Secret Sins

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. Psalms 90:8

Besides expressing faith in God, the righteous is identified by consistent right-standing with God. According to Ezekiel 3:21, the righteous is expected not to live in sin, but to continue to do what glorifies God. Righteousness is not something you engage today and disengage tomorrow like some people think. You do not abstain from sin only when those you respect are around, but also when they are not around. The righteous does not only abstain from public sins but also from secret ones. The challenge of most believers is not how to avoid open sins but how to stay righteous in their thoughts realm and to keep away from touching the unclean things when they are all by themselves. That is a major challenge and for the righteous, this is the area he or she devotes more attention and prayer to.

David was one person who had a challenge in this area. Through the knowledge of God’s Word, he understood that secret sins, which nobody else is privy to, are fully exposed to God. In Psalms 90:8, he says our sins which were shrouded in secrecy of darkness and ignorance are exposed by the light of His (God’s) Presence. Your secret sins are not covered at all! God knows everything about your secret deeds. The devil or his agents who were present when you indulged in those evil acts also have the records. It is either God exposes your secrets, or the devil does. What you have buried in the earth or locked up in a safe, which you think is safe, is not safe at all. It can be exposed at anytime. The only secrets that can truly be secrets are the ones you confess to The LORD and hand over to Him. If He covers your faults, nobody can uncover them. When David realised this, he therefore asked God to deliver him from secret sins. Are you still living in sin secretly? Do you secretly masturbate, lust after same sex or the opposite sex? Do you secretly steal or bribe to influence decisions? Repent today and hand your secrets over to God.

Key Point:

The secret sins you fail to expose to Him today will be exposed before men and then nobody and nothing can cover your shame.

If You have been blessed and Touched by the Lord, Share Your Testimony

Acts 22:2-3

“Then he said: ‘I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the strictness of our fathers’ law, and was zealous toward God as you all are today.'”
NKJV

In Acts 22, Paul shares his ‘God story’, his testimony. Why is he doing this? Is it so others will be amazed at his religious upbringing or at the depth of his biblical training? Is it to glorify his past? No, Paul is sharing his testimony to lead others to Christ by explaining who he was before Jesus, what Jesus did, and the joy that he now has because of Jesus. This is one of the most effective ways of sharing your faith. You see, people can argue about historical facts and they can disagree over cultural details, but people cannot argue with the fact that you found love, joy and forgiveness at the foot of the cross. Brother or sister, don’t be shy about telling your ‘God story’. Tell it to as many as will listen and you will be amazed at how God will use it to change the lives of those around you.

Life Lesson: Share your life story often with people.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me and saving me. Though I was a sinner, You sought me out and saved me from who I was so that I could live for You forever. Please give me courage and opportunity to share my testimony with others and forgive me for times when I had opportunities to share and did not. I pray this in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

God Created The Whole Universe Through Him And For Him

English: Resurrection of Christ

God created the whole universe through Him and for Him

“By Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.”
Colossians 1:16 NASB

What a phenomenal list! Heavens and earth. Visible and invisible. Thrones, dominions, rulers and authorities. Nothing, place, or person omitted. The scale on the sea urchin. The hairs on the elephant hide.

The hurricane that wrecks the coast, the rain that nourishes the desert, the infant’s first heartbeat, the elderly person’s final breath -– all can be traced back to the hand of Christ, the firstborn of creation.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

I Am The Good Shepherd And I Know My Sheep

Palm Sunday

I am The Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep. —John 10:14

READ: John 10:7-18

People hate change, or so I hear. But the change we generally resist is the kind that we think will make our situation worse rather than better. We eagerly change jobs when it means higher pay and more influence. We happily move to a bigger house in a better neighbourhood. So it’s not change in general that we hate; it’s change that involves loss—sometimes physical; other times emotional or psychological.

Change is both inevitable and necessary. If everything stays the same, no one is growing. But we have a Shepherd who guides us through change and leads us to a better place. Getting there may be difficult, as it was for the Israelites in reaching the Promised Land. They grumbled when their situation got worse rather than better (Ex. 15:24; Num. 14:2). But we have the example of Jesus. In less than a week, He went from being the leader of many to being abandoned by all. Between Palm Sunday and Good Friday, the Good Shepherd became the Passover Lamb. Because Christ willingly went through suffering, God elevated Him to the highest place (John 10:11; Phil. 2:8-9).

Not all change is pleasant, but when we’re being led to a better place by Someone who loves us, we don’t need to fear it. —Julie Ackerman Link

I know not, but God knows;
Oh, blessed rest from fear!
All my unfolding days
To Him are plain and clear. —Flint

Faith in Christ will keep us steady in the stormy sea of change.

The Passion Of Christ

“The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself.”  John 10:11, The Message

God is on a cross. The creator of the universe is being executed.

Spit and blood are caked to his cheeks, and his lips are cracked and swollen.

Thorns rip his scalp. His lungs scream with pain. His legs knot with cramps . . .

And there is no one to save him, for he is sacrificing himself.

It is no normal six hours . . . it is no normal Friday.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The Body Of Christ

The Body Of Christ

READ: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

Those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. —1 Corinthians 12:22

The number of people who run a business out of their homes is in the millions. But some have found that working alone can be a little too lonely. To give these lonely ones a community, “co-working” spaces have been designed. Large facilities are rented out where people working by themselves can share space with others. They have their own work area but can exchange ideas with fellow independent workers. It’s for those who feel they can work better together than they do alone.

Sometimes Christians think they work better alone. But we are meant to work together with others in the church. Every Christian has been placed into “The Body Of Christ” (1 Cor. 12:27). And the Lord desires that we take part in fellowship with a local community of believers—using our spiritual gifts and working together in His service.

Yet for various reasons, some aren’t able to join in. Because of health issues, they may be shut in at home or may not know how to fit in at church. Yet they are a needed part of the body (vv.22-25). That’s when others can meet their need for togetherness. Let’s do our part so that others may feel they’re an integral part of the community of faith. We work better together than alone. —Anne Cetas

Thinking It Over

What can you do to help others feel a part of your church
community? Visit, pray with them, read Scripture together,
drop a note, or invite them to join you in serving others.

Fellowship builds us up and binds us together.

Christ The Power And Wisdom Of God

English: Resurrection of Christ

Christ, The Power And Wisdom Of God

1 Corinthians 1:24 “To those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”

People today run after two things: miraculous signs and wonders, and knowledge. It was no different in Bible times. The apostle Paul acknowledged that “Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom”. (1 Corinthians 1:22)

So when Paul preached Christ crucified as God’s solution to them, the message was “to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness”. (1 Corinthians 1:23) They didn’t understand how getting a revelation of Jesus and His death could give them the miracles they needed or the wisdom they wanted.

Beloved, we don’t have to run after miracles or wisdom today. We just need to run after Jesus because He is “The Power of God and The Wisdom of God”. The more we know Christ and Christ crucified, the more we will have the power and wisdom of God.

Several church members have shared how they have seen the power of God blast financial debts out of their lives. Not knowing what to do about their debts, they looked to the Lord to deliver them. And the Lord was able to do so mightily because He is indeed the power of God.

So if you are facing a financial debt, Christ has the power to remove the debt. And because He is also the wisdom of God, He will show you where you went wrong and teach you how to stay out of debt!

Let me give you another illustration. Let’s say a man, whose wife has left him, looks to Jesus to bring his wife back. Christ, the power of God, brings about a miraculous restoration of their marriage. But it is Christ, the wisdom of God, who will teach the husband how to keep his wife by showing him what he had done wrong and what to do to strengthen the marriage. If the husband does not have this wisdom, it will only be a matter of time before the same problems surface and his wife leaves him again.

My friend, Christ is both The Power and Wisdom of God to us. As the Power of God, He removes obstacles in our paths. As the Wisdom of God, He continually directs our paths!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

About Those Scribes

Luke 6:7, “And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day, that they might find an accusation against him.”

MATTHEW 12:1-14; MARK 2:23-3:6; LUKE 6:1-11

The scribes were copyists of the Holy Scriptures. They preserved in written form the oral law, and faithfully handed down the Hebrew Scriptures. In New Testament times, they were students, interpreters, and teachers of the Old Testament. Their functions regarding the law were to teach it, develop it, and use it in any connection with the Sanhedrin and various local courts. They were ambitious for honour, which they demanded, especially from their pupils, as well as from the general public. This homage was readily granted them (Mt. 23:5-11).

Ezra was a scribe during the Babylonian captivity of the Jews, and he was a very godly man. The office of a scribe was a worthy one, but the scribes of Jesus’ day were often rebuked by Him for having gone beyond the job of copying out the scriptures. They had a large volume of interpretations that they had added to the scriptures based on traditions, and had thus made “the word of God of none effect” (Mk. 7:13).

The scribes became an independent company of interpreters of the law and leaders of the people. Even they, themselves, sought to evade certain of their own precepts (Mt. 23:2-4). They clashed with Christ for He taught with authority and condemned the external formalism that they fostered (Mt. 7:28-29). They persecuted Peter and John (Acts 4:3-7) and had a part in Stephen’s martyrdom (Acts 6:12). However, although the majority opposed Christ, some did believe (Mt. 21:15).

Later on, we’ll read how Jesus exposed the hypocrisy of the scribes by dealing with issues of the heart. They appeared to be holy outwardly, but their hearts were far from God. It is important for us to keep our hearts tender and receptive to His Word, and give ourselves to Him in worship. Think about the good things he has done for you today and be thankful.

From Hot For Christ To Dead To Christ

From Hot For Christ To Dead To Christ

I know what you have done; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! But because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth! You say, “I am rich and well off; I have all I need”. But you do not know how miserable and pitiful you are! You are poor, naked, and blind.
Revelation 3:15-17

The word “Spit” means to vomit you up. In order to vomit something, you
had to have ingested it at some point. It was in you. It was part of
you, but it became so troubling to you that it had to come out.

This church is prosperous and has allowed its prosperity to dull it. Many times people start out working hard and experience success. They experience blessings. The pressure isn’t on
them anymore. Their bills are paid, and things are going well. That zeal becomes dulled, and they become lukewarm.

To God, being lukewarm means that you were on fire and then you became cold because good things were happening. You became prosperous. You were enjoying good health. Your children were doing well. Life was good. And instead of that firing you up, you became lukewarm. God is not against prosperity, but He is against prosperity changing you.

I know of a man in our church one time who didn’t have anything going for him. He wanted to learn the Word of God, so the pastor taught him. He became prosperous; in fact, he became a millionaire. But when He became wealthy, his zeal disappeared. We stopped seeing him at church; he had other things to do. The end result was that he became very cold to the things of God and backslid. He ended his life by committing suicide. Yes, it is possible to go from being hot to being dead.

Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father!
All that I am and all that I have belongs to You. You gave me strength
to prosper, and You have blessed me. I praise You for being true to
Your name and Your Word. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Engraved in God’s Heart

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Engraved in God’s Heart

The finger of God is an agent of creation and a mark of God’s authority. They were also used in writing His laws. Deuteronomy 9:9-11 says God wrote the Ten Commandments with His finger on tablets of stone. Every author writes a book or put words and sentences together in order to convey certain ideas or opinions for others to read. The fact that God wrote the Ten Commandments with His own fingers established the fact that He and not Moses is the Author. God not only writes on stones, He writes on men. After Cain killed his brother Abel and God judged him, he requested for a reduction in the punishment, being scared that anyone who sights him might kill him. As a result, God wrote on him – He put a mark of “Untouchable” on him so that anyone who saw him from that day would not touch him. With God’s mark on Cain, he was free to serve his punishment without anyone touching him. Even today, God can put a mark upon you which will make you untouchable. Paul had this mark. He says: “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. Galatians 6:17”

This mark is also a mark of divine ownership. In other words, when the finger of God writes on you, the enemy will immediately realise that you are a property of the King of kings and so they cannot just toy with you. Paul got his divine branding in the course of being persecuted for Christ. Have you been so branded? Apart from this, God said a time was coming when He would write His commandments on the tables of the hearts of men and they shall serve Him with ease. That time is now! Today, as you study His Word daily, ask Him to inscribe His laws upon the tables of your heart so that you will no more stray from His Will (Hebrews 8:9-13).

Servants are branded and their owners recognise them by the mark on them. Do you have any mark that identifies you as God’s property? Is His mark of ownership vivid? Are His laws written in your heart? Have you become untouchable? If any of these is lacking, run to the cross today!

Prayer Point: Father! Give me hatred for sin. Help me to hate sin as much as You hate it! In Jesus Christ  Name I pray, Amen!

Further Reading: Hebrews 8:11-12 “None of them will have to teach their fellow-citizens or say to their fellow-citizens, ‘Know The Lord.’ For they will all know me, from the least to the greatest. I will forgive their sins and will no longer remember their wrongs.’

Change is coming

Change is coming

1 Corinthians 13:10

“But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away with.”
NKJV

Most all of us hate change. We like our routines and desire to walk through life not having to change it up too often. Maybe this is because we like to feel we are in control and anything we are not ready for frightens us. Well friend, there is something coming that I pray you are ready for. This change will affect you, me and everyone on the face of our planet. It’s something far more powerful than a war or natural disaster, in fact, it’s not a something at all – it’s a someone.

Revelation 21:4 “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” NKJV

In the blink of an eye, every follower of Christ on earth will be made new. The old will pass and the new will come. We will see our Lord face to face and our lives will never be the same. Yes, this change is the greatest change of all, but we must be ready or we’ll miss it. You see, we do not know the day or hour of this change, but we do know how we can prepare. God’s Word is clear. We have a choice here on earth to follow Him and find forgiveness of sin and hope of heaven or reject Him and find judgment. If you have never asked God to forgive you of your sins and trusted in Jesus as your Saviour, then today is the day. There are many promises in the Bible, but tomorrow is not one of them. Pray to Him today and you’ll be ready for the day when everything changes for eternity.

Life Lesson: One day everything will change – everything.

Dear God,
I know that I have done wrong things. I pray that You would forgive me of my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and that He was raised from the dead. Today, I trust in Him and ask that You fill me with Your Spirit so that I can share this wonderful news with a lost and hurting world. In Jesus Christ  Name, Amen.

Keeping Up With the Joneses

Keeping Up With the Joneses

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in
whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to
be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I
am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and
to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me

Philippians 4:11-13

People get into financial trouble when they violate the scriptural principle of not coveting. To covet is to long after something. We’re
supposed to fix our desire upon Jesus. He is the one whom we long after
and follow.

The mentality of the world (and a lot of believers stay in the way of
the world) is that they have to keep up with the Joneses. Or else they
have big eyes, desiring everything they see. When people run after
money so they can be fulfilled, they are guilty of coveting. Coveting
gets you into trouble.

God has promised to give you abundance because He loves you and you
obey Him. But life is not based on what you have. Your life is in
Jesus. He is your sufficiency. All the rest is just bonus material that
God gives you to use as you bring more people to Jesus.

The only time you are guaranteed rest is in God’s presence

English: Resurrection of Christ

The only time you are guaranteed rest is in God’s presence

“And he said unto Him, if Thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.” (Exodus 33:15)

When Christ is with you, God is with you. Psalm 121:5 says, “The LORD is thy Keeper: The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.” When Christ is with you, God’s shadow will follow you wherever you go.

Three fishes in an ocean were terrified by some sharks whenever they went swimming. One day, they held a prayer meeting and invited God to be in attendance. When God came down, He asked them what they each wanted. The first fish asked for eyes all over its body so that from a long distance, it could sight the sharks coming. The second fish requested wings to fly whenever it was being chased by the sharks. The third fish simply requested that God should follow it wherever it went. The Lord granted all their requests.

Immediately God left, the first fish realized that all the scales on its body had become eyes. Its new look attracted the sharks and they began to pursue it. From a distance, it sighted the sharks swim fast towards it. Immediately, it leaped into a small pool of water nearby. Safe from the sharks, it began to laugh at the predators. Hours later, however, the pool dried up and it died. The sharks then turned their sight on the second fish. As it was being chased, it flew out of the ocean, and from a safe height began to mock the sharks. Unfortunately, an eagle was flying overhead and, thanking God, snapped up the fish. Meanwhile, the third fish was swimming quietly and enjoying itself. The baby shark told its mother that there was another, seemingly not afraid of them. Now, when the baby shark asked that they go after the fish, its mother cautioned: “Can’t you see the shadow of a man following that fish? If you go near it, you will be killed.”  That was how the third fish survived the sharks. When Christ is with you, there will be no need to fret. He will take care of you. Is Christ with you? Do you feel His presence? Or do you like the first two fishes prefer something else to God’s presence? Moses, like the third fish, chose well; he refused to go anywhere if God would not follow him. Are you going to places without God’s presence? Do not be surprised when you meet with disappointment.

According to Exodus 33:14, the only time you are guaranteed rest is in God’s presence!

Is Christ In You?

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Is Christ In You?

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col.1:27)

The person in you has great effect on your performance. Whether your potentials will be realized or not, depends to a large extent on who is in you. If Christ is in you, it means the Anointed One is in you. It also means the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, the Fire Generator is in you. With the presence of Christ in you, there is greater power inside you. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world”. Although the Greater One: The Lord Jesus Christ is the Almighty God, yet, inside some of His children, He is only a little seed which has no impact on them. If after receiving Christ, you refused to grow in His grace, He will remain a seed in you. As long as Jesus is not growing in you, He is limited in your life. In that limited state, your external enemies would appear bigger and in control. To take charge of your situation, you must daily make efforts to grow in the grace of Jesus Christ. Grow in His Word. Fill yourself with the Scriptures. Regularly attract His presence and be a carrier of it.

If those around you find it difficult to identify you as Christian, it simply means that Jesus in you is still in His infancy. If Christ, the Anointed One, is the One inside you, He will surely manifest. You cannot hide the anointing. It will surely speak. Many believers are yet to exploit the possibilities of blessings inherent in Jesus Christ. Are you in that situation today? Wake up! It is time to grow the One inside you so as to take charge of the one outside. It took a young David carrying the Lord of Hosts on the inside of him to defeat the Goliath outside. Until Christ is fully formed in you, you may not see Him manifesting in His glory. His goodness and grace may remain a mystery. When He is fully formed in you, however, He will radiate through you and bring everything else under control. Is Christ formed in you?

Key Point: Christ needs to take His rightful place inside you in order for satan and his cohorts to accept their place under your feet. Make maximum room for Him in your life, now!

All of God’s power is wrapped up in the Gospel

All of God’s power is wrapped up in the Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth…..(Romans 1:16)

Our Lord Jesus Christ told us to preach the gospel which is the “Good News” of what His death, burial and resurrection accomplished for humanity. The gospel is more than a nice moralistic story of what God’s Son did for humanity. According to the bible, the gospel is in itself the power of God unto salvation. The Word “Salvation” is the all-encompassing word that describes the totality of the good work God has wrought for us. This means that the totality of God’s power to do anything for any man is fully resident in the Gospel. It is this power that turns sinners into saints in a moment of time.

It doesn’t matter what need a man might have, the solution is in the Gospel. All you need to come out trouble or any precarious situation is to hear and receive the Gospel of Christ Jesus as pertains to your situation. For example, the Gospel to the one who is broke and in debt is that he has an inheritance in Christ Jesus and so he has no business living in lack. As soon as he receives that Word and endorses it, that’ll be the end of his poverty.

The Gospel to the one who is sick is that divine health has been made available through Christ Jesus. As soon as he receives it, it will be impossible for sickness and disease to hold him down. No matter the situation in which you find yourself, the solution is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thus if you’re reading this today and you’re not yet saved, what you need is to believe in your heart, and declare with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord of your life from this day forward! Ask Him to come live in you and make your heart the place of His abode. When you do this, God’s power will begin to work in you and you’ll be awakened to the fatherhood of God. You’ll become a brand new species of being that never existed before (2 Corinthians 5:17)! That’s the power of the Gospel!

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me the awesome power that’s wrapped up in the Gospel. I thank You for making the provisions of the Gospel available to me such that I can direct your power at any situation I desire to change, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

I am free

John 8:33: “They answered him, we be Abraham‘s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Praise the Lord that no language, creed, colour, race, background and past experience, can separate us from the love of God. It does not matter who your grand daddy was, you are free through what Jesus did on the cross. Enjoy your free day.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

If you will repent and turn from sin, and trust God, He will forgive you and grant you everlasting life

If you will repent and turn away from sin, and trust God, He will forgive you and grant you everlasting

Just imagine a well trained and experienced driver who is knowledgeable about the traffic laws but chooses to disobey because he or she is in hurry to get to their destination for a just cause or simply because they are impatient. Whatever good reason he or she might have does not hide the fact that he has broken the law, if apprehended he or she will be tried and found guilty of the law.  This highlights the most common mistakes people make about God and His laws (The Ten Commandments).

God’s justice will be so thorough; He will even judge hatred as murder and “every idle word that men speak”. Have you ever put anything in your life before God? If you have, will you be innocent or guilty on that day of breaking God’s law. Remember that the law doesn’t see the fact that you have a “weakness” or “that everyone else does it” as a legitimate excuse. If you were found guilty you will go to hell, and it is not the Lord’s Will that you go to hell. God has provided a way for us to be forgiven.

God demonstrated His love towards us, in that, while we were still sinner, Christ died for us and then rose from the dead and defeated death.

If you will repent and turn away from sin and trust God, He will forgive you and grant you everlasting life.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I confess my sins (name them) and I ask for forgiveness. Please come into my life and put my name in the Book of Life and I promise by Your Grace to serve you all the days of my life, in Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen!

Action Points: Read The Bible daily and strive by God’s Grace to obey all of His Instructions!

Share Your Faith Now! Somebody needs it!

Share your faith now! Somebody needs it

“Then I will teach transgressors your ways.” (Psalm 51:13 (NIV).

John was hitchhiking home when he was picked up by Mr. Patrick. As they drove towards Lagos from Ibadan, John felt God urging him to share his faith. When he overcame his fear and asked the man if he would like to receive Christ, Mr. Patrick stopped, weeping, he bowed his head and received Christ. “This is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me,” he said

Shortly afterwards he dropped John at his house at Mowe and went on to Lagos, which was about an hour down the road.

Years later, while preparing for a business trip to Lagos, John came across the gold-embossed business card Mr. Patrick had given him years earlier. When he arrived in Lagos he decided to look up De Patricko Enterprises and found it located in a skyscraper in Marina. When he asked the receptionist if he could see Mr. Patrick, she said, “No, but his wife is here.”

You knew my husband?” the woman in her 50’s asked.

John explained that her husband had given him a ride and how he’d led him to Christ.

When was that?” she asked.

May 7th, five years ago, the day I was discharged from the army.”

She began to sob.

After several minutes she regained control and said, “I prayed for my husband’s salvation for years, believing God would save him. But right after he let you out of his car, on May 7th, he was killed in a head-on collision. I thought God had not answered my prayer, and I stopped living for Him five years ago.

That day she recommitted her life to Christ.

Share your faith today! Somebody needs it!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

There Is No Guarantee That Debtors Will Make It To Heaven, Including Senior Pastors

There is no guarantee that debtors will make it to Heaven, including senior pastors

Several years ago, Myles Munroe spoke on five questions you must ask yourself: Who am I? Where am I from? Why am I here? What can I become? Where am I going to? These are very crucial issues which, if properly answered, will help you to optimize your earthly existence. Have you been able to find the answers to these questions?

In addition to the above questions, it is important to ask yourself: How far am I from my goal? If you left point A for point B, it is important to take stock so as to know how close or far your destination is. This calls for self-examination, personal appraisal or evaluation of actions, tactics, strategy and plans. Why do you think Paul asked the Corinthian church to examine themselves, to know whether they were still in the faith?  (2 Corinthians 13:5) It is because it is possible to start off as a Christian but along the way lose one’s faith in Christ. For this same reason, Paul queried the church in Galatia as to why they would end up in the flesh, having begun in the spirit (Galatians 3:3). Today, many believers who started the Christian race as honest, God-fearing, Jesus-seeking, Spirit-filled, heaven-bound saints, are now flesh-controlled, position-seeking, money-serving, people-victimizing political beings. Unfortunately, they have continued their journey without asking how far or how close they are to their original goal.

If truth be told, position is robbing many of holiness. It is shocking to hear that some senior pastors fix the stipends and salaries of junior pastors and workers in banks for a period and receive interest up front into their personal pockets, without thinking of the hardship they cause such families. Such leaders are farther from their destination. There are some things you do that takes you several miles away from your destination. It is safe to assume that if you were saved 10, 15, or 20 years ago, and you were living to please God for that period; you are closer to heaven than when you started. But if you begin to do certain things wrong, it will set you backwards, even beyond the years you started out. Have you asked how close you are to your heavenly goal?

There is guarantee that debtors will make it to Heaven, including senior pastors, top Christian leaders who deliberately sit on the salaries and stipends of their subordinates. They may pay their debts eternally in hell.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
