Part of the characteristics of a living thing is reproduction and growth. A christen reproduces by winning souls and ought to grow in fellowship with and in service to the LORD. This is what it means to bear fruits. The Lord is not happy with any part of His body that bears no fruit; He says such will eventually be cut off (John 15:2). But the Lord does not desire for any part of His to be cut off hence he sends this warning: Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die. For I have not found thy works perfect before God. (Revelation 3:2)

Gossip

Troublemakers listen to troublemakers…(Proverbs 17:4)

The moment somebody begins to gossip stop them and ask, “Why do I need to know this? Have you talked to the person you’re talking about? Wise up; people who gossip can’t be trusted! The Bible says that when you listen to gossip you are a troublemaker: “Troublemakers listen to troublemakers.” And Jude adds: “These are the people who divide you, people whose thoughts are only of this world….” (Jude v 19). Those are serious charges. And the internet has only made the problem worse because now you can spread gossip faster and wider, and remain anonymous while you are doing it. Paul speaks about those who “devour one another…(and your whole fellowship)…” (Galatians 5:15 AMP). He says they should be avoided and disciple. When was the last time you saw that happen in church? But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 1:14

In his letter to the church in Sardis, after stating their terrible state, the Lord stated that there were a few of them who were undefiled who would walk with Him. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Revelation 3:4

As horrible as Sardis was, there were a few people who held on to their faith in Christ. One revelation you need to hold unto from this is that: Your faith in Christ can triumph even in the most sinful era ever possible to man. No matter the temptations or levels of corruption around you; no matter the pressure you are faced…

She was told that a famous singer and recording artist had been there.

She said, “If only I could have met him, he might have hooked me up with a recording deal.”

I laughed a little (on the inside) when I thought about the ramifications of this statement.

To think that at eight years old, my daughter thought she had already missed her big opportunity.

It’s easy to develop a critical spirit toward people who are not growing spiritually according to our expectations. We can easily spot areas of concern that need correction, but we also need to take note of what’s right. In his letters, Paul often needed to correct churches, but he also celebrated what was good.

In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, for example, he mentioned that the gospel had taken root and was producing fruit in the lives of the believers there (1:6). Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

James 4:7 says: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Fear comes from the devil. On the flip side blessing, increase, promotion, success, and breakthroughs come from God. I encourage you to resist fear. Resist its dominion over your thoughts, words, and actions because God says that when you resist fear (a manifestation of the devil), it will flee.

As seen in Revelation 3:8 and according to 2 Corinthians 12:9, if your strength is small but Jesus is with you, you will achieve more than the fellow who has greater strength but lacks His backing. When God backs you, He will make things easy for you. In addition, if He is the One who opened that door for you, no matter what the enemies do, they will not be able to shut it.
