Men don’t marry women solely because they are rich.

Men don’t marry women solely because they are beautiful.

Men don’t marry women solely because they are endowed.

Men don’t marry women solely because she stayed with him during hard times.

Men don’t marry women solely because she is Christian and she speaks in tongues.

Men don’t marry women solely because she’s a Muslim and she uses hijab.

Men don’t marry women solely because she studied medicine or law or whatever course.

Men, (I mean men who have some level of self esteem and self respect), marry women because they have found something in that woman that makes them want to choose her every single day.

Sometimes, it is peace.

Sometimes, it is respect.

Sometimes, it is friendship, understanding, attraction, character, emotional safety, compatibility, or simply how life feels when you are around.

You can be the most beautiful woman he has ever dated and still not be the woman he wants to marry.

You can stay with a man through poverty and hardship, and he can be forever grateful to you, but gratitude is not marriage.

You can have three degrees, make more money than him, pray five times a day or speak in tongues until the ceiling starts shaking, but none of these automatically makes you someone a man wants to spend his entire life with.

Because marriage is not a reward for being a “good woman.”

It is choosing someone you believe you can actually do life with.

Someone you can disagree with without disrespect.

Someone you can struggle with without becoming enemies.

Someone you can trust with your weaknesses, your children, your money, your dreams and your future.

Beauty can attract him.

Your achievements can impress him.

Your sacrifices can make him appreciate you.

Your religion can make him respect you.

But when it comes to marriage, he still has to look at YOU, beyond everything you possess and everything you have done, and genuinely think:

“This is the woman I want to come home to for the rest of my life.”

The question is; ARE YOU THAT PERSON???
