This Is A Day The Lord Has Made And I Will Rejoice And Be Glad In It

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.” Proverbs 18:20 (KJV)

Child of God, the world may be crying and dying, but your case can be different. The only person deciding your fate is you. What have you been saying? If you say all is well, then it will be so. If you confess starvation, then you will have it. If you speak of lack and hunger over your life, God will not overrule them, because you will have what you say. The power of the tongue can never be overemphasised. While the world is speaking its language, you should speak from heaven, because He that is from above is above all.

Today, I have come to challenge you to maximise the power of your tongue. Remember, there is life and death in the power of the tongue. Whatever you use your tongue for is what you get. Don’t stay mute in the face of problems. Never let the devil have the last say. God created all things by the power of His word, and He has put everything at your disposal. The power is now in your hands. Don’t allow the devil to make you cower and to shut you up. Speak into your world and you will have what you say.

Every day as you wake up, make declarations into your day. Declare that it is a day the Lord has made and that you will rejoice and be glad in it. Declare that the lines have fallen unto you in pleasant places and that you have a goodly heritage. Speak over every situation and circumstance. Set your day in motion the way you want it to be, and you will reap the fruit of your lips. Don’t just think the scriptures; speak them into the day. Shape your world by your word.

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)

As a believer you need to understand who you are and also understand that you are not here to be religious. Christianity is not a religion; it is life. The day you gave your heart to Christ something supernatural happened in your life. It is not a fairy tale. A real thing changed in your life. You were delivered from the power of darkness and you were translated into the kingdom of His dear Son.

The scriptures declare that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature-a special species of being that has never existed before. Irrespective of your shortcomings, fear and the limitation of “I can’t do it”. The fact that you are still driving on the same road, entering the same bus, or riding the same bike with other people on the street does not mean that you are like them. You are different! The scripture says you are the light of the world. You are the salt of the earth. You are the temple of God. You are the righteousness of God in Christ. Hear me, child of God; you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar person: a holy nation. You have been set aside by God to show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light. In the past there were no such people, but they have been made by God. In the past people had not obtained mercy, but now they have obtained it from God.

God wants you to know that you were created to dominate your environment and your situation. In order to dominate you must see yourself in Him. Many of us have allowed our circumstances and events in our surroundings or socio-cultural background to determine who we are. We do this instead of going to the One who made us and listening to Him as he tells us who we really are. It is the maker of a product that can name it. A name given by another person would be a counterfeit. Only your maker can identify you; any name outside of what God has called you is a counterfeit.

Remain Steadfast In The Word Of God

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)

Many times, we feel that God is too slow in coming through with His Word. We often feel like taking a shortcut. But beloved, if you take a shortcut you will cut yourself short. Remain steadfast in the word of God.

Let us look at the Patriarch Abraham, who today is called the “father of faith”. When God promised him a son, such a thing did not appear feasible from the human standpoint. In fact, it seemed impossible for the word of God to come to pass. The more impossible it looked, the more reassuring God was. And for the next twenty-five years all Abraham had was the promise. It got to the point that Sarah begged Abraham to help God. He took a shortcut and gave birth to Ishmael. But no sooner was Ishmael conceived than trouble began in his home. Eventually, Abraham had to let go of the son he had gotten through a shortcut.

Abraham was not the only human who tried to help God. Take a moment to remember Jacob and the various methods he used to get wealth from Laban, his uncle. Jacob eventually had to let go of all that he had acquired crookedly and had to seek his true blessing. You must let go of “Ishmael” for “Isaac” to come. At times it may look like God’s promise is delayed, but be assured that the blessing will occur at its appointed time. It will not tarry, so patiently wait for it.

Please wait on God’s timing. Job 14:14 says, “If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come” (KJV). The wait may appear long but as the Psalmist rightly said, “[. . .] weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5, KJV). Your morning of joy has come. The Lord has chosen to remember you. This is the day that the Lord has made for you to rejoice in. Get ready for your miracle because it shall surely come.

God, in creating man, took the dust and moulded a form that couldn’t move, talk, hear, reason, or do anything. He took the form, stood it before Him, took part of Himself, and breathed it into that form. Then man became a living soul. When man opened his eyes the first thing he saw was God. God was saying to man, “You are like me.”

You are like God. Do not be afraid to accept the fact that you are like God, because God made you in His image. It is not anathema for a son to say he is like his father. When he does so it is acceptable. But at times we find it intimidating to believe that we are like God and that His plan for us is that we should function like Him. We look around and we are confronted by our inadequacies and errors. The very fact that you feel inadequate is proof that God is ready to do a great thing in you. God hardly ever uses the qualified; rather, He calls the available and makes them qualified. Stop feeling limited, and refuse any attempt by the enemy to put you down. Without any shadow of doubt God said, “I want to make them in my image and likeness”, and He did. Beloved, you are exactly like God.

Child of God, you are like God. And you have eternal life, so stop living a low life. Stop going about with limitations. Stop saying you cannot make something happen or that you are disadvantaged simply because of your background. If God is not limited, you cannot be limited. If God is a success, then you are a success. If God cannot be defeated, then you cannot be defeated.

You are like God your Father. Praise the name of the Lord!

I Will Never Lose Sight Of God’s Promises Concerning Me

“That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us”.

Hebrews 6:18 (KJV)

One of the devil’s strategies is to magnify the challenges you are facing so that you lose sight of God’s promises. Beloved, I came your way today to tell you to lay hold on the promises. You may be experiencing a season of contradictions but don’t give up. Hold on to His word. He that has spoken is able to bring anything to pass. You will not be denied.

Many may have seen you without hope, but from the ashes of failure and hopelessness God will show you before them all. The same people who saw you in a sorry state will see you with your testimony. This is your time of prophetic help. God is coming back to visit you. You will experience a new beginning. The person or the people whom God has sent to help you need not be your friends; they might not even like your face, but they will help you because God has commissioned them to do so. You will shine your light. You will manifest, and your dreams will come true.

I therefore challenge you today to refuse to be refused. Push back the table, hold on to the horn of the altar, and tell the devil, eyeball to eyeball, “Enough is enough.” You have all that it takes to enforce the victory that Jesus wrought on the cross. It is the dawn of a new day. The stagnation, delay, postponement, and indeed anything else that has held you bound are broken today. There is a canopy of glory above you. The delay is over. You are about to change location. It has started to rain for the drought is over!

Until the day of Jesus Christ

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

The reason we sometimes find it difficult to believe in God is because we are so used to this natural life that we find it difficult to understand something that is going on inside of us. The world works from the outside, but God works from the inside. God works from the inside in order to catch the devil unawares. The devil disregards you because he knows your weaknesses, your parents, and your background. But before he realises it, you will suddenly be in front of him when you are with God.

You are not like the world. God will not deal with you in the same way that He deals with the world. He is ready for you to jump the queue in order to get to the front. God will pull you from the back to the front, because His hand is upon your life. If you find this difficult to believe, ask David. Ask Esther and ask Joseph.

The Bible is filled with people who were “nobody”, but God brought them from the backend to the front line. It may not seem like it now, and you may not have anything now, but something is happening to you inside.

When God perfects what He is doing inside you, the world will be forced to recognise you. The world will hear from you. You will sing a new song. The same people who once mocked and asked, “Where is your God?” will see His goodness in your life. And they will follow you to Him. Your enemies will eat their words in every area of your life. You shall be celebrated in Jesus’ name where you were once despised.

Jesus Lived To Die, So That I Might Live And Enjoy Life Abundantly Today!

And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

You are probably familiar with the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. The Bible says that when the time had come, Mary “brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger”. (Luke 2:6–7) But have you ever wondered why the angel told the shepherds that the Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger was a “sign”?

A manger is actually a feeding trough for livestock. Do you know what a feeding trough in those days looks like? It is basically a big rectangular block of stone with the trough hewn out of it. So baby Jesus, who was wrapped in swaddling cloths, was placed in such a stone trough.

But why was that a sign? Because if you have seen the empty tomb of Jesus at a place called The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, you would have noticed that the place where His body was laid, inside a tomb hewn out of rock, resembles a stone trough. The Bible says that after Jesus’ crucifixion and death, Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus’ body, wrapped it in linen and laid it in a tomb hewn out of a rock. (Mark 15:43–46)

Can you see the similarities? Wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger, baby Jesus would one day be wrapped in linen and laid in a tomb. That was the sign the angel was referring to. It pointed to Jesus’ death.

Jesus was the only child in all of humanity born to die. Once you realize that, you will realize how much God loves you. You will realize that He gave up His Son for that one purpose, and that His Son willingly came for that one purpose—to die for your sins and mine.

Beloved, can you imagine living your life knowing that you are just qualifying yourself to die on the cross to save the world? That was the life that Jesus lived. He lived to die, so that we might live and enjoy life abundantly today!

Are You Able To Hear God Above All The Noise In Your Life?

Job_22-21: Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” Psalm 62:5 (ESV)

The greatest revelation often comes when things are quiet. You will not get clarity on things in the midst of noise. And noise is not just sounds that you hear – noise can be from too much activity in your life. Are you able to hear God above all the noise?

In the quiet, you can hear God speaking to your spirit. When you recognize that His voice has to be the most important one, then you can do something with the gifts and talents He’s placed in you. When you hear from God, then you must not only receive but be prepared to act on that wisdom, clarity, and revelation. It will not do you any good to be stagnant but expect God to keep speaking.

There will be noise that arises from the quiet. It will be the sound of your actions – accompanied by the sound of God’s voice ringing in your spiritual ear. What you choose to do with the revelation that the Lord gives you will be on record in Heaven when your life on this Earth ends. Make a decision today to quiet all the noise in your life and focus on hearing and obeying God’s voice.

Prayer

Lord, I make a decision to spend quiet time before You. It is in those moments when You have free reign to speak, move, change and rearrange situations. I clearly hear Your still small voice when I choose to silence the noise of distraction. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Many people are today celebrating He whom they do not know, but I am glad you are celebrating the One you know and who you have come into a relationship with. But in case you are coming across this devotional today and you are yet to meet this Wonderful Person, I beseech you by the mercies of God not to log out without inviting Jesus into your life..

Looking at the very popular scripture above, did you notice the phrases “a child is born” and “a Son is given”? It is one thing to see Jesus as a child born in a manger, it is quite another to see Him as a Son, a gift from God to you. When Jesus came into the world, He came simply for a purpose, to pay the full price for your peace so that no matter what the devil may throw at you, nothing will compromise your peace because the Prince of Peace is with you. The scripture quoted above shows that God has promised us joy in the midst of affliction. The world may be crying and suffering, but because the Prince of Peace is with you, you will be dancing and rejoicing.

Take a moment to read that scripture again, you will discover that God was speaking through the Ancient Prophet Isaiah and prophesying the end of the tragedy. Though the land had been under God’s judgment, He was saying that Israel would be great again. God was set to restore His people and break the chains that bind them. How? By the coming of Jesus. Jesus is the Deliverer. He came to pay the price that you and I will not have to pay again. So as the world celebrates Christmas, I want you to celebrate Jesus with the consciousness of the reason why He came. Celebrate Him for paying the price for you. Celebrate Him for bringing true justice and peace to the nations of the world. Celebrate Him for bringing you out of darkness into His marvellous light. Don’t just celebrate a birthday, celebrate the person and rejoice because of all that He came to do.

I See The Vision Of God For My Life

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

When darkness covered the face of the earth, God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (Genesis 1:3) When a certain man paralyzed for 38 years lay helpless at the pool of Bethesda, Jesus said, “Rise, take up your bed and walk,” and immediately, the man was healed, took up his bed and walked. (John 5:8–9)

You don’t say such words unless you see something others don’t. God does not see the way man sees. Man, however, must see the way God sees. We must see the vision of the Almighty.

The prophet Balaam saw the vision of the Almighty when the Spirit of God fell on him. As he looked down from a mountain at the camp of the Israelites, he found himself saying, “How lovely are your tents, O Jacob! Your dwellings, O Israel! Like valleys that stretch out, like gardens by the riverside, like aloes planted by the Lord, like cedars beside the waters.” (Numbers 24:5–6)

Balaam would not have said this unless he saw Israel not in the natural, but as God saw it. At that time, the Israelites were a discontented lot, always murmuring and complaining in the wilderness. But when God looked at them, He saw them like flourishing gardens planted by the rivers—fruitful and prosperous.

Beloved, God wants you to see yourself the way He sees you—“like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper”. So see yourself like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in your season. See yourself as one who will not wither, whose health will not fail. See whatever you do prospering!

See the vision of the Almighty. That vision is always a good vision. Whenever you see your situation through God’s eyes, you will find that your situation will change because when you see as He sees, you allow Him to work as the Almighty in your life!

Each time I think about 1 Corinthians 2:9, it blows my mind. No one can comprehend with the natural mind what God has prepared for you. You don’t have to be a Bishop to partake of this promise. Neither is it an exclusive reserve for Pastors only nor those that come to Church. No. It is for those that love Him.

There are things that you cannot comprehend with your natural senses, but God has secured them in the depth of His love. Those resources are discovered in the realm of God called LOVE.

In Matthew 22:36-40, they came to ask Jesus what the greatest commandment was. In other words, on which commandment do the rest of the commandments rest? Jesus replied, love God and love your fellow human being. When you do this, you have covered everything. The strength of the other commandments lies on love.

It is very sad how casual we take the issue of love in the church today. Some of us do not even understand what love is. If you love someone, you will not murmur or talk evil against the person. I don’t understand why you will not tell your brother or sister that he or she has offended you; rather you go behind the person to say all manner of things. Is it not better you tell the person to his face and settle the matter once and for all?

The unfortunate thing is that this is the issue holding a lot of Christians back today. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us that you may sound “spiritual” and still be wasting your time. You may be paying your tithe, giving to the poor, cleaning the church etc.; yet if you have no love, you are simply wasting your time.

Child of God, you need to step up. Leave those mundane things that end up slowing you down. God has so much in store for you that you cannot afford to lie down and waste your life. Only the best is good enough for you. God has greater things in store for you that eyes have not seen yet. I pray for you today that it shall be well with you. See you at the top.

God Loves Me And Cares So Much About Me. I Am Indeed The Apple Of His Eye. Merry Christmas

Contrary to popular opinion that God is in heaven watching to see when you will dare make a small mistake so that His hammer will drop on you and hit you hard so that you end up in hospital, I come to let you know that God is not at all mad at you. God loves you and cares so much about you. You are indeed the apple of His eye. He loves you so much He gave Jesus for you. When He gave you Jesus, He gave you His best; when He gave you the Holy Ghost, He gave you His all. How then can He be mad at you? God loves you with an everlasting love. His love for you is undying. Nothing can stain it or divert it from you. He loves you unconditionally.

The last time I read my Bible, it still read God is love (1 John 4:8), John 3:16 “…God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” He does not know anything else than to love because He is love, He is disposed to giving to us. Whenever you see God, you will see Him giving good things.

Because I have believed in His precious gift to the world (Jesus Christ) I am justified by faith. I am just as if I have never sinned. Therefore I have access into His grace and I’ll rejoice with confident, expectation of nothing but glory, His goodness, best, excellence, riches, wealth and everything good. Stop expecting the hammer and start expecting GOODNESS.

As this year draws to a close, don’t count yourself out. God is still in the business of distributing gifts. He still has a package with your name on it. The best days are not over for you, rather they are just beginning. I know you may have slipped in the course of the year, but like Micah is bold to say: “rejoice not over me oh my enemy, when I fall, I shall arise. Arise in the power and strength of God”. Determine to finish this year strong and start the New Year with a renewed strength and vigour trusting in the grace of God to give you all that you don’t deserve. Remember, GRACE is God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense.

God has provided us with many things to enjoy. But too often our lives are filled with turmoil instead of contentment. Four practices that create dissatisfaction are . . .

Busyness

We live in a hurry-up society, dashing from one activity to another. Jesus did not rush anywhere, yet He accomplished whatever God gave Him to do. Not once did He tell His followers to move faster. He even praised Mary for choosing to stop her work and spend time with Him (Luke 10:39, 42).

Earthly perspective

Too often we live focused on our circumstances. Our minds think about what happened earlier in the week, what’s on today’s agenda, and the activities occurring next week, month, or year. No wonder enjoyment of life remains elusive. The solution is to have an eternal perspective, which acknowledges that God is in charge and our goal is to please Him.

Self-imposed pressure

We have all experienced the unavoidable burdens of schoolwork, employment, and relationships. But we bring needless pressure on ourselves when we allow unnecessary “musts” and “shoulds” to rule us. The remedy is to turn to God, acknowledge His right to order our days, and ask for His plan.

Unhealthy attitudes

Perfectionism, false guilt, and apathy all undermine our enjoyment of life.

Satisfaction is found in a life that reflects God’s priorities—and time with Him comes first. Reading His Word, we become mindful of the Father’s great love, learn what He views as important, and experience the joy of belonging to Him. When contentment is elusive, it’s time to examine our priorities.

Many of us associate Isaiah 7:14 with the Christmas story. Matthew even refers back to this verse as evidence of a prophecy fulfilled through the birth of Christ. We sing the name “Immanuel” in church. But what does that word really mean?
The definition of “Immanuel” is “God with us.” Isaiah spoke about how God would one day remove all that separated from His love and His power, and friends, there are days when I wonder how that could be possible for me and for a world full of sin. But Immanuel is the answer!
In one name, we are able to understand that Jesus is the way to be with God. He did everything that He could to remove the guilt and stain of sin from our lives; He sacrificed His popularity, His reputation, and His own life to guarantee that “Immanuel” became a truth, not just a word.
I get so excited about this because we, who were once separated from the light and love of God, now have a way to be made His dear children FOREVER. Jesus is the way! He is the one who showed us that God not only wants to be with us, but He will do anything and everything to make it happen!
Take a moment every day to thank God for the gift of His own Son’s life. The love that our Father in Heaven has for us is so immense, and by it we are powerful warriors, blessed and always close to our Lord! My prayer for you, today, is that you are filled with the desire to embrace Jesus as YOUR Immanuel, just as He desires to embrace you!

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death”.

Philippians 3:10 (KJV)

One of the things that made Paul the Apostle stand out from among his equals was the hunger in his heart. The bible says that the man that hunger and thirst after God is blessed and shall be satisfied.

Can you hear Paul speak in Philippians 3:4-10 “If any other man thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law a Pharisee, as to zeal a persecutor of the church, as to righteousness under the law blameless”. He said “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith; that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death”.

Beloved, you need to know him because everything around you is from him. Your ministry begins from Him. That is where Jesus started from. That is why every time Jesus wanted to deal with His disciples, the Bible says He called them to Himself and said to them: “learn of me”. When you learn of Him you become successful in ministry. When you get to know Him nothing else will suffice. You will ever desire more of Him. When you know him your body itches when you see people playing magic with God. When you see people manipulating others, you easily detect it. And you will not fall because you are connected to the real thing.

Let me tell you, all this magic people are doing in the name of church will not last. I don’t know why people don’t want to learn from history, because history will always repeat itself. Don’t you see a lot of ministries rise up and then disappear? Ministries that once shook this city, where are they today? They are no more.

When you truly follow the Lord, trials and temptation will not last. You will outlast them all. As you seek daily to know him, I declare you will not be overwhelmed neither will you be distracted. I see you rise above every trial of life. You will not go under. You will testify in Jesus’ name.

Notice what the scripture says in Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God” (KJV). This suggests that the law was for the Jews and not for the new creation that is under grace.

Our text today says that no flesh is justified by the deeds of the law. The law was meant to show our sins and get us to the end of our self-effort so that we could embrace grace. The children of Israel asked for the law. Go and read the Book of Exodus again, and you will see that it was not God’s idea to give them the law. But the instinct in man for personal effort made him request it. Of course God knew it was impossible for man to keep it, yet He obliged and gave man the law. If you read the account, from the day the law was given, it was broken. Why? It is simply because no man can keep the law.

Notice in Romans 3:21-22, “But now God has shown us a different way to heaven-not by ‘being good enough’ and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way (though not new, really, for the Scriptures told about it long ago). Now God says he will accept and acquit us-declare us ‘not guilty’-if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like” (TLB). What could be more explicit? Don’t try to keep the law; instead, learn to lean on grace.

Jesus You Are The Light Of My LIFE

“In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
John 1:4 (KJV)

1-John_5-12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life
James_1-12-1: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him

Light speaks of revelation, and darkness speaks of ignorance. Our text declares that “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4, KJV). In essence, John is telling us that anyone not in Him has no life, and as a result, walks in ignorance. Can you imagine the number of people walking around the world without life?

True life is not just the act of breathing. We are talking about fulfilment here. Beloved, without a revelation of your purpose on earth you simply exist. Every creature was made for a purpose, and no one is better equipped to reveal the purpose than the Creator. Everyone born into this world has a purpose to fulfil on earth, and this purpose can only be fully actualised when you discover who the Lord and Saviour is and you consciously go on to know Him.

Paul the Apostle’s life was completely turned around when he came to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. After Paul had an encounter with the Lord, he spent the rest of his life pursuing Him. No matter the human applause, no matter the awards you acquire, you cannot fulfil your purpose outside of your Maker. Yes, you may acquire wealth, but wealth is not a purpose. You may own houses and land but they do not define your purpose. Until you meet the Lord, all your acquisitions are nothing. That is why we read today about multimillionaires committing suicide. Naturally speaking such an action cannot be explained because these people are successful by man’s definition, but inwardly they are empty; nothing they do can fill the vacuum.

I challenge you today to make the pursuit of God your desire in order to be fulfilled.
