Philippians_4-7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Philippians_4-7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Isaiah 57:19

I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

Read: Isaiah 57:19-21

19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Message

Long life and mercy are two benefits derivable from living a life of holiness. In addition to these, peace is another dividend of a holy life. A fellow living a sanctified life enjoys God’s peace at an optimum level. If you are saved and still lack peace, ask God to sanctify you wholly. The moment He does this, you will begin to enjoy peace that is way beyond human understanding. After interpreting King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, Daniel gave him this piece of advice:

Daniel 4:27

“Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.”

Jeremiah_29-11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end

Jeremiah_29-11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end

While great peace is available for the upright, there is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 57:21). There is a user of this devotional, you lost your peace sometime ago and you have tried everything possible to get it back without success. Your peace disappeared after you were mean to a particular child of God, and you made life unbearable for this fellow. If you ask God for forgiveness and make restitution to this fellow, your peace shall be restored.

Proverbs_16-7: When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him

Proverbs_16-7: When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him

Moreover, a call to holiness is a call to peace. Our God is the Author of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33), and Jesus is declared to be the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). A father can only give whatever he has to his son. If you have God, you will definitely have peace. That peace will grow as you live holy. It is possible to be wealthy and not have peace. It is also possible to be healthy and lack peace. Peace cannot be bought with money. One of the attributes of God’s kingdom is peace (Romans 14:17). If you therefore want peace, you must first seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness. In Psalm 29:11, God promises to bless His own with peace. This really means that after God has blessed His children, He will add peace to it. If you are blessed and no peace is added, those blessings can transform into a curse at some point. Some people are “blessed” and yet, sorrow, pain, regret and trouble are added. Such blessings are already cursed! Do you have the peace of God?

Philippians_4-7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Philippians_4-7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Key Point

Sin always brings trouble. If you want peace but you are still living in sin, you are responsible for your own troubles.

There is so much happening around us to make us to be depressed, but incline your heart to the word of God.

There is so much happening around us to make us to be depressed, but incline your heart to the word of God.

John_1-1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

John_1-1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

2 King 4:23

“And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him today? It is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well”.

Proverbs_30-5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him

Proverbs_30-5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him

As a child of God, expect that good will happen to you. If it means closing all your eyes from things around you, close your eyes. The woman in 2 Kings 4 said that it is well in a dead situation. The son was already dead and the husband said: “Woman today is not Sunday. Where are you going”? But she said: “it is well”. The woman refused to be troubled by the terrible situation. She refused to be stressed. Research in Medical Science has shown that about 90% of diseases are stress – related. It is when you are already stressed up that your body begins to react and to throw up all kinds of symptoms. But you are not supposed to be stressed up because the bible says that you can cast your cares upon Him. He cares for you.

Psalms_55-22: Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalms_55-22: Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

How can you survive in our world today, if you do not guard your heart? If you turn to any of the media – electronic or print, you will see 90% of the news are bad news. The news are enough to make your heart fail and give up that anything good can still happen. All across the world, the wars and rumours of war are on the increase. The nations that are not into war are battling with natural disasters – earthquakes, floods etc. There is so much bad news going around that you must consciously guard your heart with all diligence. There is nowhere that is safe. I see people running from developing nations to developed nations in search of greener pastures only to get there and realise that they are even facing worse devils there. There is so much happening around us to make us to be depressed, but incline your heart to the word of God.

Hebrews_12-2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God

However beloved, I give you a charge: don’t hang your face in the dust, but look straight. God told Abraham to look from where he is and not at where he is, when Lot departed from him. This is because when you look at your circumstance, it will put you in a condition that you may not be able to come out from. So I challenge you to look away from the circumstance and look unto God. Those who look unto Him are never disappointed. Psalms 34:5 says “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.” You will not be disappointed in Jesus name.
