This Is A Day The Lord Has Made And I Will Rejoice And Be Glad In It

Psalms_118-24: This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.” Proverbs 18:20 (KJV)

Child of God, the world may be crying and dying, but your case can be different. The only person deciding your fate is you. What have you been saying? If you say all is well, then it will be so. If you confess starvation, then you will have it. If you speak of lack and hunger over your life, God will not overrule them, because you will have what you say. The power of the tongue can never be overemphasised. While the world is speaking its language, you should speak from heaven, because He that is from above is above all.

Today, I have come to challenge you to maximise the power of your tongue. Remember, there is life and death in the power of the tongue. Whatever you use your tongue for is what you get. Don’t stay mute in the face of problems. Never let the devil have the last say. God created all things by the power of His word, and He has put everything at your disposal. The power is now in your hands. Don’t allow the devil to make you cower and to shut you up. Speak into your world and you will have what you say.

Every day as you wake up, make declarations into your day. Declare that it is a day the Lord has made and that you will rejoice and be glad in it. Declare that the lines have fallen unto you in pleasant places and that you have a goodly heritage. Speak over every situation and circumstance. Set your day in motion the way you want it to be, and you will reap the fruit of your lips. Don’t just think the scriptures; speak them into the day. Shape your world by your word.

I Know Who I Am In Christ Jesus

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)

As a believer you need to understand who you are and also understand that you are not here to be religious. Christianity is not a religion; it is life. The day you gave your heart to Christ something supernatural happened in your life. It is not a fairy tale. A real thing changed in your life. You were delivered from the power of darkness and you were translated into the kingdom of His dear Son.

The scriptures declare that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature-a special species of being that has never existed before. Irrespective of your shortcomings, fear and the limitation of “I can’t do it”. The fact that you are still driving on the same road, entering the same bus, or riding the same bike with other people on the street does not mean that you are like them. You are different! The scripture says you are the light of the world. You are the salt of the earth. You are the temple of God. You are the righteousness of God in Christ. Hear me, child of God; you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar person: a holy nation. You have been set aside by God to show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light. In the past there were no such people, but they have been made by God. In the past people had not obtained mercy, but now they have obtained it from God.

God wants you to know that you were created to dominate your environment and your situation. In order to dominate you must see yourself in Him. Many of us have allowed our circumstances and events in our surroundings or socio-cultural background to determine who we are. We do this instead of going to the One who made us and listening to Him as he tells us who we really are. It is the maker of a product that can name it. A name given by another person would be a counterfeit. Only your maker can identify you; any name outside of what God has called you is a counterfeit.

Remain Steadfast In The Word Of God

Proverbs_30-5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)

Many times, we feel that God is too slow in coming through with His Word. We often feel like taking a shortcut. But beloved, if you take a shortcut you will cut yourself short. Remain steadfast in the word of God.

Let us look at the Patriarch Abraham, who today is called the “father of faith”. When God promised him a son, such a thing did not appear feasible from the human standpoint. In fact, it seemed impossible for the word of God to come to pass. The more impossible it looked, the more reassuring God was. And for the next twenty-five years all Abraham had was the promise. It got to the point that Sarah begged Abraham to help God. He took a shortcut and gave birth to Ishmael. But no sooner was Ishmael conceived than trouble began in his home. Eventually, Abraham had to let go of the son he had gotten through a shortcut.

Abraham was not the only human who tried to help God. Take a moment to remember Jacob and the various methods he used to get wealth from Laban, his uncle. Jacob eventually had to let go of all that he had acquired crookedly and had to seek his true blessing. You must let go of “Ishmael” for “Isaac” to come. At times it may look like God’s promise is delayed, but be assured that the blessing will occur at its appointed time. It will not tarry, so patiently wait for it.

Please wait on God’s timing. Job 14:14 says, “If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come” (KJV). The wait may appear long but as the Psalmist rightly said, “[. . .] weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5, KJV). Your morning of joy has come. The Lord has chosen to remember you. This is the day that the Lord has made for you to rejoice in. Get ready for your miracle because it shall surely come.

God, in creating man, took the dust and moulded a form that couldn’t move, talk, hear, reason, or do anything. He took the form, stood it before Him, took part of Himself, and breathed it into that form. Then man became a living soul. When man opened his eyes the first thing he saw was God. God was saying to man, “You are like me.”

You are like God. Do not be afraid to accept the fact that you are like God, because God made you in His image. It is not anathema for a son to say he is like his father. When he does so it is acceptable. But at times we find it intimidating to believe that we are like God and that His plan for us is that we should function like Him. We look around and we are confronted by our inadequacies and errors. The very fact that you feel inadequate is proof that God is ready to do a great thing in you. God hardly ever uses the qualified; rather, He calls the available and makes them qualified. Stop feeling limited, and refuse any attempt by the enemy to put you down. Without any shadow of doubt God said, “I want to make them in my image and likeness”, and He did. Beloved, you are exactly like God.

Child of God, you are like God. And you have eternal life, so stop living a low life. Stop going about with limitations. Stop saying you cannot make something happen or that you are disadvantaged simply because of your background. If God is not limited, you cannot be limited. If God is a success, then you are a success. If God cannot be defeated, then you cannot be defeated.

You are like God your Father. Praise the name of the Lord!

When God Perfects What He Is Doing Inside Of Me, The World Will Be Forced To Recognise Me

Until the day of Jesus Christ

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

The reason we sometimes find it difficult to believe in God is because we are so used to this natural life that we find it difficult to understand something that is going on inside of us. The world works from the outside, but God works from the inside. God works from the inside in order to catch the devil unawares. The devil disregards you because he knows your weaknesses, your parents, and your background. But before he realises it, you will suddenly be in front of him when you are with God.

You are not like the world. God will not deal with you in the same way that He deals with the world. He is ready for you to jump the queue in order to get to the front. God will pull you from the back to the front, because His hand is upon your life. If you find this difficult to believe, ask David. Ask Esther and ask Joseph.

The Bible is filled with people who were “nobody”, but God brought them from the backend to the front line. It may not seem like it now, and you may not have anything now, but something is happening to you inside.

When God perfects what He is doing inside you, the world will be forced to recognise you. The world will hear from you. You will sing a new song. The same people who once mocked and asked, “Where is your God?” will see His goodness in your life. And they will follow you to Him. Your enemies will eat their words in every area of your life. You shall be celebrated in Jesus’ name where you were once despised.

Jesus Lived To Die, So That I Might Live And Enjoy Life Abundantly Today!

Romans_5-8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Luke 2:12
And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

You are probably familiar with the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. The Bible says that when the time had come, Mary “brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger”. (Luke 2:6–7) But have you ever wondered why the angel told the shepherds that the Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger was a “sign”?

A manger is actually a feeding trough for livestock. Do you know what a feeding trough in those days looks like? It is basically a big rectangular block of stone with the trough hewn out of it. So baby Jesus, who was wrapped in swaddling cloths, was placed in such a stone trough.

But why was that a sign? Because if you have seen the empty tomb of Jesus at a place called The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, you would have noticed that the place where His body was laid, inside a tomb hewn out of rock, resembles a stone trough. The Bible says that after Jesus’ crucifixion and death, Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus’ body, wrapped it in linen and laid it in a tomb hewn out of a rock. (Mark 15:43–46)

Can you see the similarities? Wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger, baby Jesus would one day be wrapped in linen and laid in a tomb. That was the sign the angel was referring to. It pointed to Jesus’ death.

Jesus was the only child in all of humanity born to die. Once you realize that, you will realize how much God loves you. You will realize that He gave up His Son for that one purpose, and that His Son willingly came for that one purpose—to die for your sins and mine.

Beloved, can you imagine living your life knowing that you are just qualifying yourself to die on the cross to save the world? That was the life that Jesus lived. He lived to die, so that we might live and enjoy life abundantly today!
