Is Crisis In Syria A Fulfilment Of End Times Prophecy? By CBNNews.com.
The crisis in Syria has some people looking at end-times biblical prophecies.
Some Christians point to the Old Testament prophet Isaiah, who wrote about the fall of Damascus.
Florida Today reports that some Christian bookstores are seeing an increase in sales of books related to prophecy and the end times.
But others say they don’t see any connection between what’s happening in Syria and predictions about the end of the world.
“In this case, Isaiah was predicting the demise of Damascus at the hands of Assyria in the eighth century,” Dr. Robert Mulholland, a retired professor of New Testament of Asbury Theological Seminary, told the Christian Post.
“If one wanted to try to make the case for Isaiah 17 predicting the end times, then Iran (the present day successor to Assyria) would be responsible for Damascus’ demise and not its primary ally,” he said.
May God bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May God make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
May the grace the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen!

First, let me say this out in the open: I do not know what is going to happen or how or when. However, my personal opinion is that we are in the final scene of God’s timeline.
That said, there is more to the Damascus connection than just Isaiah 17. It sounds to me as though you are probably aware of this :-) Jeremiah also mentions the destruction of Damascus. But the thing that interests me is Ezekiel 39, in which the ‘clean up’ after the battle of God and Megog sounds strikingly like what we would expect the clean up of a nuclear battle field would be like. I also find it interesting that Zechariah 14 describes a plague that sounds an awful lot like a nuclear blast.
Again, who knows what is going to happen and when. But one thing is sure: Christians have sufficient reason to get about doing the Lord’s work — now, more than ever.
Peace, brother :-)
