10 signs that shows you haven’t fully surrendered to God
You only surrender the things you can’t control, but hold tightly to the things you can.
You trust God with the big problems, but struggle to surrender your plans, relationships, desires, or timeline to Him.
Proverbs 16:3 says,
“Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.”
You keep trying to force doors God hasn’t opened.
Instead of waiting on His timing, you become frustrated when things aren’t happening the way you expected and try to make them happen yourself.
Psalm 37:7 says,
“Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act.”
You keep going back to what God called you out of.
You know certain habits, situations, or patterns aren’t producing the life God is calling you toward, but you keep returning because they’re familiar.
Luke 9:62 says,
“Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”
You seek everyone else’s confirmation before trusting what God has already shown you.
You keep asking people what they think because you’re afraid to move forward without their approval, even when you’ve already prayed and sought God.
Galatians 1:10 says,
“Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people but of God.”
You struggle to accept that God’s answer may look different from what you prayed for.
You say, “Your will be done,” but secretly expect God to answer according to your exact plan, timing, and expectations.
Luke 22:42 says,
“Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
You pray for peace, but your mind still replays every possible worst-case scenario because deep down you feel like everything depends on you.
Proverbs 3:5 says,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
You keep asking God for direction, but you already know there are things, habits, environments, or people He has been telling you to release.
Isaiah 30:21 says,
“Whether you turn to the right or to the lett, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it!”
You constantly feel mentally exhausted because you’re carrying responsibilities, outcomes, and worries God never asked you to carry alone.
1 Peter 5:7 says,
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
You struggle to rest emotionally because even while praying, you are still trying to control how, when, and where everything will happen.
Matthew 11:28 says,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
You say you trust God, but your life is still being led by worry, overthinking, emotional attachment, and the need to control every outcome.
Isaiah 26:3 says,
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you!”

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your Will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
