How Big Is Our God? The God of Wonders

How Big Is Our God? The God of Wonders

“Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of His great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.”
(Isaiah 40:26)
Just how large is your God? Most people believe He is powerful. But if so, exactly what difference does that make in your life?

Astronaut Rick Husband believed in an awesome God, a “God of Wonders.” That was the name of his favourite song, as sung by his good friend, recording artist Steve Green. One morning, as the Space Shuttle Columbia began a new day, the crew awoke to that tune, piped in from Mission Control at the request of Rick’s wife. He told the technicians in Houston, “Good morning. Thank you. We can really appreciate the lyrics of that song up here. We look out the window and see that God truly is a God of wonders.”

As he peddled an exercise bike and peered out the great window of the craft, Rick said, the sight of those wonders brought tears to his eyes.

Rick loved his family, too. He had recorded thirty-four video devotionals for his children. His son and daughter each had seventeen personalized visits with their father—one for each day he would be away from them. However, on February 1, 2003 Columbia exploded as it re-entered our atmosphere. President George W. Bush addressed the nation in its mourning. Quoting Isaiah 40:26, he went on to say, “Farther than we can see there is comfort and hope.” Through their tears, Rick’s friends and family understood that a truly powerful God had a wonderful destination for all those who trusted Him—and no spacecraft was required.

Believing in an all-powerful God makes it possible for us to live a powerful life. We can face difficult days, disappointing developments, and even tragedy when we know our God is in control.

Jeremiah 51:15; Psalm 59:16; 1 Corinthians 6:14

Because God is all-powerful,
I will trust Him with any new challenge that I may face.

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!
