Walk in Courage!

theparalleledit's avatarThe Parallel Edit

So, another week. Another day. And I’m back here for you guys with another write up on another important discussion. So, you guys must be thinking what next I’m going to write for you people. Is it? Just like you people, even I get excited when it comes to writing the content every week.

WALK IN COURAGE. What actually does that mean?

textgram_1510934490

Why do we get discouraged? Why do we feel alone and lost when everything is going fine? Have you ever experienced that anxiety running down your nerves, when you’re lagging behind on anything? Do you feel something relatable? Do you? It’s just that we see the problems and our challenges bigger and stronger than us, ultimately what discourages us and we feel like quitting.

Every time you compare the problem with yourself, nothing, but only heart will bear the burden of disappointments, start comparing your problems with your god…

I’M BLOGGING. AGAIN!

Swarnika Saxena's avatarNikaTalks

Hello ya’ll, Ssup? Idk where to start from. It’s been a long while since I last blogged about anything that came to my head and needed to be written down.

While I have had a tough end of 2019 and also a tough start of 2020, It has taught me a lot of things that will help me both personally and professionally.

When I look back at my college days, there is always one thing that I look at and that is my COMFORT ZONE ( or lack of it ). It’s fair to say over the past few months, I have gone way outside my comfort zone like never before and in many aspects, It has helped me become the person and professional I am today.

I have been receiving a lot of texts on a daily basis like, What is your work?; What do you do?; How is…

Be Not Conformed…

Soul On Rice's avatarSoul On Rice

Most people are conditioned to strive toward social acceptance. The American convict (or ex-convict), though ostracized, is no exception. That’s the power of mental conditioning; The ex-convict seeks the approval and acceptance of the exact people who sent him into exile, the same people who disapproved of his actions to such a degree that they thought it appropriate and justifiable to banish him from his hometown and lock him in a cell. Still, he’s released and, because of the punishment he’s suffered for his decision to run afoul of the law, now desires to walk in ways that society deems acceptable. You see, committing a crime –to them- means you hadn’t been conditioned enough to fall in line with society’s agreed-upon rules, so you’re locked in a cage to “think about what you did,” and maybe, just maybe, the torture, the hardship, the embarrassment, will give you that extra push…

A Letter to my 20 Year Old Self

George omondi, Kenya's avatargeorgeomondi1963

Exif_JPEG_420You should know that life won’t turn out exactly like you thought it would. The man you thought you couldn’t live without and would spend the rest of your life with, will shatter your heart, but you’ll live. In fact, he did you a favor by breaking up with you…even though it won’t feel like it at the moment. You’ll wonder how you’ll even sleep without him by your side, but you do. Food won’t even taste the same and you won’t feel like eating it, but you do. This will be one of many defining moments in your life because who you were going into this relationship and who you are coming out of it are almost two different people! You’ll find yourself open to different experiences which will expand your perspectives. The earth will rotate, the sun will rise and set, and you will heal.

Empathy is Everything (August 30, 2017)

ChristforAllLivesMinistries's avatarChristforAllLivesMinistry (C.A.L.M.)

What is the true essence of therapy? What is a key aspect in loving? What is understanding? The answer to these questions is an ability within self that requires learning and growing, this ability is empathy.

Empathy has always been a very intriguing aspect to myself, analyzing empathy when you break down the definition of empathy, and the traits that create empathy the feelings are wholesome.

Love is a trait that is vital in reaching empathy at its fullest potential. Without love one can not feel how another person is experiencing their emotions, thus limiting empathy’s potential, limiting highest potential for effective treatment.

In Psychology we are taught empathy is everything. One of a therapists’ key traits that are needed in treatment is empathy, if a client does not believe the therapist understands him or her, the client can feel as if the therapist does not believe in him or…

Health Is Wealth & Mood

Troyce's avatarTROYCE

So recently my whole life has changed due to “me” wanting to be more positive and less anxious (impossible but trying my best!). Since a young age I have had an issue with my nerves, meaning I would get upset pretty easily. So now I have turned my life around its been about 20 plus days that I started treating my body a little more better! I started to eat more organic and less GMO’S which now at days its almost IMPOSSIBLE to find “real” food to eat….! I am pretty sure the fruit and veggies I eat are also not “natural” but what can we do, not everybody has the space to grow their own food(s) but if THEY DO THEN THEY SHOULD! I also started getting into vegeterianism and started to incorporate the following in my diet: Cacao Raw Powder, Maca Raw Powder, Hemp Powder, Camu Camu Powder…

Oh daughters of Eve! have you forgotten who you are?

What you’re here for and why you have come so far?

Take a second to reflect on how deep your purpose goes,

You were admired back then as Goddesses.

The Creators of life,

Connected to magical Moon by your cycles.

Protectors of the kingdom,

Voice of your people.

Kings protected & avenged,

Queens were their conscience & council,

Awaken your royal,

Your revival is essential.

You were sent to give him life,

Save his life, enhance his life.

Advise his ego to see the heart,

Feminine life with purpose,

The revolutionary ones,

Having an impact on nations.

You are destined to be revered for your kind heart,

Gifts of life, intuition & foresight,

Yet you twerk for applause?

Don’t remember chronicles of your mighty cause?

Due to the beautiful essence,

I miss you and I wish I was home.
It hurts me to think I am not with you.
It’s not the same without you here
I remember when we were little and we played in the yard.
Then we’d go sit inside and play games
You’d look at me and smile.
Your smile used to stretch a mile
When I had a bad day you were the only one who could make me laugh.
It’s like you were my other half
It hurts me to see that I am not with you
It hurts even more because there’s nothing I can do.
I just wish I could make all my way to you,
But all I can do is pray.
I pray for you every night before I go to sleep
And every time I think I hear you creep
I look at the door and wait for you…

Safety over everything

Cooperate Headquarters's avatarCOOPERATE HEADQUARTERS

The planet earth is doggedly designed to withstand forces of different kind, but they’re limit to everything. Man had been unkind to our mother earth; pushing her to react in protest to negative effects resulting from activities melted against her. The reaction that originated from our actions and inactions had caused us uncountable losses of lives and valuables.  All efforts to restrict natures anger is been resisted in vengeance by different forces like tsunami, hurricane, earthquakes, wild fire and many more.

We might be late but starting to retrace our steps is the best we can do to safe the remains of this earth. We have but this world and protecting it wouldn’t be an option but the only option. What is left of us? And What is it we can do to safeguard our world? Safety is a lifeline towards protecting our world.

To Know Him and To Be Like Him: A Reminder of Why We Read the Bible

Abigail Joy Moma's avatarWhatever Happens,Rejoice.

Probably too often, I have the desire to be a hermit. To go off-grid and live somewhere alone in the middle of the woods. I love people. I love my life. But sometimes I just get tired. I just want some peace and quiet. I just need to disconnect from it all. I need a slower pace of life. But I find some comfort in knowing I’m not the only one who feels this way. This is not something new to mankind.

A man after God’s own heart once felt this way too: King David. He wrote candidly,

“Myheartisinanguishwithinme; theterrorsofdeathhavefallenuponme. Fearandtremblingcomeuponme,andhorroroverwhelmsme. AndIsay,“Oh,thatIhadwingslikeadove! Iwouldflyawayandbeatrest; yes,Iwouldwanderfaraway;Iwouldlodgeinthewilderness;Iwouldhurrytofindashelter fromtheragingwindandtempest”(Ps.55:4-8).

Me too, David. Me too. This is partly why I love the book of Psalms. They are so honest, so relatable. They remind me that I don’t need to always have it together before I talk to God in prayer. They remind me that it’s…

LUST OF THE WORLD

thespirit2017's avatarLIVE IN SPIRIT

There were three lust that John wrote about in the new testament. The lust of the flesh, eyes and pride of the eyes.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of the life, is not of the father, but is of the world. (1 John 2:16)

LUST OF THE FLESH

Jesus had been tempted by the lust of the flesh. In The Gospel of luke, he tells the story of Jesus in the wilderness for forty days tempted by Satan.

(Jesus) Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. (Luke 4:2-3)

Jesus was tempted by Satan to turn stones into bread and…

Self Discipline Like A Roman Emperor,

G. Alivizatos's avatarThe Reset Blog

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive, to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

Marcus Aurelius

Why is it so hard to do the things that are in line with our goals but not with our desires at that moment? How can we harness the power of our minds to create a steady fountain of self-discipline each day? Thomas Frank may help us understand how Marcus Aurelius envisioned human motivation in his classic work, Meditations.

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor who practiced the age-old tradition of Stoicism. His work, Meditations can be held as one of the foremost works in Stoic philosophy. Aurelius was also known as a Philosopher King, a lover of wisdom, who questioned and challenged the preconceived notions of those in his circle.

Thomas Frank is likely to be called…

The Thing About Love

Here’s the thing this post has been in my phone for weeks now and truth be told I was not going to post it because it’s some of my innermost reflection on relationships. But I want to be more authentic because that’s what my blog is all about. Many times, I do keep many posts just as general entries that stay in my general. However, I believe in order for growth as a person we must do something that scares us everyday. For me it is posting this post. For you I’m not sure what it may be, but we must push ourselves out of our comfort zones and grow into who God called us to be. “What you are waiting for is outside of your comfort zone”.

If you asked me at the beginning of the year how my year would end up this is what I would have…

He Carried My Shame in His Crown of Thorns. (2012)

frances jones's avatarInspire Hope, Beauty for ashes.

The consequence of sin is death. Sin, condemnation, guilt and shame are all weapons used by satan and his demons to steal kill and destroy us. Sin is always followed by the guilt, condemnation, and shame (among other things) those three things tie us to our sin, and sin ties us to those three things. It’s an endless cycle that leads to death. Our good intentions and even our good deeds do not free anyone from the guilt of sin. Everyone sins. Everyone is guilty. So what then? Do we live and die in the devils cycle? The only way out of this death trap is Jesus Christ, He is our Lord and savior. There are natural consequences to sin. Its hard because acceptiong the natural consequences can come with a certain level of guilt and shame. You can accept the responsibilities of your actions without accepting the guilt and…

QUALITY OF LIFE

LeoAbreu's avatarRL WEB

Health is not just a word that characterizes the absence of disease, since this concept involves broader aspects, such as physical, mental and social well-being. In view of these aspects, it is clear that health promotion depends on individual behaviors and also on aspects of a collective dimension, the latter being an issue closely related to public policies.

In this context, providing people with decent living conditions is a determining factor in preventing ill health – which does not mean that we should expect only external interventions so that, in fact, we achieve good health.

The term “good shape” can be related to several meanings, such as a harmonic, muscular or thin body; good acceptance of the body, even in situations in which physical form contradicts the aesthetic standards imposed by society; the relentless search for a “perfect body”, at any cost; be active; absence…
