The wonder of an anointing depends on the source. There are different types of anointing; anointing can either be holy or unholy. The unholy anointing can come from all sorts of spirits for example when you are angry, you get worked up and exhibit and certain kind of anointing from your vexed spirit.
The anointing of God flows from the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is symbolically represented by either water, fire, wind, wine or the dove. When anointing begins to manifest, it can take the form of any of these symbols mentioned.
Anointing can manifest as fire and it can destroy yokes (Isaiah 10: 27).
Anointing can manifest as water and we know that the main thing water does is to satisfy thirst (John 7:37-39). The Holy Spirit can satisfy any form of thirst in your life.
Anointing can manifest as a mighty rushing wind (Acts 2:1-4). When anointing manifest as a mighty rushing wind, it is to open new doors and to make a way where there seems to be no way.
Anointing can also manifest as a cool refreshing breeze bringing life with it. In Genesis 2:7, after God made man, he breathed into him and that represents the spirit of God in man. The anointing can turn an ordinary mud/clay into a living soul.
Anointing can manifest as oil and when the anointing manifests itself as oil, it is to lubricate your progress. When the anointing comes upon you, it will take you to the next level. In 1sam 15:11-13, David was anointed with oil and as a result, an ordinary shepherd boy became a king
Anointing can manifest as wine. The Holy Spirit is the heavenly wine Acts 2:12-13 when people saw those who had just been baptised in the Holy Spirit they said they were drunk. Anointing brings joy, excitement and plenty things other people try to get from wine. That is why one of the names of strong wine is ‘spirits’
One of the wonders of anointing is that it can make a man do supernatural things. In 1Sam 17:34-37, David destroyed a lion who tried to attack him and that is a wonder. At this time David was less than 20 years old, for a young man to punch a lion to death, he must have been filled with an anointing.
Anointing enables you to fulfil God’s purpose for your life. According to John 15:16, one main purpose of the anointing is to win souls. In Acts 1:8, the bible says”But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” After you receive the anointing comes upon you, you receive the power to be an effective soul winner and also fulfil other purpose in life.
Another wonderful thing about the anointing is that it does not discriminate. Whether male or female, poor or rich, young or old, the anointing of God can come upon you. Joel 2:28-30 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.”
HOW DO WE GET THE ANOINTING?
Anointing can manifest as wine, we get that through the Holy Communion.
Anointing can manifest as oil, we get that through the anointing oil.
Psalm 23:5 says ”Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over”. The Holy Communion is also called the Lord’s Table, when you drink the wine from the Lord’s table during holy communion, you are taking in the anointing. When your head is anointed with anointing oil, you have joy within combined with the fire of anointing outward and your cup will begin to run over.
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you can’t keep your mouth shut, you will begin to speak in tongues, your joy will begin to overflow and it will be difficult to control.
Hebrews 1:9 says “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” When you love righteous and hate sin, you will be filled with anointing.
MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO LIVE A LIFE OF HOLINESS! AS LONG AS YOU LOVE HOLINESS AND HATE SIN, THE ANOINTING OF GOD WILL OVERFLOW IN YOUR LIFE.
May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
