Every Other Miracle Prepares for the Grand Miracle

Written by Sheila Schuller Coleman

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory
as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” -John 1:14/ESV

I absolutely love this quote from C. S. Lewis in his book, Miracles, and I feel
it is important to delve deeper into it. As you may recall, C.S. Lewis reminds us
that all of us have already received the one miracle we all need. Without it – we
are lost forever. He calls it the Grand Miracle – the incarnation – when God became
man – and that Man, Jesus, died in our place and is risen.

C. S. Lewis had this to say about the Grand Miracle: “Every other miracle prepares
for this, or exhibits this, or results from this.” Every other miracle prepares
for the Grand Miracle! All the Old Testament miracles are building blocks leading
up to the pinnacle – the Grand Miracle – Jesus, who came from the Hebrew nation
to be the Messiah, the Christ, the Promised Redeemer foretold in Isaiah.

God wanted to reveal Himself to man by becoming man. So He prepared for the Grand
Miracle through many miracles we learn about in the Old Testament. For example:

* Sarah bore Isaac at the age of 99 – and the Hebrew Nation, and eventually Jesus
Christ, was born of this miracle!

* God delivered His children from Egypt – through many, many miracles! The Israelites
had been oppressed in slavery for 430 years. They had forgotten God. God needed
to deliver them and demonstrate His presence, His power, His providence (through
manna, etc.) in the wilderness to prepare them for the Grand Miracle – the coming
of His Son Jesus.

The miracles of the Old Testament prepare for the Grand Miracle as described in
the New Testament – the birth, the crucifixion, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ
– eternal life – for you and me. What other miracle do we need? And, if God would
not withhold this miracle, would He withhold any other miracle we need?

PRAYER:

Father God, I am amazed that You would come to earth, clothed in human form to be
the Grand Miracle – that we would know You, and see You, and be saved by Your grand
act of love and compassion. Thank You! Amen.

What other miracles can you think of that prepared us for the Grand Miracle – the
coming of Jesus the Christ?

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The sacrifice of praise

By Him therefore let s offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name (Hebrews 13:15)

The sacrifice of praise are the confessions, declarations, psalms, hymns and spiritual songs of the glory, grace and goodness of God that we make unto Him. It’s different from saying, “I praise You Lord, I just thank You for everything…..”Praise is more than that. Praising God means giving thanks to His Name for definite reasons.

In the Old Testament, the priests offered specific offerings to God; they offered sacrifices of burnt offerings and burnt incense, according to the specifications of the law. We also in the New Testament are admonished to offer sacrifices of praise to God and Hebrews 13:15 clearly describes the content of the sacrifice we’ve been called to offer: “By Him (Jesus Christ) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name.”

As you worship the Lord and adore Him, making confessions to His Name, you’re offering unto Him the sacrifice of praise. As you offer quality praise and present your body to Him as a living sacrifice, you send forth incense unto Him, and His presence rubs-off on you and overshadows you.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word, the entrance of which has given me light and understanding today, concerning true worship! Thus, from the depths of my heart this day, I worship You for Your goodness and grace towards me, I thank You for making me a heir of the eternal salvation You wrought through Christ Jesus! Amen!

HONOURING YOUR PARENTS

Honour your father and mother that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12

My dad recently turned 90 years old and his physical capabilities are fading. He can still move around with his walker, but he needs someone to cook his meals and help him with other tasks.

My older brother Steve and his wife Judy lived close to him, so they decided to move in with Dad to care for him. Wanting to help in some way, my wife and I flew across the country to help out a bit by watching Dad while my brother and his wife had some time away together. We enjoyed our time with my father and were glad to ease Steve and Judy’s load – even if it was only for a few days.

The Bible says to “honour your father and mother” (Eph. 6:2). One New Testament commentary says that to honour someone is to “treat him with the deference, respect, reverence, kindness, courtesy, and obedience which his station in life…..demands.”

For young children, this means obeying your parents. For teenagers, it indicates showing respect for Mom and Dad even if you think you know more than they do. For young adults, this means including your parents in your life. And for those in middle-age and beyond, it means making sure that parents are cared for as they move into old age or their health declines.

Sons Of God

SONS OF GOD

Now there was a day
when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and satan came
also among them (Job 1:6)

The phrase “Son of God” as used in the scripture above
doesn’t refer to men, but to angels. Satan also came amongst them because he
used to be God’s anointed cherub before he fell (Ezekiel 28:14-15).

However, in the New Testament, the term “Sons of God” is
used differently. It refers to a new race of people; a completely new species
that never existed before. They’re the offspring of the Most High God,
partakers of the divine nature (2Peter 1:4) – Born Again – with the very life
and nature of God. They’re not subject to the ordinary circumstances of life;
they neither burn out nor expire. Like their heavenly Father, they live
forever.

You instantly became a son of God when you received Jesus
into your heart and confessed His Lordship over your life. The Bible says, “As many as received him, to them gave He
power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John
1:12)

Your outward appearance may still look the same after
confessing the Lordship of Jesus over your life, but know that your human life
has been supplanted by the divine nature. The Bible says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things
are passed away; behold all things are become new”
(2 Corinthians 5:17).
Thus, the real “Sons of God” are not the angelic beings but those who are in
Christ Jesus. The consciousness of your divine sonship will inspire you to a
glorious life in Christ Jesus.

CONFESSION

I’m a new creation,
an offspring of the Most High and partaker of the divine nature. My life is
divine, having been born of Your living and eternal Word, and brought into the
glorious liberty of the sons of God. Hallelujah! Amen!

Believe in prosperity

You first
step to living in prosperity is to believe in prosperity. I’m greatly concerned
and feel really sorry for Christians who don’t believe in prosperity. Most
times they’re the same that condemn and criticize preachers who teach God’s
Word on prosperity, and that’s sad. Not to believe in prosperity or in the
message of prosperity is not believe in God, because when you study the Bible
carefully, you will discover that the prosperity of the Christian is God
ordained, God’s idea, and God’s greatest desire.

As a matter
of fact, if anyone must question, doubt or get sceptical about the message of
prosperity, it shouldn’t be the Christians. God’s idea is not even that the
Christian should try and become rich; for the Christian has already been made
rich. Moreover, the Christian should make the non-Christians rich by teaching
them how to prosper God’s way.

This is what
the Apostle Paul meant when he said, we make many rich (2 Corinthians 6:10). I
love the way Weymouth New Testament Translation puts it; it says “we bestow
wealth on many”. That’s our calling as Christians. There’s an anointing on us
to make people rich; to make their lives beautiful and prosperous. You’re
called to “bestow wealth on many!”

If you’re a
child of God, believe in prosperity and don’t be apologetic about it. Don’t
accept to be poor or average. You’ve been made rich (2 Corinthians 8:9);
therefore believe in prosperity and prove your faith by refusing to talk lack
and poverty. Instead, keep talking your way to financial abundance!

PRAYER

Thank You Heavenly Father for
ordaining me to be rich! I believe and acknowledge the grace of the Lord Jesus
Christ who though was rich, made Himself poor that I might be made rich. I
accept my prosperity as Your Will and idea for my life in Jesus Christ Name,
Amen!
