The Miracle Of Salvation. The Greatest Miracle

Some people seem to think the age of miracles for the church has ended. To that we would say, come to church and see the miracle of changed lives and changed destinies!  Each heart that is converted by the power of Christ is a living miracle, perhaps not as outwardly dramatic as Lazarus at the tomb, but a miracle nevertheless. In fact, the case could be made that a born again soul is a larger miracle than a healing or even raising someone from the dead. Because even after his resurrection, Lazarus eventually would have died again, while Jesus promised:

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11:25

The marvellous fact about this miracle is that it is available to whosoever will call upon Jesus for salvation. Literally, the miracle of salvation is only a prayer away!  Conversion to Christ is openly available in this age of grace and it is universally needed.

Billy Graham wrote, “Nicodemus must have been stunned when Jesus told him he must be born again. It wouldn’t seem shocking if Christ had said that to Zacchaeus the tax collector or to the thief on the cross or to the woman caught in adultery. But Nicodemus was one of the great religious leaders of his time. Still, he was searching for reality.”

When you are around other Christians, remember, they are walking miracles, testimonies to the promises of scripture. And the next time you see a gospel invitation during a church service, it may seem ordinary and predictable, but in fact you are witnessing a breath-taking miracle of eternal proportions.  Do not take it for granted, and whatever you do, don’t check out. Pray, believe and rejoice with the angels when even one sinner responds.

You have just witnessed a miracle.
