God Knows What We Need

“We do not know how to pray as we should. But the Spirit himself speaks to God for us.” Romans 8:26

You know, we really don’t know what to pray for, do we? What if God had answered every prayer that you ever prayed? Just think who you’d be married to. Just think where you’d be living. Just think what you’d be doing.

God loves us so much that sometimes he gives us what we need and not what we ask.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Sin Against Brothers

Sin Against Brothers

… there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
1 Corinthians 12:25

Being a Christian doesn’t prevent you from sinning-it just gives you the power to resist and overcome it through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 3:23 tells us, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” It doesn’t matter if you attend church faithfully, if you’re a pastor or if you’re the pope-everyone sins and everyone needs the forgiveness of God.

Christians in the church at Corinth were cheating and sinning against their brothers and sisters. Church members were taking advantage of other members, even though they were supposed to be demonstrating God’s love to a lost world.

Paul rebukes them for these things in 1 Corinthians 6:7-8. There can’t be true fellowship when there is church division.

Pray to God right now to show you when you’ve been guilty of hurting someone else. He may show you ongoing sin or wrongdoing from your past. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of the sin in that situation and ask the Lord for forgiveness.

Do not deny the existence of sin in your life but acknowledge it and repent, and you will be forgiven.

Give Choices, Give Limits

Give Choices, Give Limits

by Bishop Keith A. Butler

Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with
the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and
shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 23:13,14

Children need a healthy balance of choices made within a few important
boundaries, but parents must be strong on both sides of the equation.
Parents must give children choices, and give children limits. If all
you give them are choices, they will spend the rest of their lives pressing against authority in all of its forms, seeking the limits they
instinctively know are there.

The younger the child, the greater the limits. As the child grows, the
more choices you give him or her while still maintaining God‘s
standards in your home until that child is able to make Word-informed
choices on their own before God. Parents, if anyone lives in your house
and is unwilling to follow the rules you establish for your household,
they have to go. Let them set up their own house, whether they are
sixteen or sixty-six.

The Holy Spirit helps us grow into maturity by encouraging us to make
choices freely according to the truths in God’s Word and the voice of
the Spirit within our hearts. God always preserves our power of choice,
and He delights when we willingly lay down our freedom in order to draw
close to Him as our Father, just as lovers willingly lay down their
freedom in order to commit to one another in marriage.

Prayer for Today

Father,
Thank you for life! Thank you for your Word! You are worthy of praise
and honor for loving the world enough to give us both freedom and
limits. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Grounded in the Word of God.

Proverbs 6:32 “Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; He who does so destroys his own soul.

v33 Wounds and dishonour he will get, And his reproach will not be wiped away.”

When men are grounded in the Word of God, and are filled with the Fire of God they will not allow sexual immorality to come near their lives. They will realize that it is a tool by the devil to destroy them and their families and ultimately to distract them from accomplishing the purposes of God in their lives. There is no way to hide this sin. It may seem as if no one knows but eventually it will come out and ruin everyone involved.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The One Choice That Led to Death

The One Choice That Led to Death

by Bishop Keith A. Butler

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the

judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many

offences unto justification.

Romans 5:16

The first instance of God saying something and it not being done

occurred after God gave a limit to Adam, and satan challenged Eve about

whether God had really said it. In the end, Adam openly disobeyed the

one limit God placed on his existence and purpose in Paradise. As a

consequence, Adam and Eve were ejected from the garden and gave up

their crowns for the yoke of death.

Again, it wasn’t God’s choice; it was a human one. It is still that

way. Our choices always have consequences. God chose to risk everything

by giving us the power of choice in the hope that we would choose His

way freely and from the heart.

God gave Adam one boundary and countless free choices outside that

boundary. Humankind tends to set up countless boundaries and provide

only a few limited choices-especially when God has been removed from

the center of their lives.

Prayer for Today

Father,

I praise you for loving me enough to set boundaries, for loving me

enough to show me the good path which leads to life. Thank you for your

Word which gives light to my way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sin comes like a thief

Sin comes like a thief

A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.

Galatians 5:9

Sin works just like yeast-a little of it will spread through your whole life. A little false doctrine can compromise a whole church, just like a little bit of alcohol can compromise your ability to think and function.

The truth is that sin doesn’t announce its plan to destroy you or your life. It comes in like a thief…subtly waiting for the perfect opportunity to cause the most damage-like during times of stress and strain.

If you get the leaven out beforehand, sin cannot cause harm-it cannot destroy. How can you get the leaven out?

By making a diligent search for it! Where should we search? In the pews…the pulpit…and in our homes. Who should make the search? The deacons…the elders…the preachers…and you!

As you turn over every item, as you look in every crack and crevice, whatever is not of God or in alignment with His Word should be thrown out.

It is time to get the leaven out. Sin is not a pet…it is not cute…it cannot be managed…it cannot be counseled…it cannot be reasoned with. The only solution is to eliminate it through faith in Jesus.

Lust (Photo credit: Leonard John Matthews)

Don’t be drawn away by the lust of the flesh.

Proverbs 6:24-29 “To keep you from the evil woman, From the flattering tongue of a seductress.

25 Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, Nor let her allure you with her eyelids.

26 For by means of a harlot A man is reduced to a crust of bread; And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.

27 Can a man take fire to his bosom, And his clothes not be burned?

28 Can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be seared?

29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife;”

It has become the plague of the 21st century and the strategy by the devil to destroy the family. Marriage and the family is ridiculed and scorned on by the world and Children of God need to make a stand against the wave of sexual perversion that has us sweeping the world. The kingdom of God needs men with backbone and moral integrity that will take their place as priests in the home and not be drawn away by the lust of the flesh.

Sons of God

You received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba,” Father.

Romans 8:15, NIV

What makes you and I  think we can do without a personal prayer life? It’s through prayer that we come into a personal, intimate relationship with our heavenly Father.

Do you long to have a closer relationship with God, but you don’t feel worthy? Are you convinced you are a nobody and therefore would never be accepted, much less welcomed, into His presence?

Praise God! Our entrance into His presence is not based on our own worthiness but on the worthiness of Jesus Christ! When we enter God’s presence in Jesus’ name, we are as accepted by God as Jesus is, because God counts us as His own dear children!

Jesus invites you and I, in His name, to come into His Father’s presence through prayer, crawl up into His lap by faith, put our head on His shoulder of strength, feel His loving arms of protection around us, call Him “Abba” Daddy, and pour out our hearts to Him.

God has plans for your life. Remember God’s faithfulness

God has plans for your life. Remember God’s faithfulness

A man attending a Bible study requested prayer because he had gotten a promotion at work. While he was ready to rejoice over his new position, he also felt apprehensive. A woman who had been with the firm much longer would now report to him. He said, “I know God has placed me in this position. However, this is going to be a bitter pill for this woman to swallow.”

Most of us dislike taking medicine. If it is bitter, it is even worse. Many of us also have found ourselves in similar situations. We may have received a promotion and placed in charge of a group of people who have been with the company longer than we have. Or perhaps a new manager, whom we feel lacks ability, steps onto the scene.

Regardless of the scenario, remember that God has a plan for your life. He has chosen this point in time for you to shine and not to appear dark and gloomy. He may place you in a role of leadership where you are forced to make decisions you never thought you could or would make. Or He may have allowed you to be bypassed for a promotion you believed was yours.

At times, each one of us can view life from an unrealistic perspective. We see ourselves climbing social or corporate ladders without hitting a snag or facing many problems. In our dream, if we do come up on problem areas, we tell ourselves that we are equipped to handle each one. However, we can’t, and God knows it. He allows us to face extreme difficulty in order to teach us that we need His help and strength.

A bitter person becomes critical and unwilling to work with others. A godly person accepts God’s will, knowing that up ahead there will be another opportunity for him or her. When God asks you to swallow a bitter pill, be willing to do it. In the end, this one act of surrender could turn into a tremendous source of blessing and hope.

Prophecies for the year 2012 by Dr D K Olukoya (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries)

Dr D. K Olukoya’s prophetic look at 2012

For us at the Mountain Of Fire & Miracles Ministries, 2012 is our “Year of Dominion Celebrations and Supernatural Open Doors. The scriptural foundation for this is found in the following scriptures:

  • Psalm 8:6: “Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.”
  • Luke 10:19: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
  • Revelation 3:8: “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”

PROPHETIC LOOK AT YEAR 2012
The General Overseer in his first message of the year described the Year 2012 as “A Cryptic Year.” What does it mean when you say something is cryptic? It means having hidden meaning, being ambiguous in meaning, mysterious, concealed, obscure, coded, camouflaging or evasive, unclear, or strange.

The following constitutes the prophetic picture for the year 2012:
1. It shall be a year of positive and negative mysterious occurrences. But for the saints, there shall be no problem

2. It is a year of the extinction of the strongmen in charge of Hard Labor

3. It will be a year of miraculous deliverances for the Church of God

4. It will be a year of Divine Power, Divine Rulership and Divine Governmental Authority

5. Although the effect of the boiling year will dovetail into 2012, there are forces to contend with it.

6. The divine judgments executed last year will give rise to restoration this year.

7. A year in which the destruction of powers behind bondages and hardships will bring uncommon deliverance for many.

8. A year of uncommon restoration and the elevation of the forgotten and the derided.

9. A year of tribulation for nations who turn their back on bible authority and patterns

10. A year of disgraceful humiliation of proud and wicked rulers

11. A year of apostolic anointing in the nations

12. A year that you must key into fighting from heaven. There is a book available called “Drawers of Powers from the heavenlies”, you can get a copy to understand how to fight from heaven.

13. A year of terrible spiritual warfare. Ice cream Christianity will not work this year. And slumbering prayers will not help.

14. It shall be a year of intensive angelic visitations. A lot of people will see angels physically. People will be in situations where they will receive help from strangers. As a result of this, it shall be a year of massive disgrace of kidnappers.

15. A year of Crude manifestations of divine power

16. A year of economic dominion for those who hate wastage.

17. A year of all-round prosperity for those who bank with the Almighty.

18. A year of manifestation of innovations that are yet unknown to mankind

19. A year of horrible and intensive manipulation and falsehood

20. A year of progress for those who know God

21. A strategic year for those interested in destiny fulfillment

22. A year of new things – new businesses, marriages, wealth, children and breakthroughs

23. A year that will magnify both success and failure

24. A year when the river will swallow the fish

25. A year when the crocodile will be forced to miscarry

26. A year of major conflicts in several parts of the world. Nation against Nation, Race against Race, Tribe against Tribe.

27. A year of geographical gyration and marine madness

28. A year where a lot of prayers will be needed to avert mega environmental disasters

29. For believers who can pray, 2012 is a year that the repair of altars will bring down fire

30. A year of divine announcement of God’s people

31. A year of divine vengeance

32. A year when the Lord will tear the mouth of the lion to bring out what the lion has swallowed.

This is the Prophetic Look at the Year 2012 as the delivered by the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministries Worldwide, Dr D.K. Olukoya.

The challenges you face today is directly related to the joy you will experience in the future

The challenges you face today is directly related to the joy you will experience in the future.

When the storms of life hit, we are often tempted to run for cover. When they continue indefinitely, we struggle to find encouragement. When the rain and the wind gather strength until they turn into what seems to be a hurricane, we find ourselves saying, “I can’t do this any longer,” the truth is this: we can’t, but God can.

He is the only One who can help us victoriously fight through the battles of life. Nothing can provide the type of strength that He provides, especially when we feel overwhelmed and discouraged. He stands beside us, and He never retreats.

Daniel never worried about being cast into the lion’s den. He knew that the Lord would provide the help and protection he needed to make it through the night. Some of the people who read these words are fighting a battle with a life-threatening disease. It is an unseen enemy from a human standpoint but not from God’s. He knows exactly what we are facing and how it is affecting our lives.

There is an incredible sense of peace that comes from learning how to rest in the Lord and allow Him to take care of your troubles. This does not mean that you abandon the fight and just give up trying. It means that you shift the focus of your effort from yourself to God. This is where the true victory is gained.

The apostle Paul faced many life-threatening situations. At one point, he debated whether it was better to ask God to allow him to go home to heaven where he would have unending peace and glory in the presence of Christ or to continue living the earthly life God had given him. Paul chose the latter. As much as he longed to see the Lord in heaven, he loved having the opportunity here to tell others about God’s unending, unconditional love and forgiveness.

The challenges you face today is directly related to the joy you will experience in the future.

overcoming spiritual dryness

A study Bible.

Image via Wikipedia

Sin is another reason we feel dry and distant from God. The nation of Judah struggled with both of these problems. They were too busy, and they began to worship pagan gods – knowing all along that the Lord had told them, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Deuteronomy 5:7) Yet they ignored His command and suffered for it.

Yielding to sin and being too busy to worship God quickly leads to a divided mind and heart. If we continue along this track, we will begin to spend more and more time doing other things and less time in prayer with the One who loves us the most and died for our sins. Before we know it, we will feel tired, drained of energy, and just plain worn out. This is when Satan’s forces begin to tempt us with sin.

Even in a world of turmoil, God wants to spend time with you. Relationship is at the core of His very being, and He desires your fellowship. How long has it been since someone has told you that he or she wants to be with you – just to talk and listen to what you have to say? God wants to do this for you.

Like our nation today, the nation of Judah was in desperate need of a revival. However, in order for this to happen, the people must express their need for God and, most of all, their desire to know Him in a personal way.

Do you feel spiritually dry? Maybe you have tried unsuccessfully to revive yourself through a home Bible study or an occasional visit to church. Or perhaps you go to church every Sunday, yet you feel dry inside. If this is the case, know that you can experience a personal revival the moment you confess your need to the Lord. His care for you is unconditional. The instant you do this, He will turn on heaven’s shower of refreshment and breathe new life into your heart and soul.

God’s care is our shield

1 Corinthians 10:20

The apostle Paul wrote 1 Corinthians to a group of people who were not only young believers, but they also had come out of a pagan lifestyle. They did not have the truth of the gospel as we have it today. Yet they were hungry to learn more about the Lord and to confront their sin. They also needed to learn the truth about God and their greatest Enemy—the Devil. There are several significant truths we need to list about the Enemy.

• First, Satan is not more powerful than God. He is not omniscient and does not know all that is going to happen in your life or in the future. He may have studied your weaknesses and decided how to launch his attacks against you, but he is not more powerful than Christ in you.

• Second, Satan is a liar. In John 8:44, Jesus told us that the Enemy is the “father of lies.” God has given you the ability to discern truth from Satan’s deception. He sent His Spirit to abide in you and to bring light to the Enemy’s words of darkness.

• Third, Satan is the accuser. He will stop at nothing to convince you that you are not God’s child, that you have sinned beyond the point of forgiveness, and that your life is worthless. Don’t believe him! Paul writes in Romans 8:1, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

• Fourth, after you have accepted Christ as your Saviour, Satan shifts his focus. He is no longer interested in stealing your soul as much as he is determined to tempt you to sin, become discouraged, and turn away from your faith in Christ.

God has provided a mighty army to stand guard over your life. Even if you face difficulty and suffering, He has promised to use every difficulty for your good and His glory. His eternal care is an invincible shield that the Enemy cannot penetrate.

When we set our eyes on our misfortunes, we soon forget to express gratitude

When we set our eyes on our misfortunes, we soon forget to express gratitude

Cultivating a godly perspective of our spiritual state and our physical circumstances does not happen naturally. To fight against overlooking God’s grace and loving kindness toward us instead of complaining about our losses takes a great deal of energy and persistence. We need to develop a mindset that looks for God’s graciousness at all times.

An attitude of thanksgiving should dominate the life of the believer. Ingratitude is the mark of the enemy. Satan whispers in our ears to make us think about what God has taken away from us. God wants us to look at what He has freely given to us. “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). We have so much to be thankful for!

When the nation of Israel moved out of Egypt en masse into the wilderness of Sinai, the first thing they did was complain. They complained about the conditions, the lack of water and meat, and their vulnerability to the Egyptians. God had set them free from slavery, but already they had forgotten.

“Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called . . . Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy” (1 Timothy 6:11-12, 17).

ADAM AND EVE

Why did Adam and Eve disobey God?

Adam and Eve were sinless and perfect when God created them.
But they still could choose to do what was wrong (just like you and I can
choose to do what we aren’t supposed to do).

When the devil tempted them to eat the forbidden fruit, they
chose to do it. Although people talk about Adam and Eve eating an “apple” in
the Garden of Eden, we don’t know what the fruit looked like or how it tasted.
All we know is that it was the one fruit in that big, beautiful Garden that
they weren’t supposed to eat.

Adam and Eve ate the fruit because the devil started them
thinking about what it might be like. Then he lied about God’s rule to make
them think that God was keeping something good from them. Pretty soon they
wanted to eat the fruit more than they wanted to obey God’s rule.

Choosing to obey God is always
better than choosing to disobey Him!

In The Name Of Jesus Christ

IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

Whatsoever ye shall
ask the Father in My Name, He will
give it you (John 16:23)

All through the Scriptures, there’s no place where
Christians are asked to pray to Our
Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST or through
Our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST.

What the Bible teaches is that we pray in the Name of Our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST, for that’s the
right way to pray.

There’re folks who when they pray, would say, “Lord Jesus
Christ, I ask that You grant me such and such in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!.” That’s
wrong. You don’t pray to Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Name, neither do we pray
to our Heavenly Father through the
Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray to Our Heavenly Father in the Name
of our Lord Jesus Christ. That’s the Bible way to pray.

You may fellowship with Our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST,
and tell Him how much you love Him, and tell Him things that are in your heart,
but you don’t pray to Him.

So, if you have a request to make of Our Heavenly Father and
you want that request granted, do it in
the Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
not to Him or through Him. To pray in The Name of Our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ
means you’re standing in the place of Our Lord Jesus Christ;
you’ve become His voice.

In other words, even though you’re the one asking Our Heavenly Father
for a favour, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is actually the one doing it,
for you’re asking in His Name

This is why it’s impossible for Our Heavenly Father not to
grant your requests, since you’re asking by faith in the Name of Our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us the legal right to use
His Name. We have the right of attorney to function in His stead, the same way
a delegated member of a president’s cabinet can represent him at a state
function. When that person arrives at the function, he’ll perform all necessary
protocol in the name of the president, as he’s there in the president’s stead.
They’ll receive him as they would the president. In the same way, you’re in the
place of Our Lord Jesus Christ. So, you can’t pray through Him anymore, He
has delegated His authority to us, the same authority He had on earth to
request anything of Our Heavenly Father
and have it granted.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for teaching me how to pray the right way. I know I’ll always
receive answers to all my prayers as I pray every day in the Name of Our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ! Amen!

Zero Tolerance For Gossip

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR GOSSIP

You shall not go
about as a talebearer among your people. Leviticus 19:16

When Shayla Mcknight applied for a job for an online
printing company, she was surprised to learn that they had a zero-tolerance
policy for gossip. The employees are encouraged to confront one another,
instead of gossip about their fellow employees. If employees are caught gossiping,
they are reprimanded, and if they continue, they are fired.

Long before this kind of policy was ever implemented by a
company, God spoke of His own zero-tolerance policy for gossip and slander
among His people (Lev.19:16). Idle talk that foolishly or maliciously spreads
rumours or fact about another person was forbidden.

Solomon said that speaking badly of others could have
disastrous effects. It betrays confidence (Prov.11:13), separate close friends
(16:28; 17:9), shames and saddles you with a bad reputation (25:9-10), and
perpetually fuels the embers of a quarrel (26:20-22). People rarely can undo
the damage their untrue words have done to a neighbour.

Let’s ask the Lord to help us not to engage in harmful talk
about others. He wants us to set a guard over our mouths so that we’ll instead
speak all the good we know about everybody. – Marvin Williams

Many things that others say

Are not for us to tell;

Help us, Lord, to watch our tongue –

We need to guard it well.  – Branon

Destroy gossip by
ignoring it!
