Faithfulness

Read | Daniel 6:1-28

Daniel had faithfully been living out his commitment to the Lord from the time he was a teenager. His witness of integrity and godliness was earned over a lifetime, during which he’d been challenged frequently to compromise his faith.

Today’s passage shows him facing a desperately dangerous situation: the lions’ den. Although we usually focus on Daniel and the animals, a surprising aspect of this story is the reaction of the king.

Though he’d foolishly signed the law that created Daniel’s treacherous predicament, Darius was so impressed with the young man that he tried to rescue him. When the ruler’s efforts failed, he made a surprising statement of trust in the Lord: “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you” (v. 16). Now, that’s a witness!

Does your unwavering devotion to Christ lead others to trust your Saviour? Too many Christians have…

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

Jesus had a simple request for Peter, James, and John in the Garden of Gethsemane, and that was to watch and pray (see Matthew 26:41). But they were sleeping instead of praying.

Perhaps, the disciples’ lack of prayer was the result of self-confidence. Think about it: When do we usually pray? We pray when we are in trouble. If things are going reasonably well, if the bills are paid, if our health is good, if there are no problems on the horizon—at least that we are aware of—we may not pray all that much. But when a crisis hits, when problems come, we start praying. And that is fine. It has been said that if your knees…

Self-examination (Be Like Your Heavenly Father)

Self-examination (Be Like Your Heavenly Father)

We need to set examples for others to follow. In the Bible, all leadership in the kingdom of God is portrayed by example. When Jesus trained His disciples, He not only taught lessons but actually displayed the will of God in His actions, words and relationships. In order to lead in this manner, Jesus had to personally examine His heart and keep His mind, spirit and attitude in check. If you really desire harmony in your home, always start with yourself by first examining your heart, thereby, like Jesus, keeping your mind, spirit, and attitude in check. Remember, Jesus taught: “He that is without sin… let him first cast a stone…” (John 8:7). Self-examination is the start of all harmony. If we start with ourselves, we will be less likely to see the faults of others.

Our Love Will Be Tested

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

Read: Genesis 22:1-2

Not only is love expensive, it may also undergo a trial. If you don’t believe this, ask Abraham. At a time, Abraham was torn between his promised child Isaac and God. It became inevitable for God to test whether he still loved Him (Genesis 22:1-2). Whether you like it or not, your love for God will be tested. Usually it would be based on someone or something you really love. Isaac was about 15 years before the test. Abraham…

Philippians 2 (Christ’s Humility And Greatness)

Holy Bible. New Living Translation

1Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?
2Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
4Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.

7Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave

Get in God’s will, and stay in it!

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and
no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept
my word, and hast not denied my name.

Revelation 3:8

God is expecting us not only to keep His Word written for us but also to
keep the Word that He has spoken to us. That is why you can’t just walk
away. You can’t say, “I don’t want to do this anymore. Those people
made me mad. I am tired of it.”

Let me tell you. Whatever God sent you to do, He expects you to do that
until He tells you otherwise. I don’t care what happens. God didn’t
find out something all of a sudden. God knew the future before you
found it out. In fact, He knew it before…

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest

Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

MATTHEW 11:20-30

Yokes were made of wood with two hollowed out sections on the bottom portion that rested on the necks of oxen, which used to plow or to draw a cart. Figuratively, a yoke symbolized servitude or submission. Jesus is admonishing us to submit ourselves to Him, for true rest comes from serving Him – not ourselves.

A new ox was often trained for plowing or drawing a cart by…

If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.
Isaiah 7:9

Sometimes we hold on to that which is unsure, afraid to reach out for the thing that is sure. You cannot have both. You must leave the shaky house to move into the house built on the rock. You can’t live in two houses or kingdoms at the same time.

There are only two kingdoms: Fear and FAITH. If you are walking in fear you are not in faith. Faith in God will cause the impossible to manifest in your life. Faith says that “it will happen” while fear says, “it will never happen.”

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews

1 Corinthians 13:11

“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.”
NLT

As a child, our focus is pretty set on ourselves. When we’re infants, we cry because we want to eat. When we are toddlers, our vocabulary consists mainly of the word ‘mine’. As a school age child, we wrestle with wanting to fit in or be in the right crowd. While as adults we may struggle with some of the same issues, we begin looking outside ourselves and begin noticing the needs of others. As followers of Christ, this is simply a part of life.

Believing God for Abundance

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.

Luke 14:28

You need to believe that God’s blessing will cause you to have
abundance. If you do these practical things that are in line with God’s
Word—be faithful concerning the resources God has given you, and give unto
God like the Word of God teaches—you can trust God.

Every day, get up and confess what God is doing to your finances.
Confess how His blessing is on your life and how it is making you rich.
Confess how God is sending men your way to give unto you good measure,
pressed down, shaken together and running over. Rehearse your victory
dance! Stay in faith! Your whole situation will turn around quickly
because God cooperates with individuals who obey Him.

Clothed in ChristRighteousness

And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take.

Mark 15:24, NKJV

When Jesus finally arrived at the place of execution around nine o’clock in the morning, if His treatment followed standard procedure in those days, He was stripped of all His clothes. Possibly He was allowed to retain a loincloth.

Yet because Jesus was stripped “naked,” you and I can be clothed! The Bible tells us that all of our righteousness, including the very best things we ever do, are so permeated with sin and selfishness that they are like filthy rags in God‘s sight
(Isa. 64:6). But at the Cross, Jesus gave us His perfect, spotless robe of righteousness and took our filthy garments…

You are God’s child, and God will give you the blessing He promised! Galatians 4:7

I can’t assure you your family will ever give you the blessing you seek—but I know God will!

If your earthly father doesn’t affirm you, then let your Heavenly Father take His place!

It’s one thing to accept Him as LORD, another to recognize Him as Saviour. To recognize God as LORD is to acknowledge that He is sovereign and supreme in the universe. To accept Him as Saviour is to accept His gift of salvation offered on the cross of Calvary.

To regard Him as Father is to go a step further! A father is the one in your life who provides and protects. That is exactly what God has done. He has provided for your needs. Protected you from harm. Adopted you. And He has given you His name! Hallelujah!

There is no limit to God’s favour in our lives

As God’s children, we are given His favour as a special gift. But the favour of God is not about us; it’s about His grace and desire to bless His children for their faithfulness and obedience. He’s a good and loving Father, and He’s ALWAYS looking for ways to show us His love.

God’s heart is so big, and He’s filled with so much good that He doesn’t have to take favour away from one person to give it to someone else.

THERE’S NO LIMIT TO GOD’S FAVOR IN YOUR LIFE.

But remember this…living in the favour of God doesn’t mean you won’t have setbacks or difficulties. It doesn’t mean that you won’t have to persevere, press on or keep hope alive through hard times. The truth is it’s in…

We can absolutely trust God and His Word – The Bible

John 17:17 “Dedicate them to Yourself by means of the truth; Your Word is truth”

Most of us know at least one person we consider very honest. When we ask that person for his opinion, he tells us what he really thinks. If we ask him to take care of something important for us, he will be open about whether or not he can do it.

That is even more true of Our Holy God. We can trust Him and His Word – completely and implicitly. It would violate God’s truthfulness, holiness, omniscience and love if His Word could not be trusted.

During the first centuries of the Church, false teachers tried to argue that the Bible was not completely truthful. Paul quickly defended the Bible. He proclaimed that all Scripture is God’s…

In other words, God tells us that He can have influence upon the hearts of men, upon kings and other people in authority. He tells us the way He can have this influence is if we will lift them up before Him. I know that you may not be like me, but I often forget my leaders. I’d rather complain than pray. But here we see that God can change the hearts of the people and the circumstances; not just kings and presidents, but even mayors, teachers…

Let us not place our hope in winning a “jackpot or lottery,” but our hope must remain in Christ, who gives us the power to get wealth

Beloved of God!

As we embark upon the holiest time in the Christian Church calendar, I pray that
our focus today is on the goodness, grace and mercy of God and not on the $540+
million lottery. While the scripture does not say, “thou shall not gamble,” there
are numerous scriptures that point to God’s methods for wealth creation: Deuteronomy
8:18; Proverbs 6:6-8; Proverbs 13:11; Proverbs 21:5, 20; Proverbs 28:20; and Malachi
3:10-11.
Numerous studies have proven that the lottery system is supported by the
poorest communities in our nation. Those who can least afford to spend $10 – $40
per week on tickets are the very ones who comprise the bulk…
