God’s Grace And Favour!

Romans 1:7

…Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

When you fly first class in an airplane, the cabin crew gives you first-class treatment. They ask you, “Is everything okay with you, sir?” They ask you what magazines you want to read. They give you a blanket if you are cold. They give you the best kinds of food. They give you preferential treatment compared to those traveling in economy class.

The grace of God is defined as “undeserved, unearned and unmerited favour”. And one of the definitions for favour is “preferential treatment”! Today, God wants you to know that you have His favour on you. He wants you to know that He gives you preferential treatment which you do not deserve. And He wants you to depend on and take full advantage of it in your life.

God also wants you to know that His favour in your life can be increased. You can experience more of His favour from day to day. How? The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 1:2 that God’s grace (or favour) is multiplied to us “in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”. The more you behold Jesus and His love for you, the more you believe and confess that God’s favour is on you, the more you will see His favour work for you.

So If you are a businessman, you will find people just wanting to do business with you because they like you and feel good about you. Then, you will have more business than you can handle and you will need to plan for expansion!

When the favour of God shines on your church, you will find its premises too small for the people who queue up week after week to attend the services! So when people wonder and ask, “What is happening here?” you can tell them, “It is the favour of God multiplied all over us!” And it is all undeserved, unearned and unmerited!

Obstacles To Salvation. Bible Study Outlines.

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 4:1-6.

INTRODUCTION: Satan has blinded the hearts of many people such that despite several obstacles God allowed to be created on their path to hell, they are adamant and have hardened their hearts to the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

HINDERANCES TO SALVATION.

The following could hinder a man from receiving the salvation made available by God through Jesus Christ.

1.       Fear of persecution 2 Timothy 3:12, 1 Peter 2:19-23.

2.       Comfort and riches, 2 Timothy 6:9-10; Proverbs 10:22.

3.       Much intellectual and human achievement 1 Timothy 6:20-21; Philippians 3:3-10.

4.       False security Isaiah 31:1; Psalm 97:7.

5.       Self – Righteousness, Isaiah 64:6; Romans 10:3.

6.       Worldliness James4:4; 2 Timothy 4:10; 1 John 2:15-17.

7.       Lust for position or power Ecclesiastes 2:9-11; Psalm 62:11.

8.       Covetousness, Luke 12:15; Proverbs 15:16.

9.       Desire to please men, 1 Samuel 31:4; 2 Samuel 1:5-16.

10.   Religious Activities Matthew 5:20.

11.   Some definite life’s ambition, Matthew 26:14-16.

12.   Besetting ng Sins, Hebrews 12:1

13.   Ignorance, 1 Timothy 1:13

CONCLUSION: Can you identify the one(s) the devil has been using against you or can easily use against you?
