Sometimes we don’t recognize the miracles God sends to us. If we’re not careful,
we can miss every one of them

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you

James 4:8

If God stood before you today with your miracle – the miracle that you are desperate
for – and offered it to you on a silver platter for you free, would you accept it?
Would you say “yes” to your miracle?

You probably think, “That’s silly. Of course, I would! Doesn’t everyone say yes
to a miracle?”

I love the story of the man who was home alone when it began to rain. Before long,
his house was flooded and the rising waters had covered his feet. He went outside
and saw a man on a raft drift by.

“Need a lift?” the man called.

“No, thanks. I have prayed for a miracle. I’ll wait for my miracle.” So, the raft
sailed out of sight.

Before long, the waters were up to his knees, and another man came into sight rowing
a canoe. He asked, “Need a lift?”

“No, thanks. I have prayed for a miracle. I’ll wait for my miracle.”

The canoe rowed out of sight and soon the waters were up to his chest. A motorboat
powered up to his house. “Jump in before it’s too late!”

“No, thanks. I’m waiting for my miracle.”

When the waters were up to his chin, a helicopter flew over, hovered, and a rope
ladder was dropped to within inches of his face. “Grab on before you drown!”

“No, thanks. I’m waiting for my miracle.”

Suddenly the man was standing before St. Peter at the pearly gates. Astonished,
the man said, “Hey, what’s this all about? I prayed and believed in a miracle!”

St. Peter replied, “We sent you three boats and a helicopter!”

Sometimes we don’t recognize the miracles God sends to us. If we’re not careful,
we can miss every one. So, Lord, show us – through Your Word and through Your children
– the miracle. Give us the courage to say “yes,” to grab on to Your miracles, and
to hold on for dear life!

PRAYER:
Lord, I do not want to miss Your miracle for me. You do not want me to miss my miracle.
So, open my eyes and reveal Your miracle. Make it obvious and then give me the courage
to grab on and hang on for dear life! Amen.

How will you know when to say “yes” to God’s miracles?

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it

Micah 2:1-2

“Woe to those who devise iniquity, and work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. They covet fields and take them by violence, Also houses, and seize them. So they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.”
NKJV

In the verse above, we see those in power taking advantage of the people. The world believes that it is acceptable to take advantage of others for gain of position or authority. If you are a leader in the workplace, do you take advantage of the system to benefit yourself? Friend, let me make this more personal. Do you take advantage of your family, friends or co-workers for your benefit? When we get to know a person, we know how to set them off or manipulate them for what we want. That is ungodly and God does not bless the unbiblical practices of deception.

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” NKJV

Even in times when it seems there is no other option but to bend the truth for your benefit, God provides a way out. Taking responsibility for your actions is an important characteristic of a Godly disciple. God will always honour you when you take responsibility for your mistakes, even when it’s difficult. Live out the Biblical model that God entrusted to you in regards to your relationships even when it doesn’t make sense.

In the end, it comes down to your making a decision about Jesus. How far will you follow Jesus in your relationships? Until it gets inconvenient – uncomfortable – what about when it becomes painful? Are you willing to follow the Biblical model all the way? What will you decide? Gain for yourself or lay your life down for the sake of the Gospel?

Life Lesson: One characteristic of a Godly leader is to do what is Biblical even when it causes personal hardship.

Dear Father:
Thank You for loving me. Thank You for continuing to do a work in my life. You have called me to live a disciple’s life, and I choose to honour You in living out the model You have set before me. Lord, when things get tough and I mess up, empower me with courage and strength to live out Your Truth and encourage others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Everything You Wanted and More! (Jesus Turned Water Into wine)

And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of

the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted

the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was (but the

servants which drew the water knew);

John 2:8-9

Jesus told the servants, “Fill the waterpots with water.” They followed

instructions fully, filling the pots to the brim. By a miracle of God,

the waterpots now held expensive wine instead of water. The governor

called the bridegroom and said, “Hey, you saved the best wine for last.

This isn’t ordinary!”

Once again, Jesus provided a financial miracle. And once again, He

didn’t just provide enough; He provided everything they wanted and

more. What group of people could drink up to 180 gallons of wine at the

end of a party? God is in the business of providing miracles, and He

wants to provide financial miracles for you!

Every Other Miracle Prepare For The Grand Miracle

Every Other Miracle Prepares for the Grand Miracle

Written by Sheila Schuller Coleman

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory
as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” -John 1:14/ESV

I absolutely love this quote from C. S. Lewis in his book, Miracles, and I feel
it is important to delve deeper into it. As you may recall, C.S. Lewis reminds us
that all of us have already received the one miracle we all need. Without it – we
are lost forever. He calls it the Grand Miracle – the incarnation – when God became
man – and that Man, Jesus, died in our place and is risen.

C. S. Lewis had this to say about the Grand Miracle: “Every other miracle prepares
for this, or exhibits this, or results from this.” Every other miracle prepares
for the Grand Miracle! All the Old Testament miracles are building blocks leading
up to the pinnacle – the Grand Miracle – Jesus, who came from the Hebrew nation
to be the Messiah, the Christ, the Promised Redeemer foretold in Isaiah.

God wanted to reveal Himself to man by becoming man. So He prepared for the Grand
Miracle through many miracles we learn about in the Old Testament. For example:

* Sarah bore Isaac at the age of 99 – and the Hebrew Nation, and eventually Jesus
Christ, was born of this miracle!

* God delivered His children from Egypt – through many, many miracles! The Israelites
had been oppressed in slavery for 430 years. They had forgotten God. God needed
to deliver them and demonstrate His presence, His power, His providence (through
manna, etc.) in the wilderness to prepare them for the Grand Miracle – the coming
of His Son Jesus.

The miracles of the Old Testament prepare for the Grand Miracle as described in
the New Testament – the birth, the crucifixion, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ
– eternal life – for you and me. What other miracle do we need? And, if God would
not withhold this miracle, would He withhold any other miracle we need?

PRAYER:

Father God, I am amazed that You would come to earth, clothed in human form to be
the Grand Miracle – that we would know You, and see You, and be saved by Your grand
act of love and compassion. Thank You! Amen.

What other miracles can you think of that prepared us for the Grand Miracle – the
coming of Jesus the Christ?

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

God can do things that you never thought would happen

God can do things that you never thought would happen

For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak
shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days,
O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith
the Lord GOD
Ezekiel 12:25

In Scripture, we see that God has many ways to prosper people
financially and to get wealth to them. God has used kings, lepers, and even fish. God has used waterpots, estranged family members and a boy’s
lunch. God has numerous ways to get your blessing to you. God can do
things that you never thought would happen. He can cause income to show
up in a way that you never knew could occur.

As a believer, it doesn’t make sense for you to try to figure out how
God is going to do it. When you do that, all you are doing is
wondering. Wondering is wavering, and wavering means you are going to
do without. So instead of wondering how God is going to bless you, lift
your hands and believe God is going to do it!

He’s the Most High God, and whatever He says always come to pass.

God is still in the business of performing the miraculous (Readied to donate organs, 21 year old emerge from coma

By Susan Donaldson James – Good Morning AmericaYahoo News

Sam Schmid, an Arizona college student believed to be brain dead and poised to be an organ donor, miraculously recovered just hours before doctors were considering taking him off life support.

Schmid, a junior and business major at the University of Arizona was critically wounded in an Oct. 19 five – car accident in Tucson.

The 21-year-old’s brain injuries were so severe that the local hospital could not treat him. He was airlifted to the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix, where specialists performed surgery for a life-threatening aneurysm.

As hospital officials began palliative care and broached the subject of organ donation with his family, Schmid began to respond, holding up two fingers on command. Today he is walking with the aid of a walker, and his speech, although slow, has improved.

Doctors say he will likely have a complete recovery. He even hopes to get a day pass from the hospital to celebrate the holidays with his large extended family.

“Nobody could ever give me a better Christmas present than this — ever, ever, ever,” said his mother, Susan Regan, who is vice-president of the insurance company Lovitt-Touche.

“I tell everyone, if they want to call it a modern-day miracle, this is a miracle,” said Regan, 59, and a Catholic. “I have friends who are atheists who have called me and said, ‘I am going back to church.'”

Schmid’s doctor, renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Spetzler, agreed that his recovery was miraculous.

“I am dumb-founded with his incredible recovery in such a short time,” said Spetzler. “His recovery was really remarkable considering the extent of his lethal injuries.”

Hospital officials are crediting Spetzler with having a “hunch” that despite an initially dire prognosis, the young man would make it. But he said it was “reasonable” for others to consider withdrawing the patient from life support.

“It looked like all the odds were stacked against him,” said Spetzler, who has performed more than 6,000 such surgeries and trained the doctor who operated on Congressman Gabrielle Giffords after she was shot at the beginning of this year.

During surgery, Spetzler clipped the balloonlike aneurysm in the blood vessel — “as if I were patching a tire,” a procedure that eventually worked.

For days Schmid didn’t seem to be responding, but what puzzled his doctor was that he did not see fatal injuries on the MRI scan. So he decided to keep Schmid on life support longer.

“There was plenty wrong — he had a hemorrhage, an aneurysm and a stroke from the part of the aneurysm,” Spetzler said. “But he didn’t have a blood clot in the most vital part of his brain, which we know he can’t recover from. And he didn’t have a massive stroke that would predict no chance of a useful existence.”

So while the family was given a realistic picture of Schmid’s poor chances for survival, Spetzler ordered one more MRI to see if the critical areas of the brain had turned dark, indicating brain death.

“If not, we would hang on and keep him on support,” he said. “But I didn’t want to give the family false hope.”

Schmid’s mother said no one “specifically” asked if her son would be a donor, but they “subtly talk to you about quality of life.”

“At some point, I knew we had to make some sort of decision, and I kept praying,” said Regan.

The MRI came back with encouraging news during the day and by evening Schmid “inexplicably” followed the doctors’ commands, holding up two fingers.

“It was like fireworks all going off at the same time,” said Spetzler.

Today, Schmid — his speech clear and sounding upbeat — told ABCNews.com, “I feel fine. I’m in a wheelchair, but I am getting lots of help.”

Sam Schmid Has No Memory of the Accident

He said he remembers nothing of the accident nor coming around after being in an induced coma. “It wasn’t until I woke up in rehab,” he said. “But they told me about afterwards.”

Schmid was returning from coaching basketball at his former Catholic school when a van swerved into his lane. The Jeep in which he was riding went airborne, hit a light pole and landed on its side.

Schmid’s left hand and both of his femurs broke and required surgery. But the worst were the traumatic head injuries, which were complex and nearly always fatal.

All those involved say the support that Schmid got from family and friends — and especially the care at Barrow — may have made the difference. His brother John, a 24-year-old IT specialist, took a leave of absence from his job in Chicago to be at his brother’s bedside.

Family flew in from around the country, and Delta Chi fraternity brothers made regular visits, even creating a mural for their friend.

“It seems like we were being led down a path to plan for the worst and that things were not going to work out,” said John Schmid. “The miracle, to put it bluntly, was that in a matter of seven days, we went from organ donation to rehab. What a roller coaster it was.”

He said his brother’s speech is slow, but he understands what others are saying. Sam Schmid’s athleticism — as a basketball coach and snowboard instructor — probably helped, he said.

“Honestly, I am at a loss for words,” said John Schmid. “I am just so proud of Sam. He’s got a strong constitution and he’s very determined. But it’s been quite an eye-opener for me — a real learning curve. You can’t take anything for granted.”

Sam Schmid’s surgeon agrees.

“You get incredible highs when you save someone facing neurological devastation or death,” said Spetzler. “That is counter-pointed by the incredible lows when you fail to help someone.”

“In a way, his recovery was truly miraculous,” he said. “It’s a great Christmas story.”

Ever the scientist, Spetzler wasn’t willing to speculate what a comatose patient hears. But he admits, “There are so many things we don’t understand about the brain and what happens at the time someone is near death.”

“The whole family was at his side during the day and at night hovering over him, then to see there was a chance after being ready to let go,” he said. “But I am very much a big believer that positive thoughts and positive energy in a room can only help.”

You are a good candidate for a miracle

God is working on your behalf, trust Him

2 Peter 3:9

Has there ever been a time when you felt so bound by your circumstances that you thought you would never be released? Without a doubt, Peter’s situation, from a human standpoint, seemed impossible. However, from God’s perspective nothing was further from the truth. It was an opportunity for Him to display His awesome power through Peter’s life.

While the church was praying for his release, Peter was resting. In fact, he was asleep! Most of us would have been awake, anxiously watching the door and wondering what was going to happen next. But not Peter. He was in the centre of God’s loving will. Life is not void of trouble and heartache. Sometimes His plan for us includes difficulty.

When trouble strikes and you feel as though your world is falling apart, do you have this same type of faith? Many of us don’t. We may start out thinking, “Now Lord, You know my needs. Please help me.” However, when time drags on and the door to freedom remains closed, we begin to wonder what has happened to God. Has He left the scene? The answer is no. He is right where He always is – beside you, with you, and living His life out through you.

Peter was not worried about tomorrow because his eyes were set on Christ. Being handcuffed to him was probably similar to being chained to the apostle Paul. We can imagine that at every opportunity, those who were guarding him had the opportunity to hear about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

“The Lord is not slow about fulfilling His promises” (2 Peter 3:9). What may seem like forever to you is not even a moment to God who is infinite and eternal. Peter’s amazing release came at just the right time – the middle of the night. When life appears the darkest, the light of God’s hope will find you. Your Saviour is working on your behalf, and He will answer your prayer.

If Satan has hemmed you in on all sides, if he has handcuffed you and you see no way out, then you are a good candidate for a miracle!

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

We are miracle workers

WE ARE MIRACLE WORKERS

Verily, verily, I say
unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and
greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:112)

Our Lord Jesus Christ
performed several miracles while He was here on earth; He healed the sick,
raised the dead, multiplied food, and turned water into wine. His life was an
unending stream of the miraculous. As He prepared to leave the earth, He
declared that those who believed in Him would do even greater works than He
did. That means He has made us miracle workers just like Him! He said “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than
these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

When Peter and John met the crippled man at the gate of the
temple, Peter said “Silver and gold have I
none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
rise up and walk”
(Acts 3:6). Then Peter grabbed the man’s hand and lifted
him up and he walked! Peter didn’t pray to God to heal the man; Peter performed
the miracle in the Name of Jesus Christ! That’s the kind of life He’s called us
to live. Remember the words of the Master:
“Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you”
(Acts
1:8). Power is the “dynamic ability to cause changes”

The question therefore is: have you received the Holy Ghost?
If you have, then you’re a miracle worker like Our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ, for it was the Holy Ghost in Him that made Him do those works. Whether it’s
someone around you who needs the miracle, or it’s you, you can effect the
change you desire. Is someone sick around you? Go ahead and lay your hands on
that one and demand a recovery in the Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Is it a miracle you need at work? Declare the change you want to see in the
Name of Jesus Christ! You have no reason to feel disadvantaged or helpless
anymore, because miracle-working ability is in you now!

CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank
You for putting Your Spirit within me. He is the difference in my life and the
power through which I effect changes in my circumstances. I am a
miracle-worker, and so there is no disadvantage to me or to those around me! In
Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

Christianity Is More Than Word. It’s Miraculous.

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Image via Wikipedia

Without the
miraculous the cross of Christ would lose its impact and become another dead
religion. This would bring the cross of Christ to the realm of reason and
argument. If this were to be, then the Word of God could only be delivered by
orators. True Christianity however is in the demonstration of the Spirit and of
Power. Anything short of this is substandard. ‘

Several
years ago, I heard TL Osborn tell his great inspirational story. He was a
missionary in India with his wife. They ministered to thousands of Hindus,
Moslems and several other people who had never heard the gospel of Jesus
Christ, but they weren’t winning as many people as they had anticipated. The
more they tried the lesser the result they had. Frustrated, TL Osborn and his
wife went back to America. He decided to study the Bible like he had never done
before. While he studied, the Lord Jesus appeared to him in a vision and he had
life – transforming revelations. As marvellous as these experience were, they
weren’t enough!

One day, he
saw an advert inviting people to a healing crusade organized by another man of
God and he decided to go. When he got to the crusade he saw the man of God
perform different kinds of miracles in the Name of Jesus; the lame walked the
blind saw and the dumb spoke. As he watched all these things he heard a
thousand voices saying, “You can do that
….you can do that …….you can do that ….”
He had received the revelation of
Jesus in the book and then in a vision. Now, he got the greatest revelation of
all; the revelation of Jesus in a man. He and his wife went back to India this
time armed with a fresh revelation of Jesus the Christ. As he mounted the
platform to minister, deaf ears were unstopped, blind eyes opened, the lame
jumped and danced for joy; there were mighty demonstrations of the power of the
Spirit. Thousands of souls were also won to Christ. It’s been that way in his
ministry ever since.

We can’t
make the necessary impact in the world for Jesus without the miraculous.
Therefore, don’t take anyone who says otherwise seriously, irrespective of his
status or reputation, for he or she surely doesn’t truly believe in Jesus
Christ!

PRAYER

DEAR FATHER, I THANK
YOU FOR GIVING ME A MESSAGE THAT WORKS! THANK YOU FOR BACKING MY WORDS WITH
MIRACLES IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, AMEN!
