Growing In God’s Grace

Ephesians_2-8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians_2-8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Texts:

John 1:14-18:

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

2-Corinthians_12-9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me

2-Corinthians_12-9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me

2 Peter 3:14-18:

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

2-Timothy_2-1-1: Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus

2-Timothy_2-1-1: Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus

Titus 2:5-14:

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. 7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. 9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; 10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

INTRODUCTION:

In the sight of a natural man, grace is his power, skill and strength. God bestows His grace onus because He is rich in mercy and great love through Christ Jesus. Grace, by Christian definition, is an unmerited favour of God which He showed to mankind

Titus 2:11:

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men

Ephesians 2:8-9:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

May the expectation of God be fulfilled on the grace He has given to you.

STEPS TO GROWING IN GRACE

There is need to adhere ourselves to the underlisted order to grow in grace and become a living sanctuary of God.

EXAMINE YOURSELF DAILY.

2 Corinthians 13:5:

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

MAINTAIN AN INTIMATE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.

Roman 12:12:

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer

UTILISE THE GIFT OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE.

Romans 12:6-8:

6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Matthew 25:15-30

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

1 Timothy. 4:14:

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Endure hardship for righteousness sake.

Matthew 5:10-1 2:

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

2 Timothy. 2:3-5:

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Expect the blessed hope at Christ’s coming.

Titus 2-13.

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ

CONCLUSION:

You do not work for grace; it is the gift of God, called the unmerited favour. Release yourselfto the power ofthe Holy Spirit and you shall grow in Him.

God’s Grace! How Important is It To You?

Ephesians_2-8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians_2-8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Acts 20:24

I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given to me — the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

Psalms_84-11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly

Psalms_84-11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly

How important is grace to you? Paul said it was more important than his life! Telling about grace was more important to Paul than his life! In fact, that was his life!

Prayer:

Almighty God, Holy Father, thank You for Your lavish grace demonstrated and fully expressed in sending Jesus to die for me. As Your child, and in thanks to Your sacrificial gift, I pledge to You my life, my love, and my all. Through Jesus Christ, Amen!
