For every one that ask receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened (Luke 11:10)

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

For every one that ask receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened (Luke 11:10)

You have every right, as a child of God, to expect answers when you pray (John 15:16). But if you pray to God, doubting, you’re not going to get anything James 1:8 says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” No man can receive anything from God without faith (Hebrews 11:6)

The reason some people wouldn’t expect answers to their prayers is that they remember all their sins and failures as soon as they get on their knees to pray; they are overwhelmed by self-condemnation. Self-condemnation will destroy your faith. It’s impossible for a man to receive anything from God without faith and that means you wouldn’t be able to receive the answer to your prayer. The way out of this quagmire is to build yourself in God’s Word because you’re a spiritual babe.

The Bible says, “For every on that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe” (Hebrews 5:13). Righteousness is the nature of God that makes you stand before God without the feeling of guilt, inferiority or condemnation. If you condemn yourself incessantly, then you’re unskilled in the Word of Righteousness and as such, you’re a spiritual babe. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desires the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.” The Word of God can build you up in righteousness; “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…..” (Romans 1:17). You need to renew your mind with God’s Word and strengthen yourself in His righteousness. With this consciousness of your righteousness in Christ, you can confidently ask The Father, knowing that you’ll receive answer to your request.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly father! I thank You for giving me the opportunity to ask according to Your will, and the confidence that You will grant my request. Therefore, I ask that You cause me to work in favour today; in my job, school and home, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God Will Bless Your Effort

God Will Bless Your Effort

“The LORD shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in His season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow” (Deuteronomy 28:12)

I always feel so sorry for people who complain of unemployment. How can anyone complain about unemployment in a world this big? If you’re a child of God, you don’t need to cry that you don’t have a job; simply create one. Some, after reading this, might say sarcastically, “You make it sound so easy.”

This world abounds with opportunities. The truth however is that the wealth of the world and its riches belong to God, and He’s made them available to you: “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places that thou may know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, Am the God of Israel (Isaiah 45:3).  It’s up to you to decide to take advantage of the vast supplies in the earth. If that’s your decision, then ensure that you do something with your abilities.

When God called Moses, He asked him, “What do you have in your hands?” Moses replied, “A rod” He could have said “Nothing” because there wasn’t anything special about the rod until the power of God came upon it and it became the rod of God with which He performed miracles. It’s not enough to just sit down and dream. A dream that can’t begin today will never materialize. There must always be a connection between your dream and today. The connection has to be by faith and the Bible says faith is not complete without works.

What skill do you have that God can bless? Remember, you may start out small but when the power of God comes upon your effort it’ll prosper beyond your dreams. The Bible says there’s profit in all labour (Proverbs 14:23). So, if you don’t labour there will be no profit. That’s why you can’t afford to not have a job. If there’s no work, there’ll be no pay. There must be something you’re doing; there must be a point of contract for God to bless you. He wants to bless your effort and give you greater ideas.

Confession:

I believe in the ability of God in me to do creative things. I put that ability to work today. My spirit is alert to receive and I am prompt to respond to ideas from God in everything I do; for I know that whatever I lay my hands upon to do prospers, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Success can be defined as the ability to minimize your errors

Success can be defined as the ability to minimize your errors

Proverbs 22:3

Success can be defined as the ability to minimize your errors. The virtue that imparts this ability is prudence. Prudence is practical wisdom that is applicable everyday and every time. With it, you make wise choices and wise decisions. It ensures that you make fewer mistakes in your life by guiding you to make right choices. With this virtue, you’ll never be financially bankrupt. You’ll always get things right the first time you do them.

A prudent person is someone who is marked by sound judgment. If God endows you with prudence, others will take notice that you have such a virtue. When Job was in great distress, everybody who came to see him reminded him of his suffering. His wife advised him to curse God and die, but Job, standing his ground said, “………the counsel of the wicked is far from me” (Job 21:16). Job was able to stand his ground because he refused the wrong counsel.

What people need today to strengthen the virtue of prudence is the counsel of God’s Word; nothing else can replace it. It’s the only correct answer to every human need or desire. “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge” (Proverbs 18:15). You must make personal efforts to study God’s Word. This way, your path in life will be directed by the Word of God. This is what will guide you into making the right decisions.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You because You have endowed me with prudence and have made me wise in heart. Open my eyes to see my way in life and enlighten my understanding so I can get things right the first time, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Any man without self control is as defenceless as a city with broken down walls

Any man without self control is as defenceless as a city with broken down walls

READ: 1 Corinthians 9:27

Do you know that many people have missed their time of visitation just because they allowed their bodies dictate to them? I’m talking about those who have little or no control over their senses. Such people find it difficult to fast or pray and they eventually concluded that God will give them whatever they desire whenever He’s ready to give them. How untrue! God doesn’t operate that way.

A lot of times when God wants to reveal deep things to you, He tries to catch your attention so that you can focus on Him. Every now and then, He wakes you up in the middle of the night to pray. If you haven’t learnt to master your body, you’ll continue sleeping and miss out on what God wants to do in your life. But if you have been able to master your body and senses like Paul The Apostle, you’ll never miss out on any of such visitations from the LORD.

Proverbs 25:28 says, “Any man without self-control is a defenceless as a city with broken-down walls” (TLB). The importance of being able to master your body can’t be downplayed, especially in the life of the Christian. Always remember that the life you have in Christ Jesus is spiritual, though you live in a body. Therefore, refuse to be ruled by your body; rather build your spirit in God’s Word and in prayer until you’re able to master your body. This is how to remain sensitive to everything God is doing in your life. You’ll always be alert and in control of every situation around you; nothing will catch you unawares. Make up your mind to dominate your body today. It will save you much more than it costs!

Prayers:

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me the ability to discipline my body. Every day as I fellowship with Your Word, I become more and more acquainted with how to walk in self control, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Before your burden overcomes you. Trust God to put His arms underneath you.

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Before your burden overcomes you, trust God to put His arms underneath you.

Have you ever been in so much despair that you felt as if you were sinking in deep water? The difficulties of life can be oppressive. God doesn’t promise that we will escape the turbulent seas of life, but He does promise, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews. 13:5).

We can trust our faithful Father to be there in all of our struggles. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you” (Isaiah. 43:2).

God, give me the faith of a little child!
A faith that will look to Thee—
That never will falter and never fail,
But follow Thee trustingly,

In Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen!

“For there is One God and One Mediator between God and mankind, The Man Christ
Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed
to at the proper time.”

Fellowshipping In Love

Fellowshipping In Love

Acts 19:23

“And about that time there arose a great commotion about the Way.”
NKJV

The people of Ephesus either loved Paul or hated Paul. Why? Paul had a holy restlessness, a stirring in his heart that drove him to great lengths to share the Gospel message. It is important we understand that Christianity is not just about getting along with everybody. All of us are individually gifted and crafted for a unique purpose, but it doesn’t end there. If we do not use our gifts, it profits no one. In the same way, if our relationship with one another does not transform us, it’s not much of a relationship. Ministry changes people. It puts people together in situations that are often uncomfortable and stretches us in ways that we never thought possible. It causes us to drop our masks and be honest with one another.

Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.”

We are to think about one another, and how we can love and encourage one another. We are to stir up (incite or provoke) love and good works in one another. This is not always going to be comfortable, and it is not always going to be received in the way that we intended. Maybe that’s why the very next verse in Hebrews reads,

Hebrews 10:25 “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

I find it interesting that the verse telling us to stir up love and good works in one another is followed by a verse telling us to stay in fellowship. Why? Well, sometimes we can be offended by another’s encouragement. We’ve been chugging along thinking we’re doing great and then someone offers a word of encouragement that stirs us up. In a huff, we leave the fellowship. One of the resources God has provided for meeting our needs is other believers. When we sacrifice fellowship for comfort, we’re like an antelope separated from the herd. Suddenly, it’s not a question of ‘if’ we will be attacked, but ‘when’ we will be attacked.

Life Lesson: Ministry stirs things up.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You so much for the family that You have placed around me. Please give me a burden for the lost. Give me a burden to minister and encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ. Please take away any fear I have of doing this, and forgive me for the times when I have neglected to do this. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Be Inspired To Serve

Be Inspired To Serve

“A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent” (Proverbs 28:20)

No matter the job or business you do, don’t let your utmost motivation stem from how much money you desire to make. Rather, be motivated by the dream of service; be inspired to serve! The Bible says a faithful man shall abound with blessings; that means he’ll surely prosper. A faithful man is a man that serves. If you’re a wife, mother, grandmother, politicians, student, civil servant, civil right leader, policeman, business man or business woman, let serving people be your dream. Become people and service – conscious.

God is more mindful and concerned about people than anything else. So, when you’re concerned about serving people through your work, God will be concerned about your success and prosperity – everything you do will prosper. Greed is what has stopped many from serving their nation and people the way they should. The undue ambition for gain and inordinate desire to amass wealth is an enemy of success; never let it rule your life.

As Christians we’ve been called to service; of both God and mankind. Be inspired by the importance of your job or business for the betterment of society. Don’t let the desire to have things be your driving force in life. Daisy Osborne said, “Work on being and not on having; for with what you are, you will have.” Don’t try to have cars, money, a vast estate or business empire; don’t try to have anything! Become something first and you will have.

The question you should always ask yourself is “Who am I? What have I made out of myself? How have I invested in my personality to make myself relevant and indispensable to my world?”  That’s what you need to do; investing in your personality to make you needed, relevant and indispensable to your generation. That’s the mentality of a service – conscious person.

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father!

I pray for increased grace and wisdom to serve You and at the same time be relevant to my generation. I ask that by Your Spirit, You help me affect my world and impact everyone I meet with the investment of my personality, in Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Are You A Doer? Or A Hearer Of The Word Of The Lord?

Are You A Doer? Or A Hearer Of The Word Of The Lord?

2 Kings 23:3-4

“Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the LORD all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.”
NKJV

I’ve met many Christians who know the Bible inside and out. They can quote scripture after scripture, word for word with verse references and even comment on the meaning. I’ve met fewer who actually do The Word Of GOD. This astounds me. What if a 16 year old kid memorizes the driver’s exam study book and aces the exam, but then goes out and runs every red light he comes across? He’s going to get hurt and will probably hurt someone else in the process. The same is true with the Word of God. Think of some Christians on street corners with sandwich boards and megaphones hardening the hearts of everyone around them. They have the ‘head knowledge’ but they have not made the ‘heart application’.

To the other extreme are Christians who use church as a social club. They nod their heads and ‘Amen‘ the pastor, but their day to day life speaks nothing of following Jesus Christ. Solid biblical teaching assigns the hearer the responsibility to act on what they learn. So, where do you fall in this? Are you a Doer or just a Hearer of The Word Of God?

Life Lesson: We need to be acting on the Word of God.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me. Please forgive me for times when I have failed to live by Your Word. I thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to make doing what You tell me the priority in my life. Help me to love You and to love others. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

“I will make the people who oppose you afraid of me; I will bring confusion among the people against whom you fight, and I will make all your enemies turn and run from you. (Exodus 23:27)

Read:  Exodus 23:27-30

One of the benefits of God’s presence is fame. In the world, people go to ridiculous extent just to be famous; but do you know that if you can pay the price to be a carrier of God’s presence, you will attract honour, fame, popularity, promotion and joy? Joshua became famous through God’s presence.

So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country. Joshua 6:27

Joshua never thought he could step into the shoes of his master Moses. By the time God chose him, he battled with fear for some time. God had to keep encouraging him. What assisted him to succeed was the presence of God upon his life. As a result of this, not long after, he became known locally and internationally. If you want to be known or to be popular, simply key into God’s presence, be a carrier of His mighty presence and in al little while, you will become famous.

On the other hand, God’s presence can bring terror upon the enemies. When believers flee before their enemies, I begin to wonder what has gone wrong; it should be the other way round, for God has promised us that no enemy would be able to withstand us. Genesis 35:5 says:

Any they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

When God places His terror upon your enemies, they will be afraid of you. They will be incapable of hurting you, anyone or anything associated with you. This season, the terror of God shall come upon your enemies, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen! You shall be UNTOUCHABLE to them. From today, your enemies shall be afraid of you, Amen! Any of them that planned to harm you will receive a divine rebuke. Do not fear the enemy. Stop running from them. They will be the one running from you. Every blessing that your enemies have stolen shall be restored with speed this season in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

PRAYER POINT:

Dear Heavenly Father!

Send Your Fire upon every device of the enemies meant to cause accidents on our roads this season, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

I Have Fought The Good Fight, I Have Finished The Race, I Have Kept The Faith. (2 TIMOTHY 4:7).

Apostle Paul

Max:  I sit a few feet from a man on death row.  Jewish by birth.  Tentmaker by trade.  Apostle by calling.  His days are marked.
Do you have family, Paul?

Paul:  I have none.

Max: What about your health?

Paul:  My body is beaten and tired.

Max:  Do you have friends?

Paul:  I do, but some have turned back.

Max:  What do you have, Paul?  No belongings. No family.  Criticized by some.  Mocked by others.  What do you have, Paul?
(I sit back quietly and watch.  Paul rolls his hand into a fist.  He looks at it.  I look at it.  What is he holding?  What does he have?

Paul:  I have my faith.  It’s all I have.  But it’s all I need.  I have kept the faith.
(Paul leans back against the wall of his cell and smiles).

Max:  Faith is trusting what the eye can’t see!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Get Ready! Jesus Is Coming Soon!

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins

Get Ready! Jesus Is Coming Soon

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 25:13.
This verse concludes the parable of the ten virgins, where five had oil
in their lamps and were ready to go out, and five were foolish and
missed the marriage.

In the seven churches Jesus addressed in
Revelation 2 and 3, there were people in every church who had received
eternal life, whose names were written in the book of life. Satan had
infiltrated six of those churches, and to those Jesus said: “To him
that overcometh those issues….” The overcomer was found ready.
This verse contains the point of the parable: watch therefore. In other
words, be ready, because you don’t know the time when the Son of Man
will come. Being ready means to be faithful. It means to be true.
To be ready, you can’t lose your first love. You can’t be a
compromiser. You can’t deny Jesus. You can’t allow false doctrine. You
can’t get caught up in all the pleasures of this world. You have to
overcome those problems, act on the Word, and keep a proper focus.
Prayer for Today
Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to be ready! I want to be true! I want to be totally sold out to
the purposes of Your kingdom. I will stay true through Your grace and
Your power! In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
