Is There A Secret Sin In Your Life Taking You Down The Wrong Road?

Felice da Nicosia

Is there a secret sin in your life taking you down the wrong road?

“Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desire will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please The Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.” (Galatians 6:8)

God does not wait until judgment day to settle sin accounts. He also built natural consequences into sin as a deterrent.
I am reminded of a friend who was one of the most remarkable preachers I have known. He was a pastor of a thriving church. Then one day, a prostitute came to his office seeking his counsel. He felt sorry for her and asked his wife if this prostitute could live in their home so they could rehabilitate her.
After living with them for three weeks, the prostitute told his wife that she wanted…

Holiness Costs

Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
1 John 3:3
There are many Christians who like the notion of being holy as long as it cost them nothing-no hardships, no difficulties, no scorn and no financial or property loss.
Men like Samuel Wesley dug the wells of holiness and suffered losses-burning of crops, continual threats of physical harm and false imprisonment-yet they stood their ground for holiness.
Though men hated him, Samuel continued to live a life of holiness before God. Though his house was set on fire and he almost lost his son, John, who was trapped on the second floor of the burning building-he stood for holiness.
God is expecting us to stand for holiness too.
There is a cost to live a life…

Secret Sins

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. Psalms 90:8

Besides expressing faith in God, the righteous is identified by consistent right-standing with God. According to Ezekiel 3:21, the righteous is expected not to live in sin, but to continue to do what glorifies God. Righteousness is not something you engage today and disengage tomorrow like some people think. You do not abstain from sin only when those you respect are around, but also when they are not around. The righteous does not only abstain from public sins but also from secret ones. The challenge of most believers is not how to avoid open sins but how to stay righteous in their thoughts realm and to keep away from touching the unclean things when they are all by themselves. That is a major challenge and…

The Passion Of Christ

“The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself.”  John 10:11, The Message

God is on a cross. The creator of the universe is being executed.

Spit and blood are caked to his cheeks, and his lips are cracked and swollen.

Thorns rip his scalp. His lungs scream with pain. His legs knot with cramps . . .

And there is no one to save him, for he is sacrificing himself.

It is no normal six hours . . . it is no normal Friday.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

 Minister: Pastor E A Adeboye

Bible Text: Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

What is a sign? A sign is an evidence that what you claim to be is true. Pharaoh said in Exodus 5:1-2 that he didn’t know who God was and He wouldn’t let Israel go but in Exodus 12:29-32 , after God had shown Pharaoh a sign, He begged Israel to go. All the Pharaoh who said you will not go , God will show them a sign in Jesus name. Amen!

Also in Daniel 3:14-15, Nebuchadnezzar said if the three Hebrew boys did not bow down to…

No Weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which raises against you in judgment you shall condemn. (Isaiah 54:17A)

Supernatural protection is one of the several blessings every child of God should enjoy. David said in the famous Psalm 23:4-5: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies…” As a child of God, you are protected from all evil and harm; He wants you to know that your safety…

Stay clear of rebellion. When unity is useless

“And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are” (John 17:11).

One thing that singled out Jesus and His disciples was their level of unity. They could accomplish so much together because of this virtue. However, from the Lord’s Prayer above, the Lord expressed His desire for His disciples to be united as He is with the Father, even after He would have left the scene. Any unity born out of the contrivance of man may not last. If you exclude God in your quest for unity, the centre will not hold. Whatever you are bringing together may part ways naturally…

The Destructiveness of Sin

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 John 4:11, NKJV

The longing of God’s heart, if it can be expressed as such, is to be known, loved, glorified, and enjoyed by His creation. Although in His plural nature God has ultimate fellowship, love, and harmony within the Trinity, He also desired fellowship and friendship with Adam and Eve.

But early in their lives Adam and Eve made one choice that broke their relationship with God and cost them their happiness at the present and their destiny for the future, devastating their family for every generation to come. This devastation was inevitable because life is made up of relationships with God, with others, and with ourselves, and the choice to sin through disobedience destroyed all three relationships. Sin destroys our relationship…

The God Head: Team Players!

“That they all maybe one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou has sent me.” (John 17:21).

In John 10:30, Jesus says, “I and my Father are one”. This, contrary to what some teach, does not mean that they are one in number, because 1 John 5:7 says they are three: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Both scriptures therefore speak of oneness in terms of unity. This is a lesson for us today. If there were any individuals who could do all things all by themselves, it is the members of the Godhead. God The father, God The Son and God The Holy…

Just imagine a well trained and experienced driver who is knowledgeable about the traffic laws but chooses to disobey because he or she is in hurry to get to their destination for a just cause or simply because they are impatient. Whatever good reason he or she might have does not hide the fact that he has broken the law, if apprehended he or she will be tried and found guilty of the law.  This highlights the most common mistakes people make about God and His laws (The Ten Commandments).

God’s justice will be so thorough; He will even judge hatred as murder and “every idle word that men speak”. Have you ever put anything in your life before God? If you have, will you be innocent or…

Get connected to God, Get connected to His Son Christ Jesus

God is the source of our power. Without the flow of His divine grace, we malfunction and life becomes tedious.

The thing that stops the flow of His grace in our lives is SIN.

Until sin came, man did not know sickness, failure and poverty.

Thank God! The price has been paid for our sins.

Just acknowledge that Christ Jesus died and rose on your behalf.

Accept Him as the Lord and Saviour of your life. You will experience a change in your life.

Say this prayer with me right now:

Lord Jesus Christ! Thank You for dying for me on the cross of Calvary, I ask that you forgive me my sins. You are my Lord and Saviour from today. Thank You for saving me! Amen!!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American

Pray To Separate Your Leaders From Fear

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Before any leader will make it in ministry, there is a need to back up such an individual with prayers. It took much intercessory prayers from Jesus on behalf of Peter, to move from a point of denying Jesus to the other extreme of performing special miracles (Acts 5:15-16). For your leaders to succeed, you need to invest in prayers for him or her. If you fail to pray for your leaders, do not complain when they fall into temptations or take wrong decisions. You are part of the cause. However, if you pray for your leader and yet he fails, you pray want to believe that it was still partly your…

Hospitality Of God’s Children

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Hebrew 13:2)

One lesson from the story in 1 Kings 17:17-24 is that God rewards the hospitable. The woman who lost her son was a hospitable person. One benefit of hospitality is that hospitable people may not suffer a permanent loss. An example here was Abraham. In Genesis 18:14, Abraham received heavenly visitors and pending promises of many years were fulfilled. Another example was Lot. In Genesis 19:1-22, when he received the angels who came in the form of men, he made a feast. Through his hospitality, he delivered himself and his immediate family from the fire that fell…

Dangers Of Loving The World

Dangers Of Loving The World

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (1 John 2:16)

When you love the world, it can affect salient areas of your life. This is why we must pray for leaders to shun worldly lust and focus on the things of God. The love of the world can stand between you and your requests. A leader who loves the world will be incapable of making effective intercession for the flock. The love of the world also terminates spiritual life. The fellow who loves the world will find his or her love for God ebbing by the day. With love for the world, it will be impossible to love God with all your heart. Yet, God…

God’s Testimonial

“Henceforth I call you not servant; for the servant knows not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you” (John 15:15)

God testifies that you are the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13-16). The testimony of a child of God is of great significance. Revelation 1:5-6 says we have been made kings and priests unto God. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar…

Divisions Not Allowed In God’s House

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (Corinthians 1:10)

If there will be unity in a family, church or a group of people, the role of the leader cannot be over emphasized. A leader should be the unifying force over those he or she leads. In this regard, the leader should ensure his subordinates’ opposing or dissenting views are harmonized in a way as to carry all of them along their common objective for being together in the first place. Unfortunately, some leaders deliberately encourage divisions, by sowing seeds of discord and turning one subordinate against the other…

Are You A Leader?

“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen!” (Revelation 1:6)

One commodity the world is in short supply of is good leaders. Even in families, they are needed. A family can be the smallest organisation – comprising the husband and his wife. Yet, if the man lacks leadership skills to provide the required direction, guidance, coordination and control, it may be difficult for the family to realize its collective goal. Every organization is only as good as its leaders. Therefore, it becomes mandatory for future leaders to acquire leadership training, education and skills…

Are You Sure You Are Heading For Heaven?

We live in a world of very many uncertainties. For example, it is uncertain that a new baby will one day become father or mother of children. Though we say that the young shall grow, we are not sure: because the young may die young. Only God knows tomorrow. Isaiah 46:9-10.

However, certain things are certain now and forever, for example, it is certain that the sun shall rise tomorrow. It is also certain that we will never see today again above all, it is certain that sooner or later, even a child that is born today shall die one…

After God created Adam, he ruled as a king over the whole earth. He named all the animals with his God-given, unparalleled wisdom. Everything went well and was peaceful. In addition, he regularly received his heavenly visitor – GOD. All he needed had been provided ever before he was created. Then came SIN! The man who wanted to be like God was reduced to dust.
