Standing In The Gap.
John_14-16: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever

Ephesians 1:15-19
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
1 Timothy 2:1-3
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Introduction:
God is seeking for men and women who will stand in the gap for others. Standing in gap means interceding for others through prayers. This is a sacrifice of love to others. Paul the Apostle is a very good example of someone that stood in gap for others.
WHY SHOULD WE PRAY FOR OTHERS?
1. God Commands Us To Do So
Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
2. So That We May Live In Peace In Our Society.
1 Timothy 2:1-2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3. So that God will answer our prayers.
Job 42:10 (New International Version)
After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
Conclusion:
Interceding for others has delivered many people from the hands of the enemies. Stand in the gap for others from today.
