God loves to hear us pray

James 5:16 says: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Here the Bible tells us that the prayer of a righteous man can change things. In a story related in the passage of scripture that follows this verse you can read about Elijah, who was a man of like passion such as you and I are. He was an ordinary man facing things in life – family issues, hardships, ups and downs, persecutions, lack, needs, fears, and shortcomings. And yet when he prayed, God moved and shut up the heavens for 3 ½ years. He then prayed again, and God opened the heavens with rain. This shows us that our prayer lives, because we are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, are able to touch Heaven and apprehend heavenly influence upon earthly things. Whether it is the call of the land to be changed, the call of the seasons to be changed, or whatever you need, you have the honour, because of righteousness, to be positioned with God to change earthly things.

God is listening to you!

Jesus Will!

The Bible reveals to us that what Jesus says to one, He says to all. He is not a respecter of persons, and He does not change. His answer to one person is His answer to all people. In Matthew 8:1-4 there was a leper, and he came to Jesus for help. He told Jesus what he believed when he said, “If You will, You can make me clean.” The man believed Jesus had unlimited power. He believed nothing was impossible for Jesus. He believed Jesus was God‘s Son, and he believed whatever Jesus said would come to pass. He would have obeyed and done whatever Jesus told him to do. The only question this man had was “Will you?” He did not question the power or ability of Jesus, but he was unsure of His willingness.

Jesus settled the willingness question forever when He responded, “I will. Be clean.” What Jesus said to this man is what He will say to you in every situation. Jesus is willing. If you ask Him, “Will you help me?”, His answer will be, “I will.” If you ask, “Will you lead me?”, His answer will be, “I will.” If you ask, “Will you resolve this issue?”, He will say, “I will.” If you ask, “Will you stir me?”, you will hear, “I will.” If like this man you wonder, “Will you heal me?”, you will discover, “I will.” When you accept that it is God’s will to fulfil every promise and to do for you what He’s done for multitudes of others, then you will set yourself up for a miracle. Now, all you have to do is what the leper did – just mix faith with and act on the Word of God. God is waiting and His answer is, “I will.”

He will!

True Christianity; The Revelation of Eternal life!

 

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God (1 John 5:13)

Sometimes, we hear people say that Christianity is one of the great religions of the world. As a result, they refer to one who is a Christian as a religious person. But Christianity is not a religion. There’s absolutely nothing religious about Christianity. True Christianity, first of all, is the revelation of eternal life. True Christianity means that an eternal God has taken up His abode in the quarters of a man’s spirit.

True Christianity is not a way of worship, nor is it a way of serving God. It is the pulsating life of God in a human person. It is a living relationship with a living God. When you’re in a relationship with someone, that’s not religion! Someone once said, “I want to become more religious, so I think I should become a Christian!” no. that’s an out-and-out misnomer and a complete misunderstanding of who a Christian is. A Christian is one who is indwelt by divinity.

When you become a Christian, it means eternal life has been imparted into your spirit. It means you’ve embraced the grace, glory and power of God that dispel darkness, sickness, disease, poverty, failure and everything the devil brings. It means you’ve embraced the beauty of divinity. It means you’ve become a partaker of the divine nature – you become a God-carrying vessel. No wonder the Bible says concerning Christians, “Ye are God’s Temple” (2 Corinthians 6:16). No wonder only those who are born again are truly Christians (John 3:3-7).

So, when you say you’re a Christian, it means God has fully tabernacle in you! You’ve become His living headquarters; He looks through your eyes and walks with your legs because you’ve become His vessel. You’ve become the one in whom God dwells; that’s true Christianity: God Almighty taking up His abode in the quarters of your heart, imparting your human spirit with eternal life – His life and nature.

Confession:

 

 

 

 

I’m a carrier of divine life; I have the life and nature of God in me because I’m born again. Therefore, my life is not ordinary. Sickness, disease, infirmities, failure, lack and everything of darkness are not a part of God’s provision for my life, Hallelujah! Amen!

Be set free

In Mark 1:23-26 there is a story about a demoniac, a man who was imprisoned by the devil. He was totally demon possessed until he met Jesus. When we think of demon possession, we know the person has been possessed by the devil, and we think of the devil as having ownership over a life. This is true, but often the things leading up to demon possession are not considered or recognized.

There are things that come by mere thoughts, things the devil brings to a person’s mind that may go largely unnoticed. The person accepts the thoughts, even thinking the thoughts are their own, and the thoughts are not dealt with. The thoughts turn into a habit, and the habit turns into an obsession, and the obsession turns into a bondage, an addiction, a prison, and even a possession. There are many little things the devil uses to build places where he may launch an attack for the purpose of controlling a life.

This is why the Bible tells us to constantly judge ourselves to make sure we are staying in the faith. We need to look around and see if there are areas where the devil has crept into our lives or our homes. Look at your conversation. Is the devil there? How about your thoughts? Has he gained an entrance? Wherever you find weakness, you as a believer have authority over the devil. You have everything it takes to withstand him and be successful in your warfare against him. Rise up. Refuse to be defeated, and be set free

Whenever a believer speaks in tongues, he charges up his spirit like a battery!

Whenever a believer speaks in tongues, he charges up his spirit like a battery. This kind of charging can be described as quick charging. Long charging requires fasting, careful planning, and prayer but if you need a quick charge, all you have to do is to speak in tongues. If you were going for an interview and discovered you were feeling nervous, just begin to speak in tongues. Very shortly you will be turned to another man. The Bible says “He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself” (1 Corinthians 14:4).

Speaking in tongues is a sign. It is the rest with which the weary is caused to rest. It’s possible for a believer to think he has a lot of problems to pray about and if he doesn’t mention all them, God wouldn’t know. God knows your heart and also knows about all the crises you face.  When you yield your tongue to the Holy Spirit, you’ll speak mysteries about those things. You’ll release spiritual missiles from your spirit because He says out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38). Keep on speaking in tongues!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father! I thank You for giving me the ability to speak in other tongues. I take advantage of it today by charging myself and causing changes in the realm of the spirit, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Go for God’s kind of knowledge!

 

A hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. (Proverbs 11:9).

 

 

 

 

In Matthew 22:29, Jesus said “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures…..” He’s letting us know that the reason people make mistakes and go wrong in their choices and action is their ignorance of God’s Word. Those who lack accurate and relevant spiritual information from God’s Word have unwittingly programmed themselves for failure in life.

A man’s problem is not anything but what he doesn’t know. In other words, your limitation in life is your lack of relevant and accurate knowledge of God’s Word; for when you get to know, that knowledge delivers you. Knowledge is power! I’m talking about knowledge of God’s Word. The Bible says through it, shall the just be delivered; not from trouble, or from the devil but into their inheritance. Your problem is not the devil; it’s your ignorance and lack of knowledge!

This is the reason you find some Christians who are sick and diseased in their physical bodies, or those who are broke financially and suffering terribly. It’s not because the devil is powerful, for he is not. It is the result of their ignorance of God’s Word. The Bible never said God’s people perish because the devil is powerful, but “For the lack of knowledge”  (Hosea 4:6). Ignorance is the reason many of God’s children are living below their calling.

Everything you’ll ever need in your life is wrapped up in the Word; therefore go for the Word. Study the Bible; listen to God’s Word all the time; your success, promotion, increase, progress and prosperity all depend on it. Inundate your spirit and bombard your mind with the knowledge of the Scriptures on a daily basis and watch your life grow from glory to glory and from success to success!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that You daily grant me understanding and insight into Your will, purpose and plans as I study Your Word. Flood my heart with wisdom and cause my progress to be obvious to all as I study Your Word daily to imbibe divine knowledge in Christ Jesus, Amen!

Fight the good fight of faith

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12)

Throughout the New Testament Scriptures, the only fight we’re told to fight is the good fight of faith; and the Bible clearly states that it’s a good fight. This means it’s a worthy fight to be fought; more so, we’re on the winning side.

The flesh, the world and its systems, the devil and his cohorts have all been overcome for us by our LORD Jesus Christ. Now the only thing left for you to do is to appropriate all that Christ has accomplished on your behalf. This means that you see what He has given you and hold on to them in spite of everything that your physical senses can otherwise perceive. This is the fight of faith. It is the fight you face when you stand on God’s Word and refuse to observe anything contrary.

Let me explain further with this illustration: someone has been healed through the power of the Word of God, but somehow, he begins to feel some familiar symptoms in his body. Then the devil begins to taunt him saying “Are you really sure you’re healed? If you were healed, why are you feeling those pains? You’re still sick; why don’t you just admit it and stop deceiving yourself.”

Thoughts like this are missiles the devil fires at your mind, and Paul says in Ephesians 6:16 that you quench them with the shield of faith. This is where the fight of faith comes in, and God expects you to fight it because it’s a good fight. He has assured you of the victory!

If the symptoms ever come back, all you have to do is say, “I was healed in the Name of Jesus Christ and I remain healed!”  (1 Peter 2:24). When you talk like that, you wouldn’t be testifying to your feelings but to the Word of God. The Bible says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Resist the devil with your faith-filled words and he will necessarily flee. That’s your victory in the fight of faith!

Confession:

I walk by faith and not by what I see, feel, or hear. I cannot be discouraged or defeated, because the Holy Spirit in me is greater than the devil in the world. I am born of God and I have overcome the world and its evil system by my faith. Therefore, I take hold of my health, peace, prosperity, success, and everything that’s mine in Christ Jesus, Amen!

Christ is made unto us wisdom

 

But of Him (God) are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30)

The Bible says Christ Jesus is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

Wisdom!

“Christ is made unto us wisdom” means that Christ has become our wisdom. Therefore, we do not function with human wisdom but with an excellent wisdom. You see, a lot of Christians were never taught how to take advantage of that which Christ has made available to them. When you learn to take advantage of this excellent wisdom, you’ll always know the right thing to do.

The Bible says, “A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back” (Proverbs 26:3). The type of rod this scripture is referring to isn’t like the whip used on a horse; it’s referring to the whip of life. Many are whipped by different circumstances in life and suffer because of ignorance. They make terrible mistakes in their lives because they haven’t learnt how to take advantage of the wisdom of God. The more you put God’s Word into your spirit, the more you dig into that wisdom and avail yourself of its privileges and advantages; you’ll begin to function in it at home, in your academics, on your job, in your business, and in your finances.

A life that is void of the wisdom of God will be full of afflictions and sufferings. But when you begin to function with it, you’ll walk out of every affliction. God knows every wrong step you could take and He would guide your steps from making any of them through this wisdom. So you see, you don’t have to make the blunders anymore; you can be more certain of your choices in life. Avail yourself of that wisdom today and walk through life victoriously!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father! I thank You for anointing me with the wisdom of Christ, for as many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Teach me to apply my heart to this wisdom and also to submit to its authority in my life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The Word of God liberates men from the bondage of sin, condemnation, sickness, poverty, discouragement and failure; it is the liberating truth. However, you can only walk in the liberty that you know. You see, that a slave was set free doesn’t mean he’ll enjoy his liberty. This is because liberation begins from the mind; there must be a change in his way of thinking to have any lasting change in his lifestyle. In the same vein, though man was liberated legally from the shackles of satan more than two thousand years ago, he may not enjoy his liberty vitally until he accepts, understands and endorses the legal document that guarantees his freedom; that document is The Word of God!

It’s my pleasure to announce to you today that condemnation, sin, every form of sickness, poverty, failure, discouragement and death are no longer alive in you. Sin and death have no hold on you anymore, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). The Bible says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1), so lose yourself from the bondage of condemnation. You have been liberated from sickness, for by the stripes of Christ, you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). You are no longer “The poor trying to be rich,” because the Bible says, “For ye know the grace of our LORD Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Jesus Christ suffered, died and resurrected to give you life. There are no chains binding you anymore, for you’re born free in Christ, so get the truth and make yourself free; get to know the purpose of His suffering, death and resurrection! Always remember that “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped” (Psalm 124:7).

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, You have brought me into Your Kingdom of free men through Your Son Jesus Christ and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. I refuse to be entangled again with any yoke of bondage. Therefore, I ask that You open my eyes to Your Word and strengthen my faith thereby, so I may stand fast in the liberty that we have in Christ Jesus, Amen!

No more sleepless nights

No more sleepless nights

 

Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately (and) cares about you watchfully (1 Peter 5:7)

I believe one of the greatest things in life is to know that you are loved by God, the Creator of the universe. The Bible says He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. This world is full of troubles and you will face different challenge as long as you’re living in it. But the good news is that Jesus overcame the world for your sake (John 16:33). Therefore, you should no longer have sleepless nights over any situation in your life.

Some people find it difficult to sleep when they are confronted with challenges. Such people are oblivious to the fact that they were called into a life of rest. The Bible says, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His” (Hebrews 4:10). Jesus was mocked to the cross; He was spat on, beaten and rejected, and then He died. All these He did so that you may no longer cry. Therefore, whenever you think about the death of Jesus, always remember that He took all those pains, worries, dejection which could have given you sleepless nights. Hallelujah!

Remember that when He was praying in the garden of Gethsemane just before He was arrested, His disciples were sleeping. They awoke only after He had finished praying  (Matthew 26:45). The Bible says, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his” (Hebrews 4:10). He has given you rest and taken your sleepless night away.

1 Peter 5:7 tells you what to do when you’re faced with challenges: “Throw all your worry on Him (God), because He cares for you.” The Bible says, “It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those He loves?” (Psalm 127:2 MSG).  Therefore, never let worry or any other thing steal your rest away from you.

Confession:

I have the peace of God, therefore I dwell in rest. I refuse to be troubled by circumstances and situations, because I deal with them from a position of rest. Challenges are my nourishment and signs of my promotion. Glory to God! Amen!

He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform (Romans 4:20-21).

 

 

 

 

Do not stagger!

 

 

 

 

Abraham, the Bible says, was strong in faith; he was fully persuaded at the promise of God. You see, strong faith doesn’t stagger at the promise of God; it maintains confession in the face of overwhelming opposition.

I was privileged to read the testimony of a minister who had applied to a certain organization for a job. The personnel officer in charge said to her, “Sorry, the interview has been conducted and the management already selected the suitable candidate for the job.” “No!” the minister replied. “When I was praying, God told me I was going to get this job,” she said with confidence to the officer that was speaking with her. The management of the organization insisted there was nothing they could do to help her.

She wasn’t even sent an invitation letter for an interview; but she didn’t consider that. In spite of the fact that they already confirmed to her that the job position wasn’t vacant anymore, she didn’t consider their report. I want you to understand that she didn’t deny the fact that the interview had been conducted and the organization already gave the job to someone else but she refused to allow that fact wane or dissipate her faith. She refused to allow that fact control her believing. True to her words, the management called her in and conducted another interview for her. When they were through, they disregarded the previous selection they had made and gave her the job. Faith always works!

In your life, refuse to consider the natural circumstances or evidences that seem to war against your faith. Refuse to be moved by them. God’s Word is the evidence for your success, health, victory, progress and prosperity. It is the only true evidence you must consider. It is absolutely infallible and immutable. This is your evidence that what God says are yours, are truly yours; what God says you are, you are, and you can do what He says you can do. You can stake your life on it. Therefore, don’t stagger at the Word of God through unbelief!

Confession:

I refuse to allow the situation around me determine who I become, what I say and do. My confidence in the Word of God is unwavering and total; for the Word is guaranteed to produce the desired result; it’ll never fail! Amen!

For every one that ask receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened (Luke 11:10)

You have every right, as a child of God, to expect answers when you pray (John 15:16). But if you pray to God, doubting, you’re not going to get anything James 1:8 says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” No man can receive anything from God without faith (Hebrews 11:6)

The reason some people wouldn’t expect answers to their prayers is that they remember all their sins and failures as soon as they get on their knees to pray; they are overwhelmed by self-condemnation. Self-condemnation will destroy your faith. It’s impossible for a man to receive anything from God without faith and that means you wouldn’t be able to receive the answer to your prayer. The way out of this quagmire is to build yourself in God’s Word because you’re a spiritual babe.

The Bible says, “For every on that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe” (Hebrews 5:13). Righteousness is the nature of God that makes you stand before God without the feeling of guilt, inferiority or condemnation. If you condemn yourself incessantly, then you’re unskilled in the Word of Righteousness and as such, you’re a spiritual babe. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desires the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.” The Word of God can build you up in righteousness; “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…..” (Romans 1:17). You need to renew your mind with God’s Word and strengthen yourself in His righteousness. With this consciousness of your righteousness in Christ, you can confidently ask The Father, knowing that you’ll receive answer to your request.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly father! I thank You for giving me the opportunity to ask according to Your will, and the confidence that You will grant my request. Therefore, I ask that You cause me to work in favour today; in my job, school and home, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Proverbs 15:13 says: “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken”

 

 

 

 

Sorrow and bitterness are two things that should never be found in the life of a Christian. They could create an opening for devils to attack your mind and body. There’s something about sorrow, sadness and bitterness that attracts the devil, and he’ll take advantage of every little situation. Whenever someone is bitter or sorrowing about something, be sure of one thing; an evil spirit is waiting to get on the case. Let me expatiate with this illustration.

Put a sweet or sugary substance on the table and leave it there for a while. Before long, ants will begin to gather around and feed on the substance. Ants possess an instinctive propensity to seek out sweet things. Though you can’t tell where the ants came from they’ll surely find their way to the substance. Demons are that way as well.

Sorrow and bitterness are serious troubles that you shouldn’t take lightly. Nobody wants to be sorrowful or bitter for a long time. Therefore, when you meet someone who is persistently sorrowful and bitter, then you’ve got to realize that another force is motivating such persistence. Such a man or woman must begin to renew his or her mind with the Word of God; otherwise, he or she is headed for serious trouble.

The Bible says, “Be ye angry, and sin not; let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil” (Ephesians 4:26-27). Therefore, if you’re bitter against someone or sorrowful about an unfortunate event in your life, it’s time for you to wake up and take charge of your life with the Word of God!

You may have been sorrowing because of the loss of a loved one, I want to remind you 1 Thessalonians 4:13 says “………that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” Furthermore, give no room for bitterness in your life. The Bible says, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice” (Ephesians 4:31). Don’t give the devil a foothold in your life.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I give every hurt and pains that I may be harbouring in my heart to You. I ask that You heal every wound (physical or emotional) in my life. “Let your aim be certain and he dies,” the chief commanded. The Indian warriors took aim and fired at the last remaining officer on horseback. Round after round after round screamed toward him. Twice they shot his horse out from underneath him. Four bullets tore through his coat. Over 700 of his comrades fell around him. They retreated in utter defeat. Yet the 23 year old lieutenant colonel remained unscathed, not a single mark on his skin.
Nine days later he wrote his brother, “…by the all-powerful dispensations of Providence I have been protected beyond all human probability or expectation….”
Thirty-four more years passed and this same George Washington became the first president of the United States of America after defeating the mightiest army on the face of the planet with a band of poorly disciplined soldiers who spent most of the war retreating from the enemy.
Is it any wonder he placed his hand on a Bible opened to Deuteronomy chapter 28 when he was first sworn into office? As he looked back at his own life he clearly understood that a sovereign God rules over the affairs of men and nations.
Do you sometimes think it’s all up to you? Do you ever wonder if God is really in control? How do you think George Washington would have answered this question?

Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

 

 

 

 

 

INTRODUCTION:

The second coming of Christ prophesied by Daniel in Daniel 7:13 is a sound biblical fact. This return shall be in two stages. The first, “being like a thief in the night” to receive unto Himself His church. This is popularly called The Rapture.

May the Holy Spirit Himself guide us into all truth, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT IS THE RAPTURE?

The word, Rapture, is not found anywhere in the Bible although it is used describe this great upcoming and memorable event. The rapture is the sudden catching up or sudden disappearance of holy and faithful saints from the earth to meet with our LORD and Saviour in the air. It is also referred to as the translation or translocation of believers – 1 Thess. 4:16-17; 1 Cor. 15:51-58. Examples of such translation in the Old Testament are; Enoch Genesis 5:22-24; Hebrews 11:5 and Elijah – 2 Kings 2:11. It shall be as sudden as the twinkling of an eye – 1 Corinthians 15:52.

 

 

 

 

 

WHEN WILL THE RAPTURE TAKE PLACE?

The exact timing of the occurrence of the rapture is not known Matthew 24:42, 44; Matthew 25:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:6. We, however, know that it shall precede the tribulation – 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:12.

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE RAPTURE?

The following are to be expected at the rapture:

  1. The trumpet of God shall sound – 1 Corinthians 15:52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16.
  2. The dead in Christ shall rise first – John 5:25; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 1 Corinthians 15:23.
  3. Saints which are alive shall be “caught up” to meet our LORD in the air – 1 Thessalonians 4:17; 1 Corinthians 15:51.
  4. The dead in Christ and saints who are left shall have glorified or immortal bodies and live forever – 1 Corinthians 15:52; Philippians 3:20-21; Colossians 3:4; 1 John 3:2.
  5. There shall be extraordinary chaos here on earth – 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3; Matthew 24:40-41.

 

 

 

 

 

HOW WILL IT HAPPEN?

  1. It shall happen suddenly – 1 Corinthians 15:52; 1 Thessalonians 5:3; Matthew 24:36-41.
  2. The power of God shall make all saints’ bodies immortal – Philippians 3:21.
  3. Sudden chaos.

 

 

 

 

 

CONCLUSION:

The greatest calamity that could befall anyone who claims to be a believer is to be left behind after the rapture. Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us to be alert and ready! Mark 13:32-37.

John 11:26 “And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Some people have interpreted this as saying that it is possible to never die. Therefore, there are people today who are believing that they will live physically until the second coming of Jesus, even if that is thousands of years away. Although it is understandable how someone could interpret this verse in that manner, it is very doubtful that this is what Jesus truly meant.

First, a doctrine as profound as this would certainly be well documented in other scriptures. Other scriptures may sometimes be quoted as supporting this claim but they would not lead a person to this conclusion by themselves.

There would already have to be a prejudice in favor of this stand within a person to lead him to interpret these scriptures in this light. That is not a sound method of Bible interpretation. Also, there is not a single scriptural example of anyone who obtained this. That should make anyone suspect of this teaching. Enoch or Elijah might be cited as examples, but they were translated so that they didn’t die. They are not still in their physical bodies on this earth.

There have been periods in church history where certain truths were suppressed, such as the Baptism of the Holy Spirit or healing, and then revived through a move of God. But there was always a remnant of the church that continually experienced these blessings of God. That cannot be shown to be true with this belief that a believer can remain on the earth in his physical body until Jesus comes. Therefore, this passage of scripture concerning never dying is generally accepted as referring to our eternal life that we receive at salvation. The promise of never dying spiritually is made many times in scripture and it is promised to every believer.

INTRODUCTION

So far we have discussed what homosexuality really is, societal attitude and what the Bible says about it. Now, we shall be examining the dangers involved in homosexuality, Christian’s response to the homosexual and homosexual marriages.

 

 

 

 

 

THE DANGER INVOLVED

Unlike other sins, this sexual sin has a judgment administered by God Himself: He gives them over to their passions and “to do those things which are not convenient—-in the old sense of that word, that is, “not becoming,” “indecorous,” “shameful.” (Romans 1:26-28). This means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins. As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing- Proverbs 10:17; Hebrews 3:7-10. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance – 2 Corinthians 4:3-4. Without repentance, there will be no forgiveness (Acts 8:22). Without forgiveness, there is no salvation Hebrews 2:3, Romans 5:1; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Romans 10:10.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CHRISTIAN’S RESPONSE TO THE HOMOSEXUAL

Just because someone is gay does not mean that we cannot love him (or her) or pray for them – Leviticus 19:18; 1 Timothy 1:5. Homosexuality is a sin and like any other sin, it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible – Romans 13:9. It needs to be laid at the cross and repented of – Romans 6:6; Ephesians 4:22.

Christians should pray for the salvation of the gay communities the same way they would pray for any other person in sin – James 5:16, 1 Kings 13:6. They should treat gays with the same dignity as they would anyone else because, whether you like it or not, they made in the image of God – Genesis 1:26-27. However, this does not mean that Christians should approve of their sin. Christians should not compromise their witness for a politically correct opinion that is shaped by guilt and fear – Colossians 4:5-6.

 

 

 

 

 

SHOULD GAYS BE ALLOWED TO MARRY ONE ANOTHER

The aching questions in the society and some churches are: Should a woman be allowed to marry another woman? Should a man be allowed to marry another man? Should they be given legal protection and special rights to practice their homosexuality?

Although, our society does not rely on the Bible for its moral truth but on humanistic and relativistic morals upon which it builds its ethical structure, the Bible, of course, condemns homosexuality – Leviticus 18:22, 20:13. It takes no leap of logic to discern that gay marriage is also condemned. Therefore, we must be prayerful, sober and vigilant 1 Peter 5:8-9.

 

 

 

 

 

CONCLUSION

You do not win people to The LORD by condemning them and calling them names. This is why God says to speak with wisdom, grace, and love. Let the love of Christ flow through you so that the homosexuals can see true love and turn to Christ instead of away from Him.

INTRODUCTION:

Today, especially in the western world, homosexuals and lesbians have gained substantial momentum. They have “come out” as the term goes, left their closets. Through television, radio, newspapers and magazines, they are preaching their doctrine of tolerance, equality, justice, and love. They do not want to be perceived as abnormal or dangerous. They want to be recognised and accepted socially, politically etc. in this study we shall examine the biblical perspective and the Christian worldview as touching this subject matter. WHAT IS HOMOSEXUALITY?

Homosexuality is a relationship that involves having sexual intercourse with the people of the same sex. It is referred to as “lesbianism” among the female gender. Homosexuality is not natural. A look at the male and female bodies reveals that they are obviously designed to couple. The natural design is apparent. It is not natural to couple male and male and female with female. Homosexual desires, which may feel natural, are actually unnatural. Other perverted sexual relationships are: paedophilia – an abnormal sexual attraction to children and bestiality – sexual relationship with animals.

 

 

 

 

 

SOCIETAL ATTITUDE

Pro-homosexual politicians and the homosexual community want legal protection for having intercourse with the people of the same sex. They also want their views taught in schools, promoted over the airwaves and codified in literature. The homosexual community also attempts to use political power to try and control the church!

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

The Bible has much to say about homosexuality:

 

 

 

 

 

Genesis 19:45 – “But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

 

 

 

 

 

Leviticus 18:22 – “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

 

 

 

 

 

Leviticus 20:13 – “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

 

 

 

 

 

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

 

 

 

 

 

Romans 1:26-28 – “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

 

 

 

 

 

CONCLUSION:

The Bible surely has crystal clear statements against homosexuality. Hence, it is difficult to see how different groups can say the Bible supports homosexuality. But they try by redefining love, marriage, sex, homosexuality, etc. in order to accomplish their goal. But the truth is that God created man and woman, not man and man, or woman and woman.

Leviticus 20:13:- Homosexuality is an abomination.

Thought for the Day

Verse 3 Prudence (the ability to make sound judgments), enables us to avoid Satanic entrapments. It develops as we grow in the knowledge of good and evil by daily walking with God and obeying the principles in His Word. Developing a sensitivity and instant obedience to Gods voice is prudent, because God will warn us of evils that we have no way of knowing about apart from Him. Many Christians testify of having been saved from life-threatening situations because they heard a warning in their hearts from the Lord. The Bible is full of accounts of how the Lord preserved the lives of His children by warning them of danger. Even the life of Jesus, as a child, was saved when an angel of the Lord warned Joseph in a dream to flee Bethlehem (Matthew 2:13-14).
God warned Noah of the coming catastrophic flood, and told him how to build an ark and make provision for survival. God warned Lot and his family of the coming destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and told them to flee. God warned a Pharaoh in Egypt, through a dream, to prepare for seven years of abundance that would be followed by seven years of famine in the days of Joseph. He warned the Israelites in Egypt that the angel of death would kill the first-born of every family and told them to place the blood of a lamb on the lintels and door posts of their houses so that the destroyer would pass over them. God warned Nineveh of impending judgment through Jonah.
The Lord still warns individuals and nations today (through the Bible and His servants) to repent so that they will not be destroyed. When any nations sins reach a certain level, judgment is inevitable if that nation does not repent. God does not desire to see any individual or nation destroyed by the fruit of their own sins. He even spared a heathen nation (the Amorites) for a while longer, until their cup of iniquity was full and He could no longer tolerate their sin. But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full (Genesis 15:16).
Verse 4 We can escape destruction and find riches, and honour by humbling ourselves before the Lord. He wants to bless us. The curses coming upon our nations are not from Him, but are the result of rejecting Him and idolizing such things as materialism, lust, and perversion (Jeremiah 2:19). It is never too late to seek the Lord. He is loving and forgiving, and yearns to bring us into a Promised Land of safety and blessing. He Himself paid the penalty of our sins for us.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you (1 Peter 5:6-10).

Dear Heavenly Father!

Thank You for Your divine protection over me and my family, Lord. I am sure that You have kept me from harm many times, that I was not even aware of. Lord, help me to be prudent and wise in all of my affairs, as I know I bring suffering on myself, when I fail to hear You and proceed in an unwise path. Lord, help me resist evil, and overcome the temptations in my life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for continued safety in these perilous times and may I hear Your warnings, when I need to take any action to avoid trouble and destruction. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Are You A Doer? Or A Hearer Of The Word Of The Lord?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 Kings 23:3-4

“Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the LORD all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.”

I’ve met many Christians who know the Bible inside and out. They can quote scripture after scripture, word for word with verse references and even comment on the meaning. I’ve met fewer who actually do The Word Of GOD. This astounds me. What if a 16 year old kid memorizes the driver’s exam study book and aces the exam, but then goes out and runs every red light he comes across? He’s going to get hurt and will probably hurt someone else in the process. The same is true with the Word of God. Think of some Christians on street corners with sandwich boards and megaphones hardening the hearts of everyone around them. They have the ‘head knowledge’ but they have not made the ‘heart application’.

To the other extreme are Christians who use church as a social club. They nod their heads and ‘Amen‘ the pastor, but their day to day life speaks nothing of following Jesus Christ. Solid biblical teaching assigns the hearer the responsibility to act on what they learn. So, where do you fall in this? Are you a Doer or just a Hearer of The Word Of God?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Life Lesson: We need to be acting on the Word of God.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me. Please forgive me for times when I have failed to live by Your Word. I thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to make doing what You tell me the priority in my life. Help me to love You and to love others. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
