strategy was to teach Israel to trust and depend on God, and to learn to expect success, not from their fighting skills but by divine providence (Zechariah 4:6,7; 1 John 5:4). Two, they were to learn to appreciate divine instructions and act on them implicitly by faith. Three, it was to make them ascribe all glory to God. They later testified: “For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them” (Psalm 44:3). It would amount to robbing God of the glory due to Him to think about themselves or any other person as the source of their victory. God’s instruction that the children of Israel should maintain absolute silence until the seventh day when they were to give a uniform shout was not without its purposes. Whatever they were, it was commendable that they disciplined themselves and responded with prompt obedience to Joshua’s instruction. “And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout” (Joshua 6:10). Their compliance with Joshua’s instruction to march round the city in deep solemnity without a shout is praise- worthy. How often are people tempted to ignore or forget the place of God-ordained leadership in times of crises! Obedience brings blessings. Careful attention to divine precepts and patient perseverance in following them are the surest pathways to success. It needs be underscored here that believers’ battles against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against are spiritual-“…against principalities, against powers, spiritual wickedness in high places” (2 Corinthians 10:3; Ephesians 6:12).
DESTRUCTION AND FALL OF JERICHO (Joshua 6:12- 24; Exodus 23:27; 15:16; 2 Corinthians 10:4,5; Hebrews 11:30; Luke 17:26-29; Psalm 9:17; Isaiah 55:7)
The children of Israel observed religiously the instructions given to them by Joshua. The ark of God was to be carried by the priests round the city once a day for six days, attended by the men of war in silence. But on the seventh day, they were to compass the wall seven times after which the priests would blow the trumpet seven times. At the seventh sound, the people were to shout. “And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times” (Joshua 6:15). At last, the shout of the host of Israel resonated in obedience to divine command. It was a triumphant shout; a shout of faith! “So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city” (Joshua 6:20). The Israelites’ implicit trust and faith in God’s promises was pivotal to the fall of Jericho. The sudden fall of the wall of Jericho, no doubt, threw the inhabitants of Jericho into sudden consternation that they could not resist the sword of Israel. The men of war descended on the entire city, razed and destroyed it to its foundation. The wall collapsed by the direct act of God and the city was taken because of Israel’s obedience to His word and their faith in His miraculous power. The New Testament re-affirms the fact that, “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days” (Hebrews 11:30). Through faith in God’s word, we can be victorious in the battles of life, defeat our enemies and possess our inheritance in Christ (1 John 5:4). Whatever represents Jericho walls strongholds, mountains, barriers – in life can be overcome by faith if they hold on to God’s between believers and their divinely ordained purpose promises. The utter destruction of the city of Jericho reminds who ignore or reject God’s gracious offer of salvation in us of the impending judgment on all impenitent sinners Christ (Proverbs 11:21). Jericho’s organised defence, her impregnable walls, aggressive officers, and security system could not save them on the day of divine visitation. They had spurned God’s warning for a very long time and failed to repent until judgment finally came (Hebrews 2:3). God delights in mercy and not judgment. However, when people take His mercy for granted and continue in sin, He will surely judge all sinners (Micah 7:18; 2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, believers should passionately and regularly preach the gospel to rescue unconverted people from the judgment to come (2 Corinthians 5:11).
DELIVERANCE OF RAHAB FROM ACCURSED JERICHO (Joshua 6:25-27, 22, 23; Hebrews 11:31; James 2:25; Galatians 3:10; 1 Kings 16:34)
“And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho” (Joshua 6:25). The preservation of Rahab and her household from the destruction unleashed upon Jericho was in fulfilment of the agreement made with the two spies and on account of her faith in God. “By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace” (Hebrews 11:31). The will of God for believers is that they and their household will be saved. We need to pray continually for the conversion of members of our families and claim God’s promise that He will save them (Acts 16:31,32). Rahab believed and identified with the God of Israel. The woman caught in the act of adultery and brought to Christ also received forgiveness (John 8:1-11). No matter how morally weak a sinner may be, God will receive and save him or her the same way He saved these women (Isaiah 55:7). God honours faith anywhere it is manifested. He has promised that Whosoever believes in Christ shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:15,16). Joshua’s saving of Rahab, the harlot, and admitting her into the camp of Israel pointed to the future admission of the Gentiles into Christ’s Kingdom (Matthew 21:31). After the conquest of Jericho, Joshua placed a curse on anyone who attempted to rebuild it. “…Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his first born, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it” (Joshua 6:26). Only the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron were consecrated unto the Lord. Outside of these, every other thing or person in Jericho was accursed. And the Lord specifically warned: “…the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein”. The full weight of the curse was brought upon those who attempted to rebuild the city later (1 Kings 16:34). However, the outworking of a curse upon an individual, a nation or tribe can be revoked through repentance, prayer and faith in the atoning blood of Christ because, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:13,14). Jericho did not perpetually remain an accursed city as it was later graced with the presence of not only the two great prophets Elijah and Elisha – in the Old Testament, but also by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself (2 Kings 2:4-22; Luke 18:35; Matthew 20:29). The fall of Jericho is a timely warning to all prosperous cities of the world and their Inhabitants who reject God. The assurance we have as believers is that we can bring down spiritual and legal bulwarks inhibiting the penetration of the gospel into the unreached places through co-ordinated warfare prayers and gospel outreaches. God’s unfailing promise in this regard is: “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession” (Psalm 2:8). As the Lord was with Joshua, He has promised to be with us even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).
Questions for review:
1. What do we learn from the uncommon military strategies given to Joshua by God?
2. Explain the role of faith in the defeat of Jericho.
3. What can saints and sinners learn from the destruction of Jericho?
4. What can believers learn from Israel’s obedience not to shout until the seventh day?
5. Why did Rahab escape being destroyed with the inhabitants of Jericho?
6. How can believers pull down their strongholds?
7. Explain how the death of Christ delivered believers from the curse of the law.
Thank You Jesus,
