In Luke 10, Jesus told His disciples the story of the Good Samaritan to answer the question: who is my neighbour? According to the story, a man on his way to Jericho fell among thieves and was robbed, stripped, wounded, and left for dead. The Good Samaritan was the one who was sensitive enough to help the man and meet his needs. Beloved, not everything is about money. You can meet a need in several ways. There are many people who have stacks of beautiful clothes, shoes, and accessories in their wardrobes that no one is using. I am not talking about things that don’t have any value. No, I am talking about those things that are of high value. One way to share the goodness of God in your life is to be a source of blessing to someone else.

Have you ever thought of packaging some high-quality things and sending them to the needy through various initiatives to assist the less privileged? For example, in TREM (The Redeemed Evangelical Mission), we have the “We Care Ministry”. I am sure that every local assembly has something similar. God’s intention is for you to be a very profitable channel in order to bless humanity. The more you release, the more He pours out unto you. Therefore, always see yourself as a channel of blessing. Don’t ever say you don’t have enough because every person has something to give. Go out of your way and give of your substance whenever the call for support is made. Always remember that whenever you give towards putting food on someone else’s table, or clothing on someone else’s back, you are actually lending to the Lord. Let me assure you that you will never give to make life better for others and go away empty handed. God is obligated to replenish your storehouse when you give to the poor.

There is someone out there who is praying that God will meet a need in his life. And guess what? You may just be the answer to that prayer. I encourage you to go out of your way to find areas where you can be of assistance to others.

Don’t let this month end without you consciously being a blessing-not to someone who can repay, but to those who may never even say thank you. Show kindness by being a channel of blessing to others around you.

My Life Is Hid With Christ In God

Colossians 3:3 (KJV)

This powerful scripture should encourage you today. We are living in a world that is filled with satanic activities, especially in modern times. It is easy to throw up your hands in complete surrender and helplessness given the terrible things happening all around. But beloved, I come to encourage you. No matter what is happening around you, remember that your case is totally different. Heaven has you completely covered. Let me remind you that when you invited Christ into your heart, you became heaven’s project.

Our text today says your life is hid with Christ in God. What is the implication of this scripture? It means that for the devil and his cohorts to succeed in their plots against you, they have to first attack God Almighty and destroy Him, then attack Jesus Christ and destroy Him, before they can pull you out to destroy you; and you know as well as I do that this task is absolutely impossible. God created Satan as Lucifer before iniquity was found in him, and as you already know, a creature cannot be greater than its creator.

However, the devil has a trick that he has successfully used over the years and that is to get you to doubt the word of God. He knows that ignorance of, or unbelief in, the finished work of Calvary will keep you from exercising dominion over him. The devil thrives on your ignorance. That is why he will always use the age-old trick he used on Eve and Jesus by asking, “Hath God said . . . ?” He knows that if he can plant the seed of doubt and continually water it, pretty soon, he will have you where he wants you-in total doubt and unbelief. Then you will be susceptible to whatever he throws at you.

Today I challenge you to refuse to live in ignorance; take hold of the word of God, believe in the word of God, and walk in total victory. Accept and celebrate God’s record for you and put the devil and his cohorts on the run today.

I Am God’s Impeccable Image

Christianity starts from heaven and stretches to the earth. You must first see yourself as heaven sees you. You must believe this view and receive it. Then you will be empowered to do heaven’s work on earth (Philippians 2:12-13). It is a working from the inside out (Colossians 3:1-4). First you sit in heaven and then you stand in the power of that revelation and walk in dominion. You are not trying to do something to be accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6, John 1:12). When you first receive Him, you receive the power to become the son of God (Genesis 1:26-28).

You must first receive His image in order to function in His likeness. If you had to do something to be accepted you would spend a lifetime trying to accomplish one task. And still you would not be accepted; 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares that if anyone be in Christ (not “please the Lord” or “keep the commandments”), he is a new creation. In addition, 2 Corinthians 5:21 says that He became sin for us. Do you think He did that so you might do something? Keep the laws? No, it was so that you might become the righteousness of God in Christ. He became what we were so that we might become who He is.

In Christianity you begin at the finishing point. You must see your finishing line and accept it as the truth. Then you will be empowered to move towards it. You must become before you are empowered to do. When you see yourself as a finished product you will see all that God has already completed, and as a result, you will see all that you are supernaturally empowered to do (2 Corinthians 3:18, Romans 8:16, John 16:13, Genesis 1:26). You are made in God’s image and likeness. Genesis 1:28 confirms that you are blessed, so you can produce.

We have slowed down God’s movement by making the starting point the end. Start your walk with God from the end product. Take ownership of the finished work He has made available to you. He finished it. There is nothing for you to add; all you need to do is simply accept it and walk in it. Then you will reign with Him.

The devil cannot walk up to you and run riot in your life. He cannot attack your health, finance, marriage, business, ministry, or anything else that has to do with you. If that was possible then he would not be walking about “[. . .] seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8, KJV). If he had the freedom to, he would simply walk up to anyone he chose and devour him.

Yes, the devil does walk about like a roaring lion in order to create fear in people with his roar. But those who know that the real Lion of the tribe of Judah is Jesus Christ Himself (Revelation 5:5) are never intimidated. They understand that the devil has been stripped of the power of death (Hebrews 2:14). They also realise that the greater One is in them and that they have overcome the wicked one (1 John 4:4).

It is as if you are watching a film of a lion roaring from the comfort of your room; of course you would not run in such a situation. You know that the lion is not real. You would stay seated and keep laughing, enjoying the movie. This is the same attitude God wants you to have when the devil comes. Simply ignore him because you know that he is not a lion. He is only like a lion. It is the lion that bites; the image of a lion cannot even devour an ant. There is only one Lion, and that is Jesus Christ. The devil is just a counterfeit, trying in vain to imitate a lion to create fear in you. Stand firm in the light of the world knowing that you are a world overcomer.

This does not mean that the devil will not show up. But whenever he shows up, you are well equipped to use your authority and claim the blood that has redeemed (Ephesians 1:7) your life, your family, your job, your children, and your finances. Cover everything that has to do with you with the blood and the devil will take his baggage and flee. Your victory is guaranteed.

God Is Not Mad At Me

Sin is a powerful weapon that the devil uses to condemn you and make you feel guilty. Perhaps you have experienced this before: you are standing in the place of prayer making a demand for a particular thing when you suddenly remember something that you did some time back and the zeal to pray just disappears; it feels like you have been deflated and your prayer changes to one of repentance. Has this ever happened to you? That is the power of sin that the devil is using against you because you were once ignorant. Today I have come to re-emphasise that your sins and iniquities are totally forgotten. Don’t let the devil hold you in any form of guilt. I have echoed it time and time again in this devotional but it bears repetition: God has forgiven your past, present, and future sin. When Jesus died, He paid the full price, and as a result you have the liberty to ask anything and achieve anything.

If God remembers your sins no more, has He lowered His standards? No, God is holy and just. At the cross 2000 years ago He remembered all of our sins-past, present, and future. He fully punished every sin on the body of Jesus Christ on the cross. He poured out His full wrath on Him for all of our sins. That is why He does not remember them anymore.

Notice the words “no more” in our text. He will by no means ever remember our sins; away with the consciousness of sin in your life. When you fall into sin, look to the cross where sin was punished and thank God for the blood that is still efficacious for you. The once-and-for-all sacrifice of Jesus is enough for all of our sins. He has perfected us. Rejoice because God is not mad at you. He says He will be merciful, and your sins and your lawless deeds He will remember no more.

I Am A Royalty In Christ Jesus. No More Selling Myself To The Enemy

It is easy to devalue yourself when you think of the challenges in your life. Sometimes the devil even makes us believe that devaluing yourself is a sign of humility. Liar! Liar! Child of God, don’t fall for any trick of the devil. Why would you devalue yourself when God has placed the highest value on you?

The devil rejoices when you discount yourself from God’s goodness and have low self-esteem. He knows that when you are in this state he can hoodwink you and get away with bloody murder because you are so intimidated that you cannot raise your head up against him. Meanwhile, Jesus paid the full price and in fact took over the battle completely so you do not have any margin for failure.

When you devalue yourself it is an insult to the finished work of redemption. God has already put a high premium on you by sending His only begotten Son to die for you. He did not send an angel to redeem you; He did not send another man. He looked at the banisters of heaven and realised that only the supreme sacrifice could save man. And then He went ahead and gave it. Did you know that even if you were the only sinner, Jesus would still have died? How dare you then look at yourself as a worm, an ordinary person?

Notice that in our text today when the man found the treasure, he hid it in the field. Then he went with joy to sell all he had in order to buy the field. You are the treasure that God saw, and He gave up all He had to ensure that He paid for you. Stop putting yourself down and begin to see yourself in the same light that God sees you in. Do not look at what your present state is. When you agree with God, your present state will line up with Him. Celebrate yourself. Declare who you are no matter what. See yourself from the eyes of Jesus and carry yourself with the air of royalty because you are royalty.

God’s DNA

Beloved, righteousness is not earned, deserved, or merited. It is a gift that God gave to you the day you gave your heart to Jesus Christ. With the heart man believeth unto righteousness. It is a gift from God (Romans 5:17). We were made righteous when we were born again (2 Corinthians 5:21).

What is righteousness? It is God’s DNA. It is right standing with God. It is standing before God as if sin does not exist. It is standing before God without any sense of inferiority condemnation, guilt, or accusation.

When you know you are righteous you are not afraid to approach God with any request, and you will expect your requests to be answered. You have already been discharged and acquitted. Your case is closed and no appeal from Satan will be allowed against you. That is why our text challenges you to be established in righteousness. To be established means to be founded; it means to build or bring something into being on a firm and stable basis, to install or settle something, or to bring about something permanently. It is not about what you have to do to be righteous. You are already righteous.

Notice your benefits when you are established in righteousness.
1. You will be far from oppression.
2. You will fear nothing.
3. You will be far from terror.
4. Those who gather against you shall fall.
5. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

If The Foundations Be Destroyed, What Can The Righteous Do

“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
Psalm 11:3 (KJV)

The foundation is the structure that holds the rest of a building. Without the foundation, the walls, the doors, the windows, and the roof could never be put in place. The foundation is important even though it is often never seen; its strength influences a building’s ability to withstand the test of time.

You will be surprised by the number of believers who are trying to get things done without a foundation or without the right kind of foundation. Notice that in our text the Psalmist is saying that the righteous (the born again child of God, the body of Christ) cannot do much if the foundation is destroyed. To destroy suggests that the foundation was originally there but somewhere along the line it was lost. As believers what is our foundation? Upon what should we build anything we are involved in? My mind goes to John 1:1-3, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (KJV).

Therefore, the foundation of our faith is the word of God. Today, many are looking for shortcuts. They are looking for quick fixes. They want magic and not miracles. “what is the difference?” you may ask. Miracles are based on the word of God while magic is not. Miracles stand the test of time but magic does not. When it comes to magic, the more you look, the less you see; but when something is a miracle, it stands true and withstands the onslaught of the devil.

You must therefore re-examine your life and be honest with yourself. Are you involved in magic or miracles? Beloved, you must ensure that whatever you are involved in passes through the filter of God’s word. Then and only then will you be guaranteed that come what may, when the storm is over, you will still be standing.

    O Lord, inspite of negative events and situations around me and my family, let our own portion be promotion, expansion, increase and continuous breakthroughs in Jesus name.
