Jesus Christ Is Standing At the Door Of Our Hearts

It is humbling to imagine that even in His heavenly glory, Christ knocks on the doors of our hearts, asking to come in. If we open that door, we will stand before Him. What a glorious moment. There is an old song that speaks of the comfort we find when we stand before God and with God.

When I stand with God, no raging storm shall ever shake me
When I stand with Him, the cares of life can never break me
For when I’m crying He dries my tears
When I’m frightened He hides my fears
All my sorrows disappear
When I stand with Him.

We have the assurance that in the storms of life, Jesus Himself will be standing with us. He is waiting to share our sorrows and to renew our courage.

Glorious Generation (Sermon Note)

Introduction

Gory is part of the excellence of God. Thus, the chosen of God do normally reveal His glory in all areas of their lives. In this study, we shall examine the way God reveal His glory in the lives of His chosen ones, from one generation to another. May the Lord Himself teach us through His Holy Spirit in Jesus Name, Amen!

Bible Passage:            Genesis 12:1-3

Abraham

God deliberately chose Abraham to separate him from others and to bless him – Genesis 12:1. Abraham had no input in the divine choice – Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:8

Once Abraham accepted God’s invitation, God’s manifested upon him and his generations to follow. Abraham became the first recorded rich and wealthy man in the Bible – Genesis 13:2; 24:34-35; 14:14.

What do you do “When Life Stinks”?

What do you do “When Life Stinks“?

At some point in time, everyone experiences a huge let down. No one is exempt! Something doesn’t go our way or someone doesn’t come through as anticipated. And, sometimes that someone is God! Pretending that life is nothing but sunshine once you give your life to Christ would be just that…pretending!

Learning, how to handle our disappointment, even disappointment with God, is essential in our faith journey.

Corrie ten Boom said it best, when we go through the darkest of tunnels, “that’s the most important time to stay on the train and trust the Conductor-GOD!.”

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus…

But Now!God is waiting to hear from you!

Isaiah 59:2 says: “Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.

When you lived under sin, God’s ears were deaf to your cries, as this scripture clearly tells you. John 9:31 says: “Now we know that God does not hear sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does His will, him He hears.”

I want to encourage you to remember that before you came to Christ, your sins and iniquities caused the heavens to be brass, but now Heaven is open for you. The Bible tells us that God sent forth His Son, and that Jesus was made to be sin for you when He knew no sin, so that you could be…

The hill is quiet now. Not still but quiet. For the first time all day there is no noise. The clamor began to subside when the darkness—that puzzling midday darkness—fell. Like water douses a fire, the shadows doused the ridicule. No more taunts. No more jokes. No more jesting. And, in time, no more mockers. One by one the onlookers turned and began the descent.

That is, all the onlookers except you and me. We did not leave. We came to learn. And so we lingered in the semidarkness and listened. We listened to the soldiers cursing, the passersby questioning, and the women weeping. But most…

God loves to hear us pray

God loves to hear us pray

James 5:16 says: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Here the Bible tells us that the prayer of a righteous man can change things. In a story related in the passage of scripture that follows this verse you can read about Elijah, who was a man of like passion such as you and I are. He was an ordinary man facing things in life – family issues, hardships, ups and downs, persecutions, lack, needs, fears, and shortcomings. And yet when he prayed, God moved and shut up the heavens for 3 ½ years. He then prayed again, and God opened the heavens with rain. This shows us that our prayer lives, because we are now the righteousness of…

The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. —Luke 19:10

Our view of people determines how we treat them!

READ:Luke 19:1-10

The citizens of Jericho were offended when Jesus went to the home of Zacchaeus the tax collector. “When they saw it, they all complained, saying, ‘He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner’” (Luke 19:7). Yet, when Zacchaeus had a deep change of heart (v.8), Jesus told him, “Today salvation has come to this house . . . for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (vv.9-10).

A friend once said, “When we see people as losers, we treat them with contempt. When we see them as lost, we treat them with compassion.”

Faithfulness

Read | Daniel 6:1-28

Daniel had faithfully been living out his commitment to the Lord from the time he was a teenager. His witness of integrity and godliness was earned over a lifetime, during which he’d been challenged frequently to compromise his faith.

Today’s passage shows him facing a desperately dangerous situation: the lions’ den. Although we usually focus on Daniel and the animals, a surprising aspect of this story is the reaction of the king.

Though he’d foolishly signed the law that created Daniel’s treacherous predicament, Darius was so impressed with the young man that he tried to rescue him. When the ruler’s efforts failed, he made a surprising statement of trust in the Lord: “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you” (v. 16). Now, that’s a witness!

Does your unwavering devotion to Christ lead others to trust your Saviour? Too many Christians have…

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

Jesus had a simple request for Peter, James, and John in the Garden of Gethsemane, and that was to watch and pray (see Matthew 26:41). But they were sleeping instead of praying.

Perhaps, the disciples’ lack of prayer was the result of self-confidence. Think about it: When do we usually pray? We pray when we are in trouble. If things are going reasonably well, if the bills are paid, if our health is good, if there are no problems on the horizon—at least that we are aware of—we may not pray all that much. But when a crisis hits, when problems come, we start praying. And that is fine. It has been said that if your knees…

Self-examination (Be Like Your Heavenly Father)

Self-examination (Be Like Your Heavenly Father)

We need to set examples for others to follow. In the Bible, all leadership in the kingdom of God is portrayed by example. When Jesus trained His disciples, He not only taught lessons but actually displayed the will of God in His actions, words and relationships. In order to lead in this manner, Jesus had to personally examine His heart and keep His mind, spirit and attitude in check. If you really desire harmony in your home, always start with yourself by first examining your heart, thereby, like Jesus, keeping your mind, spirit, and attitude in check. Remember, Jesus taught: “He that is without sin… let him first cast a stone…” (John 8:7). Self-examination is the start of all harmony. If we start with ourselves, we will be less likely to see the faults of others.

Our Love Will Be Tested

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

Read: Genesis 22:1-2

Not only is love expensive, it may also undergo a trial. If you don’t believe this, ask Abraham. At a time, Abraham was torn between his promised child Isaac and God. It became inevitable for God to test whether he still loved Him (Genesis 22:1-2). Whether you like it or not, your love for God will be tested. Usually it would be based on someone or something you really love. Isaac was about 15 years before the test. Abraham…

1Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?
2Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
4Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God

Get in God’s will, and stay in it!

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and
no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept
my word, and hast not denied my name.

Revelation 3:8

God is expecting us not only to keep His Word written for us but also to
keep the Word that He has spoken to us. That is why you can’t just walk
away. You can’t say, “I don’t want to do this anymore. Those people
made me mad. I am tired of it.”

Let me tell you. Whatever God sent you to do, He expects you to do that
until He tells you otherwise. I don’t care what happens. God didn’t
find out something all of a sudden. God knew the future before you
found it out. In fact, He knew it before…

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest

Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

MATTHEW 11:20-30

Yokes were made of wood with two hollowed out sections on the bottom portion that rested on the necks of oxen, which used to plow or to draw a cart. Figuratively, a yoke symbolized servitude or submission. Jesus is admonishing us to submit ourselves to Him, for true rest comes from serving Him – not ourselves.

A new ox was often trained for plowing or drawing a cart by…

There are only two kingdoms: Fear and FAITH. If you are walking in fear you are not in faith. Faith in God will cause the impossible to manifest in your life. Faith says that “it will happen” while fear says, “it will never happen.”

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews

As a child, our focus is pretty set on ourselves. When we’re infants, we cry because we want to eat. When we are toddlers, our vocabulary consists mainly of the word ‘mine’. As a school age child, we wrestle with wanting to fit in or be in the right crowd. While as adults we may struggle with some of the same issues, we begin looking outside ourselves and begin noticing the needs of others. As followers of Christ, this is simply a part of life.

You need to believe that God’s blessing will cause you to have
abundance. If you do these practical things that are in line with God’s

Every day, get up and confess what God is doing to your finances.
Confess how His blessing is on your life and how it is making you rich.
Confess how God is sending men your way to give unto you good measure,
