Be fruitful

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3

Part of the characteristics of a living thing is reproduction and growth. A christen reproduces by winning souls and ought to grow in fellowship with and in service to the LORD. This is what it means to bear fruits. The Lord is not happy with any part of His body that bears no fruit; He says such will eventually be cut off (John 15:2). But the Lord does not desire for any part of His to be cut off hence he sends this warning: Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die. For I have not found thy works perfect before God. (Revelation 3:2)

Gossip

Troublemakers listen to troublemakers…(Proverbs 17:4)

The moment somebody begins to gossip stop them and ask, “Why do I need to know this? Have you talked to the person you’re talking about? Wise up; people who gossip can’t be trusted! The Bible says that when you listen to gossip you are a troublemaker: “Troublemakers listen to troublemakers.” And Jude adds: “These are the people who divide you, people whose thoughts are only of this world….” (Jude v 19). Those are serious charges. And the internet has only made the problem worse because now you can spread gossip faster and wider, and remain anonymous while you are doing it. Paul speaks about those who “devour one another…(and your whole fellowship)…” (Galatians 5:15 AMP). He says they should be avoided and disciple. When was the last time you saw that happen in church? Solomon said, “A gossip reveals secrets…

You can overcome that temptation. You can stand out

English: Resurrection of Christ

You can overcome that temptation. You can stand out

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 1:14

In his letter to the church in Sardis, after stating their terrible state, the Lord stated that there were a few of them who were undefiled who would walk with Him. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Revelation 3:4

As horrible as Sardis was, there were a few people who held on to their faith in Christ. One revelation you need to hold unto from this is that: Your faith in Christ can triumph even in the most sinful era ever possible to man. No matter the temptations or levels of corruption around you; no matter the pressure you are faced…

The Power Of Communion

The Power Of Communion
by Pastor Dony McGuire & Dr. Paul Graden

Last   month, Dr. Paul Graden brought us a wonderful teaching at our Sunday Worship   Celebration on the concepts and power of communion. He shared a somewhat lost   principle of the early church, in that they shared communion daily, often   multiple times a day, in their homes with those who were coming into   “the faith” as well as those who were already in “the faith.” I’ve   taken some of his teachings and broken them down in an attempt to awaken us   to some fresh realities about this all-important ordinance of our faith.

In that   time, communion typically took place prior to a meal and was preceded by a   “blessing,” much like Jesus blessed the bread before He broke it at   the Last Supper. The apostles devoted themselves to…

Worship is a heartfelt response that comes from an understanding of who God is, and what He’s done for us

Worship is a heartfelt response that comes from an understanding of who God is, and what He’s done for us.

Daddy I wish he could have heard me.

That’s what my daughter said to me after church Saturday night.

She was told that a famous singer and recording artist had been there.

She said, “If only I could have met him, he might have hooked me up with a recording deal.”

I laughed a little (on the inside) when I thought about the ramifications of this statement.

To think that at eight years old, my daughter thought she had already missed her big opportunity.

Our Big Opportunity

I think we’ve all felt this way at one time or another… especially when it comes to our worship.

Many times, we’re focused on the people around us.

We want them to hear us sing. We want them to see us…

Colossians 1:3

READ:Colossians 1:3-14

It’s easy to develop a critical spirit toward people who are not growing spiritually according to our expectations. We can easily spot areas of concern that need correction, but we also need to take note of what’s right. In his letters, Paul often needed to correct churches, but he also celebrated what was good.

In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, for example, he mentioned that the gospel had taken root and was producing fruit in the lives of the believers there (1:6). He celebrated them by directing his thanksgiving toward God for their spiritual growth. They had come to know Jesus and now were struggling against the false teachers (2:6-8). He thanked the Lord for their deep and abiding love for all the saints and for…

A Sword, Stars, Candlesticks And The Seven Churches

And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword:
and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength…. The
mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the
seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the
seven churches.

Revelation 1:15-16, 20

Imagine that you are John and you are doing your best to describe what
you’re looking at! He sees a number of things: seven golden
candlesticks, referring to the churches; and seven stars, referring to
angels. The purpose of the candlestick is to…

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

Resurrection of Christ

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

James 4:7 says: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Fear comes from the devil. On the flip side blessing, increase, promotion, success, and breakthroughs come from God. I encourage you to resist fear. Resist its dominion over your thoughts, words, and actions because God says that when you resist fear (a manifestation of the devil), it will flee.

Make fear flee!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God Will Share His Glory With No Man

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

God will share His glory with no man

We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18).

God will share His glory with no man. If you are not passionately pursuing the glory of God, He is not hanging out with you because He won’t share His glory. The reason He has saved you, the reason He elected you, the reason you are a child of God is to make you part of the community of people called the church, which exists for His glory alone.

We are dealing with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the Creator of the universe, and we just give Him the leftovers in our lives. We are reluctant to adjust…

In need of deliverance?

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (John 15:2)

As seen in Revelation 3:8 and according to 2 Corinthians 12:9, if your strength is small but Jesus is with you, you will achieve more than the fellow who has greater strength but lacks His backing. When God backs you, He will make things easy for you. In addition, if He is the One who opened that door for you, no matter what the enemies do, they will not be able to shut it. God can open to you the door of missionary opportunity. From the example of Apostle Paul, while at Ephesus, the Lord opened opportunities to win souls to Him…

The Secret Things Belong Unto The Lord Our God

The Secret Things Belong Unto The Lord Our God

The secret things belong unto the Lord Our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 29:29)

One Bible character who had access to great revelations through the help of the Holy Spirit was Ezekiel.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, Ezekiel 37:1

The children of Israel at this point in time were groaning under Babylonian captivity. They saw themselves as withered away and having no hope (Ezekiel 37:11). It took Ezekiel’s being in the Spirit, and connecting with the Holy Spirit to discover what God had in store for them; to help them…

When you follow Christ, it is what you seek you will get

When you follow Christ, it is what you seek you will get

And when He was entered into a ship, His disciples followed him (Matthew 8:2)

In today’s reading, our Lord Jesus Christ was thronged round about by a crowd as was their custom. We can learn some salient truths from this account. First, many people have different reasons for following the Lord, most of which are selfish. He directly confronted some of such seekers:

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled (John 6:26)

They were part of the five thousand who were fed with five barley loaves and two fishes. They were not thrilled by the miracle, but by the fact that they came hungry and He gave them food to eat…

Jesus Is Our Help In Time Of Trouble

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

Jesus H. Christ

Jesus Is Our Help In Time Of Trouble

In the 5th chapter of John, Jesus went to the pool at Bethesda. There were multitudes lying there, but Jesus focused on one man who was crippled. Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” Before this bold statement, Jesus asked the man if he wanted to be made whole. He said, “Of course, but I have no one to help me.” There are many crippling things in life that affect us because we do not have the help of man. There are many other things we face that, even if we had the help of man, we could never overcome them. Men are great helpers. Women are great helpers. But often what we face in life only God can give us the strength, counsel, wisdom, and provision to make it through. Jesus helped…

READ:Zechariah 3:1-5

I have removed your iniquity from you. —Zechariah 3:4

The Devil and Daniel Webster” is a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet. In it, Jabez Stone, a New England farmer, has such “bad luck” that he sells his soul to the devil to become prosperous. Eventually, the devil comes to collect Jabez’s debt. But the eminent lawyer Daniel Webster is called in to defend him. Through a skillful series of arguments, Webster wins the case against the devil, and Jabez is saved from perdition.

Of course, this tale is only fiction. But the Bible records a vision in which Satan accuses a believer before the Divine Judge. Joshua, a high priest, stands before God. As a picture of his personal sin and guilt, the priest is dressed in filthy…

Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet (He forgave their sin before they even committed it. He offered mercy before they even sought it)

It has been a long day. Jerusalem is packed with Passover guests, most of whom clamor for a glimpse of the Teacher. The spring sun is warm. The streets are dry. And the disciples are a long way from home. A splash of cool water would be refreshing.

The disciples enter [the room], one by one, and take their places around the table. On the wall hangs a towel, and on the floor sits a pitcher and a basin. Any one of the disciples could volunteer for the job, but not one does.

After a few moments, Jesus stands and removes his outer garment. He wraps a servant’s girdle around his waist, takes up the basin, and kneels before one of the disciples. He unlaces a…
