I just read the devastating news of REV. FR. JAMES OMEH, a priest of Minna Diocese Nigeria. It was raining yesterday and since it was a Sunday, he didn’t want the rain to deprive his parishioners the opportunity to attend Mass. So, he set out for Mass under the rain and on the way, the bridge he was crossing on caved in and his vehicle fell into the river. Sadly, the priest didn’t survive it.

And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron” (2 Chronicles 29:16).

House cleaning is an old and beneficial practice whose essence is beyond maintaining the visual appeal of living space. It involves proper cleaning and organisation of the environment and other measures taken to enhance health, well-being, safety, and aesthetics. Neglect of this often proves disastrous in the end.
King Hezekiah embarked on a unique sort of house cleansing as soon as he ascended the throne. He opened the door of the temple that his father had shut and sought a return to the true worship of God. He summoned the Levites whose duty it was to keep the temple, and charged them to cleanse the house of God, recognising that his father perpetrated so much evil there.
The Levites were prompt in their response; they gathered, and underwent a process of personal cleansing first, recognising that those who come to equity must come with clean hands. They then proceeded into the inner parts of the temple and discovered monumental uncleanness there. They brought out those unclean things and dumped them in the river, Kidron. It took all of eight days for the house, the altar, and all the vessels to be cleansed. Once done, they informed the king that the task had been accomplished, and the temple was now ready for the service of the Lord.
As believers, we need a similar cleansing, not of the physical temple but of ourselves as the temples of the Holy Ghost. We can no longer lay claim to our lives, nor can we do as we please. God distastes any form of impurity in our lives. As we examine ourselves, if we perceive any uncleanness, we must take steps immediately to be cleansed by acknowledging (not rationalizing), confessing, and relinquishing our hold on sin. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Constantly doing this is the only way to maintain sound spiritual health, well-being, and safety.

This morning, I came across a disturbing post of a young Catholic priest (just four years into his priesthood), Rev. Fr. Alois Cheruiyot Bett, who was brutally murdered in a rural part of Kenya where he served as a missionary. The news broke my heart.
As a missionary, this priest left the comfort of home to serve the Gospel in a place many would avoid. He chose the poor. He embraced the forgotten. He gave his life to Christ and his people. And what did he get in return? A violent death. What do you really gain by killing a priest?
This tragedy is not isolated. In Nigeria, my own country, priests have become endangered species and are being hunted down like threats. In recent years, some have been burnt to death, many shot to death, and others abducted and tortured to death. The blood of priests has become familiar with our soil.
But here is the thing many do not understand: a priest is already a victim. Every priest, at ordination, is configured to Christ the High Priest who “offered Himself once for all” (Hebrews 7:27). To be a priest therefore is to live in constant self-offering – an immolation at the altar of service.
As such, when you kill a priest, you are not ending a life; you are completing a sacrifice. You may have spilled his blood, but he already gave it. You may have pierced his body, but he had long placed it on the altar of sacrifice. A priest dies before he is killed – by the love that makes him a victim for others.
When you kill a priest, you do not kill a man with silver and gold. You kill a man who buried himself in broken villages, who fed children, who raised altars where hope was scarce. You murder a man whose weapon is the Word and whose power is prayer. What, then, do you gain?
The priest is a bridge (Hebrews 5:1), a voice for the voiceless, a father to the orphaned, a confessor to the guilty, and a servant to the suffering. To kill a priest is to wage war on mercy, to tear down the very hand reaching out to lift the wounded. To kill a priest is to declare war against grace. But grace always rises again. Like Christ.
To those who raise their hands against priests, keep this in mind: You can kill the priest, but not the priesthood. The blood you spill nourishes the Church. The silence you cause will echo louder than your bullets/weapons. From every martyr, God raises more. And the altar will never be empty. You kill flesh, but the spirit of their sacrifice lives forever. They may fall, but their mission outlives your bullets.
May the soul of that young priest in Kenya, and all the slain priests across Africa, rest in the peace of Christ. And may their deaths stir and awaken us – Church and society – to defend those who defend our hope and to stop this blood because you gain absolutely nothing by killing a priest.

STUDY: It is important to note that in Bible teachings, encounter precedes doctrine, in other words, before God places a behavioral demand on man, He has made a provision for encounter with Him, so that the behaviour when expressed, becomes a reflection of God’s glory and not a manifestation of man’s ‘achievement.’.
This principle applies in our text for today: God originally designed marriage to reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church; and the matrimonial instructions in our passage are deliberately put after we have been shown who we are in Christ (as seen in chapters 1 to 3 of the Book of Ephesians). Against that backdrop therefore, we are shown how believing couples should live.
For Christians, submission and love are expressions of humility, trust and reverence towards God’s design for marriage. It involves a willingness to yield to one another and consider a priority, the needs and well-being of the spouse. However, Christian marriage among other things, should emphasize mutual submission, sacrificial love, and servant leadership. Therefore, whether you are married or not, please note that God desires our daily living to mirror his character, especially in our homes. Are you still in love with your wife? Wife, do you submit to your husband?

“And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as He had spoken.” (Genesis 21:1 KJV)
When God speaks, you need to believe it. The last time I checked, He is relaxed in heaven, laughing, because He has spoken. When God made a promise to Abram, like most of us, he must have thought that it would happen immediately, but as time passed, nothing happened. Soon after, Abram felt like time was running out, but God came to him in a vision in Genesis 15:1 (KJV) and said: “…Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”
Beloved, the Lord will protect you from all evil; always have that in mind because you matter to Him. Abram said, ‘Lord, You made me a promise when I was 75. Many years after, nothing has happened.’ And God took him out, showed him the stars of the sky, and asked him to number them, further stating to Abram, the vast number of descendants he would have.
In chapter 16, this would have been a likely conversation between Sarai and Abram; she must have said to him, “We probably have to make our own luck now and take our destiny into our hands. I know God said it, but I believe that we stand a much greater chance of having a child through our own arrangement, instead of waiting on God.’ Unfortunately, this is where some believers are; they feel like God needs some help with bringing His word to pass, and want to assist Him. It is interesting to think that mortal, limited man can conceive to give an assist to the immortal, illimitable One. Beloved, God is God; leave Him in His exclusive class.
Sarai’s suggestion of Abram going into Hagar her Egyptian maid in order to have a child, would have been with the idea that after all is said and done, “child is a child”. However, this was not the case; this was the case of a child of promise, and not one that was gotten by human efforts and collusion. That relationship produced Ishmael. But notice that the birth of Ishmael did not stop the promise of God. When it was the appointed time, God visited Sarah as He had promised. Child of God, it may not look like it now, but wait for it; God’s promise to you will come to pass. It will happen without your help. Keep the faith.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
MESSAGE
The best commodities you can get on earth must be eternal in nature. In other words, such gifts must have eternity-significance and relevance. They are not subject to degradation by the corruption of this temporary imperfect world
The best gifts I received from the LORD is Eternal Life, served on the platform of His pure Love through faith in Christ Jesus, activated by the Holy Ghost. They opened the doors to several other divine gifts, including His ever soothing Presence that refreshes me and makes me immune from the pangs of this worn-out earth, as well as other spiritual gifts to be empowered for the work of ministry and promote the beautiful agenda of His glorious kingdom.
Let’s briefly explore the significance of these gifts and commodities. The scripture says –
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
First, God had offered to an undeserving world the gift of His pure Love.
Take note of the fact that sin redesigned the destiny of the earth and its inhabitants to go the way of doom and perishing.
There are two folds of perishing:
1. Perishing On Earth
Characterized by continuous degradation of the quality of life, and being weak to become all that one has been destined to be.
Look around your society, there are many folks perishing under the burdens of sin, satan, self, sickness, poverty, death, hell, and other negative stuff.
2. Perishing Into Eternity
Once a person dies without doing the needful (making things right with God and accepting His offer of love), such will use his or her own legs to embrace the paths of being perished in hell and the lake of fire burning with brimstone (Revelation 19:20; 20:10, 15).
God’s Gift Of Eternal Life
The antidote of having to subject oneself to the ugly paths of perishing on earth and into eternity is being injected with eternal life, through faith in Christ Jesus.
Eternal life is the very life of God, and its composition is eternally potent to make you live above self, sin, satan, sickness, poverty, hell, curses, etc.
What better gift is there to this?
If you want to submit to Jesus, simply say this prayer:
“LORD JESUS, I believe in my heart that You died for me and You raised on the third day for my justification. And so I confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and Savior. From today, I belong to the family of God. Thank You for giving me eternal life.”

Wrong attitudes have enormous power in our lives. That’s why God has placed within each of us a conscience that begins to feel guilty when our attitudes and actions are wrong.
Many of the later-model cars are equipped with theft alarm systems. The more sensitive ones can be annoying to the general public as the least bit of motion by a passer-by or the lightest touch to the car body can send off an ear-splitting siren accompanied by flashing lights and honking horn. But that obnoxious sensitivity is purposefully designed to be a protection against unwanted entry.
God has built into each of us an alarm system to warn us of the unwanted entry of sin into our lives. The alarm system is called guilt. Guilt is our friend. Without it we would go on in sin until we were dominated and defeated by it. So . . . heed the alarm and repent of your sin!

It’s obvious that the biggest business for blackmailers now is talking about Peter Obi from every negative perspective. Even my solemn spiritual trip to Rome has been twisted into yet another blackmail campaign by merchants paid ostensibly to propagate anything negative against Obi.
One such individual, whose entire life revolves around blackmail, falsely claimed that I went to Rome to have a private meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding a purported ₦225 billion debt crisis involving Fidelity Bank. These claims are not only baseless, malicious, but entirely false.
Let me categorically state that I have never sought an audience with, nor met, President Tinubu since he assumed office, except about 1 minute meeting at the arena of Saint Peter’s Basilica Rome during the inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV, where I was seated behind, and had to respectfully greet him, and other dignitaries present.
I was previously in Rome on the 9th of May for the lying in state of Pope Francis. Immediately after the mass and exchanging pleasantries, I went straight from Vatican City to London, and then back to Nigeria.
The self-proclaimed “blackmailer-in-chief” and others who thrive on spreading pain and falsehoods have also claimed that I own Fidelity Bank. For the record, I do not. Throughout my career, I have served as Chairman/Director of 3 banks/Financial institutions, of which Fidelity is one of them. Fidelity has over 500,000 shareholders, none of whom hold a majority stake. What this blackmailer seeks is to harm these hard-working Nigerians and cause them needless distress.
To those peddling these falsehoods, and engaging in blackmail, I offer a simple prayer: May God grant you the virtues of gratitude and understanding to know that we came here with nothing and will go with nothing, that they cannot profit from their evil ways.
A new Nigeria is POssible.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

MESSAGE:
A lady, who had consistently failed her driving test for 17 years, attended one of our Holy Ghost Services. During the service, the word of God came, “There is somebody here; you will never fail another exam.” The next time she took the driving test, she passed.
When God’s word comes, negative cycles of frustration and pain come to an end. After Joshua and the Israelites crossed Jordan, they were met by another obstacle: Jericho. The city had formidable walls, and the gates were shut.
Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. (Joshua 6:1)
When the word of God came, the walls fell down like a pack of cards before the Israelites. I decree today that the word you need to overcome great and ancient obstacles will come to you, in Jesus’ name.
The sick man at the pool of Bethesda in today’s Bible reading had endured a terrible cycle of frustration, pain, and disappointment for 38 years. However, when the word of God (Jesus) came to him, he got his healing and was delivered from the long cycle of negative circumstances surrounding him. When the word of God came to him, everything turned around for good. In the name that is above every other name, the word that will turn your good dreams into realities and change whatever negative circumstances that exist in your life permanently will come to you. If you have been experiencing any form of bondage, God will destroy everything that has kept you in chains, in Jesus’ name.
In (2 Kings 4:1-7), the story of the widow of one of the sons of the prophets changed for good. When her husband died, he left his family in so much debt that his sons were going to become slaves. Thankfully, she didn’t keep her problems to herself; she cried out to God’s representative, Elisha, and her cry activated a word from heaven that changed her life. She got a miracle that not only brought her out of debt but also gave her and her children enough to live on for the rest of her life.
Beloved, you can get God to send His word to heal you and break you out of any bondage you might be experiencing if you cry to Him for help. If you stay quiet, nothing will change about the situation. However, if you cry to Him, He will send His word and deliver you.

I have consistently maintained that for this country to make progress, Nigeria must cease to function as a crime scene and be repositioned for genuine development.
This entrenched corruption – persistent and deeply rooted – must be nipped in the bud if there is to be any meaningful turnaround.
How else can we explain the distressing revelations by BudgIT, which uncovered a staggering ₦7 trillion in questionable projects inserted into the 2025 national budget? I am convinced that this figure represents only a fraction of the actual amount misappropriated. These findings are deeply troubling and confirm my long-held position that we have turned our country into a crime scene. We must urgently and aggressively combat corruption, misappropriation, and fiscal recklessness in order to manage our resources effectively and efficiently, and invest in critical areas of development: health, education, and lifting our people out of poverty.
The ₦7 trillion uncovered as fraudulently inserted into the 2025 budget is even greater than the combined allocations to the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and the Ministry of Agriculture – ministries that are fundamental to national development.
To be precise:
•The Ministry of Education was allocated ₦3.52 trillion,
•The Ministry of Health received ₦2.48 trillion,
•The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation was allocated ₦260 billion, and
•The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security received ₦636.08 billion.
Combined, these four ministries were allocated ₦6.896 trillion—an already inflated amount—yet still less than the ₦7 trillion dubiously inserted into the budget.
That ₦7 trillion figure is even more than the ₦6.1 trillion allocated to national security—at a time when Nigeria is among the most terrorised nations in the world.
This brazen impunity by our leaders is precisely why the country cannot invest adequately in education—hence the existence of nearly 20 million out-of-school children. It is the same corruption that has crippled primary healthcare, resulting in alarming levels of malnourished children. We face widespread hunger, yet our leaders neglect agricultural investment due to persistent mismanagement and lack of accountability. The same disregard affects our capacity to fund national security effectively, or to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which are vital to national growth.
These glaring acts of corruption reinforce my position: Nigeria has been reduced to a crime scene.
We must confront this corruption, misappropriation, and fiscal recklessness with unwavering resolve. Our national resources must be transparently managed and strategically invested in key sectors—health, education, and poverty alleviation—to secure a better future for our people. We must turn this nation around.

After giving your life to Jesus Christ, you need to go further in your walk with God by becoming a disciple. Many children of God these days don’t know that discipleship has a price. They don’t even know that Jesus Christ, the Master, has a yoke that they must share with Him.
The early disciples, with great difficulty, got to understand this truth on the eve of the crucifixion. While agonizing over the inevitable death on the Cross, Jesus Christ asked the disciples to pray and watch along with Him, but instead, they slept.
MATTHEW 26:40-41 says: “And He cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, what, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
We are so blessed to have a Master who knows our frame. He knows that the flesh is weak, even though the spirit is willing. Our willingness to share in His yoke qualifies us to be His disciples. Today, many people don’t want to be taught this aspect of the Gospel. They prefer the doctrine of relativism, which teaches that the end justifies the means.
Those things that the Lord Jesus Christ abhorred are being courted by some so-called believers today. This should not be so in our lives in Jesus name.
In LUKE 9:23-26, Jesus Christ gives a vivid description of the price we must pay to be true disciples of His. In LUKE 9:23-24, He said: “….if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
This is the price of Discipleship. There are many so -called “disciples” today who are far from being disciples. Many cannot even deny their ungodly friends, not to talk of denying themselves. They hold tenaciously to the world contrary to the word in 1 JOHN 2:15-17 which says:
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
Dearly beloved, are you a true disciples of Jesus Christ or do you want to be one? Ponder on these things and don’t deceive yourself. Always remember what the Holy Spirit said to us in 2 TIMOTHY 2:12: “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us.”
With absolute soberness, deep reflection, let’s pray this prayer from the depth of our hearts: Father, the grace to follow You in spirit and in truth, please give me today in Jesus Christ amazing name Amen-Shalom.

This year 2025 is your year of Rest, therefore, I announce to the devil and all his cohorts that you will experience Rest in every area of life; sickness and diseases will not ravage your body. Every plan of the wicked against you will not prosper. Because you have made the Lord your refuge and your habitation, no evil shall befall you, neither shall any plague come nigh your dwelling. I declare that contrary to the doctor’s report, you will dedicate your baby! Even if it has been delayed for so long, I declare that your wedding will be conducted. Your business will thrive. Creation has been commanded to see to your good; therefore, you will succeed. No more delays.
David declares: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2)
Beloved, the blood of Jesus is powerful. It is the blood that speaks better things than the blood of Abel, and it speaks on your behalf. Understand that God in Christ, has cut a covenant with Himself concerning you, which cannot be overruled. This is why you cannot be disappointed, no matter how much the enemy tries. You have been sentenced to a life of victory, through what Christ accomplished at the Cross over 2,000 years ago. Not only did He give you victory perpetually, but He also made an open display of the enemy that is trying to deny you of your inheritance (Colossians 2:14-15).
Go about your daily activities with this understanding, and experience victory like never before. It is your season of Rest; Rest is not inactivity, it is spirit-guided and spirit-led activity, that generates divine results! This is your portion, in Jesus Christ Mighty Name, amen!
