DIVINE ANNOUNCEMENT.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God, Prayer Works, God Answers Prayers

“Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.”
(1 Kings 17: 9)

 
That is the Focal Scripture of God’s Standard Devotional Today.

 
Before Elijah went to Zarephath, God told him that He (God) had commanded a widow to sustain him. Elijah was yet to go to Zarephath, but God already made an announcement in his favour. God already spoke about Elijah in a place he was yet to arrive at. God advertised Elijah beyond the shores of Israel.

 
Friends, God is about to announce you in strange places;

 
God is about to advertise you in high places;

 
God is about to cause someone to hear about you even before seeing you;

 
God will cause your name to be known in the nations;

 
God will make you the toast of your generation;

 
God is set to divinely announce your family members, career, business, ministry, etc.

 
God will speak for you before you have a chance to speak for yourself.

 
Zarephath was Elijah’s future destination; so God went into Elijah’s future and announced him.

 
God will step into your future and announce you;

 
God will announce you to people you are yet to meet;

 
God will give you a divine announcement and advertisement that will work for you in your future;

 
God will cause you to be known in your future.

 
When God announces you, even your haters will have no option but to work in your favour;

 
When God announces you, people who may not like to help you will have no option but to help you;

 
When God advertises you, you will become so famous even when you have not done much;

 
When God speaks to people about you, they will have no option but to fulfill God’s will concerning you.

 
Ask God to advertise you in places you have not been to;

 
Ask God to advertise you to people you have not met.

 
Ask God for the blessing of divine announcement.

 
Pray With Me: Lord, announce me to my generation; advertise me in places I have not been to, in Jesus’ name!

Philippians_4-7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

That is the Focal Scripture of God’s Standard Devotional today.

 
In our Focal Scripture, God told Elijah that He had commanded a widow in Zarephath to sustain him. Elijah needed sustenance because of the famine he proclaimed in Israel. He literally cursed Israel and created the famine, but God made divine, private arrangements for him to be sustained. Elijah was not a victim of his own prophecy. God kept him from what others suffered in Israel.

 
Friends, hear God’s prophetic word: you will be kept from whatever has gone wrong around you.

 
God will not allow you to suffer what others are suffering in your nation;

 
God will make divine arrangements that will keep you going when others break down and give up;

 
God will make your situation so different that people around you will wonder how your sustenance happens.

 
The economic recession that happens to others will not affect you.

 
The tragedies and misfortunes that affect others won’t affect you;

 
Your career won’t suffer what other careers are suffering;

 
Your business won’t suffer what other businesses are suffering;

 
Your destiny will not be halted or stagnated the way others are halted or stagnated.

 
Elijah was the cause of the problem in Israel, his proclamation led to famine, but God wouldn’t let him suffer for what he said with his mouth.

 
Even when you should be a victim of your own actions, God will make divine arrangements to bail you out;

 
God will shield you from even the things you brought on yourself.

 
Elijah couldn’t make arrangements for sustenance, but God made the arrangements for him.

 
You may not be able to arrange your way out of some challenges, but God will make divine arrangements to bail you out.

 
Pray With Me: Lord, make divine arrangements that will keep me from being a victim, in Jesus’ name!

HIGHER KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.

2-Chronicles_7-14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land

Isaiah_55-6: Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

“9. Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. 12. And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth…” (1 Kings 17: 9, 12)

 
That is the Focal Scripture of God’s Standard Devotional today.

 
In our Focal Scripture, the widow of Zarephath spoke about the Lord.

 
She was in a pagan nation, but she knew about the Lord. Instead of knowing the pagan idols that others around her probably knew, she knew about the Lord.

 
She had a higher knowledge of God, and she later enjoyed the miracle of abundance through Elijah.

 
Friends, seek a higher knowledge of God.

 
Know Him deeper and closely.

 
Know God for the might in Him and the might He is able to manifest in you and through you;

 
know God as the one who is able to nullify every doctor’s report that is not in your favour;

 
know God as the One who can give you abundance despite the economic recession you are in.

 
A higher knowledge of God is the pathway to a higher life.

 
When others want to give up, don’t give up; remind yourself that your Redeemer lives.

 
When there is no hope, remain hopeful in God.

 
When the battles of life rage, be still and know that He is God and that He is in charge at all levels.

 
When you can’t find what you need in your environment, dig deep into God and you’ll find all you need.

 
The widow of Zarephath knew the Lord, and the Lord brought her in contact with Elijah, and that changed her story.

 
Your deeper knowledge of God will turn things around in your life.

 
As you know God more and more, you will see His acts more and more.

 
The widow of Zarephath lived among pagans and that may have made it difficult for her to know God, but she knew God all the same.

 
There isn’t any worthy excuse why you won’t know God more. Seek God and you shall live.

 
James 4 vs. 8 says: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…”.

Angels In Action.

Psalms_91-11: For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

“For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11-12

For years Obinna ran his small retail business from his store in a local Shopping Center in Ikeja Area.

Every week a visitor would drop by to collect a percentage of his sales. The visitor wasn’t his landlord; the area boys had taken control of business in Lagos Metropolis.

Through our ministry, Obinna came to faith in Christ, and God began a deep work in his life. One day Obinna decided he could no longer give God’s money to the miscreants.

A few days later his “friends” paid him a visit. They kidnapped him, blindfolded him, and placed him in a cell located in the middle of an area boys-controlled house. After 24 hours, we reported the incident to the Police authority yet Obinna was no where to be found. So we organised a midnight prayer sessions and commanded into action to release Obinna according to God’s Words in Psalm 91: 11-12.

During the night Obinna sat in the cell discouraged. Two locked doors with guards separated Obinna from his freedom. Suddenly, in the middle of the night he awoke to a voice: “Obi nwa mama, get up. Follow me.” Obinna awakened to a real, in the flesh, angel of God sent to deliver him. The angel opened the doors while the guards remained asleep. Obinna and the angel walked quietly past the guards to freedom. He immediately went to his Christian brothers to share the miracle that had just taken place. Later in the day, the miscreants came and tender an apology and the extortion ceased.

“What a Mighty God we serve…..”

 
This true story is living proof that we serve a God who still does miracles on behalf of His servants.

Ask God for the miracle you need today. Psalm 50: 15 assured us to call our Heavenly Father in the time of trouble and He will deliver us. Call him now!

Believing Lies. Sermon And Prayer Points By Pastor E A Adeboye.

Matthew_7-15: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves

Memorise: Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue. – Psalms 120:2

Read: 1 Timothy 4:1-6 (KJV)

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

MESSAGE:

There are many heresies spreading around us today, unfortunately, there are lots of people believing them. This is why true ministers of the gospel cannot just fold their hands. They have to make efforts to counter the bad philosophies around with the absolute truth of God’s Word. There is no better time for us to be aware and guard ourselves from being led astray by these erroneous teachings. The Bible warns us that if not careful even the very elect will deviate from the truth and follow after the deceptions of devious men, who, by the way, are skillful in leading men astray. Some of these teachers are popular and some of them are widely sought after; but be not deceived, the Word and Truth of God is greater than the personal profile of any minister. There are wolves in sheep’s clothing in the church today (Matthew 7:15-20). They teach one thing and practice another. They appear to be speaking the truth but they are living in error. When they talk, their words are very smooth and there is no error in their presentations. They make a lot of noise but they lack depth. If you watch closely, you will see that their conduct is contrary to the principles of godly living. They come with all sorts of theologies that have no bearing with the Word of God. They justify unholy living with the illusion that it is impossible for anyone to live holy. They explain away the truth of God’s Word just to make sinners comfortable in their sins. There is no rebuke, no reprove and no correction in their theology. They preach so much about the place of grace and give so much motivation about people’s freewill and liberty, forgetting that the Christian calling is not a call to lawlessness. They preach against the validity of the 10 commandments in the era of grace. Some teach that once saved you are forever saved and there is no need to work out your salvation with fear and trembling as the Bible says in Philippians 2:12. Some ask why you need to fast at all, since Jesus said it is finished.

As a genuine minister and disciple of Jesus, there is the need for you to teach your members to be aware of these wrong teachings. The fact that many people listen to them do not mean they are approved of God. They are liars. You need to caution those in your church concerning heretic teachings that deny the fundamental principles of Christianity. Don’t allow your members to stray away from the truth. Expose them to the truth of God’s Word very often so that they can stand against the lies of the devil. Some churches have become mere social and entertainment centres where members only gather of fantasies and entertainment purposes. You cannot see them leading salvation prayers or asking lost souls to come to the altar to forsake their sins. Many people do not want to hear the truth of God’s Word and that is why the church is saturated today with many false and fake ministers. How can you be comfortable in a church where the pastor has two wives? What will you expect such pastors to tell their members? Some members prefer to run from one prophet to another who will ‘see things’ for them and deceive them that God has spoken when God has said nothing. They are looking for prophetic declarations from ‘great men of God’ even when they don’t know the spirit behind such declarations.

Action Point: Beware of wolves in sheep clothing.
