I will never again be an emotional dumpsite for my friends! Thank GOD for good family members!
Now am literally messed up!
If there were awards for “THE BEST SHOULDERS TO LEAN ON” my shelves would have been filled with those awards. Everybody thinks I have solutions to their challeneges and it could be annoying and frustrating at times!
8 years ago, a friend was going through a messy divorce, he will call me from time to time, after a while the calls started becoming too frequent for comfort. Baba will call 10 times in a day to say absolutely nothing that made sense.
One day I was fed up “Oga wetin dey sup? Your calls are becoming too frequent and annoying. Men don call men 20 time a day to just check up on them? ”
I had to rant Oooo!
Bobo was quiet at the other end of the call, but his wheezy let me know he was there.
After long silence, he said in an emotional laden voice “Guy I am lonely……I don’t have anybody to talk to but you”
Damn! I was disarmed and I said “Sorry Boss! It has been trying times for you! You can call me whenever you want”
“Thanks Bros! You are a life saver” and I said “You’re welcome”
In all honesty, I thought my guy will move on after a couple of weeks, find another lady, fall in love and stop calling me, but one month turned to 6 months, 6 months turned to 2 years, two years turned to 8 years.
8 torturous years of listening to someone bla – away! How did I even surive this torture? I don’t even know.
Finally, last year October, Baba met a young lady, fell in love and hardly called again!
Intially I was very happy, I no longer have to switch off my phone everytime I want to sleep to avoid his calls.
Now my battery also last longer than before!
But I hate to admit this!
I MISSED THOSE ANNOYING CALLS now! I no go lie
I stare at my phone, expecting his calls, some other times I could hear his voice in my head.
Baba no dey reason me again!
It feels like some withdrawal syndrome!
I feel like plotting my own revenge!
Oga it is time for you to pick up my 20 calls a day for 8 years!
Never again will anyone heap his or her emotional baggage on me!
