BETRAYAL!

BETRAYAL! (Photo credit: Craig Walkowicz)

Betrayal

“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?”

Luke 6:46, NKJV

Within moments of betraying Jesus, Judas hated himself for what he had done. Jesus’ third religious trial was interrupted briefly by a commotion at the doorway as Judas burst onto the scene. With a face that was surely contorted by the wretchedness of conviction, he flung thirty pieces of silver across the temple floor. As the room suddenly grew silent, the clattering coins must have reverberated in the stillness as they skidded and skipped across the marble surface. Thirty pieces of silver! The price that had been paid him by the chief priests for his betrayal! Thirty pieces of silver! The price of a wounded slave! (see Ex. 21:32) Judas sold his Lord for the price of something that, in his culture, was good for nothing!

You and I betray Jesus when we call ourselves Christians yet give our hearts to money, or material things, or selfish pursuits, or anyone or anything other than Him. We betray Him when we spend more time on the Internet than in prayer. We betray Him when we spend more time reading the morning newspaper than reading the Bible. Would you confess and repent of your sin of betrayal, ask God to cleanse you, and commit to living a life of love and loyalty to Jesus?

Godis looking at the good you have done in your life and encouraging   you to continueNehemiah 5:19 Think upon me, my God, for good, according all that I   have done. . . .

I want to give you an encouraging   word today that I wholeheartedly believe is from the Spirit of God. God wants   you to know today that He is focusing upon and remembering the good things   you have done. He sees the good in you! When Nehemiah led the effort to   rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, he asked the Lord to focus on the good he had   done. (Nehemiah 5:19) On multiple occasions, Nehemiah asked God to remember   and reward him for his good deeds (Neh. 13:22 & 31). Of course, the enemy   always wants us to believe that God is busy pointing out our mistakes.   However, God is not a finger pointer! The devil is the accuser and wants you   to think God doesn’t pay much attention to the good things you do. The devil   wants you to believe God focuses more on your shortcomings. That is the   farthest thing from the truth.

God is looking at the good you have   done in your life and encouraging you to continue.

He sees you through the blood of   Jesus. God is your biggest fan and wants you to continue doing what is right   so you can enjoy the harvest of something great that is destined to emerge   from your life.

So be confident because God is focusing on the good in you today. Just lift your hands to Him right now and like Nehemiah, say, “Lord, think upon me for good!”

Teaching and Learning

Teaching & Learning

“This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, ‘Rabbi, we know that You are a
teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do, unless God is
with him.'”
-John 3:2

Two nights ago, I went to the local 24-hr. chain pharmacy to pick up a small bottle
of shampoo. With shampoo in hand, I lined up at the normal location to wait for
a clerk behind a cash register. When I got to the front of the line, a nice man,
a store employee, waved me over to one of their new “self-checkout” stations.

This was not the first time I’d approached one of these machines. In fact, I’d successfully
negotiated similar self-checkout stations at the grocery store and a large building
supply store. When I looked at the new screen at the pharmacy’s register, it looked
different than the other two I’d encountered…so, while I was taking in the differences,
and almost ready to reach out to touch the “start” button, the nice man quickly
reached in front of me to punch the button instead. “This is easy,” he said. “You’ll
get the hang of it before you know it.” When the next screen appeared, his quick
hand was there to punch again, for me. I saw, briefly, the “complete transaction
and pay” button I was supposed to punch…but, for the third time, his hand was
quicker than mine was. He tossed my shampoo in a bag, ripped my receipt from the
machine, smiled as he handed me the bag, and said, “See? Nothing to it!”

As I walked out the door, I found myself thinking about teachers and teaching. Did
this nice man really think he had taught me how to use his new machine? In reality,
he had taught me nothing. Instead, he’d done everything for me.

Jesus was a teacher, too. Many called Him by this name – Teacher. Yes, He guided
persons towards their own positive conclusions regarding the Kingdom of God through
the stories and parables He told…as well as the miracles He performed. He guided
the disciples as they, too, performed miracles – but, always, in His name.

However, there was one time, one event, when even the Teacher Jesus had to do it
all for us – when He reached between you and God Almighty with His loving, pierced
hands. Only He and He alone could die upon the cross. Only He and He alone, could re-establish our pathways to God’s heart of love.

PRAYER:

Lord, YOU teach me, and model for me, a perfect love. I cannot be perfect…but
help me, Lord, to teach those around me more about You, today. Amen.

God is sovereign

Whose side are you on?

“Are you friend or foe?” Joshua demanded. “Neither one,” the warrior replied. So began one of the most unforeseen answers in all of Joshua’s life. (Joshua 5:13-14)

God appointed Joshua to lead God’s People, the Israelites, after Moses died. His first battle assignment: conquer the city of Jericho. Joshua tackled the assignment with the confidence that God put him in charge. His mandate came straight from God, Himself. That was real clout.

As he walked around Jericho looking over the terrain, probably making battle plans, Joshua spied a bold warrior standing in front of him with a drawn sword. Exercising his God-given authority he swiftly confronted him. Following his initial refusal to take sides, the warrior continued, “I am the commander of the Lord’s army.”

In a matter of seconds the tables turned. Joshua, God’s appointed leader of a 600,000 man army, fell on his face with the words, “I am at your command. What do you want your servant to do?”

Like Joshua, we often make the mistake of thinking God is on our side. He’s not. The real issue is, “Whose side are we on?” Either we are on God’s side—or not. That is the choice we make every day. Either we follow God today or we don’t. But God most certainly does not follow us.

God, as the Judge of all the earth, determined the wickedness of Cain’s civilization could no longer be tolerated, and He sent the Flood to wash it away. God, Who judged the world, is the same God Who saved the world from His own judgment by providing the ark as a means of escape. Praise God! That’s His goodness!

Like pouring oil on troubled waters, our knowledge of Who God is calms our fears. So . . . keep your faith, and keep your focus!

God is faithful and gracious and good and loving and patient and holy and righteous and merciful.

Lord, teach us to pray….

Get Up…and Pray!

Luke 11:1, NIV

Prayer has always been a struggle for me. In fact, I’ve described it as the fight of my life. The one thing consistent about it is my struggle to maintain a quality time alone with God every day. I have failed more often than I have succeeded.

What about you? How’s your prayer life? Are you rushing through your prayer time? Neglecting it altogether? Isaiah 50:4 (NIV) says, “The sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning.”

When my body wants to roll over and go back to sleep, my spirit says, “Get up, or you will miss the word God has for you this morning. The very word that will sustain you today…or a word to share that will sustain someone else.”

What blessing are you missing because you’re sleeping instead of listening to what God has to say? You’ll never know until you get up…and pray!

The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength.

James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

When we are facing challenges and problems, it is difficult to have joy; but James tells us that this is the key to overcoming those obstacles that are in your life. As a matter of fact the Bible says that the joy of the lord is your strength. So without joy you will be without strength and you will not be able to face and overcome the trials. You can only have joy when you have Faith, knowing that God will not leave you in the lurch and that He will always help you to get through whatever you are facing.

Discipleship

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:26

Read: Matthew 8:18-23

After the Lord Jesus Christ instructed the multitude that they should go to the other side, only the disciples obeyed. The rest of the people went their way. A particular learned man met Him and offered to follow Jesus where he went. The Lord was happy to hear this but quickly told him that following Him was sacrificial.

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head (Matthew 8:20).

The Lord made him realise that in the course of following Him, he will go through situations of discomfort and self denial. But the man loved his bed too much! He could not go through any inconvenience for the sake of the Gospel. That was the last time we heard of him. Even till this day, convenience is what is coming between God and some of His children. But I really wonder where we learnt that from, obviously not from God! John 3:16 says when God was to sow for man’s redemption, it was His best He gave. How come those who have been washed in the blood cannot make a little sacrifice for the Lord? If you are wise, you will bridge the gap between God’s sacrificial gift and your gifts every time you have the opportunity of giving something to Him or doing something for Him.

Another person – this time a disciple of Jesus came to Him, promising to follow the Lord after he had first buried his father (Matthew 8:21-22). It is possible he was the first born male in that family so a lot was expected from him. But the Lord’s reply could only have shocked him too. Jesus was not saying he shouldn’t bury his father. The burial was good but following the Lord was more important. The dead is already dead and burying the corpse could not bring back life, but following Jesus could both assure him of physical and eternal life. The burial was okay but following the Lord was urgent. You should not engage in ceremonies at the expense of following Christ. Also, whenever there is a clash of both, as a true disciple, you must be prepared to make Christ first, not last as this man offered. It also means that you must appreciate the need to follow the Lord above all other earthly consideration. Do you?

To be His disciple, your priorities must be right with Christ at the top.

How often do you remember what Jesus did for you

Forgotten?

Pastor David’s Devotional

John 19:31-42

“Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, ‘Not one of His bones shall be broken.’ And again another Scripture says, ‘They shall look on Him whom they pierced.’ After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.”

NKJV

How often do you remember what Jesus did for you? We can be so quick to forget. Some of this forgetfulness is an instrument of God‘s healing. Sometimes, we forget pain that we suffered and trials we endured. We also forget names, numbers, and sometimes birthdays and even anniversaries. I got married on Valentine’s Day and it helps that the stores put out hearts to help me remember. We tend to forget (or not think about) the most important date of all and the event itself–the crucifixion.

Communion is a time of remembering. Remembering what He did for us. He bled. He died. He took our punishment when He did not have to. Our job? To remember. That is why Jesus told us during communion to remember. Why? The sad fact is, we might forget. Celebrate communion often. Do it at home, do it at work, do it with your parents and do it with your kids.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 “For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” NKJV

Throughout history, we have had slogans like ‘remember the Alamo’ or ‘remember the Maine’. Ours is simple. Remember Jesus.

Life Lesson: We need to realize what Jesus did for us on the cross.

Dear Father,

Let me never forget what Jesus did for me. I thank You for providing a means of forgiveness so that we can know the fullness of Your grace. Help me not only to remember, but to share and not only to share but to show. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

We are Precious in God‘s Sight

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.

Isaiah 43:2, NIV

Have your thoughts been similar to these?

God, where have You been?

Why did You let this happen?

I just don’t understand.

Are you overlooking the fact that Jesus has drawn near to you?

Are you blinded to His presence by your own tears?

Are you deafened to His gentle voice by your own accusations?

While God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we ask Him to, He does promise in His Word that He will be present with us in the midst of our suffering and pain. He said, “Fear not. . . . When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. . . . For I am the Lord, your God . . . your Saviour; . . . you are precious and honoured in my sight, and . . . I love you” (Isa. 43:1-4, NIV).

You can overcome that temptation. You can stand out

You can overcome that temptation. You can stand out

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 1:14

In his letter to the church in Sardis, after stating their terrible state, the Lord stated that there were a few of them who were undefiled who would walk with Him. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Revelation 3:4

As horrible as Sardis was, there were a few people who held on to their faith in Christ. One revelation you need to hold unto from this is that: Your faith in Christ can triumph even in the most sinful era ever possible to man. No matter the temptations or levels of corruption around you; no matter the pressure you are faced with; if you hold on to your faith in Christ, you will be a victor. This also shows that when many fall in the midst of trials, temptations and pressure, it is not because the grace of God has grown weaker or that God has become powerless or unfaithful to His promises, but because the one in the middle of it all chooses to give in to sin. You are the only one that can separate yourself from His love, not the contrary forces.

This was also the submission of Paul in Romans 8:35-39. He says he is persuaded that nothing can separate us from Christ. What is separating you from His love today? Is that excuse acceptable by God? If your excuse for wanting to join your peers, co-workers, co-students, or other people in your community to violate God’s Word is in Paul’s list, then you have no excuse. Today, it is common place for pastors to sleep with church members and pretend as if all is well. Even if all pastors fall victim to this practice, you should not be one of them. Like a prominent man of God wrote: “Others may but I cannot” . you can be different. You can stand out for good! You can be among the faithful few in your family, neighbourhood, community or nation.

DON’T GIVE UP YOUR FAITH EVEN FOR A SECOND! STAY IN CHRIST!

The excuse you give for failing God is the exhibit satan needs to nail you.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Be Fruitful

Be fruitful

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3

Part of the characteristics of a living thing is reproduction and growth. A christen reproduces by winning souls and ought to grow in fellowship with and in service to the LORD. This is what it means to bear fruits. The Lord is not happy with any part of His body that bears no fruit; He says such will eventually be cut off (John 15:2). But the Lord does not desire for any part of His to be cut off hence he sends this warning: Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die. For I have not found thy works perfect before God. (Revelation 3:2)

One way you can strengthen the good things that are fast dying in your life or ministry is by evangelism. Many complain today that miracles are not happening in their ministry. How will they when you do not go out? If you do not go, they will not follow. Your potentials in the miraculous can never be fully realised until Heaven is satisfied that you have obeyed the Master’s last command – Go!

Another way you can strengthen the things that are about to die is by giving. You may say you cannot play an active part in giving because of financial handicap; but you can give other things – Time, Intellect, Voice, Hands, Legs, Energy, Your Whole Self, etc. however, lay a solid foundation of service and giving. You will surely reap! What is that good thing that is about to die? Fire it with zeal, more commitment and dedication today.

Ask God for grace to serve Him acceptably. Have you met your evangelism target for this quarter? Ensure this before the quarter ends.

God bless Us! Amen!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

God still speaks

……but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my Word. Isaiah 66:2b

One clear fact from the scriptures is that God speaks. Psalm 62:11 say: “God has spoken; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

There is power in every Word of God. It is therefore very important that you hear what God is saying to the church (Revelation 2:7). When the Lord speaks, it is sometimes quiet especially when He speaks through the still small voice. At such times, if you are not quiet and sensitive, you may miss what He is trying to say. This is why Exodus 15:26 says you must diligently hearken to all He has to say. It is common for people to listen to the sweet and interesting passages of the Bible but skip the aspects that are hard to receive. A wise fellow will listen to all and observe everything.

Every year, the Lord gives us prophecies and warnings. Many people ignore the warnings until they see what prayer could have prevented, happening in their midst. When the Lord speaks of some unpleasant occurrences, it is to inform us before hand so that we are not caught unawares. If He says war is coming, it is either you run or get ready. I would prefer the fellow who would criticise and warn me so that I do not get into trouble to the fellow who will assure me all is well, but I get into an unknown trap. Those who rebuke you or show you those your short comings are your true friends. The one who says there is no one like you will be there to repeat that when you have died out of carelessness. It is truth that sets free. Until you access the truth, you will remain in bondage. What do you want to hear? Do you crave for patronising messages or do you want to hear the truth?

The type of message people want to hear influences where they worship. Are you where you are because of what you want to hear or because of what God wants you to hear?

Trust in the Lord and fear no man, for God is your Helper

Proverbs 29:25 says: “The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” Sometimes we fear what men can do to us. We should never fear this way because God is greater than man. Man does not hold your eternity. Man does not even hold your tomorrow. Man does not hold your well-being; only God does. So don’t fear men anymore because God is your helper.

Don’t fear men!

The Lord will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm

Joel 2:25-27

Mark 5:25-34 gives us an account of the woman with the issue of blood. I suppose that when her situation started, she thought she was just menstruating until the blood flow refuse to stop. There is a reader of this blog who is going through a state of continuous loss. The LORD is terminating that loss and stabilising you from now, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! As you see the manifestation, go and share your testimony in the midst of God’s people!

The woman with the issue of blood lost a lot. She lost her health. She once was rich but the sickness took away all her wealth. But on the day of her visitation, when she met The LORD, she got back all she had lost. Whatever good things you have lost, you shall recover them this season in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! Have you lost your position in the society? It is possible to regain it. This was the case with King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4:28-37). As King, he lost his kingdom, sanity, humanity, glory, honour, etc. yet he recovered all. No matter what you have lost, you shall recover them this season, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! That organization you were sacked from will soon have vacancy for you again. Know also that it is possible to have your wasted time and wasted years restored to you. How magnanimous is Our God! He promised to restore all that the locust, cankerworm, caterpillar and palmerworm have taken out of your life (Joel 2:25-27). Every loss of time and chance that you may have encountered shall be restored to you in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! Those who say: “Opportunity lost can never be regained” did not take God into consideration because all things are possible with Him (Luke 1:37). Has your years been wasted by the enemy? You will get them back! Amen! Are you mourning because you have not been able to enjoy God’s blessings and yet you are aging? The Lord will restore your lost years, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! He has control over life. He can choose to add to your life the years that you have lost. Restoration is coming your way, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, You are the only means of recovering lost years; restore to me my wasted years in Jesus Christ Name, I pray! Amen!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry

Psalm 40:1

Like you, I’ve spent my life waiting – waiting to see a doctor, waiting for my turn to board a plane in a crowded airport terminal, waiting for someone to call, waiting
in a checkout line at the grocery store. Some waits are mundane, some are outright
boring, and some are filled with anxiety. The real question is, what’s happening
within us while we wait? How are we spending our time in that wait?

In that grocery store line, or that airport terminal, or that doctor’s office, are
we spending time with the Lord? So much of our lives are filled with anxieties and
worries, and yet, we have heard so many people say, “I have no time to pray, or
read the Bible. My life is too hectic.” Yet, we all spend so much of our lives waiting
here or there. What if we would choose to spend those waiting times in prayer? What
would happen to us while we wait?

I love Psalm 40:1 that says, “I waited patiently for the Lord and He inclined to
me and heard my cry.” I love it because, just as I wait patiently for the Lord,
the Lord is also patiently waiting for me to call on Him.

Our waiting times in life may just be the time that transforms our lives.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, in these quiet times of waiting in life, I draw near to You in
prayer. Cradle me in Your loving arms as I worship Your Holy name. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet (He forgave their sin before they even committed it. He offered mercy before they even sought it)

It has been a long day. Jerusalem is packed with Passover guests, most of whom clamor for a glimpse of the Teacher. The spring sun is warm. The streets are dry. And the disciples are a long way from home. A splash of cool water would be refreshing.

The disciples enter [the room], one by one, and take their places around the table. On the wall hangs a towel, and on the floor sits a pitcher and a basin. Any one of the disciples could volunteer for the job, but not one does.

After a few moments, Jesus stands and removes his outer garment. He wraps a servant’s girdle around his waist, takes up the basin, and kneels before one of the disciples. He unlaces a sandal and gently lifts the foot and places it in the basin, covers it with water, and begins to bathe it. One by one, one grimy foot after another, Jesus works his way down the row.

In Jesus’ day the washing of feet was a task reserved not just for servants but for the lowest of servants…The servant at the bottom of the totem pole was expected to be the one on his knees with the towel and basin.

In this case the one with the towel and basin is the king of the universe. Hands that shaped the stars now wash away filth. Fingers that formed mountains now massage toes. And the one before whom all nations will one day kneel now kneels before his disciples. Hours before his own death, Jesus’ concern is singular. He wants his disciples to know how much he loves them…

You can be sure Jesus knows the future of these feet he is washing. These twenty-four feet will not spend the next day following their master, defending his cause. These feet will dash for cover at the flash of a Roman sword. Only one pair of feet won’t abandon him in the garden. One disciple won’t desert him at Gethsemane—Judas won’t even make it that far! He will abandon Jesus that very night at the table…

What a passionate moment when Jesus silently lifts the feet of his betrayer and washes them in the basin!

Jesus knows what these men are about to do. He knows they are about to perform the vilest act of their lives. By morning they will bury their heads in shame and look down at their feet in disgust. And when they do, he wants them to remember how his knees knelt before them and he washed their feet…

He forgave their sin before they even committed it. He offered mercy before they even sought it.

When you follow Christ, it is what you seek you will get

And when He was entered into a ship, His disciples followed him (Matthew 8:2)

In today’s reading, our Lord Jesus Christ was thronged round about by a crowd as was their custom. We can learn some salient truths from this account. First, many people have different reasons for following the Lord, most of which are selfish. He directly confronted some of such seekers:

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled (John 6:26)

They were part of the five thousand who were fed with five barley loaves and two fishes. They were not thrilled by the miracle, but by the fact that they came hungry and He gave them food to eat. To say the least, the Lord was disappointed. Why are you seeking the Lord? If it is just for food, you are not better than these people and what the Lord said to them, he is saying to you:

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for Him hath God the Father sealed. (John 6:27)

When you seek God, seek Him not just for carnal blessings, but especially for spiritual blessings. Seek to know Him. Seek to hear His Voice distinctly. Seek to have Him fill your life. Seek to see more of His power operating through you. Seek to carry more of His presence. Why do you seek Him?

Moreover, after the crowd gathered, the Lord ordered them to go to the other side. For many of them, that was the end of their following Christ at least for that moment. Majority of the crowd went home. They were not prepared to pay any price. Only the disciples followed Him(Matthew 8:23). Certain instructions of God are given to sift between believers and disciples. If you are not prepared to pay a price for your love or service of God, you can never be His disciple. One mark of Christ’s disciples is that they follow Him. They hear His Voice and immediately gear their lives in that direction. Are you follower of Jesus Christ? To what extent do you fellow his instructions? If you will serve God at your convenience, you cannot be His disciple.

When you follow Christ, it is what you seek you will get. Many who follow Him end up with mundane things and not Christ because He was never their focus.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The Secret Things Belong Unto The Lord Our God

The secret things belong unto the Lord Our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 29:29)

One Bible character who had access to great revelations through the help of the Holy Spirit was Ezekiel.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, Ezekiel 37:1

The children of Israel at this point in time were groaning under Babylonian captivity. They saw themselves as withered away and having no hope (Ezekiel 37:11). It took Ezekiel’s being in the Spirit, and connecting with the Holy Spirit to discover what God had in store for them; to help them see that captivity was not their end but rather God was going to restore them back to the Promised Land (Ezekiel 37:12-14). Our God is the Custodian of secrets. However, there are some of His secret we need for our benefit as well as for the benefit of our loved ones, church members, etc. until we through our spirit man link up with the Holy Spirit, we may be denied such revelations. May you not be denied the secrets you need to enter your destiny in Jesus Christ Name! Amen! This explains why it is good to go into God’s presence on Sunday morning fasting. Also, it is very beneficial to pray in the spirit at least one or two hours daily. How often are you in spirit?

As a Christian, you choose either to walk in the spirit or in the flesh (carnal). The spiritual growth of a carnal Christian is pegged, except the fellow decide to deal with the flesh. As long as you allow or tolerate carnality in your life, you may not be able to access deep spiritual truths that can change your life and that of others. Galatians 5:17 says the flesh and the spirit are in opposition. To walk in the spirit, discipline the flesh. Your flesh craves for pleasure and loves to be indulged in things contrary to the spirit. Deny it! The extent of your spiritual ascent is determined by the degree to which you deny or subdue your flesh. To successfully keep your flesh under like Paul, you must be prepared to cooperate with The Holy Spirit. Screen what you see, read or watch. Destroy any lust breeding material such as in tapes, CDs, DVDs, printed materials, internet, etc. deliberately choose the television programmes you watch. Hear no evil, touch no evil and see no evil.

Every divine secret you need to know but you fail to get will cause you regrets. Ask God for the revelation of every secret you need to know now!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
