The Power to defeat fear and activate faith
The Power to defeat fear and activate faith
It’s Easter month again! What a joy to celebrate the selfless love of a wonderful Saviour. The spotless lamb who gave His all for us to live a life of freedom. Freedom from sickness, bondage and pain. Freedom from poverty and loss and freedom from all fear! Fear has the opportunity to creep into our hearts and minds in just about any circumstance to situation but its source is always the same. Fear comes from the pit of hell with the sole purpose to paralyze our emotions, render our reasoning inactive, immobilize our faith and just plain destroy us.
This is pretty much what Timothy was battling with when Paul was writing him in 2 Timothy 1:7. When Paul wrote to Timothy, it was a very difficult time for the early church. The ruler over the region in that day was the mad man Nero. Now Nero was truly insane and a large part of his insanity resulted in the most severe, cruel and gruesome persecution of the believers, wherever his power reached. He would have every believer hunted down, caught, hideously tortured and killed. He showed no mercy for anyone. At this time, Timothy was a pastor of the church of Ephesus, a town that was completely under Nero’s evil control. Timothy knew that Nero’s secret police would take special pleasure in killing him in some barbaric way if they ever got their hands on him.
Now Timothy was having to deal with a spirit of fear, threatening to discourage him to the point of giving up his calling and turning away from one of the greatest revivals the church of Ephesus would experience. Paul told Timothy, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
The phrase (sound mind) comes from a Greek word that suggests a mind that is delivered, rescued, revived, salvaged and protected and is now safe and secure.
This means that even when your mind is tempted to succumb to fear, like Timothy, you can allow God’s Word, by the Holy Spirit, to work in you to deliver, rescue, revive and savage your mind. This means your rationale; logic and emotions can be shielded from the horrible, ridiculous, fearful thoughts that have tried to grip your mind when you face challenging circumstances.
It works like this: The more time we spend meditating on the word of God, the more truth we invest into our minds and spirits. So when fear knocks at our door and tries to take control, the Holy Spirit reminds us of the truth that we have stored inside and that truth overrides the fearful thoughts. God’s word rescues us; it protects our minds as it replaces the thoughts of fear and brings us peace and hope. The word of God causes our minds to become safe and secure in the midst of trouble as we focus on His truth instead of the fearful thoughts. Pretty soon the word of God is speaking louder than fear filled thoughts and faith comes! Faith is that powerful, life giving force that makes the impossible and changes every unfavorable circumstance to line up with the promises of God.
No matter what we are faced with today, let’s decide to take Paul’s words to Timothy to heart. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. A mind rescued, revived and protected from the talons of fear and is safe and secure, focused on the truth of His word. Just remember that it’s the word of God inside of you that has the power to protect and work for you. So don’t waste a moment on the truth of God’s word and build up the greatest investment of your life – the power to defeat fear and activate faith!
May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The Pain of Betrayal
The Pain of Betrayal
Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
Luke 22:48, NKJV
Judas was one of Jesus’ very closest friends. He had been handpicked to be a disciple. He had been given the special responsibility of being treasurer for the entire band of disciples – a responsibility he had enjoyed as it gave him access to personal petty cash as well as prestige in the eyes of others. Yet it was this disciple who betrayed his Lord and Friend with a kiss! And although Jesus clearly knew the betrayal was coming, it was still a knifelike stab to His heart.
Have you ever been betrayed . . .
By a spouse who has taken a secret lover?
By a sibling who has stolen your inheritance?
By a co-worker who has taken the credit for a job you did?
If you have experienced betrayal, then you understand something of the stabbing pain Judas inflicted at the very outset of Jesus’ uphill struggle to the Cross and would resolve never to betray another.
May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Seeing Doubt For What It Is

Seeing Doubt For What It Is
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which
the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God
said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Genesis 3:1
The enemy of our souls never seems to make a direct frontal attack. In
this verse, we see that he begins his assault by approaching the woman
God got from Adam’s rib. If you must defeat a two-person team, you
rarely begin with an assault on the stronger or the senior member. You
tackle the junior or the smaller member first, hoping to divide and
conquer. This technique began with satan in the Garden.
His first device is to question God’s Word in a subtle way: “Hath God
said…?” The devil always works to introduce doubt, but usually he
does it so smoothly that you may not even recognize it at first. The Hebrew word for subtle means cunning, crafty and smooth. Notice that he
asks questions, planting doubt in our hearts and minds: Is this really
God’s way? Did He really mean what He said? Does it have to be only
this way? What do you think God really meant?
It is no accident that satan asked Eve this question. He wasn’t
interested in Eve’s answer; he was interested in planning his own
answer in Eve’s mind.
Father,
Your Word remains true and faithful, even in the fact of satan’s
attacks. I choose to listen only to You and to plant Your Words in my
heart and mind so that I can live blameless before You. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

The presence of fear does not mean you have no faith. Just Believe
The presence of fear doesn’t mean you have no faith. Just Believe
Those who know Your name trust in You; for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You. Psalm 9:10
The presence of fear doesn’t mean you have no faith!
My dad loved to fish for trout on the edge of the white water rivers of the Rockies. He knew the currents were dangerous and that his sons could be careless. He’d scout out the safe places to cross the river. He’d walk us down the bank until we found a line of stable rocks. He’d test the stones, knowing if they held him, they’d hold us. Then he’d signal us to follow.
“Don’t be afraid—trust me!” he’d say. And we children never needed coaxing.
But we adults often do! Does a river of fear run between you and OUR Lord Jesus Christ? If you wave our Lord Jesus away, joy will die; laughter will perish, and tomorrow will be buried in today’s grave of dread. Don’t make that mistake.
Give the day a chance. Believe He can. Believe He cares. Just—believe!
May The Good Lord Save Nigeria And Israel From All Our Enemies And Prosper Us Beyond Our Imaginations, In Jesus Christ Mighty Name We Pray, Amen!

Do not be afraid
Don’t Be Afraid
“Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe.’ Mark 5:36”
Sometimes what we need is just a word of encouragement, isn’t it?
And God gives a word—to the overwhelmed. To the downcast. To us. He urges, “Don’t’ be afraid; just believe.”
Believe that He can. Believe that He cares. Believe that He comes.
Mark it down. You will never go where God is not. You may be transferred, enlisted, commissioned, or re-assigned….But brand this truth on your heart—Jesus promised, “I am with you always.” Don’t be afraid, just believe!
Make your fear a visitor and not a resident. Hasn’t fear taken enough? Enough smiles? Enough restful nights? Enough exuberant days?
Make it a day changer to meet your fears with faith. Choose to make every day—a great day!

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. —Psalm 34:1-10
In his first inaugural speech in 1933, Franklin D. Roosevelt, the newly elected president of the US, addressed a nation that was still reeling from the Great Depression. Hoping to ignite a more optimistic outlook regarding that economic crisis, he declared, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!”
Fear often shows up in our lives when we are at risk of losing something—our wealth, health, reputation, position, safety, family, and friends. It reveals our innate desire to protect the things in life that are important to us, rather than fully entrusting them to God’s care and control. When fear takes over, it cripples us emotionally and saps us spiritually. We’re afraid to tell others about Christ, to extend our lives and resources for the benefit of others, or to venture into new territory. A fearful spirit is more vulnerable to the enemy, who tempts us to compromise biblical convictions and to take matters into our own hands.
The remedy for fear, of course, is trust in our Creator. Only when we trust the reality of God’s presence, power, protection, and provision for our lives can we share the joy of the psalmist, who said, “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Ps. 34:4). —Joe Stowell
Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear. —Berg
Trust in the Lord is the cure for a fearful spirit

No fear in love
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fearth is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:17-18)
The reason fear takes a hold of certain people is due to the kind of information they’ve opened themselves to. When someone exposes himself to negative information – news about all the evil, wickedness, disasters and acts of terrorism happening around the world, fear will rise up in him like a giant and bind him.
Fear is the most deployed tool of the adversary. Satan knows if he can get you to be afraid, your faith will not work, for fear hinders faith. This is the reason you must refuse to fear, no matter what happens! According to the Word, you don’t even have to try to fight fear. Our opening scripture lets us know what the antidote to fear is – LOVE! Perfect love casts out fear. This means there’s no need for an effort on your part to dispel fear if you’ll only walk in love; if you’ll only love the Lord and trust in His love.
1 John 5:3 says “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.” “His commandments” as used in this portion of scripture doesn’t refer to the commandments God gave Moses for the children of Israel in the wilderness. Rather, it refers to the instructions given to us in God’s Word – in the New Testament. So the love of God, which according to Romans 5:5, has been shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit is proven each time you act on God’s Word. And remember, acting on God’s Word activates your faith; and when your faith is activated, it dispels fear.
Confession
Dear Heavenly Father, in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, I walk in dominion today, because You’ve given me the Spirit of power, love and of a sound mind! I walk worthy of You today, unto all pleasing, rejoicing that You’re the One causing me to triumph over fear, Satan, and the world. Hallelujah! Amen!
May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Fear Is a Name and It Has To Bow To The Lordship Of Christ Jesus (Jairus)
FEAR IS A NAME AND IT HAS TO BOW TO THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST
JESUS (JAIRUS)
But when Jesus heard
it, He answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made
whole (Luke 8:50)
The scripture above is from the story of a man called
Jairus. He came to Jesus because he wanted Him to heal his daughter that was at
the point of death. As Jesus went with him, news got to them that Jairus’
daughter had died. At this point Jairus was discouraged but Jesus said to him,
“Fear not, only believe.” Jesus spoke immediately to stop the fear.
You have to stop the fear in your life. Don’t give in to it.
If fear comes in, it keeps you in bondage and you lose your miracle. Situations
around you might be contrary; you might be faced with pictures of fear,
failure, and lack, but don’t claim the fear, don’t talk fear. Instead, talk
about your miracle, talk about your success. Moreover, talk about your great
Heavenly Father and His power.
The Bible says, “Wherefore
God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every
name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:9-10). Fear is
a name and it has to bow to the Lordship of Jesus Christ! You’re founded on the
Name of Jesus Christ, and you can’t be moved or shaken.
Keep training yourself in the Word of God until fear is
completely banished from your life. Say to yourself. “I refuse to fear, the life of God is in me. I am a victor in Christ
Jesus. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”.
CONFESSION
I refuse to fear for
I am not ignorant of the wiles of the devil. I choose to walk in the
consciousness of who I am in Christ Jesus. The greater one lives in me, Amen!

Fear not!
Though a host should
encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident (Psalm 27:3)
Fear is one
of the most important tools of the adversary, the devil. The moment you yield
your heart to it, it’ll create the perfect environment for him to plunder your
life. Fear is a tormenting and domineering spirit; its intent is to take over
your life. You mustn’t yield to it or give it room in your heart.
Jairus was
on his way to his house with the Lord Jesus when he heard that his daughter was
dead. Jesus had to quickly rebuke the spirit of fear to stop it from dominating
his heart (Luke 8:49-50).
In Psalm
46:1-2, the psalmist expressed his confidence and boldness to confront
terrifying situations fearlessly. The reason was that he had spent a lot of
time studying and meditating on God’s law. You see, the information you allow
into your mind will determine the condition of your heart. For this reason, we
are admonished by the spirit of God in Proverb 4:23 to keep and guard our
hearts with all vigilance and above all that we guard, “…….for out of it flow the springs of life” (AMP).
God has
given us a powerful weapon to cast out fear. That weapon is His Word. The Bible
says, “For the Word of God is quick, and
powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword….” (Hebrews 4:12). The Word
is all you need to get rid of fear in your life. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and
hearing by the Word of God.” As you receive it into your spirit, you’re
emboldened and empowered to face and win everyday’s challenges.
When you
fill your heart with God’s Word, you’ll no longer be fearful or succumbs to
satan’s manoeuvres.
CONFESSION
I am growing in the knowledge of God’s
Word and God’s perfect love. God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of
power, love, and a sound mind. Therefore, I refuse to fear and yield to its
tormenting power for fear has no place in my life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
