HAVE FAITH, by VERNON BROWN

Unknown's avatarInmate Blogger

THERE COMES A TIME IN LIFE,
WHEN THINGS DON’T GO OUR WAY.
AND IT SEEMS NO MATTER WHAT WE DO,
UNHAPPINESS WANTS TO STAY.
THE CLOUDS CONCEAL THE SUN,
THE RAIN FALLS FROM THE SKY.
SURRONDED BY THE COLDNESS,
ASKING OURSELVES WHY.
JUST WHEN WE FEEL THAT HOPE IS GONE,
WITH NOTHING ELSE TO DO.
THE SUN BLASTS THROUGH THOSE CLOUDS,
AND A RAY OF LIGHT SHINES THROUGH.

THE SAME IS TRUE WITH FAITH,
IF YOU STAND FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE.
WITH GOD, ALL IS POSSIBLE…
AND THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN’T ACHIEVE.

WAGES OF SIN.

The winds are steadily blowing as if to tear the whole neighborhood apart so you could see the whole flight of birds scattering to a more thought safer shelter one after the other. My two year old nephew points up to the sky where miscellaneous makes of plastic bags swirl in circles creating what seems like alien hawks calculating the distance separating them from their prey. The gods from Olympus are about to commence this event but first they have to accompany the harmony of the spheres with the loud banging of their drums amid flashes of light that spread all across the dark grey horizon. You could feel like you miss the days when the sun used to scorch and torment, boiling the sweat on the scalps of our head.Nature today was evil and sick of the way we treated its organs,is nature vengeful?God said everything he created was good, where did evil slither…

Governor Karl F. Rolvaag

Karl F. Rolvaag: Governors of Minnesota. collections.mnhs.org

March 25, 1963-January 21, 1967
After the one hundred thirty-nine day recount, Lieutenant Governor Rolvaag becomes the thirty-first Governor of Minnesota by just 91 votes. Governing on principle more than charisma, this disciplined leader effectively changed: the junior college system, reapportioned legislative districts, and improved mental institutions. He had the distinction of being the first to serve a four year gubernatorial term. *

Few politicians of this era had more authentic bragging rights as to their Minnesota roots than Karl. Let’s recount a few that would deeply resonate with any Midwesterner of this age:
Karl was born in Northfield, MN. in 1913, and attended St. Olaf.
His father was the iconic Norwegian novelist of “Giants in the Earth”; Ole Rolvaag.
He dropped out of university the year his father passed, 1931, to “head out west”.
He spent six years as a railway “hobo”…

God Knows!

elizamakaira's avatarEliza Makaira

God is so, so good! He has always spoken to me through music, and the words in music, and this morning, after praying and asking for prayers God would reveal His work and leading in my life, He sent me the song “Reason” by Unspoken. The words, but even more so, the images in this video were confirmation He sees me, my desire to fly, and my failed attempts. He is my loving Father, picking me up when I fail, and loving me through it all. He protects me when I am on the verge of going too far outside of His will for my life. When I am ready to give up, he takes my defeat and my hope out of the trash bin and helps me to fly again. Not only this, but He joins me in flight, and others are inspired to fly by my example and…

. . . You of little faith . . .

you of little faithMatthew 14:22–31 (NIV)

Jesus Walks on the Water

14:22–33pp—Mk 6:45–51; Jn 6:16–21
14:34–36pp—Mk 6:53–56

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

It was Saturday afternoon when my kids and husband were taking afternoon nap and I was sipping a cup of hot coffee at the window glancing at the snowflakes outside. Such moments are rare when I get time for myself as generally during these hours I cook dinner or finish my office pile ups. Luckily, we had dinner planned at friends place so it was a no cooking day for me and I was at leisure.

It was not the usual day for me, I was quite depressed since morning as I got angry on the tiny human beings whom I made. I tried to be patient but somehow nothing worked and I lost it totally. Honestly, I was agitated with another reason that was pinching me inside and I exploded my anger on the mini me’s. Unfair, I know! But whatever happened could not be undone but that made…

SMALL THINGS MATTER

Maeskyperocho's avatarJust Give me JESUS

In view of this global health challenge that people around the world are experiencing, I stumble upon a pondered question which titled this subject blog today.

With our day to day tasks that seems unending and in cycle, I wonder if people see their small things in life as important.

I remember the story in the Bible of the little boy who had five loaves and two fishes that was when offered to Jesus were used to miraculously fed 5,000 men (aside from women and children that time). That little lunch in the hands of Jesus turned out to be a huge blessing to all.

For some with little patience in themselves, small things seems something that must be done immediately now. So they became anxious when something in their lives appears to be not bearing fruit they want to see in them.

But time after time, in the Bible…

How to be an inspiration? Do you have to be very successful to be considered as an inspiration? Do you need to be professional to be an inspiration? Do you need to be famous to be an inspiration?

Anybody can be an inspiration.

Sometimes, people tend to be more specific with the things that they want and things that they need only because they see it from others that they consider as inspirations. But if you come to take a look at the deeper side of each person’s perspective in life, you can actually consider them as an inspiration, not because of how they look but how they manage their good deeds…

Be an inspiration, do what is right and you will be a blessing to others…

DEAR CHRISTIANS, HAVE WE MISSED IT?

Christian Derby Hanson's avatarTHE-BORN-TO-WIN MANDATE

Could it be that we begin to ask questions upon questions, get anxious, doubt, and judge our future with our present circumstances and challenges because we haven’t walked into a great reality in our walk with God?

What is this great reality that I am pointing your mind and heart to? It is the REALITY OF THE REALM OF CHRIST JESUS! The life-giving Spirit! The reality of the Spirit! The reality of an atmosphere and environment where the mind and thoughts of men amount to nothing. That dimension is not captured with our intellectualism neither is it captured with our natural perception, feelings, and judgments. The function of natural sight cannot capture this reality. This reality is captured and trapped by the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NKJV)

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God…

MOVE ON – – from grief

Akanksha's avatarAkanksha's Blog

Move-On-From-Grief-Blogyou-cannot-out-run-griefWhen in my bad phase,
I am advised to move on,
I don’t know what to respond,
But, today I want to ask.
Have you ever thought?
Why I prefer to stop?

I want to live the moments,
Which for you are history.
I want to stay stuck there,
And it may sound you like a mystery.
The fact is I want to re-live those moments,
I want to cherish those happy times.

To move ahead,
One needs a path,
A way, A direction,
A motive, A target,
A purpose, A desire,
To reach a destination.

But my journey is now over,
From the moment I was born,
You stood by me Mom,
Now, when you are gone,
I have stopped to the point,
Where you last stood by me.

I don’t want to move forward,
For the fear of getting lost.
All I can see ahead is darkness,
And…

Making a mistake doesn’t make you a mistake #stopbeatingyourselfup

DEEMERZION Family's avatarDEEMERZION

I remember the days when I would beat myself up over mistakes saying things such as; “you did it again! You will never get anything right! Here we go again you looser!”. Oh how cruel I was to myself, yet how graceful I was when someone else made a mistake saying something like: “it’s okay, just try again. Don’t beat yourself up over it. Don’t let that mistake make you think you are a failure”. Oh, how hypercritical was I!

Why do people have the tendancy to be so harsh on themselves? What are we expecting from our own performance, perfection? We need to learn to love our whole selves, not just the parts that we feel good about. This is not easy, it almost seems natural for us to point out our flaws, but when it comes to speaking about our strengths we shy away, sometimes in the name…

•Save yourself from laziness, procrastination, the killer of our dreams push through fear, doubt and move towards God’s purposes for your life. •Don’t live life regretting what you have not done but live knowing you are playing the game with purpose.
