Pastor Adeboye advised men not to marry girls who cannot pray for at least one hour, who cannot cook and a girl who is lazy.

 

He said;
“Any girl who cannot pray for one hour non stop, don’t marry her. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy. If she is lazy when she is a girl, how is she going to cope when she is married and have children? Don’t marry a girl who cannot cook” he said.

PRACTISE THE WORD.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22 (KJV)

 

 

Another way you can develop your spirit is by practising God’s word. It is not enough to read the word and meditate on it if you do not act on the word. In fact, it is almost impossible for you to meditate on the word without acting on it, because as a man thinks in his heart so he is. If all you do is read the word like a storybook and then choose not to meditate or act on it, you are not doing yourself any good.

 

 

The word is supposed to be like a mirror. When you look into the mirror, it is to examine yourself and see what is out of place in your appearance in order to correct it. It is totally useless to go to the mirror, see a white thread in your hair, and walk away without removing it. This is what happens if you read the word and refuse to act on it. Matthew 7:24-27 says it all. If you hear the word and fail to be a doer of it, there is no way your spirit is going to develop. Beloved, it is a crime when you go to church, listen to powerful revelations, and then fail to act on them. Your meat must be the word. It nourishes you and when you take action based on the word, it energises or strengthens you. Don’t expect God to give you any follow-up instructions when you have not obeyed His first instruction. Practise the word the way God has said it.

 

 

The mother of Jesus, Mary, told His disciples to do whatever He told them to. That is the way to succeed. However, you won’t become perfect overnight even after you have begun to practise the word. Sometimes the enemy will attempt to trip you up because it is his job to ensure that you do not succeed. But when you fall, get up; as the scriptures say, “When I fall, I shall arise” (Micah 7:8, KJV).

 

 

When you begin to act on the word of God it changes your soul. Now is the time for you to start doing the word.

Child Of Destiny. Sermon And Prayer Points By Pastor E A Adeboye. RCCG Open Heavens.

Memorise: And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee. – Jeremiah 1:19

Read: Jeremiah 1:4-8 (KJV)

4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

Bible in One Year: Titus 1-3 – Philemon 1, Psalms 22:22-31

MESSAGE:

According to Psalms 115:3, destiny has its origin in the sovereignty of God. It is also the plan that God had for you before creating you. It is what God says about your future. In other words, God had a purpose for your life, long before you were born. Joseph was a typical child of destiny. His brothers fought aggressively against his destiny. One good thing about destiny is that, your destiny, being the counsel of God for you, shall stand forever (Genesis 37:18-28). Joseph started his life experiences with the first and second dreams which set him at variance with his brothers and parents. The fulfilment of his destiny took him through Portiphar’s house, the prison and eventually the palace of the Egyptians.

In the text for today, the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah announcing his destiny to him. Jeremiah had been separated right from his mother’s womb to be a prophet. At times, we behave foolishly by arguing with God on why He called us; a call that is the reason for which we were born. More often than not, God’s plan for mankind does not appeal to the rational man, though it is the best for us.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” – Jeremiah 29:11

It is very important for us to embrace the truth in the above scripture. When we do, we shall not be guilty of spiritual insubordination. Jeremiah ignorantly argued:

“Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.” – Jeremiah 1:6

God called Moses to go and perform a task in Egypt but he was giving excuses of not being an eloquent speaker. Beloved, I want you to get something settled in your mind today; God does not call the qualified but qualifies the called so that He can take full glory for the success of the called.

The Lord said to Jeremiah;

“Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.” – Jeremiah 1:7

The Lord further encouraged him not to be afraid of the faces of those He was sending him to. This is a lesson for those of us who are too scared to deliver God’s message in our places of work, school, community etc. The Spirit of God will always give us something of eternal value to tell His people. God has destined you to be unique; it is left for you to allow Him to fulfil His purpose for your life. May the Lord fulfil your destiny gloriously in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point: Father, please help me to fulfil my destiny in Jesus’ name.

Do It Right! Sermon And Prayer Points By Pastor E A Adeboye. RCCG Open Heavens.

Read: 1 Samuel 15:16-23 (KJV)

16 Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.

17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.

22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Bible in One Year: 2 Timothy 1-4, Psalms 22:1-21

MESSAGE:

A good number of people confuse service of God’s approval or acceptance. It will be profitable for people, particularly children of God, to understand that it is one thing to engage in the service of God and it is another thing for God to accept your service. The simple message for today is – “just do it right, and God will accept you and your service”. The Bible says:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” – Romans 12:1

In our Bible reading today, we read of the first king in Israel who put sacrifice over and above being obedient to God and His Word. God told king Saul to go and utterly destroy the Amalekites and everything they possessed; from the king to the least of the beasts. However, Saul went, fought and won the battle, but failed to carry out God’s instruction to the letter. When he was cross-examined by Prophet Samuel, he had the effrontery to tell Samuel that he had done what God asked him to do, except the spoil of sheep and oxen which he took to use as sacrifice to the Lord. This unfortunately cost him his throne. Samuel said:

“…Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” –1 Samuel 15:22

There is a great lesson we should learn from the story of king Saul and the assignment he was given to fight the Amalekites. Some people seem to be more spiritual than the Holy Spirit when you consider the way they claim to know everything about the ways of God. It is not unlikely that king Saul felt it would be a waste of resources by totally destroying the material resources in Amalek. It is also not unlikely that he felt it will be an act of wickedness on the part of God to have asked him to kill the king, Agag. Beloved, there are many types of Amalekites and king Agags that God will want us to get rid of in our life. The Bible lists some things that we must do away with in Galatians 5:14-21

“19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” – Galatians 5:19-21

Some so-called workers in the Church are still harbouring these things that we are to get rid of, yet they are ‘zealously’ working for God. It is unfortunate that their labour attracts no reward. Jesus said that on that day, they will come and say:

“26 We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.” – Luke 13:26-27

May this not be your portion in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point: Father, please help me to be obedient, and begin to do the right thing in Your sight from now onward.

Let God Do It.

“I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be forever: nothing can be added to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him.” Ecclesiastes 3:14

 

 
I have noticed that some people’s lives are like roller coaster movement. They get an “ups and down” result. Things work fine today and the next day everything falls apart. They simply cannot stay on top. They get a breakthrough today and testify and the next day they are running around because of a challenge. They cannot seem to sustain the victory that the Lord has given them. Are you like that or do you know someone who is so challenged? Today, I believe the Lord has an answer for you. God doesn’t want you to be like the waves of the sea that is up this moment and down the next.

 
The Psalmist tells us in Psalm 127:1 “unless the Lord builds the house they labour in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city the watchman stays awake in vain”

 
One major reason for the roller-coaster life is because many struggle to get things done ourselves or even look unto others for help when they should actually look up to God to know His own agenda. They assume what works for one should work for them forgetting that God has His specific plan for every life; and it is only what God does that endures forever. So long as God is the doer you have a guarantee that it will stay. Yes there will be challenges on the way but you can go to bed and rest knowing that it will not last forever.
Stop trying to make things happen by yourself or looking up to other people to fix things up for us. Know that it is only what God does, that will last. Look unto God, He alone is the Author and Finisher of your faith. Don’t be a copy, be the original that God has made you.
Beloved, no matter the challenge you may be facing today ensure that God initiated whatever you are involved in now. If that is so, Relax, the storm will soon be over and your victory will stay forever.

Devil Came Calling. And God Said No. Father Narrates How His Son Survived A 4400kv Electric Shock From An Exposed Armored Cable In Lagos. Photos.

Jasper Ndubuaku shared the story of how his son miraculously survived a 4400 Kv electric shock from a 3300 kv armoured cable left exposed at Cele busstop in Lagos. According to Jasper, his son was thrown into a canal after the shock. He wrote on his Facebook wall:

The devil came calling. And God said no. I’ve been in Lagos since Monday 25th July looking after my Son Who just escaped death and is lying critically ill in a hospital in Festac town. My sons Obioha and Toby who are students of Kings college Lagos boarded an ABC bus to Owerri on Sunday the 24th of July at the Amuwo odofin park of the company.

The bus which was supposed to leave did not depart until about 9 30 am only to break down at Cele bus stop, less than 5 km away. Passengers in the vehicle testify that the motor mechanic in the bus confessed that he told the management that the bus was faulty and can not make that trip but was forced to follow the bus and effect repairs if it develops faults. On disembarking from the bus, my son was hit by the radiation heat of a 33 Kv armoured cable which Eko Discos left uncovered and exposed.

 

Gods work no 1. My son survived the more than 4400kv electric shock. 2. He was thrown into the canal by the shock where Good Samaritan passengers in the bus rushed and picked and dragged him up. 3 . His brother was in the bus and was cop posed enough to have borrowed a passengers phone to call me. A lot has happened between then and now but most importantly my son is alive. I have had the task of carrying him when he cannot walk. He had undergone a major surgery on the leg and the consultant tells me he has to observe him for another week or two. Meanwhile I’m fixed here in Lagos to the exclusion of every other thing nursing him. I remain most grateful to God that he spared his life. God is great. However I m shocked and surprised that ABC transport company that I handed my under aged sons to transport back to Owerri has as I post this not officially informed me of the where’re out of my children neither has the Eko discos on their attempts to kill my son.

 

The bills are on me according to the Doctor of the hospital my son is being treated. I will soldier on and save my son first. Every other thing will follow thereafter.
Please help me all and thank God. Only He would have made this possible. May his name be praised.
