John_3-17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved

1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master. And since I, the master of the household, have been called the prince of demons, the members of my household will be called by even worse names!

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
INTRODUCTION:
Every apprentice desires to be like his boss, who in his work displays his level of professionalism and expertise. Hence, from day to day, he watches his master and does exactly what he does. Let us believe the Holy Spirit to take us through the lifestyle of the Master so that we can amend our lives where necessary.
THE NATURE OF THE MASTER
2-Chronicles_7-14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
Humility.
Philippians 2:5-7: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”
Matthew_11-29: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Obedience.

REASONS FOR NOT IMITATING THE MASTER
Following Him From Afar Off.
Mark 7:8 “For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.”
1-John_5-12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life
Inability To Deny One’s Self. –
Mark. 8:34 “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. ”
Galatians_2-20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me

Love Of The World.
1John2:15-17 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. Colossians_3-16-3: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. God Answers Prayers
CONCLUSION: A son that resembles neither the parents nor the grandparents is usually termed a bastard, and risks not enjoying any parental benevolence. Whom do you resemble? The Master is waiting for you, go and meet Him in your closet.
PRAYER POINTS:
(1) Father, give me the grace to be focused in my walk with you.
(2) Father, help me to finish strong and well.
(3) Father, remove every stumbling block on my way.
(4) Pray for personal rapid growth spiritually and materially.
(5) Pray for rapid growth of the church spiritually, materially and numerically.
