Requirement For God’s Acceptance

1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

Micah 6: 1 – 8

In the Passage for today’s reflection, God laid out His case against Israel as a lawyer presents his complaint against an accused person in a court of law.(Micah 6: 1 – 5). Israel responds (Micah 6: 6 – 7) by wondering what offerings could be given that would be pleasing and acceptable to God. Prophet Micah in Micah 6: 8 gives the right answer to Israel’s enquiry, “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with God.” This, essentially, is what is required for acceptance before God.

It is possible to have a misconception about what God requires from His people. A person can serve God in various capacities and give bountifully towards the work of God without finding acceptance before Him because while serving and giving are desirable, they are not acceptable to God if not done with a pure heart. 1 Corinthians 13: 2 – 3 say “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames but have not love, I gain nothing.”

What the Lord requires of us is to act justly, to love mercy and to be humble. Our personal biases should not make us pervert justice. We should strive to do what is just before God at all times and as we receive mercy from God, we should also show mercy in our dealings with people. When we humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord, by acknowledging His love and sovereignty, He will lift us up.

MEMORY VERSE:
Micah 6: 8 “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with Your God.”

PRAYER:
Lord, order my path and direct my footsteps. Help me to act justly, be merciful and humble in whatever I do for Christ’s sake. Amen.

Ungrateful South Africans! God bless Nigeria!

What happened in South Africa is black on black crime. Laid back black South Africans have been blinded by their envy of diligent Nigerians, to attempt to destroy them, in total oblivion of the role Nigeria played in their independence.

Lazy bones always wish enterprising people dead, as if that will bring them good fortunes. They have left those who exploited their ancestors and are still holding the economic power of S.A., to go after the innocent black foreigners in their country.

I do not, however, subscribe to any reprisal attacks here in Nigeria because Nigerian workers and customers of those South African concerns are the main casualties of such attacks.

So far the government is making the right moves to stop this madness once and for all and that should make us avoid taking the law into our own hands. We must not settle for less than full compensation from South Africa to teach the ungrateful nation an object lesson.

As We Step Into The New Month Of September!

Romans_8-35: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As we step into the new month of September, we decree it to be a month of birthing long delayed destinies, victories, plans and ministries in our lives.

None shall come to the birth and not be able to bring forth. The Lord shall be for strength to us as we take the battle to the gates of all that has oppressed us in the past. We terminate their reign with extreme prejudice and wrest our ordained victories with might in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We command a Resurrection in all dead areas, we speak life to them and call them forth to the praise and purpose of our God.

We lift up the glorious Name of the Lord Jesus, the Christ of God upon every second, every minute and every hour of September and call her to deliver and birth God’s Gifts, His Fruits and Burdens in our lives in Jesus’ Name.
