Every religion outside of Christianity essentially offers the same thing: a way to salvation through our own human effort. The parable of the prodigal son explodes that damnable lie. It illustrates

Trust God

Laurna7's avatarlaurnaguistepublicist

These days are uncertain,unclear,

What’s next, Seems we wont see what’s coming, even with specs,

Our days go fast and so does our energy,

But Lord yet will I trust thee,

In the added stress, brutality and pain,

Racial injustice and people going insane,

We need you,

When all we got is questions more than answers,

In our fear we boldly cry Jesus,

For we wont forget you or the message of the cross.

We run to our refuge and tower,

For when the earth shakes,in you we are safe, and taken higher,

Cause we trust you.

MEN OF GOLD

boazolaosebikan's avatarboazolaosebikan

*MEN OF GOLD DON’T WEAR GOLD*
Yesterday I had to visit somewhere and it was raining so I did not want to drive there since I was not too familiar with the road, so I parked my car somewhere close and used a keke (local tricycle).

While I was there I got a call from a long time friend reminding me of my promise to her husband over a job, so I quickly told her my location, and asked her to tell her husband to meet me up ASAP since I will be leaving town soon, but I told her to tell her husband to meet me up where I packed my car since that place was a popular land mark .

I don’t know her husband and we have never met before. As I sent her the address, she called me back and was so excited that I was…

The painful story of Chicky

Henry Ibeleme's avatarHowInspiratick

As it is the culture of most Nigerian homes to dine with chicken during xmas period, well, ours weren’t different. My dad got two but the other was just a little lad of a chicken as we nurse hope of killing it on Easter. We killed the other and believe me, the taste was divine cause i cooked it myself. I could still perceive the tempting aroma as i write and with every gulp, i savour it.

HAVE FAITH, by VERNON BROWN

Unknown's avatarInmate Blogger

THERE COMES A TIME IN LIFE,
WHEN THINGS DON’T GO OUR WAY.
AND IT SEEMS NO MATTER WHAT WE DO,
UNHAPPINESS WANTS TO STAY.
THE CLOUDS CONCEAL THE SUN,
THE RAIN FALLS FROM THE SKY.
SURRONDED BY THE COLDNESS,
ASKING OURSELVES WHY.
JUST WHEN WE FEEL THAT HOPE IS GONE,
WITH NOTHING ELSE TO DO.
THE SUN BLASTS THROUGH THOSE CLOUDS,
AND A RAY OF LIGHT SHINES THROUGH.

THE SAME IS TRUE WITH FAITH,
IF YOU STAND FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE.
WITH GOD, ALL IS POSSIBLE…
AND THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN’T ACHIEVE.

Governor Karl F. Rolvaag

PrayThroughHistory's avatarpraythroughhistory

Karl F. Rolvaag: Governors of Minnesota. collections.mnhs.org

March 25, 1963-January 21, 1967
After the one hundred thirty-nine day recount, Lieutenant Governor Rolvaag becomes the thirty-first Governor of Minnesota by just 91 votes. Governing on principle more than charisma, this disciplined leader effectively changed: the junior college system, reapportioned legislative districts, and improved mental institutions. He had the distinction of being the first to serve a four year gubernatorial term. *

Few politicians of this era had more authentic bragging rights as to their Minnesota roots than Karl. Let’s recount a few that would deeply resonate with any Midwesterner of this age:
Karl was born in Northfield, MN. in 1913, and attended St. Olaf.
His father was the iconic Norwegian novelist of “Giants in the Earth”; Ole Rolvaag.
He dropped out of university the year his father passed, 1931, to “head out west”.
He spent six years as a railway “hobo”…

God Knows!

elizamakaira's avatarEliza Makaira

God is so, so good! He has always spoken to me through music, and the words in music, and this morning, after praying and asking for prayers God would reveal His work and leading in my life, He sent me the song “Reason” by Unspoken. The words, but even more so, the images in this video were confirmation He sees me, my desire to fly, and my failed attempts. He is my loving Father, picking me up when I fail, and loving me through it all. He protects me when I am on the verge of going too far outside of His will for my life. When I am ready to give up, he takes my defeat and my hope out of the trash bin and helps me to fly again. Not only this, but He joins me in flight, and others are inspired to fly by my example and…

. . . You of little faith . . .

you of little faithMatthew 14:22–31 (NIV)

Jesus Walks on the Water

14:22–33pp—Mk 6:45–51; Jn 6:16–21
14:34–36pp—Mk 6:53–56

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,”…

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

It was Saturday afternoon when my kids and husband were taking afternoon nap and I was sipping a cup of hot coffee at the window glancing at the snowflakes outside. Such moments are rare when I get time for myself as generally during these hours I cook dinner or finish my office pile ups. Luckily, we had dinner planned at friends place so it was a no cooking day for me and I was at leisure.

It was not the usual day for me, I was quite depressed since morning as I got angry on the tiny human beings whom I made. I tried to be patient but somehow nothing worked and I lost it totally. Honestly, I was agitated with another reason that was pinching me inside and I exploded my anger on the mini me’s. Unfair, I know! But whatever happened could not be undone but that made…

SMALL THINGS MATTER

Maeskyperocho's avatarJust Give me JESUS

In view of this global health challenge that people around the world are experiencing, I stumble upon a pondered question which titled this subject blog today.

With our day to day tasks that seems unending and in cycle, I wonder if people see their small things in life as important.

I remember the story in the Bible of the little boy who had five loaves and two fishes that was when offered to Jesus were used to miraculously fed 5,000 men (aside from women and children that time). That little lunch in the hands of Jesus turned out to be a huge blessing to all.

For some with little patience in themselves, small things seems something that must be done immediately now. So they became anxious when something in their lives appears to be not bearing fruit they want to see in them.

But time after time, in the Bible…

How to be an inspiration? Do you have to be very successful to be considered as an inspiration? Do you need to be professional to be an inspiration? Do you need to be famous to be an inspiration?

Anybody can be an inspiration.

Sometimes, people tend to be more specific with the things that they want and things that they need only because they see it from others that they consider as inspirations. But if you come to take a look at the deeper side of each person’s perspective in life, you can actually consider them as an inspiration, not because of how they look but how they manage their good deeds…
