Jesus lives

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Jesus lives! Thy terrors now

Can, O death, no more appal

us,

Jesus lives! By this we know

Thou, O grave, canst not

enthrall us

Hallelujah!

 Jesus lives! Henceforth is death

Entrance gate of life immortal;

This shall calm our trembling

breath

When we pass its gloomy

portal.

Hallelujah!

 Jesus lives! For us He died

Hence may we, to Jesus living,

Pure in heart and act abide,

Praise to Him and glory giving

Hallelujah!

 Jesus lives! Our hearts know

well

Nought from us His love shall sever,

Life, nor death, nor powers of hell,

Part us now from Christ for

ever.

Hallelujah!

Jesus lives! To Him the throne

High over heaven and earth is given;

We may go where He is gone

Live and reign with Him in

heaven.

Hallelujah!

On wings of living light.

Isaiah_40-31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint

Isaiah_40-31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint

On wings of living light,

At earliest dawn of day,

Came down the angel bright,

And rolled the stone away,

Your voices raise with one accord,

To bless and praise your risen Lord.

The keepers watching near,

At that dread sight and sound

Fell down with sudden fear,

Like dead men, to the ground.

Then rose from death’s dark

gloom,

Unseen by mortal eye,

Triumphant over the tomb,

The Lord of earth and sky

Ye children of the light

Arise with Him, arise;

See how the Day-star bright

Is burning in the skies!

 Leave in the grave beneath,

The old things passed away;

Buried with Him in death,

O live with Him to-day.

We sing Thee, Lord divine,

With all our hearts and

powers:

For we are ever Thine.

And Thou art ever ours.

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

The Lord is risen indeed

Psalms_24-1: A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein

The Lord is risen indeed.

Now is his work performed;

Now is the mighty captive freed,

And deaths strong castle stormed.

‘The Lord is risen indeed.’

The grave has lost his prey;

With Him is risen the ransomed

seed;

To reign in endless day.

 ‘The Lord is risen indeed.’

He lives, to die no more;

He lives, the sinner’s cause to plead,

Whose curse and shame he

 ‘The Lord is risen indeed.’

Attending angels hear

Up to the courts of heaven with

speed

The joyful tidings bear.

Then, angels, tune your lyres,

And strike each cheerful chord:

Join, all ye bright celestial choirs,

To sing our risen Lord!

Morning Prayer Points For Help. Have You Ever Taken The Time To Ask The Holy Spirit To Reveal Your True Destination To You?

Romans_8-28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose

Romans_8-28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose

Romans 8:13-14

“For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father! I believe You have designed a perfect path for me. I believe every bolder, stone; waterfall and tree in my path are designed personally by You for Your own reasons. I believe this grand design is “training me for reigning” in the eternity to come – and I am blessed to be part of what You are revealing, as I seek You out.

Every day of my life I see You at work. Your dream for my life has become my dream for my life. Your plans and goals – Your deeper works, Your constant – sometimes overwhelming Presence – is leading me to a great place of peace that I never even knew existed.

I thank You that You are helping me to see myself as You see me – as You give me plans, goals and purposes for persevering. You are also helping me to see that there are great riches You have stored up in my heavenly bank account – and that these riches are everlasting.

In spite of my own weaknesses, You have taught me to surrender, to seek You out so I can learn more about You and Your nature. My goal is to be given more of You – to walk each day closer with You than I did the day before.

I must admit that many days I barely have the strength to put one foot in front of the other. However, even then You draw me to Yourself – reminding me it is not about the “doing”, but about the “becoming” – and that I can trust You for the process.

Thank You that You work to bring all the areas of my life under Your control. You never miss a beat – You are never early or late – but perfect in Your timing. Your touch is gentle, as You teach me to lay down my own agenda and “follow You”.

Help me to respond to Your touch! Help me to see with the eyes You give me to see, those areas of my life that need to be surrendered. Teach me to stop looking at the things that are “not”, and concentrate instead on Your grace and mercy – which gets me through anything.

I give You full permission to train my mind, will, emotions – turning them over to the full control of Your Holy Spirit. I want to take my thoughts captive to Your wisdom and revelation. It is foolish to trust in the things of my own understanding, when I have the Holy Spirit Himself in residence – every day!

As You continue to work in me, help me to focus on You, my Creator, so that I can see things the way You see them. Your Holy Spirit is always there to give me alternatives to the “prison” I have made for myself. He is willing to help me knock down those prison walls as He gives me comfort for grief, mercy instead of anger – and joy in place of sadness.

I stand firmly on my belief that “there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” I further believe that You reward those who follow You and live as You direct – never condemning us for our mistakes, but giving us Your mercy when we fail.

Thank You that I can come new and fresh to You every day – and You will meet me, unfolding Your dreams into my life. What an awesome privilege we have been given! To You Jesus be all the honor and the glory, Amen!

Have you ever taken the time to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Your true destination to you? Have You ever asked Him for “oneness” with Himself? As you live out each day in oneness with Christ Himself, you will begin to see true fruitfulness in your life. Remember, “apart from God we can do nothing”. Our joy every day should be to come to Him – “having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus.” We can live out each day in confidence as He helps us to see the dreams and plans He has for our lives. Our goal should be to ask Jesus to take over the areas of our lives that need His touch – remembering that we are sometimes very blind to our own needs. As we learn to submit our minds, wills and emotions to the Holy Spirit, we begin to see transformation take place. We begin to see God as He truly is – our Creator and our Bridegroom! Jesus should be our greatest goal -to live with Him and to abide in the life He has designed for us. The enemy has no authority over that lifestyle because Jesus Himself has already won the “victory”!

Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!

There Are Secret Rooms Not Yet Opened To Us; Jesus Invites Us To Enter Them, But We Always Hold Back

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hosea 11:4

I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

Our heavenly Father often draws us with the cords of love; but ah! How backward we are to run towards Him! How slowly do we respond to His gentle impulses! He draws us to exercise a more simple faith in Him; but we have not yet attained to Abraham’s confidence; we do not leave our worldly cares with God, but, like Martha, we cumber ourselves with much serving.

Our meagre faith brings leanness into our souls; we do not open our mouths wide, though God has promised to fill them. Does He not this evening draw us to trust Him? Can we not hear Him say, “Come, My child, and trust Me. The veil is rent; enter into My presence, and approach boldly to the throne of My grace. I am worthy of thy fullest confidence, cast thy cares on Me. Shake thyself from the dust of thy cares, and put on thy beautiful garments of joy.”

 But, alas! Though called with tones of love to the blessed exercise of this comforting grace, we will not come. At another time He draws us to closer communion with Himself. We have been sitting on the doorstep of God’s house, and He bids us advance into the banqueting hall and sup with Him, but we decline the honour. There are secret rooms not yet opened to us; Jesus invites us to enter them, but we hold back. Shame on our cold hearts! We are but poor lovers of our sweet Lord Jesus, not fit to be His servants, much less to be His brides, and yet He hath exalted us to be bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh, married to Him by a glorious marriage-covenant. Herein is love! But it is love which takes no denial. If we obey not the gentle drawings of His love, He will send affliction to drive us into closer intimacy with Himself. Have us nearer He will. What foolish children we are to refuse those bands of love, and so bring upon our backs that scourge of small cords, which Jesus knows how to use!

Jesus Does not Respond To Us Based On What We Deserve To Get

Ephesians_6-1: Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right

Ephesians_6-1: Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right

A wise friend once said to me, “If you give your kids only what they deserve, you will rob them of a healthy life. Don’t give them what they deserve; give them what they need. Just like Jesus does for us!”

Deuteronomy_6-7: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deuteronomy_6-7: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Raising Godly Children. Parenting With Grace

Jesus doesn’t respond to us based on what we deserve to get. He responds based on what we need. He provides for our needs even though we are undeserving. He died for us while we were still in rebellion against him. He allows us to grow. He doesn’t force us to clean up our act before he comes into our lives. He meets our needs and gives us the grace and the space to grow.

When I thought about how difficult it was to see my kids develop some troubling characteristics, even belligerence and rebellion, I suddenly saw the parallel with our Father God and all of his children. Every one of us is rebellious. We pout. We shout “No!” in our spirits. We sneak around doing what we know we ought not to do. And yet He accepts us wherever we are. He refuses to abandon us or give us what we so richly deserve; he pours great rivers of (amazing) grace into our lives. As David marveled,

He Does Not Treat Us As Our Sins Deserve

Or Repay Us According To Our Iniquities.

For As High As The Heavens Are Above The Earth,

So Great Is His Love For Those Who Fear Him;

As Far As The East Is From The West,

So Far Has He Removed Our Transgressions From Us.

As A Father Has Compassion On His Children,

So The Lord Has Compassion On Those Who Fear Him.

(Psalm 103:10-13)

Thinking about the grace of God will help you become a grace giver to your children. Their imperfections help you to see your own. Accepting them as they are helps you to taste the wonder of how God accepts you as you are.

Mothers Teach Us Some Of The Most Valuable Lessons, And They Can Last Us A Lifetime By Denise Burns

Mothers play many roles. A mother can be a cook, a maid, a repairman, a counselor, and a chauffeur all in one day. But I think the greatest role a mother can ever have is that of a teacher. Mothers teach us some of the most valuable lessons, and they can last us a lifetime.

My mother, Lynette Hagin, taught me four life lessons growing up that have helped me live a godly life. I believe all of us who are mothers can strive to teach and model these lessons before our children to help them excel in life for God.

Exodus_20-12: King James Bible Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee

Exodus_20-12: King James Bible Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee

  1. The God-Kind of Love

The first lesson I learned from my mother is to love the way God loves. When I was a junior high cheerleader, our mascot was a penguin. My mother decided to make 15 penguins so each girl on my cheerleading team would have one. She didn’t have a lot of extra time, but she wanted to do this. She stayed up night after night and made all 15 penguins by hand, and the girls were happy when they saw them. She certainly sacrificed her time and energy for us.

God gave the ultimate sacrifice for us when He sent His Son, and my mother always modeled that love. She taught me that love means giving.

  1. Forgive Others as Christ Forgave Us

A second lesson I learned from my mother is to forgive others as Christ forgave us (Eph. 4:32). My mom is one of the most forgiving people I know. I’ve watched many times when people mistreated and hurt her and how she would just forgive them. It would upset me as a young girl when she did that. I didn’t like to see my mother hurt. I would say, “Mom, get them back. Do something mean to them.” But she would say, “We must forgive, because when we’re in unforgiveness, it just hurts us.”

That stayed with me as she modeled that. When I’m tempted to hold a grudge, I can hear my mother’s voice saying, “No, Sweetie. You have to forgive like Christ forgave you.” And I do.

  1. Be Slow to Become Angry

A third lesson my mother taught me was to be patient. She practiced James 1:19, “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry” (NIV). As I grew up, I gave my mother many opportunities to practice patience.

During my high school sophomore year, I was involved in a musical. I practiced every day after school. When the progress reports came out, I was failing in chemistry. I showed my mother the report. Being the wonderful and patient mother that she is, we talked about it and worked it out together. She helped me see that chemistry was a bigger priority than the musical. I ended up passing chemistry.

  1. Be Committed to the Things of God

A fourth lesson my mother taught me is to be committed to the things of God. I’ve watched her serve Him all of my life. I’ve watched her pray, use her faith, and read her Bible. I’ve seen how He has come through for her every time. I am so thankful for my heritage of her commitment to Him.

Having that same commitment to the things of God has brought me far. It has taken me through the hardest times. I will be forever grateful for the example that my mother continues to model before me of following Him.

Looking back, I don’t think my mother meant to teach me about love, forgiveness, patience, and commitment. She just did it through her example. As mothers, we often think our children aren’t paying attention to us, but they are watching us. We can model these same four lessons for our children. We can teach them through our example to love like God loves, forgive others, be slow to become angry, and remain committed to God. As we do, our children will follow our example and excel in life for Him.

If sinners join their hands

2-Corinthians_5-21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

2-Corinthians_5-21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

If sinners join their hands

And rise against the Lord,

Rebel against the Christ,

And despise the great King;

The world may mock,

Satan may threat,

It’s all deceipts,

It’s all in vain.

Our risen Saviour reigns,

On Zion’s holy hill,

It is the Lord’s decree

Upholds and keeps His Son

From the cold tomb

He bids Him rise

And to ascend

That He might save.

O serve the Lord in fear,

Revere His blest command

With gladness come to Him

In awe stand before Him

Bow down the knee

And prostrate fall

Tell of His might

Kiss thou the Son.

Day of resurrection

Philippians_3-10: All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death

Philippians_3-10: All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death

The day of resurrection!

Earth, tell it out abroad;

The Passover of gladness,

The Passover of God!

From death to life eternal,

From earth unto the sky;

Our Christ hath brought us over

With hymns of victory.

Our hearts be pure from evil,

That we may see aright

The Lord in rays eternal

Of resurrection light,

And, listening to His accents,

May hear, so calm and plain,

His own “All hail!” and hearing,

May raise the victor-strain.

Now let the heavens be joyful;

Let earth her song begin;

The round world keep high

triumph,

And all that is therein;

Let all things seen and unseen,

Their notes of gladness blend:

For Christ the Lord hath risen,

Our joy that hath no end.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Ephesians_1-3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Ephesians_1-3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Hearts to heaven and voices raise;

Sing to God a hymn of gladness,

Sing to God a hymn of praise!

He who on the cross a victim

For the world’s salvation bled,

If Jesus Christ, the King of Glory,

Now is risen from the dead.

Now the iron bars are broken,

Christ from death to life is born,

Glorious life, and life immortal,

On this holy Easter morn:

Christ has triumphed, and we

conquer

By His mighty enterprise,

We with Him to life eternal

By His resurrection rise.

Christ is risen, Christ the first fruits;

Of the holy harvest-field;

Which will all its full abundance

At His second coming yield;

Then the golden ears of harvest,

Will their heads before Him wave,

Ripened by His glorious sunshine,

From the furrows of the grave.

Christ is risen; we are riser

Shed upon us heavenly grace.

Rain and dew and gleams of

glory

From the brightness of Thy

face,

That we, Lord, with hearts in

heaven,

Here on earth may fruitful be,

And by angel-hands be

gathered,

And be ever safe with Thee.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Glory be to God on High;

Hallelujah to the Saviour,

Who has gained the victory;

Hallelujah to the Spirit,

Fount of love and sanctity;

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

To the Triune Majesty.

On the resurrection morning

John_11-25: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live

John_11-25: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live

On the resurrection morning

Soul and body meet again;

No more sorrow, no more

weeping

No more pain!

Here a while they must be parted,

And the flesh its Sabbath keep,

Waiting in a holy stillness,

Wrapt in sleep.

For a while the tired body

To its resting-place its borne

Till there dawns the last and

brightest

Easter morn.

But the soul in contemplation

Utters earnest prayer and strong,

 Breaking at the resurrection Into song.

Soul and body reunited

Thenceforth nothing shall divide

Waking up in Christ’s own likeness,

Satisfied.

Oh! the beauty, oh! the gladness

Of that resurrection day

Which shall not through endless ages

Pass away!

On that happy Easter morning

All the graves their dead restore;

Father, mother, child, and brethren

Meet once more.

To that brightest of all meetings

Bring us, Jesus Christ, at last;

To Thy cross, through death and judgment,

Holding fast.

Amen!

The strife is over the battle done:

The victory of life is won;

The song of triumph has begun,

Alleluia!

The powers of death have done their worst

But Christ their legions hath dispersed,

Let shouts of holy joy outburst. Alleiuia!

The three sad days have quickly sped,

He rises glorious from the dead,

All glory to our risen Head, Alleluia!

He brake the age bound chains of hell,

The bars from heaven’s high portals fell,

Let hymns of praise His triumph

tell;

Alleluia!

Lord, by the stripes which wounded Thee,

From death’s dread sting Thy servants free,

That we may live, and sing to Thee,

Christ the Lord is risen today! Hallelujah!

Sons of men and angels say, Hallelujah!

Raise your songs and triumphs high: Hallelujah!

Sing! ye heavens; thou earth reply; Hallelujah!

Love’s redeeming work is done,

Fought the fight, the battle won:

Lo! our sun’s eclipse is over;

 Lo! he sets in blood no more:

Vain the stone, the watch, the seal,

Christ hath burst the gates of hell;

Death in vain forbids Him rise,

Christ hath opened Paradise.

Lives again our glorious King:

Where, O death, is now thy sting?

Once He died our souls to save;

Where’s thy victory, O grave?

Soar we now where Christ hath led,

Following our exalted Head:

Made like Him, like Him we rise;

Ours the cross, the grave, the skies.

Hail! the Lord of earth and heaven;

Praise to Thee by both be given,

Thee we greet triumphant now:

Hail ! the Resurrection, Thou!

1-Corinthians_1-18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God

Extended on a cursed tree,

Besmeared with dust, and sweat, and blood,

See there, the King of Glory see!

Sinks and expires the Son of God.

 Who, who my Saviour, this hath done?

Who could Thy sacred body wound?

No guilt Thy spotless heart hath known,

No guile bath in Thy lips been found.

 I, I alone, have done the dead!

“Tis I Thy sacred flesh have torn;

My sins have caused Thee,

Lord, to bleed,

Pointed the nail, and fixed the thorn.

 The burden, for me to sustain

Too great, on Thee, my Lord, was laid;

To heal me, Thou hast borne my pain;

To bless me, Thou a curse wast made.

 My Saviour, how shall I proclaim?

How pay the mighty debt I owe?

let all I have and all I am,

Ceaseless to all Thy glory show.

 Too much to Thou I cannot give:

Too much I cannot do for Thee

Let all Thy love and all Thy grief,

Graven on my heart for ever be

Let Us Sing A Song That Will Cheer Us By The Way

Psalms_100-2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing

Let Us Sing A Song That Will Cheer Us By The Way,

In a little while we re going home;

For the night wñl end in the everIasting day

In a little while we’re going home.

In a little while, in a little while

(In a little while, In a little while)

We shall cross the billow’s

foam.

We shall meet at last.

When the stormy winds are past,

In a little while we ‘re going home,

We will do the work that our hands may find to do

In a little while we re going home;

And the grace of God will our daily strength renew,

In a little while we re going home.

We will smooth the path for some weary, way-worn feet,

In a little while we re going home;

O may loving hearts spread around an influence sweet!

In a little while we are going home.

There’s a rest beyond, there’s relief from every care,

In a little while we re going home;

And no tears shall fall in that city bright and fair,

In a little while we ‘re going home.

Barrister Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa Threatens To Drag President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari To Court

Barrister Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa Threatens To Drag President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari To Court

Barrister Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa Threatens To Drag President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari To Court

Lagos lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegoruwa has threatened to drag president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari to court, for asking Nigerians to stop calling him “General” from May 29.

A statement by his Media Director, Mallam Garba Shehu, had stated that: “From May 29, 2015, the President-elect and Vice-President-elect are to be respectively known and addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

Reacting, the lawyer described the statement as shocking and unacceptable.

He argues that by virtue of Buhari’s membership of the Nigerian Army, he became Head of State, and earned salaries and benefits even when he contested elections in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015.

Adegboruwa warned that should Buhari ignore his appeal, by insisting on denying his past, whilst he continues to earn salaries and benefits through the same rank that he seeks to jettison, “I shall file a suit before the Federal High Court, to seek an injunction to restrain the President-elect from denying his official and legal titles, or alternatively, to give up, pay back and restore, all the pensions, salaries and benefits that he has so far earned, either as a commissioned officer of the Nigerian Army, or as a former military Head of State.”

PRESS RELEASE ON BUHARI’S STATUS

MAJOR-GENERAL MUHAMMADU BUHARI (Retd.), AN ARMY GENERAL FOR LIFE

I have read the press statement of the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), indicating that as from May 29, 2015, he would like to be addressed simply as Muhammadu Buhari, without reflecting his official designation as a retired officer in the Nigerian Army.

This is totally shocking, and rather unacceptable. I therefore humbly urge all Nigerians to disregard this appeal from the President-elect, as it is illegal and immoral, upon the following reasons.

  1. Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.) is the official and legal status, title, designation and appellation of our dear President-elect. He has no choice in the matter but to continue to carry this cross, for life.

  1. The military in Nigeria and the world over, is a dignified professional institution, built upon the solid foundations of discipline, selflessness, courage, dignity, loyalty and patriotism. It is an institution that everyone should be proud of, except those of them who were trained and equipped by this noble institution, but chose to capture civilian power, through coup detat.

  1. Under and by virtue of the Armed Forces Act, (s.25) a retired army officer, such as the President-elect, is forever a part and parcel of the Nigerian Army.

  1. Under and by virtue of Paragraph 1(1) of the 1st Schedule of the Armed Forces Pensions Act, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), is entitled to and has indeed been receiving and benefiting from pension, as an officer who held a regular commission, before his retirement.

  1. Major-General Mohammadu Buhari (Retd.) illegally seized power in Nigeria from an elected President, on December 31, 1983 and forcefully crowned himself as Head of State. He forcefully held on to power for 1 year, 239 days, before he was also deposed on August 27, 1985, by General Ibrahim Babangida (Retd.). He is thus a retired commissioned officer of the Nigerian Army and he remains so for as long as he lives.

  1. Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.) attends the Council of State meeting as former Head of State, which office he held in his capacity as a Major-General.

  1. Under and by virtue of section 1 of the Remuneration of Former Presidents and Heads of State Act No. 32 of 1999, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), is entitled to a very fat salary as pension, for life. He is also entitled to the following benefits:

(i) Chief Administrative Officer of not less than Grade Level 12;

(ii) Personal Secretary of not less than Grade Level 12;

(iii) Four armed policemen as his private security;

(iv) A top ranking State Security Service officer as his Aide De Camp;

(v) Three official vehicles to be changed every four years;

(vi) Three drivers to be paid by Federal Government;

(vii) Diplomatic Passport for life;

(viii) Free medical treatment in Nigeria for himself and members of his family;

(ix) Free medical treatment abroad for himself and members of his family;

(x) Thirty days annual leave;

(xi) Well equipped and well furnished office accommodation;

(x) Well equipped and well furnished living apartment, not less than five bedroom duplex;

(xi) Free telephone, etc.

The President-elect became entitled to all the above, by virtue of his membership of the Nigerian Army; he became Head of State, by virtue of his commission as an officer of the Nigerian Army and he has earned these salaries and benefits as such, over the years, even when he contested elections in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015.

(9) The moral question, involved in the President-elect’s sudden change of status, is in the fact that he contested election and canvassed for votes, from Nigerians and he was so voted for, as a retired military general. He should continue to bear and carry that honourable title of Major-General, for as long as he lives.

  1. Thus, so long as Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), is earning his pensions from the Nigerian Army, so long as Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), is earning all his benefits as a former military Head of State and so long as Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), has not changed his name and status in the way recognised by law, the good people of Nigeria, in particular the Nigerian Army, are well urged to continue to address him as a retired Major-General.

PERSONAL APPEAL

From all the foregoing, I therefore humbly appeal to the President-elect, to continue to bear his official name and status, by which he once climbed to power. I do sincerely sympathise with the President-elect, on the very sad and distasteful memories, that this title attracts to him, but it is his cross to carry. Nigerians voted for him, in spite of his past and that should be enough encouragement for him, to strive to erase any negative impression, that it may have occasioned.

The best option for the President-elect, to erase those memories from our hearts, is not by seeking to deny his past, but rather to use his present position, to address the fundamental issues of corruption, epileptic power supply, unemployment, insecurity, infrastructure development and such other issues, that were the subject of his campaign promises.

COURT CASE

Should the President-elect ignore this appeal, by insisting on denying his past, whilst he continues to earn salaries and benefits through the same rank that he seeks to jettison, I shall file a suit before the Federal High Court, to seek an injunction to restrain the President-elect from denying his official and legal titles, or alternatively, to give up, pay back and restore, all the pensions, salaries and benefits that he has so far earned, either a commissioned officer of the Nigerian Army, or as a former military Head of State.

The problem facing Nigerians presently is not about designation, titles or status, but rather that of fulfilment of all the promises made during the campaigns. WE WANT REAL CHANGE, NOW, NOW, NOW!

Thank you all. God bless Nigeria.

My God lives in me

Acts_4-12: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts_4-12: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

For in him we live, and move, and have our beingActs 17:28

God is not far from any one of us. T.L. Osborn said, “No other religion can say what the Christian can say, ‘My God lives in me.’” No other religion can say that because their god is always far off.

The word “Christ” means “the Messiah “or “the Anointed One.” The reality of your redemption is simply “in Him, in Christ.” The word “Christ” is not Jesus’ last name.    If you are in Him, you are in the Anointed One and His anointing flows in you.

It does not take long for the anointing and the reality of the resurrected Christ and the power of God to rise up out of your spirit, hit your soul, go out of your hands, run the devil off, and heal the sick. It does not take long because you are in the Anointed One — you are in Christ — and the Anointed One is in you!

Confession:

I am anointed. I have an unction from the Holy One. I am not confused. I know what I need to do, I know where I need to be, and I know who I need to be with. In Him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are open for me!

Next Time It Could Be You

Galatians_6-9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not

Galatians_6-9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. – (Galatians 6:1)

The way some people behave, you would think that the Bible says, “If another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should first gloat about it and make sure that you condemn him or her for it. Then proceed to tell as many people as possible.”

The Bible doesn’t say that, of course. Here is what it does say: “Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself” (Galatians 6:1).

The idea is to lift up those who are overtaken by sin, not condemn them. The idea is to restore—not destroy—them. Notice this verse says, “You who are godly.” A truly godly man or woman will seek to restore such a person. James 5:19–20 tells us, “My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.”

One day, God forbid, it could be you. We should never lower our guard or rest on our laurels spiritually. No matter how long you have known the Lord, don’t think that you are above falling, because you could fall. Any believer could. That is why we want to always be moving forward, walking with God and progressing spiritually. We never want to coast along in neutral.

And if you know someone who has fallen into sin, then your goal should be to restore, not to destroy. Your goal should be to help him or her, because the next time it could be you.

Amen!
