Ministry Of Angels.

Ministry Of Angels.

Psalms_91-11: For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psalms_91-11: For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Hebrews 1:14 (KJV)

One of the benefits available to the believer by reason of the finished work on Calvary is the ministering spirits. The ministry of angels is one that is rarely talked about today, but beloved, there are angels on assignment on your behalf today.

The fact that the devil has bastardized this truth does not make it non-existent. Yes, many people do not understand the ministry of angels; some people even worship them, but beloved, they do exist. The Bible calls them ministering spirits sent to minister to us, the heirs of salvation.

The ministry of angels is still rampant today. I have heard cases of supernatural deliverances that you know only an angel could have completed. Some people have been rescued from very dangerous situations by an unknown person. By the time they turn around to enquire about the person, they discover that he has disappeared. Beloved, those are angels.

In Acts, we read the story of how an angel went to set Peter free. Peter had been bound and marked for execution, but while the saints prayed, God sent an angel who went into the prison, loosened his chains, and brought him out of the prison to the total amazement of even the disciples.

However, many angels are idle, not because there is nothing to do, but because we have refused to empower them. Angels will not respond to your whining and crying; they will not respond to your complaints either. Angels respond only to the word of God. Do you now see why all throughout the year I kept emphasizing the need to read the word, meditate on it, and declare it? When you declare the word, the angels are empowered to go and carry it out.

I don’t care how long your angels have been idle, you can engage them today by declaring the word of God.

Hebrews 1:4-14
4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

The Son Superior to Angels!

5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,

“You are my Son;
today I have become your Father”[a]?
Or again,

“I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son”[b]?

6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,

“Let all God’s angels worship him.”[c]

7 In speaking of the angels he says,

“He makes his angels spirits,
and his servants flames of fire.”[d]

8 But about the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.”[e]

10 He also says,

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.

11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.

12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.”[f]

13 To which of the angels did God ever say,

“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet”[g]?

14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Acts 12:1-11
12 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Prayer Language Of The Holy Spirit.

Prayer Language Of The Holy Spirit.

Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26 (KJV)

Many times when praying you get to a point where you really don’t know what to say. That is the time to switch to the prayer language of the Spirit. If you are born again but have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, don’t feel condemned. Instead, talk to an older Christian or your pastor, and someone will be able to help you.

The prayer language of the Spirit is given to us to help us in the place of prayers. No matter how good your vocabulary is, there comes a point where you will need help. There is no way anyone can help you the way the Holy Spirit does because one, He knows the mind of Christ, and two, He knows your need better than even you can articulate it.

Many times the Holy Spirit even prays concerning things that you are unaware of. That is why I will always encourage every believer to develop the habit of praying in tongues. Don’t pray in tongues only in church or during a fast. Develop the habit of praying in tongues every day. As I have said before, you can start with five minutes a day and from there graduate to ten, fifteen, thirty and then sixty minutes every day. You can speak in tongues while driving, while having your bath, or during workouts. Develop the habit and it will not only help you pray, it will also make you more sensitive to the Spirit of God.

There are so many things demanding for your attention today that if you can learn to start with God, He will cause you to attain incredible speed that will shock your world. See the Holy Spirit as your senior partner in every area of your life. No matter how good you may be in a particular field, with the Holy Spirit on your side, you will definitely get better. There is always a difference when you activate your senior partner. Activate Him in the place of prayer and see yourself move in a dimension you have never experienced before.

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

God’s Grace!

God’s Grace!

Hebrews_4-16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. .God's Throne Of Grace

Hebrews_4-16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. .God’s Throne Of Grace

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Romans 9:15 (KJV)

There are times when we get certain results and are tempted to think that they are deserved. At times you think your intellect got it for you. Perhaps your eloquence or your strength gave you the miracle, but beloved, there are many people who are better than you in all ramifications that have not achieved what you have. Thank God for strength, but I have come today to remind you that wherever you are today is not a function of works but grace.

Look at the story of Esau and Jacob. Ever before they were born, God announced to their mother that His choice was Jacob. Think about it. The children were still in the womb; they were twins. They had neither done good nor bad, yet God had made His choice and announced to Rebecca, their mother, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated” (Romans 9:13, KJV). How do you explain it? It defies any form of explanation, because it is just grace.

What is grace? Grace is unmerited favour. You don’t get grace as a result of something you have done. It is not a function of works at all. It has been rightly defined as “GOD’S RICHES AT CHRIST’S EXPENSE”. Jesus paid it all. He was wounded for our transgressions and was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him. He took our place and gave us His place; that is the divine exchange. Our part is just to accept it and be grateful for it.

Whatever miracles come your way, whatever blessings manifest, know that they are not a function of works. It is not because you fasted or prayed. It is simply because God has chosen to favour you. So don’t boast about it. Rather, be thankful and remain humble knowing that He who gave it to you could have given it to anyone else as well.

Romans 9:6-18
God’s Sovereign Choice
6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[a]

8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.

9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”[b]

10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac.

11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand:

12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[c]

13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”[d]

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!

15 For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”[e]
16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”[f]

18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

Isaiah_53-5-1: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed

Isaiah 53:4-9
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

8 By oppression[a] and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.[b]

9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

When ye fast

When ye fast

Psalms_91-1: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty

Psalms_91-1: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty

“Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” Matthew 6:16 (KJV)

Fasting is one of the pillars of the Christian faith. Fasting is not done in order to change God’s mind concerning a situation. Rather, fasting is done to properly position yourself to receive from God.

Jesus, in talking about fasting, did not say “if” you fast. If He had said “if you fast”, then fasting would not have been a pillar; but as He said of prayer, “when ye pray”, He also said of fasting, “when ye fast”. What does it mean to fast? To fast is to deliberately abstain from food for a period of time in order to give full attention to prayer and seek the face of God. Fasting is not starvation; so it is not just abstinence from food but rather abstinence with a view to seek the face of God in prayers and study of the word of God. The main thing about fasting is your motive. If you do not get the motive right, then you might not enjoy the benefit of fasting. Just like prayer, fasting brings you into a closer relationship with God. It is something you do consciously and deliberately, not out of compulsion but out of a desire to develop a closer relationship with God.

Remember that fasting is a time set aside to seek the face of God. So even though you may not be able to take time off work, you must ensure that you spend more time with God. You can decide to wake up earlier than usual or sleep later, but when fasting, spend more time with God. When fasting, consciously put God first in all you do. Be more conscious about God and at every opportunity, take time to pray, look at the scriptures, and make declarations over your life. Don’t just abstain from food without praying, otherwise you will be simply starving yourself.

Remember that in prayer you are not changing God’s mind; you are only aligning yourself with the word of God. And as you do, heaven will move on your behalf and your testimony will not be denied.

Fasting
16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,
18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

When You Fast! Men Should Not Notice That You Are Fasting.

When You Fast! Men Should Not Notice That You Are Fasting.

Galatians_5-1-1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

Galatians_5-1-1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

“Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?” Isaiah 58:5 (KJV)

Fasting is not just abstinence from food. It is more than that. To know what fasting is not, let us look at the Message translation of our text for today, “Do you think this is the kind of fast day I’m after: a day to show off humility? To put on a pious long face and parade around solemnly in black? Do you call that fasting, a fast day that I, God, would like?” Isaiah 58:5 (MSG).

Wearing a long face and not using perfume, cologne, or make up is not what fasting is about. Refusing to comb your hair, have your bath, or talk to people is not fasting. In actual fact, men should not even notice that you are fasting because your countenance should be as cheerful as it always is. Fasting is an act done between you and God, except if it is a corporate fast where everyone knows about the event.

While that is true, you must also be careful not to be involved in rancour, malice, and other acts that are not in consonance with the word of God. Isaiah 58:4, still the Message translation, takes the issue of fasting deeper. In Isaiah 58:3 (MSG), the people actually complained, “Why do we fast and you don’t look our way? Why do we humble ourselves and you don’t even notice?” I will tell you why! It’s because you are fasting to please yourselves. Even while you fast, you keep oppressing others. Did you understand that? As you engage in the fast, be conscious of the fact that God is willing and ready to answer you. You are not praying to change His mind; rather, you are praying to align yourself with the word of God.

My prayer for you is that you will come out with visible evidence of the fast. God will exceed your expectations; grace will be available to you in Jesus name. Amen!

Isaiah 58:1-5

True Fasting

58 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back.
Raise your voice like a trumpet.
Declare to my people their rebellion
and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

For day after day they seek me out;
they seem eager to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that does what is right
and has not forsaken the commands of its God.
They ask me for just decisions
and seem eager for God to come near them.

3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say,
‘and you have not seen it?
Why have we humbled ourselves,
    and you have not noticed?’

“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please
    and exploit all your workers.

4 Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife,
and in striking each other with wicked fists.
You cannot fast as you do today
and expect your voice to be heard on high.

5 Is this the kind of fast I have chosen,
only a day for people to humble themselves?
Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed
and for lying in sackcloth and ashes?
Is that what you call a fast,
a day acceptable to the Lord?

God Wants To Engage In Communication With You When You Pray, Not Merely Receive Information & Instructions From You.

God Wants To Engage In Communication With You When You Pray, Not Merely Receive Information & Instructions From You.

Ezekiel_36-26: A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Ezekiel_36-26: A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” Acts 13:2 (KJV)

One of the errors of believers is to turn prayer into a one-way channel of information, where you talk and talk and talk without receiving feedback. That is not communication. That is complaining. Yes, when you go to God, you should feel free to pour out your heart to Him; but that is not all there is to prayer. God wants to engage in communication with you, not merely receive information from you.

When you get up to pray, take a jotter and a pen and get ready to receive instruction from God. God still speaks today and wants to speak to you. He wants to guide you. He wants to direct you. He wants you to have advance information on the things that are coming your way. This does not mean that God will thunder from heaven to you. No, it might just be a witness in your spirit. It might be a word from a friend. It might be a word from the chorister that God will use to speak to you, but you must be prepared to listen.

In the scripture above, the apostles gathered together to fast and pray. Notice that they were not fasting and praying because they wanted to send forth Barnabas and Saul, but as they prayed, God spoke and they were quick to obey. That brings me to the next point; when God speaks, don’t just write it down and forget it. Be quick to obey His word. No matter what the instruction is, be ready to obey. Your obedience will actually make you more sensitive to God because the more you obey, the more He will speak to you. When you write down the word, read it over and over again, and ensure you obey it to the letter.

God does not waste His resources; if He speaks to you today and you do nothing with it, why would He speak to you tomorrow? If you want to enjoy a rich relationship with God, then be prepared to listen and obey every instruction from His mouth, and I guarantee you that you will testify in Jesus name.

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

Genuine Repentance.

Genuine Repentance.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts_2-38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Text:

Matthew 21: 28-30
28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Salvation

2 Corinthians 5:16-21
16 No longer, then, do we judge anyone by human standards. Even if at one time we judged Christ according to human standards, we no longer do so.
17 Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come.
18 All this is done by God, who through Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also.
19 Our message is that God was making all human beings his friends through Christ.[a] God did not keep an account of their sins, and he has given us the message which tells how he makes them his friends.
20 Here we are, then, speaking for Christ, as though God himself were making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf: let God change you from enemies into his friends! 21 Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God.

Introduction:

Salvation is freedom from sin which leads to a change of life as a result of repentance and faith in the atoning blood of Jesus.

Salvation Denotes New Life In Jesus Christ
1. Salvation transforms a person from the old life in Satan to the kingdom of God.
Colossians 1:13.
He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son,

2. Salvation is the replacement of satanic lifestyle with God’s lifestyle of holiness and righteousness.

3. Through salvation, a person has the grace to be a true follower of Christ.

4. Through salvation, a person receives the grace to abide in Christ.

John 15:4-5.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Characteristics Of A Saved Soul.

1. Regeneration.
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 4:21
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

2. Renewal of soul.
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

3. Reformation of Old life.
Ezekiel 11:19
And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

4. Total control by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:9
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

5. Living and working by faith in Christ.
Galatians 5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

2 Corinthians 5:7
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

6. Absolute dependence on God.
John 15:2-4
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

7. Thirst and hunger for God’s Word.
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

8. Willingness to fellowship with God and Brethren.
Psalm 133:1
How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God’s people to live together in harmony!

9. Zealousness for the work of God.
John 2:17
His disciples remembered that the scripture says, “My devotion to your house, O God, burns in me like a fire.”

Galatians 4:18
It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always, not just when I am with you.

10. Desire to live a righteousness life and shun worldliness.

Genesis 39:6-9
6 So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.
Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,

7 and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!”

8 But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.

9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”

1 John 2:15, 29
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

29. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Conclusion:

Salvation or a new life in Christ transforms believers into real image of God which is characterized by purity, holiness and righteousness.
Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Thank You Jesus.
