INTRODUCTION

So far we have discussed what homosexuality really is, societal attitude and what the Bible says about it. Now, we shall be examining the dangers involved in homosexuality, Christian’s response to the homosexual and homosexual marriages.

 

 

 

 

 

THE DANGER INVOLVED

Unlike other sins, this sexual sin has a judgment administered by God Himself: He gives them over to their passions and “to do those things which are not convenient—-in the old sense of that word, that is, “not becoming,” “indecorous,” “shameful.” (Romans 1:26-28). This means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins. As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing- Proverbs 10:17; Hebrews 3:7-10. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance – 2 Corinthians 4:3-4. Without repentance, there will be no forgiveness (Acts 8:22). Without forgiveness, there is no salvation Hebrews 2:3, Romans 5:1; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Romans 10:10.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CHRISTIAN’S RESPONSE TO THE HOMOSEXUAL

Just because someone is gay does not mean that we cannot love him (or her) or pray for them – Leviticus 19:18; 1 Timothy 1:5. Homosexuality is a sin and like any other sin, it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible – Romans 13:9. It needs to be laid at the cross and repented of – Romans 6:6; Ephesians 4:22.

Christians should pray for the salvation of the gay communities the same way they would pray for any other person in sin – James 5:16, 1 Kings 13:6. They should treat gays with the same dignity as they would anyone else because, whether you like it or not, they made in the image of God – Genesis 1:26-27. However, this does not mean that Christians should approve of their sin. Christians should not compromise their witness for a politically correct opinion that is shaped by guilt and fear – Colossians 4:5-6.

 

 

 

 

 

SHOULD GAYS BE ALLOWED TO MARRY ONE ANOTHER

The aching questions in the society and some churches are: Should a woman be allowed to marry another woman? Should a man be allowed to marry another man? Should they be given legal protection and special rights to practice their homosexuality?

Although, our society does not rely on the Bible for its moral truth but on humanistic and relativistic morals upon which it builds its ethical structure, the Bible, of course, condemns homosexuality – Leviticus 18:22, 20:13. It takes no leap of logic to discern that gay marriage is also condemned. Therefore, we must be prayerful, sober and vigilant 1 Peter 5:8-9.

 

 

 

 

 

CONCLUSION

You do not win people to The LORD by condemning them and calling them names. This is why God says to speak with wisdom, grace, and love. Let the love of Christ flow through you so that the homosexuals can see true love and turn to Christ instead of away from Him.

INTRODUCTION:

Today, especially in the western world, homosexuals and lesbians have gained substantial momentum. They have “come out” as the term goes, left their closets. Through television, radio, newspapers and magazines, they are preaching their doctrine of tolerance, equality, justice, and love. They do not want to be perceived as abnormal or dangerous. They want to be recognised and accepted socially, politically etc. in this study we shall examine the biblical perspective and the Christian worldview as touching this subject matter. WHAT IS HOMOSEXUALITY?

Homosexuality is a relationship that involves having sexual intercourse with the people of the same sex. It is referred to as “lesbianism” among the female gender. Homosexuality is not natural. A look at the male and female bodies reveals that they are obviously designed to couple. The natural design is apparent. It is not natural to couple male and male and female with female. Homosexual desires, which may feel natural, are actually unnatural. Other perverted sexual relationships are: paedophilia – an abnormal sexual attraction to children and bestiality – sexual relationship with animals.

 

 

 

 

 

SOCIETAL ATTITUDE

Pro-homosexual politicians and the homosexual community want legal protection for having intercourse with the people of the same sex. They also want their views taught in schools, promoted over the airwaves and codified in literature. The homosexual community also attempts to use political power to try and control the church!

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

The Bible has much to say about homosexuality:

 

 

 

 

 

Genesis 19:45 – “But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

 

 

 

 

 

Leviticus 18:22 – “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

 

 

 

 

 

Leviticus 20:13 – “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

 

 

 

 

 

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

 

 

 

 

 

Romans 1:26-28 – “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

 

 

 

 

 

CONCLUSION:

The Bible surely has crystal clear statements against homosexuality. Hence, it is difficult to see how different groups can say the Bible supports homosexuality. But they try by redefining love, marriage, sex, homosexuality, etc. in order to accomplish their goal. But the truth is that God created man and woman, not man and man, or woman and woman.

The Silence of God

 

 

 

 

 

He who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.

Psalm 32:10, NKJV

Is God silent in your life? What prayers has He not answered for you?

At a time of unanswered prayer in my life years ago, my mother taught me the verse to a hymn that I still quote when I am totally baffled by events that seem to careen out of the orbit of what I have asked:

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,

Trust Him when thy strength is small,

Trust Him when to simply trust Him,

Seems the hardest thing of all.

Is your focus on your immediate need blinding you to a greater purpose that God is working out? Would you choose to be patient and simply trust Him? Sometimes God does not answer our immediate prayer because He has something greater in store for us.

If there is balance in your life, the devil can’t come in. If you have self control, he will not be able to lead you astray. Be sober, be vigilant and remember that the victory of God is in you. The wisdom of God is in you. The power of God is in you.

Thought for the Day

Verse 3 Prudence (the ability to make sound judgments), enables us to avoid Satanic entrapments. It develops as we grow in the knowledge of good and evil by daily walking with God and obeying the principles in His Word. Developing a sensitivity and instant obedience to Gods voice is prudent, because God will warn us of evils that we have no way of knowing about apart from Him. Many Christians testify of having been saved from life-threatening situations because they heard a warning in their hearts from the Lord. The Bible is full of accounts of how the Lord preserved the lives of His children by warning them of danger. Even the life of Jesus, as a child, was saved when an angel of the Lord warned Joseph in a dream to flee Bethlehem (Matthew 2:13-14).
God warned Noah of the coming catastrophic flood, and told him how to build an ark and make provision for survival. God warned Lot and his family of the coming destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and told them to flee. God warned a Pharaoh in Egypt, through a dream, to prepare for seven years of abundance that would be followed by seven years of famine in the days of Joseph. He warned the Israelites in Egypt that the angel of death would kill the first-born of every family and told them to place the blood of a lamb on the lintels and door posts of their houses so that the destroyer would pass over them. God warned Nineveh of impending judgment through Jonah.
The Lord still warns individuals and nations today (through the Bible and His servants) to repent so that they will not be destroyed. When any nations sins reach a certain level, judgment is inevitable if that nation does not repent. God does not desire to see any individual or nation destroyed by the fruit of their own sins. He even spared a heathen nation (the Amorites) for a while longer, until their cup of iniquity was full and He could no longer tolerate their sin. But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full (Genesis 15:16).
Verse 4 We can escape destruction and find riches, and honour by humbling ourselves before the Lord. He wants to bless us. The curses coming upon our nations are not from Him, but are the result of rejecting Him and idolizing such things as materialism, lust, and perversion (Jeremiah 2:19). It is never too late to seek the Lord. He is loving and forgiving, and yearns to bring us into a Promised Land of safety and blessing. He Himself paid the penalty of our sins for us.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you (1 Peter 5:6-10).

Dear Heavenly Father!

Thank You for Your divine protection over me and my family, Lord. I am sure that You have kept me from harm many times, that I was not even aware of. Lord, help me to be prudent and wise in all of my affairs, as I know I bring suffering on myself, when I fail to hear You and proceed in an unwise path. Lord, help me resist evil, and overcome the temptations in my life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for continued safety in these perilous times and may I hear Your warnings, when I need to take any action to avoid trouble and destruction. I ask this in the name of Jesus. “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD God Almighty……..The One who always was, who is, and who is still to come,” (Revelation 4:8)

Isaiah was a prominent citizen of Judah during the eighth century B.C., a prophet of God. Today, we would consider him one of the “spiritual elite.” Isaiah was focused on the sins of others, calling them to repentance.
But at one point, Isaiah had a vision of heaven and the holiness of the GOD ALMIGHTY. Now that he found himself in the very presence of our Holy God, he became dramatically aware of his own sin and unrighteousness. As the seraphim flew they were saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty.” Terrified, he exclaimed, “My destruction is sealed, for I am a sinful man and a member of a sinful race….I have seen the King, the Lord Almighty!” (Isaiah 6:5).
This repetition, “Holy, Holy, Holy,” tells us that God’s holiness is the supreme attribute of His being, the foundation of His eternal existence. His sovereignty and His role as judge are rooted in and flow out of His holiness. In fact, theologians speak of God’s holiness as His “central and supreme perfection.”
Unfortunately, God’s holiness has been ignored by modern Christianity. Our unwillingness to acknowledge a holy God reflects our failure to recognize who God really is.

Your View of God Really Matters …

Do you honour God as Holy or think of Him as “the man upstairs?” Do you treat His name as Holy, or have you cheapened it by what you say and voluntarily choose to listen to? Do you daily worship Him or, more often than not, ignore Him? What do you think it really means in your life today to say that God is Holy?

2 Kings 23:3-4

“Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the LORD all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.”

I’ve met many Christians who know the Bible inside and out. They can quote scripture after scripture, word for word with verse references and even comment on the meaning. I’ve met fewer who actually do The Word Of GOD. This astounds me. What if a 16 year old kid memorizes the driver’s exam study book and aces the exam, but then goes out and runs every red light he comes across? He’s going to get hurt and will probably hurt someone else in the process. The same is true with the Word of God. Think of some Christians on street corners with sandwich boards and megaphones hardening the hearts of everyone around them. They have the ‘head knowledge’ but they have not made the ‘heart application’.

To the other extreme are Christians who use church as a social club. They nod their heads and ‘Amen‘ the pastor, but their day to day life speaks nothing of following Jesus Christ. Solid biblical teaching assigns the hearer the responsibility to act on what they learn. So, where do you fall in this? Are you a Doer or just a Hearer of The Word Of God?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Life Lesson: We need to be acting on the Word of God.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me. Please forgive me for times when I have failed to live by Your Word. I thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to make doing what You tell me the priority in my life. Help me to love You and to love others. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

 

“I will make the people who oppose you afraid of me; I will bring confusion among the people against whom you fight, and I will make all your enemies turn and run from you. (Exodus 23:27)

One of the benefits of God’s presence is fame. In the world, people go to ridiculous extent just to be famous; but do you know that if you can pay the price to be a carrier of God’s presence, you will attract honour, fame, popularity, promotion and joy? Joshua became famous through God’s presence.

 

So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country. Joshua 6:27

 

 

 

Joshua never thought he could step into the shoes of his master Moses. By the time God chose him, he battled with fear for some time. God had to keep encouraging him. What assisted him to succeed was the presence of God upon his life. As a result of this, not long after, he became known locally and internationally. If you want to be known or to be popular, simply key into God’s presence, be a carrier of His mighty presence and in al little while, you will become famous.

On the other hand, God’s presence can bring terror upon the enemies. When believers flee before their enemies, I begin to wonder what has gone wrong; it should be the other way round, for God has promised us that no enemy would be able to withstand us. Genesis 35:5 says:

 

Any they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

When God places His terror upon your enemies, they will be afraid of you. They will be incapable of hurting you, anyone or anything associated with you. This season, the terror of God shall come upon your enemies, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen! You shall be UNTOUCHABLE to them. From today, your enemies shall be afraid of you, Amen! Any of them that planned to harm you will receive a divine rebuke. Do not fear the enemy. Stop running from them. They will be the one running from you. Every blessing that your enemies have stolen shall be restored with speed this season in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father!

Send Your Fire upon every device of the enemies meant to cause accidents on our roads this season, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Paul:  I have none.

Max: What about your health?

 

 

 

 

 

Paul:  My body is beaten and tired.

 

 

 

 

 

Max:  Do you have friends?

 

 

 

 

 

Paul:  I do, but some have turned back.

 

 

 

 

 

Max:  What do you have, Paul?  No belongings. No family.  Criticized by some.  Mocked by others.  What do you have, Paul?
(I sit back quietly and watch.  Paul rolls his hand into a fist.  He looks at it.  I look at it.  What is he holding?  What does he have?

 

 

 

 

 

Paul:  I have my faith.  It’s all I have.  But it’s all I need.  I have kept the faith.
(Paul leans back against the wall of his cell and smiles).

 

 

 

 

 

Max:  Faith is trusting what the eye can’t see!

Time and Opportunities

 

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. (Psalms 32:6)

Time is an asset given by God to man. However, its illusionary static nature when considered over a short span deceives men. Time is slowly ticking away, quickly converting every second in the present into a thing of the past. How you relate with time will determine whether you will succeed or not. In Numbers 13 and 14, God asked the children of Israel to go and possess the Promised Land, a great opportunity. So they sent 12 spies to check it out and report back to them. Ten of them gave an evil report by stating all they saw physically and concluding that it would be impossible for them to take the land. On the other hand, Caleb and Joshua gave a good report by saying that the problems in the land were no match for the God of Israel. When they revolted against God and His servant Moses, God stepped in and plagued the 10 spies who brought the evil report and they died before the Lord. By the time the congregation realised their error they said they had sinned and were now prepared to go to the Promised Land as earlier instructed by God, but God said it was already too late. Their fate had been sealed! All who left Egypt from age 20 and above were to die in the wilderness without entering the Promised Land. Only the teenagers and children would make it. That is a classical case of missed opportunity in time.

No level of tears could turn the hands of the clock backwards. One lesson here is that the time you perform any assignment for God is very crucial to Him. If God asks you to do something, He also has the time that is right for you to do it. If you choose to do it at a time other than His time, it may not have the same desired impact or the missed opportunities might become irrecoverable or recovering such opportunities might come at a high cost. Whatever God instructs you to do, be in a hurry to do it except He instructs you otherwise. Is the Spirit urging you to pray?   Pray now! Please suspend all you are doing and obey, if not, by the time you think you have time to pray, it might be too late. Some people are sowing their seeds too late. Some prayers are done too late. Some acts of obedience are coming rather too late. Many people are surrendering too late. Don’t be a victim of opportunities lost in time! If you follow divine timing, you will never do anything too late.

Key Point:

 

 

 

 

The devil and the spirit of death, use the illusion of the constancy of time in deceiving those who defer their salvation to a later date thinking they have a lot of time.

Guidelines for Money Management: Tithe

 

I ask you, is it right for a person to cheat God? Of course not, yet you are cheating me. “How?” you ask. In the matter of tithes and offerings. A curse is on all of you because the whole nation is cheating me. Bring the full amount of your tithes to the Temple, so that there will be plenty of food there. Put me the test and you will see that I will open the windows of heaven and pour out on you in abundance all kinds of good things. I will not let insects destroy your crops, and your grapevines will be loaded with grapes. Then the people of all nations will call you happy, because your land will be a good place to live in.

managing God’s money. First, when money comes and you receive your
check, sit down and write out your tithe on the gross. When you write
out your tithe, you get the blessing. And the blessing, as we know,
will make you rich!
Secondly, give a tithe to your savings account. Why is that important?
Many people live check-to-check and they do not have money in the bank.
When something negative happens to them financially, it quickly
destroys them because they don’t have any money. Your goal should be to
have enough in your savings account to live in the same way that you
live now for six months without income. Three months coverage is good,
but six months is better because you will find another job in six

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 25:13.
This verse concludes the parable of the ten virgins, where five had oil
in their lamps and were ready to go out, and five were foolish and
missed the marriage.

In the seven churches Jesus addressed in
Revelation 2 and 3, there were people in every church who had received
eternal life, whose names were written in the book of life. Satan had
infiltrated six of those churches, and to those Jesus said: “To him
that overcometh those issues….” The overcomer was found ready.
This verse contains the point of the parable: watch therefore. In other
words, be ready, because you don’t know the time when the Son of Man
will come. Being ready means to be faithful. It means to be true.
To be ready, you can’t lose your first love. You can’t be a
compromiser. You can’t deny Jesus. You can’t allow false doctrine. You
can’t get caught up in all the pleasures of this world. You have to
overcome those problems, act on the Word, and keep a proper focus.
Prayer for Today
Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to be ready! I want to be true! I want to be totally sold out to
the purposes of Your kingdom. I will stay true through Your grace and
Your power! In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
