The hope of surrender

The hope of   surrender

Luke writes, “Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in   favor with God and men.” (Luke 2:52) We know very little about the years   that Jesus spent growing into manhood. However, we can surmise that He grew   emotionally, mentally, and physically. Like us, God’s Son had to develop, and   we can imagine that while He was sinless, He learned how to live through the   circumstances of life.

There are many people today who are suffering – not because they have   sinned or resisted God, but because the Lord has chosen to develop their   lives through difficulty and hardship. In the first chapter of 2 Corinthians,   Paul does not gloss over the fact that he suffered. At one point, he believed   there was a strong possibility that he would die. However, God spared his life,   and Paul was able to write about the hardships he faced with such hope that   many who read his letters also declared faith in Jesus Christ.

God cannot mold and shape our lives unless we are willing to surrender   and to be transparent before Him. These are prerequisites to experiencing a   breakthrough in our trials and sufferings. We have no idea of the   difficulties that Christ faced as a young man – the Gospels do not record   them. Yet, we know that as an adult, He suffered and died on the cross for   our sins so that we might have eternal life. He was not ashamed of the   calling that God had given Him. Now, all glory is His, and He is seated at   the right hand of the Father interceding in prayer for us each day.

Stop looking at the trials of your life with thoughts of regret and   horror. Learn to rest in God’s care, and allow Him to work in your life to   the fullest. When you do, you will discover that He has a tremendous blessing   waiting for you. Not only will you grow to be like Him, you will be a   testimony of His grace and hope to a troubled world.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend them from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

We are the clay, and You are our Potter O Lord God

Imagine a beautiful china tea cup saying: “I wasn’t always like this. There was a time when I was just a cold, hard lump of clay. One day the potter picked me up and said, ‘I could do something with you’ Then he started to put pressure on me and change my shape. I said, ‘What are you doing? That hurts. Stop!’ but he said, ‘Not yet’. Then he put me on a wheel and began to spin me around and around until I shouted, ‘Let me off.’ He replied, ‘Not yet’. Then he shaped me into a cup and put me in a hot oven. I cried, ‘Let me out of here, I’m suffocating.’ But he looked at me and said, ‘Not yet.’ When he took me out, I thought his work on me was over, but then he started to paint me. I couldn’t believe what he did next. He put me back into the oven, and I said, ‘I can’t stand this, please let me out!’ but he said, ‘Not yet.’ Finally he took me out of the oven and set me on a shelf where I thought he had forgotten me. Then one day he took me off the self and held me up before a mirror. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had become a beautiful teacup that everybody wants to buy.

There are things going on in your life today that you don’t understand. When you finally get to the place God wants you to be, you’ll realise that He has been making you into a vessel He can use, bless, and use to bless others. So, allow God to shape you today!

Broken for a blessing

Broken for a blessing

Dear Friend,

Remodelling is a way of transforming and updating a house or place of business in order to make it more appealing, efficient, or useful. Usually, it involves a redesign on the inside of a building, but it can also include the outside of the property.

Those who have been through the process of remodelling know how extensive and upsetting it can be. Even in the best of circumstances, workers will still create dust and chaos. Yet, in order to enjoy something old being made new, you have to go through the process of remodelling. The same is true when you view God‘s plan for your life.

There are times in the life of every believer when he or she will go through a time of remodelling. It is a time when God is updating our life by stripping away old thoughts and habits and replacing them with His truths and principles. Instead of calling it remodelling, we call the process brokenness.

Just like the beginning phases of a construction program, it may be hard to imagine a beautiful outcome – especially when things have been torn apart. Sheetrock is missing, and tools are scattered from one end of your home to the other. However, before we can do the same, we have to be willing to allow God to give us spiritual eyes to see life from His perspective. After all, He is the One who holds the blueprints to our lives. Paul knew that there were many glorious benefits to the times he faced suffering. The greatest was his testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. No matter what befell him, Paul continued to trust in the One who had saved him and was in charge of his life. Have you come to a time of brokenness? If so, let God remodel your life, and you will be amazed at the outcome.

For His Kingdom

Leaving school, parting, deathlike, calls up tears. It’s my Birthday

Today is my Birthday!

Hip! Hop!! Hooray!!!

I’m a year older and wiser too!  I have been thinking what story should I write to commemorate with such a special day, but couldn’t up with something. So I dug into my archives and dug out this article I wrote eight years ago. Unedited, I hope you will enjoy it.

Leaving school, parting, deathlike, calls up tears!

Leaving school, moving houses, ending a relationship and going away generally leave a sour taste in the mouth and tears in the eyes, it makes one feel a loss akin to death.

And now as I write this, I am thinking of my friends and foes alike who have graduated and who are currently serving their motherland (NYSC) National Youth Service Corps.

Thinking of them makes me realise the transient nature of things. The here-now-gone-tomorrow phenomenon that is life.

I think of the first loud yelp that ushers man into this life and I recall that most of us shed tears on our first day in secondary school (some even cried in the university).

If life is fun, why do babies cry when they are born? I’m waiting for answers fellas!

Then, my mind goes to a baby’s feeble attempts to crawl, to walk and run – A provocation of the toils of the years. Think of the JAMB/SAT/TOEFL hurdle that is crossed and sealed. The sweat toil to get good grades and move from one level to the other.

Then the finals!

The frenetic pace.

The project to be written, typed and bound. Seminar preparation and presentations. Then the examinations. The waiting and the results .Bad ones, good ones, sad ones and the happy ones.

The good and happy ones graduate. There is the convocation, the unemployment, the employment, marriage, kids, retirement, the farewells. Then finally the Adieu!

Isn’t life such a sweet tumultuous journey!

What a struggle!

Be confident of this very thing that God who has started this good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6)

It’s impossible for you to fail

This should be one of our favourite scriptures. It should always remind us of the fact that we’re not walking alone, and assures us that God is more interested in our successes than we could ever be. The Lord is the One perfecting our lives, ensuring success in everything we do. Hence, it’s impossible for us to fail!

Well, your personal experience of life may have been one of failure. However, the Bible says “…as He (Jesus) is so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). Jesus never failed and there wasn’t a moment in His earthly ministry He wished He never came. You also must come to the realization that you shouldn’t fail; failure is inconsistent with your new nature in Christ Jesus.

Ignorance is what leads some Christians into difficulty. Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”without the adequate knowledge of the Word, you can fail or remain in poverty or even be bound by one form of sickness or the other. So many have died this way in ignorance.

You need to know that God doesn’t get any glory from our failures or sufferings. He is glorified every time we take our stand on His Word!

Get into the Word today and walk everyday of your life in the glory of Our Heavenly Father! Amen!

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for bringing me out of darkness into Your marvellous light. Through the knowledge of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, I stay strong and victorious every day. I’m more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and I declare that I will not fail, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

The power of humility

“For by grace given me I say to every one of you. Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself only with sober judgement in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.”  Romans 12:3

Humility is the opposite of pride. It is a mental attitude of holiness and its major characteristic is not thinking of oneself more highly than one ought to.

Jesus said to the woman with a possessed daughter “it is not right to give bread to a dog.” many would call that a mean statement. At that point she could have reacted negatively to the degrading statement made by Jesus, but she did not. The humility with which she accepted the statement, made Jesus confirm her faith “O woman great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thou wilt” and her daughter was made whole immediately.

It is humility that brings a soul to nothing before God, which also removes every hindrance to faith. One can only wonder what would have become of her daughter if she had reacted in pride like many would have.

Pride does not pay; the path to a higher life is from down upward, this is because; humility is the key to total sanctification and exaltation.

I must decrease that He (Christ) might increase!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Faith A demonstration of God’s Word

Faith. A demonstration of God’s Word

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

The Scripture above is the best definition of faith you can get. God had to define it for us because He knew we weren’t going to get a better definition in the world. A substance is a real physical matter that you can touch or relate with. If faith is the substance of your hope, it means faith is a real thing; it’s the tangible expression of your hope.

The Bible tells us of Father Abraham, who “being not weak in faith, considered not his body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:19-20). Abraham tangibly expressed his hope by giving praise to god; he didn’t allow his physical condition to discourage him. If there’s no substance or tangible expression to your hope, then there is no faith.

Faith is the evidence – the title deed of things not seen. A title deed is a legal document proving your right to a property; it maybe a piece of land or a house. This document authenticates your claim to the property. The same way, the Word of God is enough proof that you have what God has given to you. It doesn’t matter if others don’t believe you because they can’t see it, you already have the evidence and that’s what matters! Amen!

Confession

My faith is strong and operative. I refuse to cower in fear or timidity when faced with challenges or adverse situations, but I rise to the occasion, knowing that I am what God says I am and I have what He says I have and can do what He says I can do, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)

Nothing and no one can hurt you!

God has anointed us with His Spirit and He has given us the victory over all the power of the enemy. The bible says “Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies….” (Psalm 23:5) for the remaindered of this year God has prepared a table before us in the presence of our enemies.

The scripture didn’t say we will not have enemies; but it says anybody who declares himself as our enemy shall fall for our sake: “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake” (Isaiah 54:15). Those that gather to wreck havoc in your life, have only gathered for their fall.

In Deuteronomy 28:7, the Bible says, “The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out again thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways” in other words, you will celebrate life and your victory in the presence of your enemies. The glory of God will rest upon you in power.

God has given us peace from our enemies. By this I don’t mean they won’t be around you anymore. The Psalmist said, “O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me” (Psalm 119:97-98). The Holy Spirit will open your heart to God’s Word in a new way such that you’ll have revelations that’ll make you wiser than all your enemies put together. This means, the Bible should be your constant companion this year. Study and let the Holy Spirit fill you with wisdom to prevail in your world, for the Master says, “………be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16).

Prayer

No evil shall befall me neither shall any plague come near my household, for the Lord has given His angels charge to keep me in all my ways. I fearlessly tread upon serpents and scorpions for no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper; and every tongue that rises against me in judgment is condemned already! Hallelujah! Amen!

Hope and Faithfulness: God cannot disappoint you, His faithfulness is forever sure

God cannot disappoint you, His faithfulness is forever sure. Hope and Faithfulness

Hope links with the future. Moreover, there is a link between hope and God because He is the One who controls tomorrow. Anyone in charge of tomorrow is definitely able to uphold hope.

Revelation 1:8 says, “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, The Almighty”.

Hope is linked with tomorrow and God is the One who holds tomorrow. Do not let any man deceive you: no man holds tomorrow except God. This is why James warns against boasting about tomorrow while acknowledging that we need God – the one in control of tomorrow – to enter into tomorrow of our dreams (James 4:13-16). Many who bragged about tomorrow never lived to see it.

Another way God is linked with hope is through His faithfulness. Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that loves Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.”

God is extremely faithful. The quality of His faithfulness in keeping promises and agreements is unparalleled. There are some people around us who make simple promises that they can easily fulfil yet, they fail to fulfil them because they lack the discipline in faithfulness.

Putting all your hope in an unfaithful man can lead to great embarrassment and loss when the fellow suddenly disappoints you at a crucial time.

God cannot disappoint you! Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”

God doesn’t only keep covenants but He is the greatest covenant keeper as He can fulfil His promise to an individual or a family for up to a thousand generations!

What a wonderful God we serve!

This thing called dating

THIS THING CALLED DATING

By Tomide (A Guest Writer)

“Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit Who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

What is dating? I’m sure that’s a pretty easy question for us to answer. Although the dictionary gives us a somewhat different meaning, when we say two people are dating, we simply mean that they are romantically involved with each other and are possibly having a physical relationship with each other. Now, we Christians substitute the word “dating” with “courting”, but what we don’t know is that if we do not get our principles right, if we do not apply the “rules” of relationship that God has set down for us in His Word, then the two words are only different in the ways they are spelt and pronounced, nothing else.

One reason why we date is because we want to enjoy the emotional and physical benefits of intimacy without the responsibility of real commitment. I read a book once and one thing the author said really stuck. He said “Dating makes you want what you can’t (shouldn’t) have.” It doesn’t just make us want to have sex, it makes us want to kiss, touch and be touched sensually and invoke feelings that are better left concealed while we are still unmarried.

This is a call for us to be different. It is a call for us to take a daring attitude towards the dating game. It is a call for us to totally serve and honour God with our bodies and purified minds while we are single. It is a call to let go of ‘unfruitful’ relationships and allow God bring our partners our way at the right time. It is a call for us to say “game over”.

For a very long time, I had an aversion towards “Relationships”. I couldn’t explain why but I just didn’t want to be involved in the whole dating game. While some of my age mates (and even people younger than me) were already boasting of numerous boyfriends, I could only boast of none – zero! I got called different names from “weird” to “lesbian” (by the way, I’m perfectly straight) all because I refused to join the game. So yes, we will be called names, we might feel odd in the midst of people with different opinions but let’s choose to stand for Christ and serve Him with all our might while we are single and not distracted.

It’s time for us to stand up and be the “Holy Nation” that God has called us to be!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Framed By The Word Of God

FRAMED
BY THE WORD OF GOD

And he said unto them, cast the net
on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and they
were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes (John 21:6)

The
Lord Jesus appeared to His disciple many times after His resurrection. On one
of such occasions, He appeared to them when they were returning from an
unsuccessful fishing trip. The disciples, who had gone back to fishing, had
toiled all night at sea and caught nothing. When Jesus appeared to them in the
morning, He asked them if they caught anything, but their reply was negative.
Jesus then said to them, “Cast the net on
the right side of the ship and you shall find”
(John 21:6)

I
want you to mark Jesus’ word carefully, He said, “Cast the net on the right side of the ship. “ if there was one
place in all the waters where the disciples weren’t expected to find any fish,
it was definitely around their ship as they had troubled that spot all night
long. The fishes ought to have fled from there. But the Bible says, “…..they threw the net out and could not
pull it back in, because they had caught so many fish”
(John 21:6 TEV).
Now, the big question is: “Where did all the fish come from?” I’ll tell you
that they came from the Word of the Master!

The
Bible says, “Now faith is the substance
of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen….Through faith, we
understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God
(Hebrews 11:1-3).
Those fishes were framed by the Word of God, Hallelujah! In Genesis, the Bible says
God spoke to the water and it brought forth fishes. Now, Jesus, the living Word
of God, speaks again and His words go out to frame the fishes!

If
Jesus is the Lord of your life, happy are you; you’ll live a life free of
worries, knowing that His Words can frame things to being in your life. All you
need do is discover what He said about you from the Bible and being to
appropriate it to yourself. That way you’ll effect any change you desire in
your job, finances, family, business, academics, health, or character, and
you’ll never be disadvantaged in life.

CONFESSION

I’m a product of God’s Word. My life
is full of rest for I know the Word of God upholds me. I will never lack in my life
as God’s Word is able to provide for me everything I require to be a success.

The Word Of God Is Powerful

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

THE WORD OF
GOD IS POWERFUL

So mightily grew the Word of God and
prevailed (Acts 19:20)

The Word of
God is powerful, for it is the power that created the universe and the force
that keeps everything in its course (Hebrews 1:3). Once you can open your heart
to the Word and receive it by faith, there’s no limit to what it can do in your
life. The Word of God doesn’t consider the size of the problem or the gravity
of the doctor’s report, neither is it intimidated by the name of the sickness
or disease. It has no restrictions; all it requires is for you to believe and
have absolute faith in it. In other words, when you receive God’s Word gladly
into your heart, believing what it says and confessing the same with your
mouth, you’re creating the right environment for the Word to settle in you and
that way, it will yield amazing results.

The Lord
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and the Scribes in Mark 7:13 because according to
Him they had made the Word of God powerless by their traditions. That means the
Word needs to be in the right environment to be effective; that is, the environment
of faith. Hebrews 4:2 says, “For unto us
was the gospel preached, as well as unto them; but the word preached did not
profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it”
The Word might encounter restrictions or
resistance but those who receive the Word and speak the Word by faith can
change any situation.

When you
receive the Word into your spirit, it brings life, and effects changes. It doesn’t
consider the appearance of the building or the continent for it is backed with
power (Isaiah 55:11). Therefore, put your confidence in the ability and the
power of the Word. Refuse to speak words that could hinder its results; create
an environment of faith so it can prevail and bring healing to your body and
any other change you require. Amen!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank You for the
power vested in Your Word to transform any situation in my life. Your Word is
my final authority; therefore, I refuse to be moved by circumstances of life. I
walk through life with boldness and assurance of faith, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

God Sent His Word, and Healed Them, and Delivered Them From Their Destructions

HE SENT HIS
WORD, AND HEALED THEM, AND DELIVERED THEM FROM THEIR DESTRUCTIONS

Psalm 107:20

Psalm 107
gives a graphic picture of those who are in trouble. It says “Fools because of their transgressions, and
because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of
food; and they draw near unto the gates of death” (
verse 17-18). Who are
these “fools?” it’s talking about those that reject knowledge of God’s Word.
They experience all kinds of trouble in their lives because of their ignorance
of the Word.

Then, the
Bible says they “cry unto the Lord in
their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses”
(verse 19). But
how exactly did the Lord save them? The Bible says, He sent HIS WORD, and healed them… “His answer
to their crying was to send His Word! This is the principle you need to
understand today. God’s answer to
whatever trouble anyone is facing is to send His Word!
It makes no
difference what the trouble is; whether it’s sickness, bankruptcy, marital
problems, or failure at school. Once you have God’s Word in that area, you have
the answer. God’s answer is to send His Word.

The Word of
God produces in your life whatever it talks about. If it’s a message of healing
and health, it will heal you if you receive it into your heart. If it’s a
message of prosperity and material wealth, it will produce the same in your
life. That’s why you cannot afford to miss church services or neglect your
times of Bible study, because the answer that you need is right there in the
Word. Every day, open your spirit and welcome the Word into your heart. As you
do this, it will produce that which you need in your life.

CONFESSION

I welcome the Word of God into my
heart today. It produces in my life everything that it talks about and
navigates my life in God’s Will for me. I love God’s Word and I yearn to
receive more and more of it every day, because it is God’s answer to all life’s
questions! In Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

For God So Loved The World That He Gave His Only Begotten Son

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

FOR GOD SO
LOVED THE THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON

For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life (John 3:16)

John 3:16 is
probably the most popular verse in the Bible, but many haven’t understood the
power of that little powerful verse. What world did God love? Was it the hills
and the mountains? Was it the vegetations and the rivers? It was none of these.
He loved the world of human beings, as sinful and wicked as they were! Doesn’t
it amaze you that even when Adam sinned back in the garden, it was still God
who came looking for him (Genesis 3). Adam was hiding from God, because he had
sinned, yet God still covered his nakedness with animal skin, showing that he loved
him.

The Bible
says “Herein is love, not that we loved
God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our
sins” (
1 John 4:10). So, clearly God demonstrated His great and boundless
love for us, while we were yet in sin. You may be reading this today and
perhaps you’re not born again and you’re wondering, “Can God possibly love
someone like me?” Emphatically yes! No matter what kind of life you may have
lived, He wants you today!

Now that you
know how much God loved the world of sinners, think about how much more He
loves those who are born of Him! The Bible says “if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life”
(Romans
5:10). If He loved the world of wicked men, He loves His kids even more.

If you’re
born again, you have no business with poverty, sickness and failure. God has
given us HIS OWN LIFE, and
everything that belongs to Him (Romans 8:17). He did all this because it’s been
poured out abundantly for you.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for
lavishing Your love on me. I am so glad that you sent Your Son Jesus Christ to
die for me, and I am even more glad to be called Your Son today! Help me, I
pray to comprehend the length, breadth and height of that love, in Jesus Christ
Name! Amen!

The Prayer Faith

THE PRAYER
OF FAITH

And Jesus answering said unto them,
Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto
this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not
doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he said shall
come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he said (Mark 11:22-23)

The prayer
of faith is one of the different kinds of prayer and it has it peculiar rules
and requirements. This prayer involves making a request to God and speaking to
circumstances without having any doubt in your heart. When Jesus said here,
“Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22), some marginal references show us that it
actually reads “Have the faith of God”. In other words, Jesus said, “Have the
God-kind of faith; the supernatural faith that God applies.”

The word
“believe” in the opening scripture is a verb formed from two Anglo-Saxon words.
The first part means, “to accept that something is or exists”, and the second
part means, “to act like it is.” Bringing them together gives the meaning “to
accept that something is or exists and to act like it”, thus making the word
“believe” an action word that bring about possession. The “believer” therefore
is “a possessor”, not one living only in the realm of hope.

Mark 11:23
says “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain…….” This means anything is
possible by your declaration of faith. As you issue commands in faith without
doubting, you can have whatsoever you say, praise God! The prayer of faith is
prayed about things that concern you or are under your authority.

In the prayer
of faith, there must be a specific desire, a faith utterance, a definite belief
in your heart that gives no place for doubt, and the assurance that what you
say must surely come to pass. Pray this prayer often and watch your life take
an upward and irreversible turn.

CONFESSION

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for
Your Word and its ability to produce for me what it talks about. Today, I speak
forth Your Word with faith in my spirit. As I speak and believe that those
things I say will come to pass, I will have whatsoever I say, in Jesus Christ
Mighty Name I pray! Amen!

    DIVINE PRESERVATION (THE WIDOW OF
    ZAREPHATH) 1 KINGS 17:8-16.

Why did God send Elijah to the widow? God knew she was a giver; she was
saved with her household.

Be an obsessed giver.

God will preserve a passionate giver.

  1. 3.
    DIVINE TREASURER 2 KINGS  4:8-17

The Shunammite woman voluntarily gave to Elisha. She gave food, then a
home. God gave her what money cannot buy: A
Child.

Solomon receive a blank cheque from
God

Solomon gave 1000 burnt offerings to God

God gave him a blank cheque.

God asked him to ask whatsoever he wanted.

He asked for divine treasure of wisdom; God gave him more than he asked
for.

  1. 5.
    DIVINE ATTENTION MARK 12:41-44

Widow’s mite.

God pays attention to giving. When the widow gave all that she had; Jesus
called the disciples to see what the widow did.

God knows our ability.

  1. 6.
    DIVINE VISTATION ACTS 10:1-4

Story of Cornelius

Cornelius gave unreservedly!

It was as if it was not noticed until God visited; God remembered them
and paid them a visit.

For God’s Glory

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

WE ARE
CREATED FOR GOD’S GLORY

Even every one that is called by my
name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made
him (Isaiah 43:7)

The reason
many people still find themselves in regrettable circumstances is that they
haven’t come in terms with their identity in Christ Jesus. You must realize
that God made you, not so you’ll be defeated or fail in life, He created you
for glory and for beauty – you’re His Best! The Bible says “Of His own will begat He us with the word of truth, that we should be
a kind of first – fruits of His creatures”
(James 1:18). To be the first
fruit of His creatures means you’re the first and the best!

You’re the
best of you that there is. No wonder God loves to brag and show off with you! You’re
His peculiar treasure: “But ye are a
chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that
ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness
into His marvellous light”
(1 Peter 2:9). Therefore, take pleasure in your
uniqueness; delight in your peculiarity, for no one else in the world can do
the things you do. No one can take your place; you must bless the world with
the investment of your personality.

You’re not
struggling to be the best, you’re the best! In Matthew 4:19, Jesus met two
fishermen (Peter and Andrew) and said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Now, the exciting
thing about those words of Jesus Christ is the fact that He (Christ) was the
One “making” them, and not they “trying” to become. God has made you who you
are – a bundle of success; an achiever, and a victor in Christ Jesus, and no
one can unmake what God has made! He lives in you to ensure you become that
dream that you have in your spirit.

Let this
mind be in you today, not only do you deserve the best, you’re the best! God gave
His Son Jesus Christ – His best to die in your place, that shows your true
value. You only give the best to get the best. Wake up! Rise! Shake yourself
out of the dust, and be the person God has ordained you to be, for He has made
you for glory, and for beauty – you’re the best!

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father! Thank You for
choosing me out of the world for Your glory. Thank You for the divine ability
You’ve given me to be a success and a victor in life. I declare that my life is
for Your praise, glory and beauty, as I take the necessary steps today to bring
forth durable fruits unto Your Holy Name!
Amen!

Give God Your Best

GIVE GOD YOUR BEST

God doesn’t
just deserve your best, He deserves the best. In fact, He demands it, and He’ll
accept nothing less. Anytime you give God the best of what you have, you active
a Biblical principle and you’re blessed for you action of faith and trust.

When God
gave the Law to the children of Israel, He specifically warned them never to
bring anything less than the best before His altar as offering: “And if there be any blemish therein, as if
it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shall not sacrifice it unto
the Lord thy God”
(Deuteronomy 15:21). If they did, they would come under a
curse. And this was their sin against the Lord many years later (Malachi
1:13-14).

When we
needed a Saviour, He didn’t send an angel, He gave His Son to die for our sins,
and when we needed a teacher, He send His Holy Spirit to live in us to teach us
all things, and bring us into all truth. God doesn’t consider anything too good
for you; this same attitude is what He expects in our service and dedication to
Him. We’re to give Him our ALL! We’re to give Him the very best of all we have
– our time, resource, energy – our life, for He deserves the best!

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for
the privilege and opportunity to put Your Word to work and watch it produce
results. Today, I reaffirm that all I am, and all I have are Yours forever, and
I will forever worship You with the very best of my substance as a token of my
gratitude to You, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

Worship Is Sacrifical

WORSHIP IS
SACRIFICAL

READ: Genesis 22:1-14

“Take with you words,
and turn to the Lord: say unto Him, ‘Take away all our iniquity, and receive us
graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.”  (Hosea 14:2)

Worship is
not just singing worship songs or bowing down before God because of our
expectation of what to get from Him.

Worship is
multifaceted; it is more than singing songs of praise and dancing or giving to
God. Singing or other means of worship are just the acts of worship, but our
heart connection with God is the most important and honouring to God i.e.
having a heart that sings worships not just a mouth that sings worship songs.

Looking at
Abraham, our father of faith, in that time and age there was no church where
praise and worship could be conducted yet he knew that worship in the sight of
God meant life.

The secret
of worship, as required by God is obedience and faith. In our case we may
consider an Isaac to be our quality time, that which cost you something, our
possessions or even our careers or ministries.

Abraham did
not kill his only begotten son eventually, for God provided a ram of worship.
God blessed Abraham for bringing a life offering to Him. He ultimately yielded
his life to God. God cut a covenant with him there and blessed him.

Make me a worshipper, and one after
Your Own heart, O Lord!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from
all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The Effectual Fervent Prayer Of A Righteous Availeth Much

THE
EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH

You can
change hopeless situations (James 5:16)

Apostle
James lets us know in the scripture above the kind of prayer that changes
things: it is the “effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man.” The Amplified
version renders it beautifully: “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a
righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Someone may say “O, I now know why my prayers have not been producing results;
it’s because I’m not righteous!” well, the question is, are you born again? If
you’re born again then you’re righteous, which means you can change hopeless
situation through prayer.

When God
told King Hezekiah he was going to die (2 Kings 20:1), the Bible says “He
turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord” (2 kings 20:2). He
prayed earnestly and the Lord said: “I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy
tears: behold, I will heal thee….And I will add unto thy days fifteen years (2
Kings 20: 5-6). Miracles happen when we pray the right kind of prayers.

The prayer
that works, the kind of prayer that changes hopeless situations is that which
is earnest, heartfelt and continued. This kind of prayer touches your emotions
and your soul. It’s serious business because you desire to see a definite
change. It’s direct in purpose; you’re praying fervently with a deep feeling of
conviction. You tell yourself, “I’m not going to give up until I’ve seen the
change I desire.”

This was the
kind of prayer Elijah prayed. The Bible says he prayed earnestly that it should
not rain and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six
months. Then he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth brought
forth her fruit (James 5:17-18). According to the Bible, Elijah was a man
subject to like passion as we are. In other words, you too can pray earnestly
and turn hopeless situations around.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father! I’m grateful to
know that Your eyes are always upon me and Your ears are attentive to my prayers.
Therefore I’m bold and confident that I can change hopeless situations through
prayer. I rejoice because every time I bow my knees to pray concerning any
situation, I receive answers to my prayers, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Amen!
