“And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.” — 2 Kings 2:14
Elisha found himself standing alone when he was used to being with his leader. His faith, provision, and victories were all based on the faith and actions of his leader. But one day he had to trust the God of his leader. He had to look to God for himself. This is exactly where He wants us—looking to Him for our needs and desires every day—not waiting for some special blessing to fall from someone else.
Where is the Lord God? He is right here with you…He is always with you. He said: “…I am with you always…” (Matt 28:20). Who or what…

What do you think about when you see yourself? In the mirror, in a photograph, wherever. What goes through your mind?
This question popped into my head just the other day. I started this exercise where I practice being truly present with my thoughts/feelings with something in particular. And I said “Be truly honest. Stop the mental chatter and just look at yourself. What do you feel?”
This helped me to see where I limit myself. It helped me to see where I’m strong. It helped me to see where I’m vain. It helped me to see where I’m insecure. And it is good to self reflect so that you can better and more confidently walk about through life with a greater assuredness of who you are and how you impact others, even on a subconscious level.
I choose to see myself as clearly as I am able so that…

Daughters of promise
My heart is broken
I crafted you in the beauty of
Womanhood
I forged you in the fires of
Motherhood
You I made
***
QUEEN
***
of the earth
Mother of all things living
to you I gave the voice of compassion
to man I gave you as companion
I have lifted you up
Crowned you
And made you the crown
I have filled you with all good things
There is no lack in you
Because there is no lack in me
Yet you seek
When I am ever present
I father you in your weakness
I husband you in your despair
When you are broken in my hands
I make you again
WHOLE
You have but to ask
I desire that you desire me
Still you seek
When I am ever present
Daughters of Promise
My heart is broken

There are three days remaining to get eligible for my all-inclusive Ozark getaway at Tranquility Base.
Three days, two nights, all meals, world-class fishing, golf, Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum, Sunday Brunch, Friday BBQ Feast, Folk music on the Square. All the hospitality you can stand.
I was recently encouraged, by this year’s graduating class. I graduated four years ago and like some near my age, and probably older as well, I have—not necessarily doubts—but concerns and fears for the upcoming generations. I know what it’s like for them; I’m still going through it. I also realise that a lot of the future depends on them; that’s what everybody tells me.
So this year was good. Our pastor tried something new: the day after our homeschool graduation every grad came to the front of the church and, as a group, answered every question anyone wanted to ask them. Some of them they may not have done too well on, (“Do you clean your room?”) but one was a blessing. Now, the day before, almost every one of them said something to the effect that they put their parents through a lot while growing up and going through school. But when asked if they would homeschool their own children, all nine of them said “Yes”, several emphatically so. They weren’t asked about family size, but if they were I’m sure each of them would say it is totally up to God.
I know those two questions aren’t really the “most pressing” ones and they don’t cover everything, but they are areas that are increasingly under attack, more expensive, and make a difference. This just shows that when you surrender to God’s will and do your best to follow and serve Him through that with joy, your children are likely to catch the vision. They will see that it is worth it even though it will cost. It was good to hear.

I know it seems like forever since I have written anything. It feels that way to me too. Still, keeping up with what was happening with my daughter and myself and trying to work has been almost more than I could handle. Some days I said, “Lord, are you sure you have the right person here, to accomplish all this?” But He says I am to stay the course.
So here we are just before my daughter found out about her cancer last year. She and her husband had just married Labor Day weekend. What a joyous occasion that was for both families-close and extended! I am so proud of my daughter! She is a very strong woman. She has gone through the chemotherapy and the radiation and the surgery like a trooper. All of it was really horrendous. Most breast cancer survivors never share the nitty gritty of…

Hong Kong & Beyond: Bite into the World
Here are some of my top picks for adventures in Turkey. With all the time I have spent in Turkey, these are some of my favorite things to do. Don’t miss these world class destinations! (They are more affordable than you think!)
1. Hot air balloon ride in Kapadokya above the ferry chimneys & stay in a cave.
Kapadokya is a world premier destination for hot air ballooning, and with its incredible landscape, hot air ballooning here is breathtaking. From inspiring the book Dune to George Lucas’ Star Wars, the landscape of Kapadokya leaves you perplexed and intrigued, if not obsessed.
Head to Kapadokya, stay in Goreme in a UNESCO world heritage cave hotel. My mom and I enjoy staying in Anatolia Cave Hotel because it’s affordable, a great place with excellent service, and they also have amazing complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was actually one of the best…

Part 3 of the Surrender Series
Ephesians 4:22-23 “..Put off the former conversation of the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.“
I have likened the frustrating struggle to let go of what I desperately need to rid myself of, to the well-worn trail that meandered through my grandparent’s back back yard all the way down to the gate leading into the chicken yard. My grandma always fed the feral cats that roamed freely on their farm. Even when the grass was long overdue for a mow, the one path that every single cat took to get down to the food bowl was ALWAYS visible. It began at the foot of the back porch steps, snaked alongside the old well, continued beneath the rusty…

I’m sure that many of you will remember my interview with Sarah Smith, Business Correspondent for Channel Four News last November, a snippet on camera as I sought to help expose the truly immoral practice of Global Personals, an online dating company that I had previously worked for. On the back of that appearance I spoke live to an audience on an Irish radio breakfast show, answering questions and giving my opinion on internet dating and advice on how people really do need to be very careful and vigilant when signing up to these types of websites.
Six months later and you’d be forgiven if you thought that things had come to an end, particularly as you haven’t heard much about it from me since. If that was your assumption, then you’d be wrong, very wrong. My fight for justice on behalf of tens of thousands of consumers is only just beginning.

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.

I remember when I was a new nurse graduate, every day I went to work and the entire car ride I would pray “just don’t kill anyone.”

I have many times in vain tried to teach my children the difference between needs and wants. Most often these lessons have come in the form of physical items such as toys, presents, clothes or sometimes even dessert.
It has always been a relatively easy differentiation for me to see from the object related needs vs wants and how I or my children really do not need anything but that we want it.
As I have explored lately some of my deepest emotional needs that I have carried throughout my life, many brought on from childhood events and experiences and at time the intense feelings of rejection and loneliness and the emotional need this has created within me.
I need to feel wanted, loved, and accepted. I need a hug, time and attention when I am down discouraged or feeling those intense feelings of solitude or loneliness that seem…

Leaked BBC footage of the Foster/O’Neill kickabout at a girls’ soccer training session in Cookstown last week has earned her a spot of bother after it showed her soloing the ball before knocking it over the bar and announcing ‘take your points and the goals will come, eh O’Neill?’.
DUP members are said to be livid after an insider leaked the full footage which wasn’t shown on their news bulletins. The video also picked up Foster commenting that ‘Ricey could be doing with me the year’, an obvious reference to her beloved Fermanagh GAA manager Ryan Ricey McMenamin.
An anonymous moustached DUP member from Belfast fumed:
“Listen I’ve done some silly things in my time but even taking off all your clothes and cavorting in a field isn’t on the same scandalous level of thinking you’re the next Peter Canavan and you the DUP leader. Although she took her point…

SAMUEL ARIMORO SERMONS & TEACHINGS (+2348037640583)
INTRODUCTION:
The writer of Proverbs tells us that “God hates the proud look” and that
“There is more hope for a fool than a man who is wise in his own conceit.”
Think about it, “Do you want God to look at you and see something He hates.” No! Well, He hates a proud look. A proud look is the facial expression that proceeds from a proud heart.
Think about it, “Do you want God to look at your life and see something that will cause Him to resist you?” No! Well, the Word of God says, God resist the proud!
The problem with PRIDE is its middle letter. It is the self-centered life. It is the “Big Me” and “Little You” type of thinking. So in this message I want to make you hate the thing that God hates. The way I am going to attempt to do that…
